This is the 10th book in the series and it isn't getting old. I don't know how Tina Folsom does it! Each book brings something new and exciting to the series which I love so much.
This book features Luther, a vampire we first meet in the second book. It's set 20 years into the future, and a lot has changed. All the vampire couples have teenage children.
The next books are going to feature a new group of vampires, and I hope it's based on my favourite couples children.
I cant wait to see what this series has in store next!
I love all of Tina Folsom's books, but her Scanguards series is phenomenal. This book was no let down. I liked how I was able to fall in love with Luther right along side Katie (Kimberly). This book also sheds some light onto the children of the previous books, which hopefully will have their own books! There was not a lot of mention about the regulars, Samson, Gabriel, Amaury, and Thomas but I liked that. This was a stand alone read, meaning you do not have to read all the other books in the series to enjoy this one. Another favorite for me. Now just to wait for the next one!

FIVE SET YOUR HEART RACING STARS!!!! If you love romance and vampires, then this is your series of books!! Each book is about a different character and they are all out of this world Great!! I can not get enough of the ScanGuards!!! Tina Folsom nailed it in the very beginning with Samson and Delilah!(One of my favorites) You will fall in love with all the characters in your own special way. I can't pick a favorite!! In this one, Luther and Katie couldn't be any more different if they tried. Katie is an actress who gave up Hollywood to live a normal life and to be around the people that she loves who are true to her. Luther, has just been released from prison after serving a 20 year sentence. When these two collide together there is something there that neither one can deny no matter how hard they try. Katie wants to find love but that is a road the Luther swears he will never go down again. I know this is book 10 but I hope Mrs.Folsom will continue to write many more in this series. Absolutely Loved It!!!!!
When Luther is released after serving 20 years in a secret vampire prison, he returns to Scanguards in San Francisco to try to atone for the crimes he committed against Samson, Delilah, Amaury and Nina. Unfortunately, he arrives just in time to be accused of the abduction of Isabelle, Samson and Delilah's daughter. Once he assures everyone that he had nothing to do with it (it was a pretty big coincidence, after all!), he decides to do what he can to help rescue her. AND, once he discovers that the actual target of the kidnapping was not Isabelle, but another woman, Katie Fairfax, all of his protective instincts kick in, and keeping Katie safe from harm becomes as important to him as seeing Isabelle safely rescued.
I loved both main of the main characters. Luther is a tough ex-VCon (that's short for Vampire Convict), who's convinced that he's had and lost his chance at love, and that his lot in life is to remain alone. He's even convinced himself that he prefers it that way. Until Katie barges into his life. And barges she does! She's a no-nonsense woman who's seen and experienced the worst of what humanity has to offer, and yet hasn't become cynical. She knows what she wants, and that's Luther. It's pure pleasure watching these two fall in love, even though they refuse to admit that's what it is. As far as they're both concerned, they'll be together till they can rescue Isabelle, then go their separate ways. Neither one wants to see what we've been seeing all along!
Every time Tina Folsom writes a new Scanguards book, I always tell myself that this one couldn't possibly top the last one. It was true of Oliver's Hunger, it was true of Thomas's Choice, it was true of Cain's Identity, and it's true of this one. And each time I'm proven wrong! Somehow each book manages to be better and hotter than the one before it! The same is true of Luther's Return. This is the best Scanguards yet! Dare I hope that #11, Blake's Pursuit, will be even better? Blake was a real stand-out character in Luther's Return. He went from being the entitled, spoiled rich kid we first met several books back, to being a responsible, smart, ultra-cool-in-a-crisis guy with real main character potential, and I can't wait to see where Tina Folsom takes him!
Whoop, whoop! I am so happy I was not dissapointed in this story. As soon as I new this book was being released, I could not wait to read it! Luther was the super bad guy in Amuray's Hellion, book 2 in the series. I always wondered if there was a chance Luther could be redeedmed.
That chance has come after spending 20 years in prison for his crimes. Luther returns to San Francisco to try and make amends with Samson and Aumury, but on that very night Samson's daughter Isabella is kidnapped. This puts Katie and Luther directly in each other's path. Sparks fly immediately. Circumstances allow Luther and Katie the opportunity to help find Isabella snd also explore their attr action to each other.
I loved this story. Luther is still the strong alpha male he always was, but he's also been humbled and is truly sorry for what he'd done. Katie is stubborn and has an inner strength that is admirable. Plus she doesn't do any stupid stuff. Yay!
I absolutely love the Scanguards world. The blood bond is one of the best bonding of mates in all my PNR reading-IMO anyway. Blake is next and I can not wait! With all the kids that have been born to this group, I hope Tina Folsom has many, many more books planned in this series. Bring them on! Happy reading!!
This story contains such a passion and a tenderness with a touch of humor that anyone would love. A very well written story. Luther, an ex V-CON is someone who we have met before apparently but as an older reader of this series, I can't remember his story but in this book it was explained in details that you won't feel the need to do a reread of previous books. Katie, the sister of Haven and Wesley as we know had a past too and was discussed in previous books, was perfect match for Luther. In this book, they hit it off pretty quick in a passionate that anyone would feel jealous of. Two people who are crazy about each other. I adore these two. The children grew up and they are in their teens and also young adults. Blake grew into such a man that I was happy to see. Very tough and responsible. Loved seeing more of Samson. His authority figure is something to behold. Lovely and passionate story as I said. Truly loved and enjoyed it.
This is another exciting addition to the Scanguard series, and I enjoyed it tremendously. Only Tina Folsom can turn a villain into a hero, and she does it quite nicely in Luther's Return. His back story was the perfect set-up, and I wonder if she had it planned all the time.
Just listened to the audible book and loved it just as much as I did reading it. Eric dove is great. Happy reading!
Awesome Read, I loved the Scanguards Vampires and glad to see them back, can't wait for the next book. Hope it's not a long wait. Then again I'm bias because I love the Scanguard Vampires.
I have to give it to Tina. Every time I read her newest release I say to myself "this one is the best or even the hottest one yet." But hot damn Tina, I don't think this could have gotten any hotter. I loved Luther's Return. I thought this was the perfect story for Luther.
Katie omg I just love her. She grew up being wronged. She was a Hollywood star with no family. Found her family in Yvette's Haven. Found herself working as drama teacher. Something goes haywire and she finds herself with Scanguards enemy. Will she be able to work with him? Or will everything go wrong? Read Luther's Return today and find out.
Luther I have to admit I didn't think any Scanguard could beat Amuary's Hellion. But after reading this, yeah I was so wrong. Luther is the type of man a girl dreams about. After being free he falls into a situation where his help his needed by Katie. He has always brought his mind back to his past. Will his past push him away from Katy or will his push his way past it and love again?
I so recommend you check out Luther's Return. It has the action, the love, and the oh snap I did not see that coming. Tina Folsom is just amazing.
Damn, already checking out the next book and I am mind blown. Passed evil dude and little miss star come back to take the spot light this time. Sold!
So I started late on getting to this book, want wait till the next one got closer to being release. Never like waiting to long. Any who...I LOVED IT!! It was like a blast to the future and really cute. Not bad at all when all kids came in to the role as young adults. Very welled played, I liked how Luther came back and just fell for Katie. I won't say to much on how exciting I felt. That feeling of not wanting to put a book down, this is the kind of stuff I miss the most when it comes to reading books. Now I can say next book please :)
Loved it. I really love the sizzle between these two. And the relationship with Samson and Luther through this. Who else to come to the rescue for Sam & Dal's daughter, but the arch enemy....the vamp who tried to take out the mates? Katie is so cute and strong. She made no apologies about who she was....Loved seeing the kids grown up...well sorta on their way to grown up. Are we seeing a future match up? Wes and Rox?

Luther has been held in vampire prison for twenty years. He has done his time for trying to kill Sampson and Amaury's mates and while at the time he thought that his actions were justified, he regrets that he didn't trust his friends. The first thing he does once he's released is head to San Francisco to apologize so that he will be able to get on with his life. He knows that he failed his mate when it mattered most and that it was no one's fault but his own that she died and he needs for them to know that. Things don't always go as planned though. Luther arrives the same night that Sampson's daughter disappears and the Scanguards are positive that Luther has played a part in her disappearance. Will hatred and fear make them realize that he's telling the truth or will fear of what happened in the past blind them to what's happening now?
Katie Fairfax has had lifetime of problems. She's tried to put them all behind her when she left Hollywood and she now teaches drama at a college in San Francisco. When a last minute change in the lineup for the play that she's both directing and playing a part in leads to one of her pupils disappearing, she knows that it's her fault and she'll do anything to help find her, even if that means teaming up with the enemy.
This story takes place twenty years after Amaury's Hellion and boy have a lot things changed within the Scanguards families. If you've read the other stories, you know who has married whom but here you find out just how large those families have become. Isabella is of course the oldest hybrid child and is now twenty but almost all of our favorite characters now have children as well and most have more than one. While it was a little difficult to remember who belongs to who since there are so many children now, the family tree at the front of the book helps with sorting it all out. I'm in hopes that these children, many on the verge of adulthood, will be in future books and that we can continue to watch them grow and see where their lives will lead.
Now back to Luther and Katie's story. I have fallen in love with a villain. From his very first meeting with Katie, you will remember her from book 4 as she is Haven and Wesley's little sister, Luther feels drawn to her just as much as Katie feels drawn to him. Luther can't say seem to say no to her and finds himself right back where he started from, back in the vampire prison. This book was amazing and has long been one of my favorite series. Tina is an amazing writer that does a great job in linking each book to the others so that you can honestly pick up reading anywhere in the series and be fine but trust me when I say that if you haven't read this series, it's best to just start at the beginning because you are in for one hell of ride!
This was definitely one of the fastest paranormal erotica series I have encountered in a while. I literally sped through 10 books within 2-3 weeks mainly because I’ve been listening to them during my commute and at work (don’t tell anyone). And I found that I actually really enjoyed this series. I was expecting one of those series that was a little trashy and more on the erotica side without any real plot but I was surprised to see how much of a plot each book had. Plus, it also helped that every book was about a different couple within the inner circle of the Scanguards group so their little family grew more and more with each book. I suppose it was really smart of Tina to come up with this idea because now that she has a fan base for this series, she can literally build this series to a never ending one with new characters and building relationships with old ones. It’s quite genius, really.
Out of all the books, I don’t think I had a particular favorite one. There were a few that stood out to me specifically Gabriel’s Mate and Zane’s Redemption only because I thought Gabriel’s story had a huge surprise where I was, like, WTF. And I liked Zane’s story because he went from this badass to a softie when it came to Portia. It was quite endearing. The one book I wasn’t a particular a fan of was Thomas’ Choice only because I realized that I wasn’t a fan of reading about gay sex. I have nothing against it but listening to it just didn’t really appeal to me.
So the one thing that probably irked me throughout this entire series is the fact that each book has a couple where they literally meet and fall in love within a week and then decide to blood bond which is something for life. Literally. You cannot get out of it unless one of you dies. It just seemed to unrealistic and mind-boggling to me. How can you fall in love with someone within one week and decide to make such a drastic step for life? The one book that pretty much circumvented that was Oliver’s Hunger where they actually have a relationship first for some time before tying the knot.
Overall, I found the series to be overall very entertaining and highly interesting. The sex scenes were very intense, of course. I also enjoyed the action scenes a lot especially when someone is getting kidnapped and needs to be rescued. Now that I think of it, almost all of the books have the girl getting kidnapped and needing to be rescued by the guy…hmm.
I enjoyed Luther's Return. Its the story of Luther West who we meet in bk1 of the Scanguard series. Luther is the villain in Samson and Dehlilah's story. He tries to kill Samson and Amaury's mate Dehlilah and Nina. He blames them for the death of his wife Vivian and unborn child. .Luther returns to ask for forgiveness after a 20year stint in the Vampire Prison. It is hard on a readers to except the villain as now the hero of the story. But Tina Folsom does a good job in turning Luther's character around and making him likable.
Luther returns at the same time Samson and Delilahs daughter Isabelle/Isa has been kidnapped. Of course they think he did the deed. She has been mistaken for Katie Montgomery. Who has a stalker after her. She was a big movie star sex symbol type actress know as Kimberly Fairfax. After being stalked and brutalized before she has left the movie business and is living and working as a drama teacher close to her brother the Vampire Haven and her Witch brother Wesley the 3 were know in the past as the Power of Three the most powerful witches in the world.
The story is full of action scenes, hot sex scenes between Luther and Katie, Lust or Love I couldn't tell. Its also a story of Luther rebuilding his life, redemption and forgiveness. It has a little twist at the end. So, why 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Well its because it was ordinary, nothing I haven't read in the past Just different author same story!! However it was good and entertaining. it's Always good to catch up an re visit all the old characters from previous stories in the series.
Luther threatened Amaury's mate and Samson's mate early in the series and was sent to vampire prison for it. Many years have passed since then, and Luther is full of remorse as he gets out of prison. When Samson's daughter is kidnapped white Luther is in the area, Samson is not in a forgiving mood.
Katie, the daughter's drama teacher, soon realizes that she was actually the real target of the kidnapping. She and Luther team up to find Isabel.the attraction between them is strong, but how can they have a future when he's an outcast among the San Francisco vampire community?
I enjoyed Luther and Katie's story. I also enjoyed seeing everyone 15-20 years later than the last time we saw them. Many of the couples have had children that we're introduced to, and Blake has become strong hero material. It's Scanguards, a the Next Generation. I look forward to many more books!
OMG….who would have thought that a previous villain would become the love of my life!!
Luther’s 20 year imprisonment definitely gave him plenty of time for reflection, but while torture at the hands of the guards left physical scars, his conscience provided the mental ones.
On his release from prison and with intentions of seeking atonement, he stumbles upon the kidnapping of a Scanguards family member and ends up being accused of the crime. What follows is an unexpected romance, mystery and intrigue, and the inevitable danger that always ensues when the these territorial, aggressive Vampires are involved.
This would definitely have to be one of my favourite stories of the series and Luther is a humble, honourable and deserving hero.
I have been waiting for the next book in this series and Mrs. Folsom did not disappoint. This book was awesome! I read it in two days and now I can't wait for the next one. The plot was perfect and love story was awesome. I am so happy Luther got a book. I feel like I should start this series over and read them all. Just for the hell of it! Great Book!! Read it you won't be disappointed. #lovethyvillian
Luther is back and this time he is here to make amends, his timing however sucks. Samson's daughter is kidnapped and Luther is the first suspect. Katie realizes quickly that she was supposed to be the one kidnapped and seeks out Luther's help. Like a typical leading male, Luther does not want a relationship and love but he didn't know what he was getting into with the witchy, former actress.
I did not, for a second, imagine that Katie would end up with Luther. That totally threw me off track. I was not able to wrap my head around it so I didn't fully enjoy it. I, however, look forward to Blake's book!!!
Luther!? Really? I must say Tina out did herself. I must have been jones for a Scanguard fix. 20 years later and Luther is BACK!!!!! Less than 24 hours and it is read and done!!!!
