Nine gods ruled the world, until the ultimate betrayal resulted in their destruction. Now, the world is dying and only by restoring the Lost Gods can it be saved.
In the island nation of Kundou, a prince condemned to a dark fate is determined to use it to set free the power his family has long kept enslaved. The fiery kingdom of Pozhar has worked for centuries to forever destroy the god who once tried to kill them, but others are determined to see the last remaining pieces never reach the sacrificial altar for much more dangerous reasons...
In Piedre, zealous cults are determined to either kill or abuse the notorious Basilisk Prince, mortal reincarnation of the lost god of death... Verde, the only country to still love their gods, are preparing yet again to try and restore them in a ceremony that instead always ends in violence and tragedy... And far away in Schatten, sealed from the rest of the world by a dark shadow, the long banned powers of chaos begin to stir...
Megan is a long time resident of queer romance and keeps herself busy reading and writing it. She is often accused of fluff and nonsense. When she’s not involved in writing, she likes to cook, harass her wife and cats, or watch movies. She loves to hear from readers and can be found all over the internet.
I've reviewed the books individually, but the series as whole gets 5 stars for sure. I love getting lost in Megan Derr's worlds. On a side note, I just realized I bought this box set twice, ugh. I've purchased books twice by accident, but a box set? I obviously am losing it, not a cheap mistake. :head desk:
This box set is actually the older version aka unrevised version of the The Lost Gods series. Now that I finished the revised version of this series, I want to read the unrevised. I just can't get enough of this amazing series and it kept nagging at the back of my mind. I might hate it because it'll ruin the image of some characters that I loved or I might love it more than the newer version or I might love both versions because they complement each other....well, only by reading it I will find out the answer. I hope I can finish it though, 1299 pages, haha *sweat drops*

The story is far from perfect but good enough for me. And getting better and more complex all the time. The main reason why I rounded down 3'5 stars to 3 is the terrible editing. Firstly, I don't feel like I came across so many unedited typos as typos that were "fixed" with autocorrect, as well as many punctuation errors, missing or repeated words, sentences with false starts, mistaken character names, etc. It's constant. Secondly, I'm sure it happens with the other languages too, but I only notice the butchered spanish, so that's the one that annoys me. If a writer wants to use spanish they have to be ready to deal with all the things that make it different from english, like the letter ñ, or adjectives with gender and number. I know it's a pain, but if they can't be bothered it's better not using it at all. Also, the tiniest, most basic research to avoid accidentally throwing in a word in italian would have been nice. I can tell a lot of work was put into the worldbuilding and development of the story, but these things make the end result look half-assed.
These books are world-building-PORN! Okay! Like you want to read a book that literally transports you? Well here you go. Each individual story ties in intimately with its brothers without destroying the nuances of the other worlds and characters. The characters are impossible to hate and the story is an original one (finally) these story's keep you on your toes. They also break your heart, and they are worth every second.
