My Background : Professional and Licensed Electrical Engineer This book by Boylestad is one of the most conceptual book in Electrical Engineering I have ever read. The concepts are explained in a very easy to understand English language and the style of the book is very story like and explains the concepts in friendly tone unlike B.L Theraja where too much focus is on technicalities. There are a lot of simple to understand examples for concepts as why Voltage in an inductor leads the current and vice versa in the capacitor. The example in this case was given a famous quote as "ELI the ICE Man". Its been more than 3 years that I out of my graduate school and today being a professional engineer I still remember this short line.
Besides the text, the book is also a standard text book in my opinion. The examples start from the simple ones and gradually builds up more concepts and they start to get difficult. Though you will not feel them much difficult if you are practicing the concepts well and solving the previous exercises well. Problem sets are also exemplary.
In short, in my studies of Electrical Engineering, I used this book almost 3 years as a reference and as a supplement. Therefore, I highly recommend anyone to buy this book if they are considering it currently.
Pretty Standard Textbook, there is nothing more to say. But, I wish it had gone a little more into mathematical aspect of it. I had to go for other aspects to actually understand and get to the real heart of all the Circuit analysis. I had an old edition bought during the college days and I got to read it again. Problems are pretty standard.
More in equipoise compared to Hayt-Kemmerly-Durbin or Alexander-Sadiku's ones. Felt it in case of each chapter. You might utilise the other two for exercises, but the theory here is more poised. But the presentation should have been more winsome.
