A new adult romance from Entangled's Embrace imprint...

No kissing. No touching. And definitely no falling in love...

Armed with her besties, an embarrassing number of shots, and her list of 10 Wild Things To Do Before Adulthood, recent grad Cameron Lawson is partying it up before she starts her dream job at New York's biggest ad agency. Her last task? Hook up with a random guy. And while it's so not her style, the super-sexy guy sitting next to her is definitely game. No names. No details.

At least, that was the plan.

On her first day of work, Cameron discovers her hook-up is none other than Aidan Truitt-her new boss's boss. Talk about failing the "no fraternizing with coworkers" policy on an epic level. Especially when Aidan makes it clear their one night was only the beginning. Falling for him could cost her everything, but sometimes the only way to get what you want is by breaking a few rules...

Just like in some relationships, this book had all the passion and sparks from the start. It had the driven, focused, soon to be career woman getting a push from her besties to break out of her tightly wound life and accomplish some cut loose goals before starting her first big job in advertising.

Naturally she meets the man who clicks with her...who makes her feel like there is a little something special and her last goal is accomplished. A one night stand....

As she wakes and realizes he is still there...she tries to figure out how to deal with this hunk of amazing man. He is asking for her number and she is pushing him out the door...

She is entering the first meeting at her new job and the receptionist is telling her how hot the executive boss is...and how there is a no dating policy to keep all the little interns away from him...
Naturally, her hook up is this man. Both of them fight the attraction but it is too strong.

And here is the big key to main part of this tale:

She comes from a loving family...and was lucky to have a clear idea of what a loving relationship looks like. It is what she wants above everything.

He comes from an opposite experience. His father left his mother when he was young. The father was successful but never contributed to his childhood, causing his mother and him to fight to keep a roof overhead. His mother loved him but the damage done by his father's behavior causing our guy to believe he would never be able to have any type of relationship with anyone.

So, no matter how much both of these people want each other ...they are coming to this coupling from to very different places. She agrees to be in a non relationship... which is what he asks for... but deep down she keeps hoping for more...because he keeps giving her more...

Can we say Mixed Messages from both of them????

Mix all of this with the continued threat of the company finding out they are going out and the stakes become high.

As I said all of this starts with sparks and chemistry but for me it got too caught up in both of their past history- she wanting more and him fighting it. It does have that forbidden work element that so many enjoy and in the end you are left with a tidy epilogue.

Such a captivating read. Oh, my. I just flew through this baby. I swooned, cracked up, giggled, got frustrated, got mad but most importantly, I fell in love. It's amazing how I fell in love with Cameron and Aidan both individually and collectively. Two thumbs up!

I adore this author. Everything I have read from her, I have loved. Her characters are rich and full. They feel real and I want to be part of their lives. Her stories are captivating and satisfying from start to finish. She's quickly become a one-click author for me.

In No Kissing Allowed, Cameron is letting loose for the first time before her first real job starts. A kiss turns to more with a hot guy at the bar and she wakes up to him in her bed. It's not her normal MO and she ushers him out without getting him name, though he does look vaguely familiar. Expecting to never see him again, she's shocked when he turns up running the meeting on her first day at her new job. Not just her boss but her bosses boss. And no kissing is allowed between employees.

I love Cameron. She's a relationship girl who spend four years with the wrong guy only to have him sweetly break up with her. Feeling the need to make up for lost time but also wanting to focus on her career, she's totally taken by Aidan. She never backs down from this man that owns her heart, she says what's on her mind and is a strong women. While he's not a relationship kinda guy, maybe she deserves some fun times with him. He's so worth the risk.

Aidan is a different kind of no relationship guy. He's afraid of becoming his father, though he's far from him. His dad (a total jerk) left him and his mom when he was young and has treated them like dirt forever. Aidan sees the way to avoid hurting a women and child that way is to avoid marriage and family. And it's worked for him until now. But now, he can't get Cameron out of his head. Staying away from her is painful. Hurting her keeps him up at night. Distance just doesn't work.

What I thought was interesting about this story was the turn in the story. Most romance have a falling out and then a period of pain before something changes and things are resolved. This story felt different. That falling out/painful period was not the regular fair. It's hard to explain without spoiling so I won't. Just that I liked it...a lot.

If you've ever read Melissa West, you already know you want this book. If you haven't had the pleasure, then make this your first. It's an amazing read.

Before Cameron starts her first real job, her new job at an ad agency, she has a wild night out with her friends. She creates a list of 10 wild things to do before adulthood. Her friends add #11, to hook up with a stranger. Cameron doesn't do hook ups, she only does relationships and she has no intention of actually hooking up with a stranger. That is, until the sexy guy in at the bar overhears the conversation and instigates her into kissing him. One kiss and Cameron couldn't resist wanting more. After her one night stand, Cameron has no intention of seeing the guy again and she pretty much tells him exactly that when she asks him to leave the next morning thinking she'll never see him again. Except, her sexy stranger happens to show up in the conference room on her first day of work.

I really enjoyed this story! This book had a lot of sexual tension, mild angst, light drama and a little bit of sexy time. Aidan is a great hero and I really wish this book was told in dual POV because I would love to know what was going on in his head for a lot of this story. Cameron is a strong heroine. I really liked both Aidan and Cameron but also the supporting characters, Cameron's friends. This was a really good boss/employee romance. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Sometimes I read a book that I never want to leave. A book that holds magic within its pages, that makes me think and feel and hope. A book that makes me fall in love. NO KISSING ALLOWED by Melissa West is that kind of book.

Everything I love in my favorite stories--fun banter, a relatable heroine, and a book boyfriend that makes me all kinds of giddy. Sorry ladies, Aidan is mine! Seriously, I can't wipe the perma-grin from my face. Excuse me while I go back and re-read :)

Recent college grad, Cameron Lawson is ready to tackle the adult world. And before she enters the real world, Cameron and her two best friends decide to cross off and complete 10 Wild Things To Do Before Adulthood List. With plenty of alcohol coursing through her body, Cameron does the unthinkable. She kisses a stranger and has a one night stand. No names exchanged and moves on. Sounds easy..right?

photo 83a7066b42d2202dd01cf0d7910b14_zpsminkgo3d.gif “I want you. Every time you speak, I want you more.”

Well the real world got a whole lot of interesting for Cameron when she discovers hot stranger is her boss’s boss. As awkward the situation could be, Cameron tries to keep her distance from Aidan Truitt. But like a moth to a flame, the chemistry between Aidan and Cameron can’t be stopped. Will Cameron be able to separate her personal and professional working life or will the lines get blurred?

No Kissing Allowed by Melissa West is the first book that I have read from this author and it definitely won’t be my last. While the story line and concept of the book is not original, I found that Melissa West was able to make this book stand out with her writing, characters, and the palpable love romance she had in the forefront. So if you are a fan of office romance that weaves steam and angst, then I would recommend you to read No Kissing Allowed.

"Her hook-up is none other than Aidan Truitt—her new boss's boss. Talk about failing the “no fraternizing with coworkers” policy on an epic level. Especially when Aidan makes it clear their one night was only the beginning."

Umm, that synopsis is utter bullshit. Aidan is nothing but a commitment phobic wimp. He doesn't chase her at all! He just goes on and on and on about how he doesn't date. When exactly is he planning to "make it clear" that he wants more? Cause as far as I'm concerned he doesn't seem to want more, if anything, with her. AHHH I'm so annoyed!

WHY WHY WHY do blurbs continually lie like that? Don't act like you are gonna give me a hero who is actually a man and goes after what he wants and then give me a crappy "hero" with pansy ass reasons for not wanting to be serious with the heroine.

At first I was going to give 2,5 - 3 stars.besides being poor executed and the heroine transformed from self centered, strong bitch to a door mat, spineless girl, at the end the author offered a bonus scene for those who'd leave an "honest " review and send her a link. I felt like blackmailing. I think everyone who read the book deserves it. This is not cool

"So far tonight, I'd bought a random guy a drink, danced on a bar, and serenaded a girl during a karaoke song."

No Kissing Allowed starts off with a bang. The antics of Cammie and her two best friends put a smile on my face. Sure, they seem a bit wild, and crazy, but I get what they are doing. When they finally finished their list and Cammie ends up hooking up with Aidan, I wasn't really surprised how that came about.

What did surprise me though is Cammie's thoughts on competition and her inner monologue about them. I read that part a bit wide-eyed and sighing. It's no wonder she got into the situation she was in. The whole story is told from Cammie's POV, although you do get a fair bit of Aidan's emotions and so forth. The author has done a great job with the emotions of both of the main characters even while you're only reading one side.

Aidan is an interesting character himself. You don't really find out from his POV what his emotions are, but he translates well via his actions and reactions to Cammie. He kept me wanting to know what would happen next. Not to mention, it's like his two sides of a coin, but one that blends together seamlessly the more you learn about him and the more you read the book.

There is chemistry between the two characters, and that can't be denied. It reads well and you're shown it, although you don't have intense scenes about it. You know it's going on, but you're not going to be reading pages of sex scenes here.

All in all, there was nothing overwhelming about this book for me. It was a middle of the road, good read. I enjoyed the angst that went with an office type relationship, on top of roadblocks that the characters themselves threw in there. I do love love love the cover of the book and the name of the book though. Both are something that snag your attention. Last but not least, I thought the ending was great. It wasn't rushed, it wasn't awkward, it's was just right. :D A solid three star book!

No Kissing Allowed was such a fantastic read. I fell in love with the characters instantly. Aidan and Cameron meet by chance one night at a bar and that’s all it’s supposed to be; one night. Too bad fate had other ideas in mind. As luck would have it, Aidan ends up being Cameron’s new boss. And boy does that really complicate things. The two of them have excellent chemistry, the kind that refuses to be denied. The more they try, the harder it becomes. The sexual tension was off the charts. Aidan is the guy that just wants to have fun and never fall in love. Meeting Cameron is a total game changer. She has him suddenly wanting and wishing for more, no matter how hard he tries to fight it… Cameron is the relationship girl. She only dates, and never has casual relationships. Even though she knows that Aidan isn’t the commitment type, she still wants to take a chance and explore things with him. So, the two of them come up with rules. Rules that are meant to keep both of them safe. What’s the worst that can happen? Rules are meant to broken, right?

No Kissing Allowed is the perfect summer romance. I loved the idea of a work place romance. The story is well written and perfectly paced. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Not only is the plot entertaining, but the characters are fun and easy to relate to. The story is filled with lots of delicious sexual tension. The angst and drama is very light. This is one of those reads that will fill your heart with hope and leave you with a smile on your face.

If you know me, you know that Melissa West is on my auto buy list and it’s because she just gets me and knows what I like in my books. Ok, ok…that’s probably not really what is happening here but I can honestly say that I love her stories and her characters and I want everyone else to love them too!

No Kissing Allowed is a new adult romance by Melissa and I am very selective about what I like in that genre. With that said, this book was exactly what I was looking for when I picked it up. It has characters that have wonderful chemistry, a great story, and the romance was spot on.

I’ll start with Cameron…she is smart and driven. I love that about her and while there were things about her that drove me crazy (I will chat about that in a minute), she had clear ideas about who she wanted to be and what she wanted to do with her life. I loved how West showed us not only who Cameron is when she is in New York, but also the snippets of her life when she was back in the South with her family.

So…the story. Cameron and her friends are playing a game one night and tackling a list of dares that they put together and challenged each other to do before they jump into their new jobs and adult lives on Monday. On that list is the challenge to hook up with someone random and a guy just happens to catch her eye – UT Guy is what she calls him (because of his hat). He seems a bit cocky but he is definitely good looking and Cameron hates to lose at anything so she jumps right in and I have to say, the interaction between Cameron and him the next morning was fantastic! As Cameron says goodbye to UT Guy, for what she thinks is forever, she wonders if she did the right thing in not getting his number.

As Monday comes around, Cameron heads to her new job at a Sanderson-Lowe as an account manager. When she gets there she realizes she should have done a bit more digging on those she would be working with – namely the chief creative director, Aiden Truitt. Since he is really her boss’ boss, she didn’t think it would be a big deal but as she realizes she is headed into a meeting with him, she has a slight moment of panic because she really knows nothing about him. But really, that isn’t true because surprise, UT Guy…he’s Aiden Truitt.
Aiden…boy, I don’t know what I can say about him that would really do him justice. First thing I will say is just read this and you will know what I’m talking about. Initially he has this reputation around the office of being somewhat of a playboy but as I learned more about him, it wasn’t so much that as he didn’t want to be anything like his father. It was clear he was looking at his father and doing everything in his power to be nothing like him but in the end, he was really letting his father control this aspect of who he was.

The chemistry between Cameron and Aiden was fantastic! The added twist to this story is that there is a no fraternizing rule at their work (rumor has it that it is because of Aiden) and it is clear that these two are drawn to each other. As they continue to build a work relationship, it becomes harder and harder to stay away from each other in other ways and they ultimately become more than just a one night stand. Despite this, the underlying conflict between these two is a difference in relationship ideals. Cameron knows she wants more than what Aiden says he can give her…namely a marriage and family. Because of his past, he refuses to even consider it. As they confirm they both want different things, they both realize that they need to break it off but that turns out to be harder than they thought.

Admittedly the thing that annoyed me the most about Cameron is that she continued to say she was ok with what Aiden was willing to give her around their relationship and then she would come back and say she wanted more. On the other hand, I loved that she pushed him about it and made him realize that he isn’t his father and no matter what they had, he wouldn’t ever be that kind of man.

So definitely check this book out when you can. There are some swoony bits, some funny bits, and definitely some sexy bits in this story so if you are looking for wonderful characters and a fantastic story – this is the book for you! Also, if you haven’t read anything by Melissa West yet, what the heck are you waiting for? Seriously, go now. There’s something out there for everyone and I want to hear about how much you enjoyed them once you’re done!

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I'm not sure what it says about me when I get a thrill out of a one night stand that comes back to bite the participants firmly on the a$$ but that's exactly what happens in Melissa West's No Kissing Allowed. Fresh out of college and headed to their dream jobs Cameron Lawson and her best friends and partying it up and crossing off their 10 Wild Things to do Before Adulthood when her friends add a number 11, have a one night stand something Cameron has never done. It doesn't help that the gorgeous man sitting next to her in the bar overhears and pegs her pretty damn close to her good girl image and with a bet on the line Cameron sets out to prove them all wrong and she's feeling pretty good about that until her first meeting at work and realizes her one night stand it her boss's boss Aidan Truitt and she feels her life taking a drastic turn. From its gut wrenching moments to its heartfelt ones to its insane sexy ones No Kissing Allowed was a completely entertaining romance from start to finish.

The moment Cameron and Aidan meet their attraction is noticeable and it becomes more obvious the more time they spend together. I loved that these two tripped each other up completely that even when they knew they could be fired because of the no fraternization policy they just couldn't stay away from each other, that Cameron made Aidan want things he's never considered, that they both saw so much in each other things most people never noticed and that Cameron wanted more for Aidan than the shallow life he's let himself lead. These two were about as far apart as two people could be in regards to relationships and their struggle to meet even in the middle was immense and tore not only them in half but the reader as well. I felt for these two and their plight and while I could understand both their sides, I hurt for Aidan the most because he was simply so alone. The way these two wanted no needed each other was insane and it became evident that they were both either going to be hurt terribly or be extremely happy because for them there simply was no in-between.

There was so much I enjoyed in this book but what I loved most is watching these two accept each other completely and fully issues and all and finding a way to work through them to be together. Funny and sexy with an interesting plot and colorful characters No Kissing Allowed was a joy to read.

No Kissing Allowed is quick, light, and fun read.

Cameron Lawson is ready to start her first real job, but a hookup the night before ends up meaning more than it meant to. When she arrives at work on the first day she finds out that her hookup is actually her boss’ boss. Will they be able to keep it professional, or will they become something more?

This book was very enjoyable. Cameron and Aiden are torn between their jobs and their attraction for each other. I liked that Cameron made sure to give Aiden time with her family, because he didn’t have that in his own life. I also liked the progression of their relationship, though Aiden’s reason to not be in a relationship bothered me. I also felt as though Aiden’s character didn’t really appeal to me that much. So, it made me just like this book and not love it.

This was the first book I read by Melissa West and it was nice to find a new author that I like. No Kissing Allowed made me very interested to read the second book in the series, No Falling Allowed, which is Grace’s. ~ Leah, 4 stars

No Kissing Allowed Review on K-Books

No Kissing Allowed was a book I first read such a long time ago and I adored it but for some reason just never wrote a review of it. After finishing the second book in the series, No Falling Allowed, I decided to re-read this book and finally write a review. I loved No Kissing Allowed the second time just as much as I did the first time I read it. It's such a phenomenal love story.

Cameron had one wild night before entering adulthood and starting her new job. What she didn't expect was the super hot guy from the night before would be her new boss' boss. Cameron is determined to forget about that night and focus on her job but when Aiden makes it clear that he isn't happy with just the one night Cameron is torn... between the start of her career and the super hot guy that she can't resist. Between following her heart at the risk that it could be broken in two.

Melissa West is without a doubt one of my favourite authors. Everything she writes I just devour and love and when she asked me to BETA read this for her a few years ago I was so excited. I devoured it in one sitting and I absolutely loved every moment of it. I couldn't put it down as I just had to know what was going to happen.

Cameron is one of the most relatable characters I have read in a NA novel. It made it so easy to be sucked into this book and keep reading until it was finished. If you know me you'll know that I'm not a major fan of NA contemporary books. I like them ok but after reading one or two I get a little bored as I feel like so many of them have the same storyline and I sometimes feel like I'm reading something I've already read before. Melissa's books absolutely do not apply to this. I have read so many of them and she is one of the only authors who makes me love NA. This one was no different. With Cameron's reservedness and Aiden's teasing and sexiness it was such an easy read. I loved every moment of it... both the first time and the re-read. And I very very rarely re-read NA contemporary novels.

No Kissing Allowed is an amazing book with amazing characters and an amazing story. I can't recommend this series more. I loved every moment of it and I can't wait for more books from Melissa. She is without a doubt one of the best authors out there and I will just read everything she writes regardless of what age range it is aimed at or what genre. If you're looking for a new NA to sink your teeth into this one is a must-read.

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

I picked up No Kissing Allowed whilst it was on sale during its release week, after reading some great reviews about it. I am so glad I did because it was a sizzling and light read that I enjoyed right from the start.

Right from the first chapter, I met Cameron at a bar with her friends. They are having a night of fun before beginning their first jobs right out of college. I got a glimpse of Cameron’s competitive nature, and while discussing this kiss she needed to do to accomplish her list, she is overheard by a guy in an OC hat. They flirt, kiss and have fun, and before Cameron knows it, she does something she would not normally do.

Cameron has limited experience when it comes to guys, so it was amusing to see her let her walls down, but when sober, she isn’t sure how to handle things. When she gets to work and sees her hook up there, she is quite shocked, but I liked seeing how professional she was and tried to move past it.

Aidan… well, this guy had all the right moves! He surely swept Cameron off her feet. He struggled a lot at work though, because of how his father raised him, he has no expectations in the future. It was good to see Cameron work her way under his skin, and before long he realised that she would be hard to break away from.

No Kissing Allowed was a sweet read, focused on the growing chemistry Cameron and Aidan have. They may have different family back grounds, but shared a passion for work and each other. It was nice to see Aidan do things he would usually not do, and take Cameron up on her offer. I felt that Cameron jumped to conclusions before discussing things with Aidan, but he was patient enough to work through the issues. It was easy to be swept away in Melissa West’s writing style, and how easy it was to like these characters. I will definitely try more of Melissa’s work in the future!

4.6 Stars but 5 on here.

I was given this book for my honest review

“Are you crazy—what are you doing here?” “I had something important to tell you.” “What?” “I love you.” He took a step toward me. “I couldn’t wait another moment to tell you, but then you didn’t answer my texts or calls, and I thought something happened. And before I could convince myself to be logical, I had a plane ticket and was headed to the airport.” Another step. “And that’s when I realized that I didn’t want to be an ocean away from you if something happened. I want to be right here, protecting you—loving you. I am in love with you Cameron Lawson.

Aidan-hot and sexy

Cameron-pretty, sweet

Come take this journey with Cameron and Aidan to a world of the unknown. Aidan is a sexy sweet man that has a guarded heart. What happens when a woman takes his breath away at one kiss? Can this woman be the one that captures his guarded heart? Cameron is a fresh new face that has dreams of becoming a success just out of college she wants to let go and be wild for just one night before she enters into the world of reality. Can a man with a silver tongue be the one that captures her heart and will she be able to just stop at just one night?

The sex and the relationship that these two embark upon is like a tootsie roll pop with the softening candy center that explodes within our mouths. The scrumptiousness flavor hard candy on the outside. The bewilderment of the pop in itself of what happens when we finally get to the center is exhilarating in itself.

The author did an amazing job in bringing the crescendo to this read. The relationship of Aidan and Cameron started just perfectly and the build to the end was just music to my ears. Then of course the author adds a twist and it becomes pure ecstasy. Kudos

Happy Reading

Review by Lisa Kane

I loved this book! Good girl Cameron is more than a little competitive and rises to the bet when her friends bet her about having a hook up. So when the good looking guy with the UT hat behind her starts egging her on about helping her win the bet-she shuts him down. But then picks up again with him. Only the next morning when he wakes up beside her, she can't wait to kick him out of her place.

Imagine her surprise when Cameron's new boss' boss turns out to be Aiden the guy she spent the night with. He's the company's young dynamic creative director. He's as rattled to see her as she is him, but there's just so much unsaid between them. Not to mention the company has a no dating policy between employees.

This one is steamy and full of some poignant moments. There's some tiny heartbreaks that go on. I kept waiting for Cameron to ask Aiden how often he picked up women he didn't know, but she never did...(I know I'd be all over asking him about that!)

No Kissing Allowed is a great read and I'm looking forward to more from this series.

Cameron's two best friends Lauren and Grace are the type of girls you wish you had in your life (although Grace is a little out of touch with reality as she's never wanted for anything but as her story is next, No Falling Allowed, I have a feeling she's going to have quite a little fall from grace...)

Hot office romance?!? SIGN ME THE HELL UP! I need some romance in my life.

No Kissing Allowed was a pretty good book. It kept me interesting.. and in my eyes.. well that's a thumb up. It gives you some serious swooning moments between Cameron and Aiden. Both characters were completely likable - I just love how Cameron had to make a set of rules before she started her real job. Then us, the reader, already knows that list is going into the trash because something is obviously going to happen now.

The one thing I seriously wished for this book.. was that it was a dual POV. It frustrated me and I was slowly dying because I just wanted one little glimpse into his beautiful thoughts on every situation. This reminded me of when I was reading that frustrating book.. 50 shades of gray.. and I was just like.. really?!? Can I see what's going on in his head now? Then when I did.. I regretted that so quickly. Dick this. Dick that. BUT for this book.. I don't think I would. Maybe.

Aidan and Cameron are my everything. I love their awkward, hot, and random kiss at the bar. I loved their office romance even more. I just loved them. I can't wait for the second book!!

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**No Kissing Allowed is a new adult contemporary romance by Melissa West. I have read a couple of Melissa's other books and I have to say this one was not my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I liked it. But I just didn't love it. No Kissing Allowed is a fun, quick and flirty new adult romance. And I liked it for that purpose. But I had some snags with some of the characters. But much like the book overall, I didn't dislike any of the characters per se, I just didn't love the main character Cameron as much as I wanted to.

Cameron is a driven, impulsive and incredibly stubborn young lady. I loved how driven she was and that she went after what she wanted at work, but her impulsiveness led to foot in mouth disorder so many times throughout the story. I get it. She wants to be able to say whatever she wants to say, whenever she wants to say it. No one should oppress her or make her bite her tongue. #AmIRight? But maybe the line should be drawn just before you are talking back to your boss in the middle of a meeting on your first day at work. Moments like those just had Cameron grating on my nerves just a little bit. She struck me as the kind of person where while sweet, and compassionate (and she was! I loved her sweet and caring side)she was also the type of person that held their ideals on their sleeve. And that doesn't bother me, but when they feign to be open minded but really think everyone who disagrees with them is wrong...that kind of does. I know, you must think I hate Cameron by this point...and I really don't. I liked her and I really enjoyed the very bumpy but always fun romance between her and Aiden. It was just these little details in Cameron's personality held me back from falling in love with the story.

But what saved No Kissing Allowed for me was Melissa West's writing. I love her easy and conversational style. It made reading this book feel good. I loved Aiden, and I loved the friendship between Cameron and her friends. I would love to see their stories next. I feel like I would like Lauren a lot more than I liked Cameron. Now let's talk romance! The romance between Aiden and Cameron is of the forbidden variety and while this doesn't always work for me, it did this time because there wasn't a huge age difference between Cameron and Aiden. I loved the romance. It was fun and sexy and downright addicting. But for a book whose title is No Kissing Allowed, there certainly is a lot of kissing going on. I didn't really get the title because it didn't tie into any of the rules that Aiden and Cameron laid out. But I get that it was a theme thing, so it didn't bug me, I was just surprised to find out there wasn't a no kissing rule when I started reading the book. If you are looking a quick and fun read, and you like forbidden romances, this might be a great one for you. And like I said, I do hope that Melissa West makes stories for Cameron's friends. This review was originally posted on Book Briefs

New Adult as a genre is so rife with angsty and melodramatic books. It's rare to find books in the category that are pure fun, so when one like No Kissing Allowed comes by, I'm quick to jump on board them. Melissa West's The Taking trilogy is one of those underrated YA series that I thoroughly enjoyed. The romance, especially, was butterfly-inducing. I knew going into No Kissing Allowed that she would excel at NA because of how good she is at writing romance in general.

I loved that No Kissing Allowed was an angst-free book without the characters having too dramatic of pasts. This book was fun and I completely appreciated the fact. Driven, passionate and hard working, Cameron as a protagonist was easy to love. She was very dedicated to her success in her career and I loved that she wasn't willing to take anything offered to her on a platter, but that she actually sweat to be able to achieve her dreams. Cameron was also pretty up-front about what she wants in a partner, commitment, which was refreshing because most often than not, there is this hook up culture that is portrayed in books. She wanted a relationship that would go somewhere in the future and had no qualms being open about it. Aidan, her love interest and boss, was the complete opposite of her when it came to relationships, but he was still a gentleman and a sweetheart through and through. He, too, like Cameron was driven and passionate about his job and I loved that about both of them. I loved how sweet he was and how he was willing to actually make changes to his beliefs and practices for the sake of Cameron. His and Cameron's relationship was healthy, sweet and full of swoony moments. They did have to keep their relationship secret for most of the book because of office love affairs being forbidden, but that just added to the intensity of their relationship. Some of my favorite scenes in the book involved Cameron's family who were really down to earth and sweet. Watching Aidan interact with them having never experienced that kind of family before was wonderful. Cameron also had some really loveable friends, some of whom I hope will get their own books, because those girls sure sounded like a lot of fun.

No Kissing Allowed was a sweet romance book that entertained me from start to finish. If you are more into fun NA romance books set in a big city, I highly recommend this one.

Sometimes it's just really nice to pick up a book that takes you back to the basics. A book that's about relationships, love, and romance. No Kissing Allowed delivered that for me.

This is a simple story, but I love those kinds of stories where the character does something out of character, like a one-night stand, and then goes into her new job Monday morning to find out that the hot guy she spent the night with is her boss. What intrigue!! That's exactly what happens in this book, and I just adore the conflict such a situation creates. Melissa West tells it so well, and brings something new and different to the mix.

I tend to jump to conclusions about the guy characters that participate in a one-night stand. Oh, he's a player. He'll never want a relationship because he just likes to slut around. These characters surprised me though. I loved Cameron from the beginning. She is a new graduate, is starting a brand new job in advertising, and is driven and excited by her new career. That fresh outlook really came out in her narrative, and it reminded me so much of myself when I was first starting out in my own career. So I was able to relate to her very well. And then there was her boss, or should I say her boss's boss, Aidan.

Aidan is the other side to this one-night stand coin, and I loved him too. He's not just a player not wanting a relationship, although he is afraid to commit... but there are reasons. I loved how the author peeled those reasons back for us and allowed us to get to know him. I also loved watching him try to fight what is obviously more than just an attraction to Cameron.

The author did really well with the characterization here... even with the friends. I loved Cameron's friends so much. They were vivid and alive, and their interactions with her were so fun to read. There was one character in the story who was a bit cliche, but I didn't really let it bother me because I was enjoying the rest of the story and enjoying just being entertained. Before I knew it, I looked up and I had finished the book. It was very fast-paced, and had the perfect ending. A very good read that will leave me checking out other books by this author.

More Reviews Here: Readers Live A Thousand Lives

This book is the perfect read for New Adult fans! It has everything I love about the genre, without feeling like every other New Adult book I’ve read. Melissa West’s characters are always likable and her guys are always swoony. No Kissing Allowed was an addictive read and one I was able to finish in a few short hours.

Cameron is an awesome heroine and I related to her in so many ways. I was Cameron not too long ago; starting a new job in NYC and while unlike Cameron I have lived here my whole life, it is still a crazy life change. We are both independent and take pride in our success and the competitive streak is something I understand well. So yeah. Me and Cameron would get along just fine and I really loved that about her. I love seeing myself in a character and I saw a lot of myself in Cameron.

Aidan, our love interest, is so so swoony. It’s very easy to fall for him. He is driven and successful, but he is also charming and sweet and a great guy. He isn’t an alpha bad boy and I loved him all the more for that. He is simply a good guy and a realistic guy and one that any girl would be lucky to find. He has his hang ups, but everyone does. What I liked about Aidan is that he is willing to work and evaluate and admit when he is wrong. So yeah. Aidan is great.

Aidan and Cameron are great together. They are the kind of couple that makes each other stronger. They push one another to be better and don’t try to hold each other back. Despite Aidan being her boss, he never treats her as if he is superior or shows her any preferential treatment. I also loved the low level of angst in this one. Their relationship has the normal ups and downs, but there is no drama and angst just for the fun of it. It was so refreshing to read a book like that and it made me love it even more.

All in all, No Kissing Allowed was a great read and New Adult fans should definitely check this one out. Its quick and fun and swoony and not one to miss.

This New Adult novel from Meilissa West is so well done. I really enjoyed the writing style and narration. The writing was quippy and lighthearted. The dialogue was fast paced and enjoyable. The two main love interests, Cameron and Aiden, really brought together the story. I thought the main character, Cameron was an enjoyable character who you could really identify with. Her thoughts and dialogue were so honest and true and I loved the way she stuck to her beliefs. As for Aiden… he’s hot, smart, and wears glasses. That is all that matters in life.

Since this is a New Adult novel, there was sex of course. I felt the sex was well done though. It was overpowering and extremely awkward and it wasn’t the main part of the book. Instead, sexual tension played more of a role, and it was done so well. The tension was so real and thick I could feel it.

As for the plot, it was predictable until the last ten or so pages, but still enjoyable nonetheless. I felt something could have been added to the plot to make it a little more meaningful though. One problem I had with their relationship was it was so back and forth all the time and their emotions kept constantly changing and I felt like all of it was rather unnecessary. I also feel like they fell in love, or rather became infatuated with one another really quickly, but what do I know, I’m not them.

This one nearly gave me whiplash, the characters were like a yoyo, going back and forth in their choices. This is not helped by the shortness of the book. 50-70 more pages would have gone a long way to let the relationship development breathe a little.

Aidan's insecurities were overcome way too fast. It's not possible to undo years and years of convictions in a couple of weeks (unless you have some sort of religious revelation, which was not the case here). Also, Cameron's mom was insufferable! To break down the way she did because of flour?? Come on!

This is the first NA book I have read from Melissa. I fell in love with her Gravity series and was excited to read this romance. I enjoyed this sweet, and entertaining story. It pulled me in from the very beginning, and the taboo romance had me smiling. A honestly good book to fall in love with.
