Husband cheats on wife so she had an affair with a young guy from her office but she ends up with the husband in the end.

Disgusting. The husband fucks his daughters best friend and his bullshit was that his wife wasn't giving him attention and expected her to get over it.

All I can say is that super glad the wife ended up fucking some hot younger guy too. Good for her!

I ended up reading it because I was curious and it was easier going in without allowing myself to fee a connection to any of the characters.

The husband does grovel an insane amount and never gives up but I'd still never have forgave him. It was just too disgusting. Also, would he have ever stopped if she didn't catch him? In his POV you know he felt invincible and didn't feel guilty during his affair. He felt like he could have his emotional connection with his wife and sex with some whore who let him fuck her anyway he wanted.

Marriage in Trouble
Second Chances

I stayed up all night reading this. Could. Not. Stop.
(Thank you, Cindy, for pointing out yet another deliciously angsty read.)

Grayson - hero/husband - late 40's
I could not get past Grayson's affair (physical cheating, not emotional). In my opinion, he did not deserve a second chance--this coming from someone who has read a plethora of cheating books. The extent of his betrayal was too great, and the details too devastating. In this case, no amount of groveling would do. He earned an A+ for the grovel, but not a second chance from me. I should add that we are told--not shown--that Grayson had been an exemplary husband before the affair. I didn't hate him, but I hated what he did and the reasoning behind it.

Rachel - heroine/wife - mid 30's
I loved that Rachel didn't martyr herself. I loved that she kicked the cheating bastard to the curb....for the majority of the book. She was likable and relatable. My only gripe was that at one point she started equating her own affair (during the separation) with Grayson's. To me, it was not the same. Her justifications made sense while his only made him look worse. I emphasized with Rachel 100%. I was on her side from start to finish. I wanted him to live with regret for eternity.

Chad - Rachel's new boss/other man (OM) - 20's
Think the movie Unfaithful starring Diane Lane. The sexy scenes with the younger man were incredibly steamy. I looooooved Rachel's affair with Chad, the gorgeous, and very well-endowed 🍆, younger man (by 12 yrs). I don't particularly like tit for tat cheating, or even the reverse age-gap trope, but here, it was fan-fucking-tastic. 👏🏼

Kyla - daughter's best friend/other woman (OW) - 19?
Think Fatal Attraction--lite. Kyla became creepily obsessed with Grayson. I hated her.

HEA?

I maybe alone on my review but I didn't really love this one. I read the synopsis and even a sample of the book before I bought it. It really wasn't the cheating husband that got me it was the relationship that Rachel finds herself in with Chad. It happens so fast after she catches Grayson. Never really felt anything for Rachel hell not even Grayson. And it ended so fast and so easy. One minute she doesn't know what she wants he makes up her mind for her. Then Chad isn't going to be around much longer she cries some more and then boom 6 months have gone by. And now we have a epilogue. I felt cheated I wanted to read and feel them putting their marriage back together not be told. This one wasn't for me but for someone else.

This is one of the most disgusting cheating books I have ever read. If not the number one (there is a Novella that is fighting against this) the zero cheats during 6 months with the daughter’s bff. Heroine caught them in their house because they have been having sex in their house. In their bed. In their kitchen. In their dinner table. The ow is treated like a crazy ow. She is in college. The zero and h always treated her like a daughter. This story is inspired by a real story. I felt so sad by that. So, after knowing her husband has been cheating she starts an affair with a younger guy. He seems pretty nice and they had amazing sex. Good for her but knowing both of them had better sex with op that with each other… he liked that much what the ow was doing to him that he could go to round two almost immediately. No talk about condoms btw. The first time at least the didn’t use because it was so fast that at least the have it in the coffee table next to the sofa they couldn’t have had them. No std talk that I remember. Also, the h says that the om is a better lover because the zero is selfish in bed. This man has minus 100 points.
One of the worst heroes EVER. It was disgusting to hear about how much the ow was begging to be f on the 🍑
I don’t know what happened to the daughter’s mom (I think she is dead) because the daughter is the step daughter of heroine but she treats her like a daughter and she continues to talk and visit her after the father tells her about ow. The zero kept point out that the ow was the one that started all and I’m like bro it’s being going on for six months. She is also a teenager-earlier tweeties (doesn’t justify it) but he was the one married. She has to take blame for her part (the h was like a second mom to her) but not all the bullshit. He was not in love with ow but felt wanted and beautiful after the h didn’t pay him enough attention.
I’m happy she was kicked out of their lives but I wish h stayed with OM.

The husband in this book had a heart attack.

This is the start of the book:

“Thank you for taking the time to read Bereft, the second book in the seven year itch series. It is a stand-alone. It does include cheating, and is another story based on true events. I hope you enjoy it.”

WAIT A MINUTE FRIENDS. I checked book three and the zero from this book dies and the om turns into the zero. He is marry and with a child from the ow. I didn’t see this coming

Firstly, this book isn't something that is going to be appeal to everyone (cheating books never do). For those with cheating, sex-with-other-people issues, I would recommend NOT reading this.

Quick recap (Spoilers ahead. Beware!): the husband, Grayson, ends up having an affair (with the best friend of his daughter) for six months before he is caught by his wife, Rachel. Rachel then proceeds to have her own affair with the young, hot guy from the office, Chad. Her 'fling' with Chad is supposed to be a casual thing, but feelings develops and she finds herself torn between the two of them. She then needs to make a decision in order to move on with her life.

My review:

My main issue with this book is really a stupid reason. It has nothing to do with the cheating (which I will explain in a bit), but more to do with the character names. The heroine's name is Rachel. My name is Rachel. It was written in first person narrative which is my least liked way of writing. Why? Because I'm one of those few who doesn't actually want to put herself in the story. Especially when the heroine shares your name and does the complete opposite to what you would do! lol :)
Also, the "girl" he has an affair with (yes, she was legal age, but ewwww!) is named Kyla. Kyla also happens to be the name of my youngest sister, so I was laughing every time her name came up. Another reason to be pulled out of the story.
Thirdly, Chad is the name of my favourite cousin's soon-to-be ex husband who cheated on her on and off during their rocky marriage. See? Not a great start already.

However, after I mentally changed their names in my head, I started to get sucked into the story. For me, cheating isn't a hard limit for me. Heroes and/or heroines having sex with other people in a story isn't a hard limit either. What I have a problem with is how the characters within the story react and respond to the betrayal. More often than not, the betrayer spends maybe a page or so feeling "bad" about what he/she did, but then getting angry when the one he/she betrayed, doesn't get over it quick enough for his/her liking. I also have a huge problem with third parties putting their two cents in and pretty much guilting the one who was betrayed into forgiving and forgetting. But if someone does cheat (and let's face it; it's more likely to be the hero), then I need to feel that they would do everything and anything they can to make sure their partner knows that it would never happen again and that they sincerely regret how their selfish actions hurt and humiliated the person they vowed to love. Yes, Grayson fucked up (in a vomit-inducing way)! But yes, I really did feel that he realised just how much he fucked up the very best thing to happen in his life. What I didn't agree with was him putting the blame solely on Kyla's shoulders for starting the affair. Like, he had no choice in the matter. And his excuse? Well, it was never really discussed why he chose to break his marriage vows. The only thing that was briefly mentioned was that Grayson and Rachel hadn't had sex in a while and he was feeling old or something.
When Rachel walks in on Grayson and Kyla, she kicks him out of the house and ends up having her own affair with Chad. Do I agree with revenge affairs? No. But am I secretly glad that she got some awesome sex to make herself feel better? Yes I am (and I don't care what that makes me seem like! lol). But like all friends-with-benefits type situations, things called "feelings" get involved and soon it's a mess. Rachel can't decide who she wants to be with. The man who she has loved more than life for the last decade, or the young stud who makes the pain go away.

A lot of "shall I or shan't I" thinking before Rachel ends up choosing to go back to Grayson...but that's only after Chad tells her he's moving across the other side of the country (where he knows she would never go) and Grayson has a heart attack. I do believe that Grayson wouldn't dare stray again - especially not after losing the love and respect of their daughter, Stephanie. He lost too much for something that supposedly didn't mean anything. I still didn't like him by the end, but I certainly felt sorry for him at times.

As messed up as the story was, I actually enjoyed it. I shouldn't, and for all intents and purposes, Grayson and Rachel both annoyed the hell out of me. I would have much preferred that Rachel kick Grayson out, file for divorce and then move on with her life with Chad. But people aren't perfect and I don't need my characters to be either.

3.5 stars.

Very Emotional

This book made me mad, yell, cry, and curse. I went through so many emotions.

Rachel and Grayson have been married for years. However bad choices and betrayal year them apart.

After Grayson's affair, Rachel states she needs time however she doesn't spend that time trying to find closure. Instead it's spent with Chad.

Even though Grayson's infidelity I found myself feeling sad for him with the way things were being handled. I don't want to go into to much.

The book opens with a double whammy for the h.
The (mid 30s) h loses her job of almost 20 years and comes home to find her (almost 50ish) husband of 7 years cheating on her!
So ofc, she loses her sh*t!
(Sits on the stairs and bawls - making the guy and the ow come out of the powder room! Sorry but LOL)
She yells at him to get out to which he replies that he owns the house too, and that his cheating was her fault too as he hadn't been putting out/actively refusing him. Wow!

Imagine being a younger wife ('to her silver fox'), so certain of his constancy despite a lately lackluster love life. Was she foolish?
Well, after being solidly there for him over the years as he deals with the aftermath of a 'certifiably lunatic' ex-wife (who later commits suicide), raising his teenage daughter to adulthood as her own, helping send her to college, not having/ unable to have kids of her own - maybe she thought it was her due.
But she did not contend with the male libido - and a male's need for validation even it is through an ow ...
So, he does walk away after she screams him out.
Next chapter is about his regret and his desperation for wife. His excuse - the girl seduced him and so he took what was on offer - for 6 months, in every room , on every surface (as the girl kindly informs the h later on!)

The h slowly gets her moorings and life back.
It so happens that although the company is closing but the old owner - who's very fond of the h along with his grandson offer her another position. The grandson is going for a new business venture and asks her to join him. She finds focus, changes her look a bit - red nail paint, chops off her hair as the husband loved her long hair and the ow had long tresses as well.
The grandson! Aka the om is a younger guy - early twenties, younger by 12 years - and someone she has seen grow up before her eyes (another predator?! Lol!) during her interaction with family and his visits to the office. She has always thought him spoilt and superficial - also a manhoe. But now he comes through for her - being kind, understanding and gentlemanly when she's going through this immense emotional and mental upheaval.
They become close and one thing leads to another and etc. He was really great - in bed and out of it. Made too perfect imo for such a young guy.
Meanwhile, the husband is despondent - blubbering and bawling mostly (seriously, most of his scenes have him crying - how attractive!) as the daughter also kicks him to the curb after his confession. The ow - the girl really - is stalking him and he's so lost! *clap clap*

Sex - lot of it.
The h and the om really go at it.
(The book has only one husband/wife sex scene.)
Weirdly, while we don't get the husband/girl sex scene when they do it, the author decides that he has to have a detailed flashback even while regretting it
TY! 0.o

So, who does the h pick at the end?

But yes, we have a sequel - not so great if we believe the reviewers.
This poor woman never has it easy!

Well. Another cheating novel in the realm of romance novels done wrong. I'll try to be as objective as I can in this review.

Grayson (the hero) did grovel A LOT but unfortunately the circumstances of his cheating right at the beginning of the story destroyed any chances of his redemption for readers.

He cheated on the heroine that he already loved and married NOT because: 1) she didn't love him, 2) he needed to sacrifice himself to protect her, 3) he was drunk or drugged or emotionally/mentally unstable at the time, 4) he had severe commitment or abandonment issues which the OW preyed on, 5) he had a history of self-sabotaging behaviours, 6) he thought she betrayed him first.
[These are all pretty common plot devices used to redeem the cheating in romance novels).

None of these options excuse any form of cheating whatsoever but it does create a possible way for the readers to sympathize/understand or even relate to his mistakes, thus setting the premise for a potential redemption later on. Unfortunately, Grayson falls in option 7) he was bored with his married life and his wife wasn't passionate enough.

Add these following elements to the cheating and you have a train wreck doomed to happen:
(SPOILERS AHEAD!)

- The OW was his daughter's best friend
- He would have carried on the affair if he hadn't been caught.
- There was no guilt whatsoever during the affair. It empowered and reinvigorated him instead.
- Readers had to read the very scene when the OW seduced him (the issue with such scenes is that the author is embedding that very image into the readers' mind. We've experienced it "firsthand." Just like how the heroine couldn't erase the image of catching her husband with the OW, it's the same for the readers).
- When he was finally caught, he blamed the heroine for it instead of showing his regrets right away.

All of the above is perfectly realistic and understandable of course, but it sets in motion the circumstances for the romance to fail in the novel. Because of this (and add on the heroine's choices to pursue her own affair afterward in explicit details), it didn't feel like a romance novel at all, but rather a family drama type of novel where the characters were together for too long, their marriage suffers from a dry spell and they lose sight of what held them together in the first place.

So here's my rating for Bereft: 3 stars as a family drama type of fiction, 0 as romance. That averages to 1.5 stars.

This was an enjoyable read and was a page turner but what this lacked for me was emotional connection to the characters. I did get invested in the story as I wanted to see the way it would go by the end and while I was not surprised at the ending I felt for Chad and would love to see him get his HEA.

So I enjoyed reading this marriage in trouble books. The fmcs character was really well developed. Plus the mmc shows remorse and regret for betraying the fmc. This is something I like to see in books if one partner was betrayed no matter if the fmc moves on or not. I want to see the mmc saying, " Im a dumbass and my thinking with my second head instead of my brain led the best woman I will ever be with to walk out of my life". A round of applause to the author for making my wish come true in this book.

What I did I just read. I can't stop laughing.

I've never read anything with an ending that's this anti-climactic. This was only 200ish pages and by page 50 I couldn't wait for it to be all over.

The "real" HEA's supposed to be in the next book. I wish I knew that before starting this.

i don't know how to write this review honestly.

Late 40s MMC has a 6-month affair with daughter's best friend 19-year-old OW claims she came onto him and never would have done it otherwise. OW also basically grew up in the same house called FMC mom.

We even have to read this interaction which was honestly one of the most disgusting thing I read in romance books, they do it in FMCs house her couch WHICH IS STILL THERE and MMC says it was so good i didn't have to wait do it twice back to back

we then learn they constantly did it in the house and multiple rooms which FMC catches them in powder room, but we never learn if they had the audacity to do it in their bedroom, i also don't remember any condom talk

They don't even sell the house, and we learn they even did it in MMCs office.

They villainize the OW turning her into an obsessed stalker etc.

FMC and daughter breaks after learning this understandably, MMC spends the rest of the book crying throwing up begging (he also had some weird audacity when FMC catches them saying he was not gonna leave) MMC also has a heart attack in the end he says he was going to die alone which he should have (and he does lmaoooo)

FMC goes to dating her new boss Chad who is 10 years younger and MMC watches them do it feeling jealous

But then near the end author talks weird saying FMC also killed the marriage by dating the boss after learning her husband cheating ?????

Anyway, I am happy to know they end up together.

I liked this because even though the FMC ended up with the cheating FMC, she still got 💅🏽her💅🏽clap💅🏽back.

Furthermore she fell in love with him, the hot, young, gorgeous OM she had an affair with.
Which thank God cuz I am tired of cheap pigs MMC who got away with affairs with young women. Not to mention, the MMC’s affair is with his daughter’s best friend and it continued for 6 months! He wouldn’t have stopped if he didn’t got caught!

And and he suffered so bad. I’m telling ya I’m cackling about it. Here we have the distressed wife who caught them on the act and afterwards she proceeded to be the boos of her career, had an emotional and physical affair with her YOUNG HOT BOSS and admitted to the MMC that she fell in love with him HAHAHAHAHA 😮‍💨.
The MMC was a mess, he cried, he sobbed, he bawled, he begged but we wouldn’t know if the FMC would choose him at the end if the OM didn’t walked away out of the goodness of his heart. Since the FMC all throughout the book was DONE as in OVER with the MMC and wanted divorce. Even when she was with her husband she would miss the OM 🤩

That saying, the ending, where he got a heart attack and the scene in the hospital where he cried and admitted that he thought he would die alone and that at least he would die trying to win over his wife got me teary-eyed.

i did enjoy the groveling and that man crying though

oh wait he dies in the next book and she finally gets back with the guy who deserves her!!!

**DEBBIE'S 4 KINDLE SLAMMING STARS REVIEW**

I could not wait to get my hands on this book. Author Jennifer Foor is know to write some seriously angsty books. Her books tend to draw out all sorts of emotions in me and this one without a doubt had me extremely angry.

About a ¼ of the way into this book I could not stand Grayson. There was not one redeeming quality about him. He feels bad for what he did? Let me get out the finger violin you asshole!!!! I wanted to junk punch him!!! Those thoughts went through my head several times while reading this book. He was so selfish and did not stop to think that what he did could destroy his family. He kept crying and all I kept thinking was; All these crocodile tears pleez!!! Am I supposed to feel sorry for you? Nope not happening. At one point his scumbag number increased majorly. He was an adult and needed to own up to the fact that he was the one that slept with someone else to make himself feel better.

“She came onto me. She said things to me, and threw herself at me. I’d never mae a move on my own. I never even considered it.”

“I was involved with two woman, one emotionally, and one physically.”

Don’t get me wrong because Grayson was not the only one that pissed me off reading this book. I felt bad for Rachel at first I really did. Here is the thing though; as the story progressed she really turned into a selfish bitch herself. She was angry at what her husband did and I totally get that. What I don’t get is what she did for revenge. I felt it was pretty childish and she should of handled things differently. A few times I wanted to smack her upside the head and tell her to grow up already.

“Betrayal is ugly. It shows its face like vicious prey looking to kill its next victims. We did that on our own. We make the choices that set our lives into a whirlwind of regret. We choose to let the people we love down.”

A few things in this book I thought were far fetched but overall I enjoyed the story. The chemistry between the characters felt real and the story flowed really well. I liked how it was fast paced and the author did not waste time with useless page fillers. I look forward to reading more Jennifer Foor books.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series.I don't know why I love reading about other couples heartache and mistakes.....but I do.

I found this one way more emotional than the first.I truly felt devastated for what had happened.I really liked Grayson, even after what he had done.I didn't condone it,but I saw how it could happen. For some reason I was more upset with Rachel for giving into the same lust as him just to get back. Two wrongs don't make a right I guess.

Jennifer Foor can really pull at your heartstrings.Emotional men tear little pieces of my heart out.You could feel Grayson's regret dripping off of him and the love he had for Rachel.

This was a great story about true love winning in the end.How we all make bad decisions and often don't think with the right part of us.

I devoured this in a day and that is not my normal.

Can't wait for book 3.

***3.5 You Cheat, I Cheat Stars***

Wow...Grayson and Rachel's story was a hard pill to swallow. I have to say that I hated both character's so much through out the book and yet my heart went out to them. Grayson was a selfish, arrogant and cruel to so extent. To me Rachel was oblivious, self absorbed, and naïve to believe what she was doing was ok. Chad on the other hand was amazing and yet I feel he took advantage of Rachel but yet she was so easily willing. I felt that Chad was the most stand up adult in this book and I did enjoy him. Even though I do not condone cheating, I just had to read this book to see how it all played out.

Bold move on this author. Just much too unforgivable lmao. He's not just a cheater he's an actual terrible father and human being. Honestly questioned if he is mentally all there. Her taking him back is insane and I'll forgive a lot in these types of books. Love seeing if an author can pull off enough emotional nuance to keep me invested. Literally no one could pull this plot off tho lol only unreadable books get one star and only reason it gets two is that it's professionally edited.

Couldn't deal with the husband. It was both women's fault. Never his. Just a mistake. 100s of times over 6 months with a girl he saw as a daughter... but it was her fault & a mistake. It was his wife's fault.

Irredeemable character. & the ending...

Neither had a lick of self-respect & they both deserve each other for sticking it out.

Mistake. Accident. Pfft. Every word was how Grayson was a victim. Choked on it.

This book was pretty straightforward, but very emotional. The whole series seems to revolve around some form of infidelity, and Bereft follows that theme closely.

The husband and wife have been married for a couple of years. He has a daughter from a previous relationship, and at first he had been happy in his marriage. But when his wife became too busy with work, he started feeling neglected and ended up having an affair with his daughter’s best friend — a much younger woman.

When the wife discovers the affair, walking in on them unexpectedly, she is devastated. She immediately distances herself from him and files for divorce. He ends the affair, realising it was only lust, and we can really feel his remorse, self-disgust, and resentment toward himself. At the same time, we feel her heartbreak so clearly.

I especially loved that she started another relationship with her younger boss. It was refreshing to see her regain some control, while also making him truly suffer and face the consequences of his betrayal.

In the end, the husband tries to reconcile by asking her to go away for the weekend. The boss eventually walks away, almost making the decision for her. When the husband later suffers a heart attack, it pushes them to face their reality. After six months of separation, they finally reunite and begin the difficult process of rebuilding their marriage.

This story balances remorse, heartbreak, and a realistic look at the messy process of forgiveness. The sequel continues their journey after they come back together, which I’m looking forward to.

I knew this series would be angsty . I read Binge but then I purposely left Bereft off my reading list. Then saw the note for Belong indicating it included characters from Bereft, so I locked my heart away and decided to tackle it. It was everything I thought it might be and so much more. The author took a situation where I was sure I would feel one way - which I did, then persuaded me I felt ANOTHER way, then persuaded me back again.

My reluctance to read Bereft was because of the infidelity aspect. Binge has some, but there was something different in the description of Bereft that made me wary. Maybe because it's the first thing we get into in the storyline, but my angst over that was more mellow then I thought. Grayson cheats on Rachel, gets caught, and he is extremely remorseful. So, I felt for him a bit - I had some sympathy - just not much. But I didn't expect to have any at all and to have that sympathy GROW over the length of the book left me perplexed.

Then, Rachel's "revenge" affair. Maybe it's a double standard but I gave her a pass and it looked like it was going to be short-lived. But that doesn't go the way we expect and it left me rattled. Rachel finds herself in a true battle. She's hurt and healing at the same time - Grayson gets her anger, and Chad is really helping to rebuild Rachel. He's her transformation and so chad gets her adoration.

Then something happens in the story, there's this moment where we can feel her desperation. She knows what she wants - how she should move forward in her life but it doesn't did not match up with the way she's being pushed. I felt Rachel's heartbreak in this and I felt it to the core. It was this key moment that me feeling more sadness for her than when she initially learns about her husband's betrayal (which was beyond painful)

I did struggle with Grayson's betrayal because it wasn't a betrayal of the heart. He didn't fall in love outside of his marriage but it's a betrayal that shows he clearly lost respect for his wife. And Rachel, I struggled with her running from Grayson straight into another man's arms which left her no time to grieve. Grayson says she's co-dependent and that was exactly how it felt. But underlying that was something else completely - Chad was so much more than I she would have ever predicted he would be. I'm usually one for a married couple reconciling, but I felt Rachel's conflicted emotions and shared in. From there on out the events that drive her towards healing is so different then you expect. And I was happy with it, with the ending, but still so conflicted. I kept thinking "what if..." So now I can read Belong :-)

Jennifer Foor does an excellent job manipulating my feelings. Bereft is a 5 star read w/ recommendation!

I usually am able to finish books— not this one. Cheating is a trope i sometimes dabble but it’s a tough read. Mix a love triangle with another man (i hate love triangles) and it was unbearable and not in the way you’d want a second chance romance w cheating to feel like. It just got worse and worse.

Grayson, the husband, cheats on Rachel with his daughter’s best friend… that’s bad enough. He grovels a lot so i guess i got what i was looking for.

Rachel… my god. I just don’t understand it. The minute she finds out about Grayson’s infidelity she basically sleeps with another man, Chris, who’s not only younger than her but her coworker. Not only that but literally as soon as that happens she develops this kind of codependent behavior towards Chris that annoyed me. Literally one paragraph was about how she missed Grayson and how she wished things could go back to what they were, and the next paragraph she’s practically begging Chris to have sex with her or something similar. She’s with Grayson but texts Chris after he told her to give Grayson a chance.

The entire time i was wondering where the fuck did Rachel leave her independence, her logic… I find it difficult to see how she’s having a rough time with her husbands infidelity when all she does is fuck Chris.

I couldn’t finish it. Hope you can.

Jennifer Foor, you are simply amazing!!! However, this book had me seeing red I was pissed off!! And I mean that in the nicest way possible. LOL

Let’s just I really hate Grayson. He’s an asshole in my book. Jennifer wrote a character that I absolutely can’t stand – I have nothing but sheer anger towards.

Rachel – I am 50/50 on her. I get how she feels. She goes back and forth on things. But she goes and does the same thing as her husband. So is she just as shitty as he is.

Ok – now that I got my bitchfest over about those two – let me tell you that I absolutely love that Jennifer holds nothing back in this story. It’s true to life, it’s raw and real. There isn’t any sugar coating. This story will have you pissed off and mad; yet you will find yourself warring over who you to be together. What outcome you really want.

I know I may not care for the characters. Wait – let me rephrase that. I don’t care for the decisions they made but my reaction to them is a good thing. Jennifer was able to make me feel something that fierce with her writing. Jennifer wrote an honest and true story.

I didn’t get to read the first book in this series, but I am definitely going to fix that.

I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to more

So many things bothered me about this story. Cheating is always a tough subject, but who the husband (Grayson) cheats with, is in my opinion, completely unforgivable - his daughter's best friend. GROSS! Anyway, our heroine, Rachel ends up having a tryst of her own after she discovers her husband's indiscretion. All the while, the little saying "two wrongs don't make a right", keeps going through my mind. On top of it, who she cheats with is her employer's grandson, Chad. Chad hires her when the grandfather's company is ready to close it's doors because the grandfather wants to retire. Another no-no in my book. Never "shit where you eat"; sleeping with the boss is not a good thing. Be that as it may, I liked Chad the best out of all the main characters.

The last couple of chapters wrap things up too quickly and neatly. I wasn't sold on the outcome, but again, whatever. I needed to get to the end of it.

My last statement is about grammar - I don't know who edited this, but I found lots of missed or incorrect words and then horrible tense usage... the term "I'd chose" was used several times. Uh, isn't is supposed to be "I'd chosen"??

Chad, the best character and the other man, was the very last word in this book. It's symbolic of how messed up the couple is. Grayson didn't deserve that second chance and he is the most despicable man I've ever read about. But I'm more disappointed with Rachel for her decisions. She should've chosen Chad

How did the author manage to make the husbands affair the wife’s fault. The man slept with his daughters childhood best friend for 6 months and had zero intentions of stopping, but somehow the wife keeps getting guilted. I hate this book. Grayson deserves nothing good and she should have ended up with Chad.
