3.5 stars, rounded up because I liked the setting. I think I have had a similar problem with most of her books - I often find her execution lacking. It's probably just a matter of taste - and it's not like I don't enjoy myself when reading her novels. But it always feels like it could be even better, and that actually lessens my enjoyment a bit.
