When Pop hires a quiet and dangerous biker to run security at the bar, Desi experiences the calm and safety she's craved since she was thirteen years old, and finds herself caught in a web she can't escape.
He wants the twelve years he spent in prison for murder back. It's time for her to pay…

First let me say I love this series and have read all of the previous books. We met Merk in the first and subsequent books. Merk was loved by some and hated by some. His actions in the previous books could have classified him as either an anti-hero or a good guy trying to do the right thing. So I was very interested in how the author was going to write Merk's story. And again, the author did not disappoint. The story totally surprised me and kept me guessing as to Merk's true motives in his relationship with Desi. Merk has to work through a lot of emotional baggage but he always treats Desi good. He's not close to being as controlling as Cam was with Christina. It's a sweet love story that will leave you cheering Merk and Desi on as they struggle through the emotional baggage to their HEA. There is a 20 year age difference between the two, but there's no rape, no cliff hanger and a very good story. I was glad to see Merk and Cam mending their fences and coming back together and I'm really looking forward to the next one in the series.
Another fabulous MC novel that hits in the warm fuzzy soft spot! Realistic in lifestyle, culture and comradery brotherhood, you really couldn't ask for a more top notch story. Merk living and breathing in hell, battling demons of addictions and a life full of crime, has always tried to do the right thing, even when he failed. The man he became is defined in one crucial heart stopping moment. A promise is kept with the price of his silence, my heart bled for the man. He needed his own slice of heaven regardless of the outside forces tearing his life apart or the ghosts of the past coming back to haunt him. I loved his and Desi's remarkable story, their strength, courage and the ability to conquer the odds. Cam is still a heartless ass! Despite everything part of me would love to see the leader of the pack go to ground. You know the old saying birds of a feather flocks together, well misery loves company, hello Christina.
Merk walked around the fire. He lifted his chin to Cam, keeping his eyes off Christina. He privately wished her well, but failed to support her decision to stay with his president. It seems everyone has been waiting to see how I feel about this book. It is no secret that I loathed Merk. My opinion stems from when he told his Moroad Brothers "I shot him to protect her feelings". Men in my world do not say comments like this. I believed all his emotional manipulation was worse then the cold, methodical ways of Cam. Knowing Cam connected the dots failed to surprise Merk. Cam came by his information in ways Merk never found out about and stayed ahead of everyone in Moroad MC. His control over the club made him the leader for a reason. In Time Owed, Debra Kayn, continued to mess with my mind. As with all books, everything is not as it seems. What you think happened in Book 1 to 3, you find out in Book 4, there are ulterior motives and backroom dealings that we weren't privy to then, that now come to light. Merk is a convulted, complex man. None of the men in Moroad are going to be white knights in shining armor that are going to come in and sweep their damsels in distress off their feet. They are felons who do what they want, when they want, and how the want to further their own agenda. These are men who fuction outside the law who will never be innocent. They are men who protect what they have and trust each other as much as they can. While they love deeply it is always on their terms. There are a lot of moving parts to Moroad where no one quite knows the whole story. Merk & Cam aren't as different as I thought. In fact, they are scary in how alike they are. They both have their own agenda and just happen to be in the same MC. I do think if they had met at a different time and place, they could be intense rivals, who seperately would really give each other a run for their money. Now, Debra, I am not asking for that to happen because really my mind and heart couldn't take it. BeforeI tell you how I feel this is one of my favorite parts of the book: "I could give a shit about your plans. You end up in prison againa, that's your risk. I can always use you on the inside. Just remember, no man bends forward and gets ass raped for fun. Stay smart." Who knew Cam could be funny! And they say he is uncaring! :-) He no longer worried about Cam or Christina. She was obviously happy and settled down with Cam, and he and Cam always straightend out their own problems without anyone's help. Ok, so now the part that you all, I am sure have been waiting for, has my opinion of Merk changed? Am I converted to #TeamMerk or am I still #NotTeamMerk? Well, let me try and explain. When I was reading this book, I messaged Debra and said "Merk is a Dick." Merk is, in fact, still a dick, but he is a dick I can now understand. The part that made me think Merk was a pussy ended up being not as I thought. Did it change my opinion of Merk? Yes Did it make me change my feelings toward Merk? Yes, but only in a sense Am I now #TeamMerk? In all honesty, no, I am not. While I do understand where he came from, his reasons for his actions, and how he ended up how he is, I am still not a convert. Merk is out for Merk and only Merk. As you will read in this book, his need for revenge fueled everything he did, until it didn't. Does that make sense? Merk runs on passion and emotions in going one way until he decides everything changed what he was doing and goes another way. When you think it is all revenge, he changes it up. Whereas, Cam is cold and methodical, Merk is passionate and emotional and can change gears as he sees fit. The story of Merk and Desiree is not typical, as with anything associated with a DK book is, but it is emotional. You will come to a new light about Merk and who he is. I understand what drives him. I would say Merk and I have come to an impasse. I don't hate him, but I don't love him. I understand him, but do not love him. (at least until book 5 comes out and DK changes all that as it seems to be with Moroad) This book, this series, as always is a constant evolving storyline that really makes you think and try to understand the method behind the madness of the characters. When Wrapped Around Her was released, I said it was a game changer for the MC genre. Time Owed is nothing less then brilliant writing and an exceptional plotline that as always leaves you thinking and feeling more than you thought possible. As with other series, some get worse as more books are released, but with DK books she always impresses me with setting the bar high and hitting the mark everytime. I didn't believe she could make me understand Merk, but as always she accomplished the impossible. Well played, Debra Kayn, well played.
Debra Kayn has once again taken us on a mind blowing, roller coaster ride as we finally get to read Merk's story in Time Owed and the woman who he would own his soul. After all that went down between him, Cam and Christina, I was anxious to see what this author had in store for Merk and she did not disappoint. I came away from reading this book loving Merk and understanding his actions. Merk and Desi had great chemistry and I liked their backstory which helped us to see Merk's motivation for things he's done. I liked that Desi had always seen Merk as her hero despite the circumstances that led him into her life in the past as well as the present. I loved how protective he was of her which brought out a more sensitive side we rarely get to see of the Moroad bikers. I think it is this unexpected side that has readers falling for Merk which I have to give kudos to the author for being able to accomplish this tough task. I really enjoyed the powerful storytelling along with the smoking hot sex scenes which kept me flipping the pages and wanting to see what happened next. I cannot wait to read the next story in this wonderful series.
From the moment I picked up the latest release from author Debra Kayn, Time Owed (Moroad Motorcycle Club) to the time I read the last page, it OWNED me. If you follow any social media pertaining to Debra Kayn, either her Facebook author’s page or the Moroad Support Group on Facebook, you will recognize that I am a Debra Kayn fan. Everyone has that one author they follow and will read all their books, well I’m that person when it comes to Mrs. Kayn’s books and it’s not for some “fan girl” fascination, it is because she writes an honest and compelling story. A story that makes you think hard about the characters she has presented to you. Her Moroad series is not a story of “pretty” boys pretending to be bikers, her stories are not light hearted reads. Debra has created a series about career criminals, men who have spent time in prison for horrible crimes. About men trying to cope with life outside the prison walls, about men with agendas. And about the relatively “normal” women who cross their paths.
Time Owed is the fourth book in the Moroad Motorcycle Club series. This story centers on James “Merk” Tarmerk. Merk was first introduced to the readers as the imprisoned Vice President in Wrapped Around Him, Cam and Christina’s story, by books two and three, you either hated him or loved him (#TeamMerk/#TeamCam). Debra allowed readers to see a glimpse of this troubled and complex man and left us craving more. Many saw him as a caring and protective man while others considered him sneaky and distrustful. A man who shot his club president and was sent back to prison for a murder he did not commit.
Merk, who is haunted by his past and his addictions, sets out to redeem himself for some of his past mistakes. Merk’s sister Roni passed away while Merk was in prison, leaving her minor son Jeremy alone and in the custody of the state. A son that Merk is not aware of until the truth is revealed to the club. We learn of Merk and Roni’s troubled childhood and how Merk failed to protect Roni when she needed him the most. We flash back to when Merk’s path first crosses with a thirteen year old Desi (the witness who sent him to prison for the last twelve years) and the revenge he has planned for a now adult Desi.
As with any of the Moroad books and members of the club, things are not so cut and dry. These men will manipulate a person or situation for their benefit. Do they set out to be hard asses? Sure – they are career criminals.
Do they honestly distrust all those around them? You bet – their world is based on lies and dishonesty. These men will never truly trust those around them, even those they consider their “brother” will double cross them in a minute if it means the club will benefit.
We revisit the Cam/Christina/Merk issue again and have some of our questions from “For Life” answered and finally, maybe, some closure on that subject.
Though he is more subtle than Cam, Merk will achieve success however he chooses for the results he wishes to obtain.
For me, this book validated my feelings for Merk ever since book two. And I just wonder how many of those fence sitters and anti Merk readers will change their opinions, maybe they won’t, but at least they will see who the real Merk is and how deeply this man thinks and acts, but at the end of the day he is still a criminal trying to live on the outside of the prison walls and trying to find a person who can make his life a little less lonely..
“She’d overreacted, because whenever Merk came near, she practically ovulated in hopes of having him stay with her.”
“He’s like the black sheep of a very bad family.”
“Merk stayed with her, comforted her, and healed her. He’d done more for her than she’d done for herself. He kept her moving forward, even dragging her along at times.”
“He was a wildcard. Unpredictable, unreadable, unemotional. She lowered her gaze, knowing she was being unfair. Merk had emotions, an excess of feelings, and every single one was aimed at her.”
“He wanted to take everything away from you, because he knew hurting you would kill me. Desi… you’re the only good thing I’ve got. I won’t let him destroy you.”
My Review:
This is my first time reading this author and while starting the series near the end may have put me at a disadvantage, the book was marketed as a stand-alone and I was able to piece it together without too much confusion, but I am sure it would have been easier to follow had I read the previous installments. Many of my initial thoughts about the plot were incorrect. Looking at the cover and title, I assumed the character was going into prison rather than coming out. Then I assumed he was after revenge and retribution for being turned in – nope – shucks - 0 for 2! I was captivated by this moody, taut, steamy, and suspenseful storyline. Ms. Kayn is highly skilled in maintaining tension, misdirection, intrigue, and emotive writing.
We have two damaged and broken people who were thrown together years before by deplorable events, separated and each thinking of the other for 12 years, then find themselves in the same orbit again with the same horrible circumstances bending back to find them. Given their histories and personalities, I didn’t expect to care about the characters as much as I did, yet I fell into their story soon after beginning, and held on by my fingernails all the way through to the satisfying conclusion. Although, I do find myself in need of a spa day after holding all that tension.
Well let me just say Debra Kayn has risen to the list of my favorite biker romance authors with this series and I am so glad I stuck it out and read all four and thanks to my friend for loaning me the books. I really felt for Merk from the first time I met him and even after he did the unthinkable to his Prez and Christina. Reading his story and what happened to him that put him on many people's hit list was heartbreaking and when he comes face to face with the beautiful little girl from his past (now grown into an even more beautiful woman) it was just an awesome story of trust, promise of love and protection that would surpass the "time owed" to him. A tough and fierce and emotional love story that is so far, my favorite book (running a close tie with the first one) of the series. Loved this one and now I have a book hangover!
***** 5 ***** "they'll both get time owed and a whole lot more" stars
I've always been a fan of what some people would call a 'villain' in a book series. Not because I enjoy the things that they do to people or how the are perceived to be by the reader. No. I love a character that everyone loves to hate because I am a firm believer that not all things are what they seem and everyone has they're own story.
That being said, Time Owed does not disappoint.
Merk loses 12 yrs of his life to prison and he wants that time back. The person that put him in that cell is the one that he will make pay. Only, what happens when that person wants to give him more than the time owed?
I'm not going to leave a review full of spoilers, that would do a serious injustice to this book. I will say:
You think you know Merk, but you know nothing at all.
Go forth and read. You will definitely NOT be disappointed.
I didn't really like Merk in the other books, but we see a whole different side of him. I really loved how he could be (well to me) soft and gentle when his woman was going through a rough time, "you're going to be fine and once the meeting is over, I'll take you back to the bar." He squeezed her a** and stepped back." Merk tries to understand his woman but honestly she just brings him to question things, "debts? He paid the contractors and gave her money for new furniture. What part of him taking care of her had she not understood?" I liked this book, I seriously loved seeing a different side of Merk.
Merk comes into Desi's life for one reason. He wants back those years that he lost when she helped send him to jail. He plans to bind her to him for those years. What he didn't plan on was falling for this strong and sassy woman. He gets hired on a muscle for the bar her family owns and they are thrown together causing some serious fireworks. They are scorching hot together. Merk will learn that all is not as it seems and Desi will fall head over heels for the man who was her savior years ago and will save her over and over again. I really loved these two together. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
This is Merk's story in this Moraod MC series. I liked the story. I feel like this author has an awesome way to tell their story while still including all the characters from the previous story. It's not overwhelming with all that is going on as long as it is read in order, you get a lot from that when you do that. My only complaint is that I felt with Merk and Desi's story is that it was over exaggerated on certain points to where I was like finally tell her already (secrets that he kept). It just got to be over climatic. I'm still a big fan and can't wait to see what happens!
Debra Kahn just can't resist turning us inside out. Nothing is black or white. Grey has always been one of my favorite colors. Merk really shows there's always more to know. Great read!! And just when you think you know what you might be willing to accept.......
MERK (James Tarmerk) is most definitely a complicated man with long stints of prison-time littering his past. Imagine a man who figures a woman owes him the dozen years lost to prison due to her naming him in a murder he committed in front of her? Desiree (Desi) Carlyle was 13 or so when it happened and was left very traumatized in seeing her father killed; although not so much a loss to her since her father was a monster in her eyes and she hated him. Still; her naming the killer was borne of trauma and perhaps some minor coercion on the parts of law enforcement who took advantage of her severe state of upset.
So; this is what we get in TIME OWED. A man set to collect and a very feisty woman bent on staying the path she’s chosen for herself and that path doesn’t include a biker. It includes the bar her Grandpa owns along with POP (her Grandpa). Lots of things happen though. Bad things. Sad things. Violent things. Things that change the course of her path; enter MERK who has his own agenda to collect a dozen years from the gal who put him in prison for those dozen years (yea, his thinking is a bit off here but he’s had a lot of time to stew about what went wrong).
Sometimes I thought MERK merely didn’t want to be alone and wanted his own woman – rather like CAM having CHRISTINA. From book three ‘HIS CRIME’ I figured MERK just wanted CHRISTINA for himself. After reading this book I don’t think it was that cut and dried. Now I think MERK was trying to ‘save’ CHRISTINA from a fate that in his mind might be similar to the sister that MERK so tragically lost so many years before. The sister (Roni) that MERK couldn’t help and still feels guilt about. Trying to help CHRISTINA and get her from CAM…….big mistake for MERK and he knows it and has paid dearly for it. Lost the VP badge. Lost CAM's trust. Lost CHRISTINA’s friendship. Almost an outcast. Mass quantities of booze was involved and when MERK drank too much his better judgement became crazed.
In this book we get DESI (Desiree) who it now comes out, is MERK’s real goal, after his last release from prison. He’s been waiting for payback and the time has come and the circumstances are right for his re-entrance into DESI’s life.
For a good third of this book I didn’t like MERK much. I also thought DESI to be a hardened bitch. Then everything started to change and unfold. MERK started caring about DESI and his heart started to beat for her instead of his need to get those dozen years back. DESI, for her part began to open herself to a man who she might not totally trust but she felt him worthy of her care. The transformation from semi-strangers to lovers to people who have fallen for one another is slow. No insta-love in this book. It reads…….REAL. We get people with bad baggage who manage to keep their necks barely above water while they simply exist. The trouble that comes along after POP’s death…..scary. We gets lots of nail-biting moments which will prove MERK’s solidarity with his MC Brethren.
In the end…..I’m impressed that MERK really is a man of honor. Honor for his woman. Honor for his MC. Honor for his president (CAM). I loved the ending when CAM steps forward to make it right with MERK. No; MERK is still not VP again but what comes out is better; they’re old friends who’ve been through a lot together and can move forward with that friendship. Sure; they’re lost some of it because if there is one thing a man doesn’t do it is try and take what belongs to CAM. They are talking again….and it works for this reader. I felt that MERK had reached a point in his life where he has something to live for (other than pay-back revenge) and he may finally allow himself to just bask in some happiness with the woman of his choice. I also have to be honest and say that I wasn’t sure MERK would live through this book but I had to know he’d be okay. He also admitted to his drinking problems and has cleaned up his act accordingly.
Takes a village, or in this case: a Motorcycle Club with men who will fight for one another and if needed, die for their club. I’m very excited about the next book in this series; that being JACKO’s book. I have a feeling his story will be heartrending.
So; I really enjoyed MERK’s book. No; he is not CAM. He’s his own man and is a man of strength, character, and family. This book was written with wonderful imagery, characterizations, and human emotion. I don’t think our Dear Authoress slings these books out easily at all. I feel the care she’s taken in writing them. I felt this way with the BANTORUS MC Series and in every book since. I appreciate that DEBRA KAYN is such a fine writer.
I would highly recommend this book; as well as the first three in the MOROAD Series. What a journey this series is proving to be and I’m a fortunate reader to be onboard for the ride. It is a privilege to purchase books that read like these do.
Merk is a forty-five year old member of the hard hitting Moroad Motorcycle Club. All he wants is to taste real freedom and a little good in his life. He has spent half his life in prison. His MC family has always been his one constant in his life but now he is on probation with them. He's ready for some pay back to the woman that helped take twelve years of his life away. He wants that timed paid back. Desi Carlyle was the twenty-six year old granddaughter of a gambler. Her whole family were gamblers. She could run a game of pool with the best of them. She was raised by her grandpa Joe after her dad was killed when she was thirteen. The night her life changed. She is feisty and can throw some attitude but is still haunted by that night. The only night she asked for help. Merk and Desi first meeting was not full of warm and fuzzies. Merk is quite and domineering and Desi takes no crap from anyone. She needs no mans approval. She feels a strong attraction to Merk but she does not gamble on love. She can't figure out Merk's possessiveness of her and why he is always around now. Merk knows he will have and possess Desi. He is not a good man and he will do bad things to get what he wants. He still fights the demons on his back every day. Merk and Desi are two broken souls. Merk is always doing the right thing for the wrong reasons or the wrong thing for the right reasons. Nothing in his life is black and white, all shades of gray. He has a goal and he will achieve it and hang on for dear life. Desi is addicted to the adrenaline of the gamble. It is in her blood. The gamble for love is not a game of chance she is willing to take. She was ruined in one night when a man made a scared thirteen year old feel safe. Time Owed blew me away. This is a gritty and dark type of MC romance. Plenty of Moroad MC club action. This is not a hearts and flowers type of romance. Romance comes in all sorts of different packages. The differences between Cam and Merk is still at the fore front of the story. I came to realise that even though the two men don't like each other much they have a deep mutual respect. This book, as with the rest of the series, makes me think outside the box. Secrets destroy and only truth can heal. Great job Debra Kayn. Great read. Note: No cheating.
Finally Merk's story! I've always been a Merk fan since book one! Have always rooted for him and have always felt that both Cam and Christina did him so wrong, yet and still he put up with all of their crap and remained loyal to both of them and the club, that made me like him so much more! So naturally I wanted him to have his HEA with a person who was the complete opposite of doormat Christina...and in enters Desiree!
Initially I thought this book was going down the same path that Cam and Christina's story did, with the whole forceful, dominant relationship thing and that irritated me to no end, because really? Desiree is not at all like Christina, I just couldn't picture her cow towing to everything Merk demanded of her, she was strong and had spirit, that would have broken her and he never wanted that. She was with him because it was her decision to be with him, despite everything she found out...no force necessary...no coercion necessary! Just plain old love! Merk wasn't afraid to admit how he felt, he didn't have this obsessive need to have Desi depend on him and only him and most importantly...he trusted her enough to let his club brothers be around her without thinking she was fucking one of them! His self esteem issues were right where they needed to be. She helped him with his addiction, she helped him with his relationship with Jeremy. They were a good fit for one another and their story shows it since it starts from when Desi is thirteen years old...
Four stars because details about her dad were kind of sketchy though I want to assume that what he did to Roni, he did to other girls but it's all glossed over so it's very confusing. Plus there's not really a lot of intimacy between Merk and Desi, which I found strange since with Cam and Christina, all they did was screw. I guess therein lies the difference between both relationships...Desi has so much more to bring to the table but the intimacy factor is also very important!
Wow! This is such a great read! I'm not surprised though, all of the books in this series are awesome. We first met Merk in Wrapped Around Him, the first book in the series. Just like most of his mc brothers, Merk has been in and out of prison for the majority of his life. During his current state of freedom, he comes to face to face with a girl from his past. However, she is no longer a little girl but a beautiful, sexy woman. The last time he saw her was the night that he killed her father. He decides that he will make her pay him back for the twelve years he lost in prison. He has no idea that this woman is about to turn his world upside down yet again.
Desiree lives above the bar that her "Pop" owns. She is an awesome pool player who loves to gamble. Winning gives her a high like nothing else. When Pop hires a dangerous looking biker for added security, she can't help but be drawn to him. After being forced to spend time together, they each begin to fall hard for one another, but Merk is keeping secrets that have the power to not only destroy their budding relationship, but Desiree's entire life. As if the secrets aren't enough, some dangerous people from her father's past show up and demand that Desiree pay off his old debts. Will Desiree be able to forgive Merk once his secrets are exposed? Will Merk be able to protect her from her father's enemies?
As I stated before, this is an awesome read! I didn't really care for Merk in the previous books, but Debra made me fall in love with him in this book! If you are a big mc fan like me, you will love this entire series!
I wish I could give everyone a copy of Time Owed, in fact I would love to share the complete series with you. Unfortunately, I am limited to trying to get you to invest in the book. This series is different than any other biker series I have read (I have read over 15 different authors-I stopped counting). the Moroad MC series is what many people would refer to as dark. There isn't a lot of happy. There isn't a lot of lovey dovey moments. There isn't a pretty club house and fancy bar. There is a front yard with a fire pit. There is a cooler of beer. And of course there are the women. Mostly, there is a lot of plotting and planning in order to survive in a world without cyclone fence and razor wire. The Moroad members have been hardened by their years in prison. James (Merk) Tamerk is no exception. He used to be the Moroad V.P. until until one night of too much alcohol clouded his judgement. Released from prison , he has one goal--to make Desi pay for 12 years lost. He protected her and she betrayed him. He has secrets. He has plans. He has goals. And he has a weakness-Desi. Within the pages you will discover that there is more to Merk than career criminal. His failures haunt him. His past haunts him. He needs Desi. Through the eyes of a scared 13 year old girl, on one tragic night, he was a savior. She saw good where he saw emptiness. Merk will save her again hoping her green eyes will look back at him with love and acceptance. She will discover his secrets. She will discover his failures. She will still give him a chance at living.
I thought I loved Cam - and I do however, I have fallen in love with Merk! Even though his ass did some shady shit in past books - this book ..... Yeah...... I love Merk! I claim him!
I.Claim.Him!
I was literally holding my breath and on the edge of my seat the entire time. Waiting......waiting for my world to come crashing down.......
Did yall hear me? I claim Merk! ❤️
--------------
I.Claim.Merk! This is my Favorite of all the books. (besides the first - Wrapped Around Him)
Yes, we all hated him when we found out what he did. Trust me..... He's a keeper! After reading his story, I think some of you will change your mind. We see a completely different side to Merk in this one.
After losing 12 years of his life in prison, Merk is out and has one thing on his mind. Time Owed! When Desi walks back into his life - that is all he initially wants from her - Time Owed. ( you will learn why he things she owes him) And she wiggles her way right into his life and maybe a little into his heart. Although he won't admit it.
We learn about so many things in this book as far as Merk goes. Answers will be spoken to questions we all may have had. If you walk away not in love with Merk after this one... yeah... I have no words for you =)
*I was given a copy of this book for a honest review!
MERK! I have been "Team Merk" since Debra Kayn introduced us to him in For Life. Oh, I love Cam, but Merk stole my heart. We all knew he'd been in prison for murdering a man, but when we learn the whole reason of who and why - well, that completely does me in.
Merk has been haunted by the crime, because of a young girl's plea to help her. Being the only witness to the crime, she unwittingly helps to convict Merk for the murder. The young girl, Desi, is now a grown woman, who is one of the best pool hustlers around; and when Merk is hired, by Desi grandfather, to keep her safe, he sees his chance to make her pay for putting him behind bars.
I love Debra's books. It's that simple. She has a way of showing a gritty, ugly side to the Moroad MC, and yet, somehow, she is able to endure these hardened criminals to our hearts. Merk is a haunted soul, and drink is his choice of addiction. Even when Merk was with Christine in For Life, the alcohol is what controlled his actions. Desi has a way of both infuriating him and calming him; and although the alcohol is always a temptation, Merk is finally finding peace with a woman who owes him.
I'm giving this highly anticipated continuation to her Moroad MC series 5 stars! More, Debra! We need More!
You will definitely NOT be disappointed with this book and Merk and Desi's story. Love the way Debra writes when Desiree and Merk comes face to face, she's the girl from his past. This series just keeps getting better and better! Debra did an amazing work writing this book, that's nothing new because ALL of Debra's book are awesome. I had a hate/love relationship with Merk in the first 3 books but I have to say that after reading his story, I think almost all of you will change your mind and feelings for him, I did!! I'm Team Merk all the way!! This book picks up where book three left off. Reading it I discover so many things about Merk 's life, why he lost 12 years in prison, all his anger and frustration and all the feelings of revenge, WOW! The plot will keep you captivated and intrigue until the last page. So, Thank you!! Debra Kayn for another new book boyfriend, my list is getting bigger with all your sexy, hot bikers. I'll not go into the story details but this is a must read book if you are reading the Moroad MC Series or if you love a good biker romance novel. Thanks also to Shauna and the Daydream Believer Book Blog's for the book .
Time Owed is the fourth book in the Moroad MC series and it's Merk's book. Merk is a former VP of the Moroad MC and has spent a large part of his adult life in prison. He's out of prison but still doesn't really feel free. Desi was a scared child when Merk saved her life and promised to protect her and she hasn't forgotten him. Merk wants all those years he spent in prison back and feels that Desi owes him so he decides to claim her. What begins as revenge grows into something deeper and both the characters must come to terms with their past in order to have a future together. I've read the first two books in the series and I felt for Merk even though I disagreed with his actions. In this book his motives for his decisions are explained and I believe that even the readers who were against him will at least understand him. The book has it all, suspense and romance and you could feel the heat between the characters from the first pages. I admire Debra Kayn for her ability to make us understand and love heroes that are not the typical romantic kind, they are real people with real feelings. I'm looking forward to the next book in the Moroad MC, which will be about Jacko!
“I’d rather be carried out by six than judged by twelve.”
James “Merk” Tarmerk hasn’t had an easy life. Raised by alcoholics, he took responsibility for his younger half-sister, but only being a kid himself he wasn’t quit able to protect her from the bad in life. On one such quest, he comes face to face with the unexpected. After many years in jail, he is ready to take back what he lost.
First, I have to say that even though this book is labeled a standalone, I HIGHLY recommend reading Cam and Christina’s story first (Wrapped Around him, For Life and His Crime). Although not technically necessary, reading this book first will ruin the other three. That being said, I have loved Merk since For Life. His actions may not have been favorable, but his heart was sincere and for a bad boy, he’s a good guy. In true Debra Kayn style, this book is raw, gritty, sexy and feels darn real. I loved this book and cannot wait to read about Jacko next. I give this book 5 stars!
This is book #4 in the Moroad MC series but can also be read as a standalone.
We join Merk, who along with the majority of the Moroad members, has spent more time in prison than out. Things haven't been going too smoothly for Merk since his release but he's now determined to chase something in his past. Something that took years of his life but that something has changed, has grown.
It all started with a promise made years ago but it took years to fulfil that promise, and despite keeping his word, he tortures himself daily.
Paths cross, misunderstandings abound and hearts break. This is a real rollercoaster read and emotions run high. Will Merk ever set his demons to bed or will they hound him until his next stretch inside?
I absolutely loved this book and the complex Merk. It's gripping and a utter page turner.
Jacko's story is next and I'm definitely intrigued to get my hands on what is sure to be an exciting book!
MUST READ!!! I'd love to give you spoilers all day but I can honestly say this is a novel worth reading over and over again, hell the series is worth reading over and over. Amazing about sums it up. I was completely head over heels in love with this authors writing with the first 3 books but then Merk's story came out and I couldn't help my self and love him even more then Cam. Team Merk!!! The details into this story for past and present has been truly amazing!!!
