It's been way too long since the last installment and honestly, I thought Ms. Palmer had let this series go. From what I remember, the plan for this series was to have five books but now cut to a trilogy. I know it hasn't gotten the same attention as her other series, and it's a shame because Vamp City is a good one. For its last hurrah, Palmer ended Quinn's story with a big bang! It was quite impressive.

Vamp City is an alternate world where vampires and others alike exist away from humans and most importantly, away from the harmful rays of the sun. It was built from pure magic making it a safe haven for many. Unfortunately, after years of magic protection, Vamp City is long overdue to renew its magic or it will be on its way to destruction. Make the long story short, Quinn Lennox, who is very connected to that magic, is their only hope. With the help of her friends and her beau, Quinn will learn to hone her skills and will take down anyone who gets in her way.

This last installment is not as dark as the first two books. It still had the post apocalyptic feel to it but it wasn't as somber. In fact, it had a subtle feel of hope and that I-will-fight-for-what-I-want vibe to the whole story especially when it came to Quinn and Arturo. But none of it was rushed. I like that there was a slow build-up of their second chance at love. I really like how their relationship turned out. It wasn't perfect but the mutual love and respect was there. Turo was ever so sexy and Quinn had her annoying moments but overall she was pretty kick ass. She really came through for everyone in VC and I have to say that the battle at the end was pretty intense. A couple of side stories got their happy ending. Some were not so happy, but everything seemed to close out nice and neat.

If you're looking for a UF trilogy, this is a perfect choice. It has a good dose of adventure, romance, a sexy hero and a pretty strong heroine.

This was the conclusion of the Vamp City trilogy. I loved book one. It was dark and gritty and really different. The second book was not as good but I still enjoyed it. This one......not so much. It was much lighter in tone and while I wasn't loving it it was moving along ok until about the 60% mark. Then all of a sudden the heroine becomes TSTL and makes one ridiculous decision after another which results in one ridiculous plot change after another. It seemed to just go on and on and on AND ON. I couldn't wait for it end. Very disappointing end to what started as a great series.

Of Blood and Passion wraps up Pamela Palmer's Vamp City trilogy very nicely. If you haven't read the first two books, best skip this review.

The city is breaking apart and Quinn is the only one with the power to save it. And, now that Quinn's Blackstone magic has awoken, she's teamed up with Arturo, Micah and Kassius to destroy the enchanted sword, Escalla. In doing so, they hope to save Quinn's brother Zach who is suffering from a magical illness, as well as Vamp City and those who inhabit it. The only problem, a big problem, the sword is in Cristoff's possession. Having escaped from him twice already, Cristoff is determined to capture and kill Quinn. Yet, she will do anything, including risk her life, to save the life of her brother.
"Love means taking risks ... It's what life is all about.
Quinn's magic isn't the only thing that's grown stronger since she first arrived in V.C., her feelings for Arturo are stronger than ever, though she continues to worry he may betray her again and she's opened herself to new friendships. Whereas she first didn't care if V.C. was destroyed, she now cannot bear the thought of failing those she now calls friend as well as those trapped here through no fault of their own.
"... the tale of the Healer and the Snake ... together, you will save the world"
Many of the vampires in V.C. are regaining their soul thanks to Quinn's magic and now they're prepared to fight by her side, protecting the Healer who could save them all. Despite Arturo's hope, his master Cristoff is showing no signs of regaining his soul, in fact he seems to be more depraved than ever. However, there's a secret he's held onto for centuries, a secret that could help them gain an edge over Cristoff and Arturo's willing to sacrifice himself for Quinn's success and safety.

The world that Palmer created is dark and twisted. Slowly, throughout the first two installments, you begin to see the ways this "light" that Quinn has brought into this perpetually dark world is affecting others. In this final installment, in sharing that light with those trapped in V.C., Quinn has restored much of what was lost and has become their last hope for survival. Palmer's secondary characters are just as intriguing as those in the spotlight. Thankfully, she's answered all of the questions I had in the first two books, as well as those raised in the finale - leaving no dangling threads. The two-year wait was long, but worth it in the end.

*My Thoughts*

Of Blood and Passion is the third and final installment in author Pamela Palmer's Vamp City trilogy. The trilogy features Quinn Lennox as the apparent last sorceress who has finally come into her Blackstone inheritance. She must now try and save Vamp City and those she loves like her vampire lover Arturo Mazza and her brother Zack from dying of magic sickness. In order to do so, she must defeat Cristoff Gonzaga, renew the magic that is rapidly decaying, and destroy a sword called Escalla. Not such an easy feat.

I'm actually slightly disappointed with this one even though I gave it 4 stars. Quinn just made some really really stupid decisions and I had no patience for the TSTL heroine at the moment. The epic battle was exciting enough and had me turning the pages a lot faster than I did the first half of the book. I think the long wait and suspense between book 2 & 3 might of hurt my enjoyment too. That being said this is still a great trilogy and I encourage you to try it. I think I would of been happier with it had I read it at a different time/mood.

The first two of this trilogy were fun and action packed. This third one contained a lot of recycled events. Change the place and the name and it was just enough different that it might be considered new. The last third was ok. All the sudden all this new information was introduced to bring the story to a conclusion. Book felt like an afterthought.

I once heard that writing a book is asking a question and then answering it. I am fascinated with Palmer's question, I just didn't like her style in answering it. That said, this was a good conclusion for her series.

A decent ending to the trilogy. I probably should have skimmed the previous two books before starting this just to refresh my memory on who the various characters were. But they were explained enough that it wasn't hard to follow.

Urban fantasy isn't really my thing, I started this series as a way to jump out of my comfort zone. The fantasy part of the story was compelling enough to keep me reading, at least at the discount prices I paid. The sex scenes didn't seem quite as dramatic as the first two books. They were just kind of there as a way for the Vamps to heal other than the last time when it was as an emotional connection between Arturo and Quinn.

As far as characters, Quinn still annoyed me with her selfishness. So did Zack. And honestly, other than Quinn, Turo, Kass and Micah, I didn't care one whit about any of the other characters. Mostly I was just curious to see how V.C was saved or destroyed. So, at least there was a happy ending.

The story was paced well. I didn't feel any real anxiety over the characters predicaments, and many of the characters I just found annoying, flat and throwaway. The world building was enough to keep me reading to see how it ended though.

The eBook was formatted well with only a couple of noticeable spelling/grammar errors.

I absolutely did not want this series to end. Hopefully Pamela will add to it- perhaps veering off to other characters? Some Micah or Kassius would suit me just fine ☺.
Good grief- Arturo was such a well written, flawed, redeemed, and sexy character- I fell in love right along with the hero.
Great series.

Oh my heavens, but this was so worth waiting for!

Quinn and Arturo, as well as Micah and Kassius, have teamed up to protect Neo and his underground railroad for humans escaping Vamp City, find a cure for Zack who is suffering a magic sickness, and to form some plan to save Vamp City. Quinn understands she holds the power to save and restore Vamp City and although at one time, she had no desire to save it, now she fears its demise and the deaths of her new friends. After trying to restore the magic and failing, something miraculous is beginning to happen—many of the vampires are regaining their souls and with them, their respect and caring for humans and Slavas.

Arturo is hoping his old friend and master, Cristoff, will regain his soul as well so the evil vampire will cease his search, and destroy mission against Quinn, the woman Arturo has come to love. Although Quinn is still wary of Arturo’s loyalty to her over that to Cristoff, she puts her trust in him once more. She just hopes her trust is well placed or everyone in Vamp City will die…or worse.

Pamela Palmer created a terrifying, brutal, and sadistic world in Vamp City. While reading A BLOOD SEDUCTION, I couldn’t help but wonder how such a sweet and romance minded writer could conjure such ultimate evil. After reading A KISS OF BLOOD, I knew that within the crumbling magic of Vamp City, there lies a world of honor, goodness, and caring, which just needed the right person to bring it out into the light. Quinn Lennox is that person. Arturo had begun to emerge from his not so likable persona whom we first met, and we began to admire and even fall a little in love with the not always nice vampire.

In OF BLOOD AND PASSION, we get answers to questions brought up in the first two books, even as more questions emerge but which are brilliantly answered as well, and then with a final battle we learn who stands honorably with Quinn the sorceress, and whether or not Vamp City can be saved.

Pamela introduces us to more new fabulous secondary characters, as well as new aspects of this magical city, new dangers, lots of action, angst, and edge of the seat nail biting excitement. This is an amazing adventure with an incredible ending.

It’s been over two years since the release of the second book in the series, A KISS OF BLOOD and frankly, I was beginning to think we’d never learn what happened to Quinn, Zack, and Lily but the wait is nearly over for everyone, and thank you, Pamela, it was worth the wait.

I highly recommend that if you are already a fan of the Vamp City novels, you will want to grab a copy of the final book, OF BLOOD AND PASSION by Pamela Palmer as soon as it’s available. If you’ve never tapped this amazing series, start at the beginning and be prepared to have your hair stand on end a bit, be fearful to turn out the light after reading, and to be blown away by the intensity and creative world that is Vamp City.

Each book has held its own power, life force so to speak, its own magic, but I think OF BLOOD AND PASSION might just be the best one of the three. Yes, it gives us answers. Yes, it gives us an ending and closure but more importantly, it brings us what we look for in any romance…it brings us a complete and total feeling of satisfaction when it’s over. I’m actually sad to see this series close, but the feeling I felt at the end made it…magical.

"Of Blood and Passion" by Pamela Palmer. Book 3 (final) in the Vamp City Trilogy.

I really good ending to a really good trilogy. I don't really know what to say about this book because I don't want to spoil the ending of the story for you!

So in general I'll say this....

Quinn and Arturo's rocky relationship throughout the first two books comes to an understanding and a happy ending (as if you couldn't figure that out for yourself with this being the last book). We learn more about Arturo's past and why he's so loyal to the evil vampire Cristoff, who is trying to kill Quinn. It's Quinn's job to save Vamp City but there is a twist in this story that I didn't see coming which made me say "Hey wait a minute! How is she supposed to save the world now?" Needless to say, it kept me reading to find out.

The subplot of Quinn's brother Zack trying to find his best friend Lily, who is a slave in Vamp City, comes to a happy ending in this book as well, although I thought it was kind of anticlimactic. It was a very good emotional scene but I was still thinking "Really? THAT'S how he finds her?"

The ending of this book was very exciting with a lot of action scenes describing an all out war between good vampires, bad vampires, werewolves and Slava's (human slaves that are immortal) and "normal" human slaves. The scenes were very vivid and well described. You could picture everything that was happening. The epilogue rounds things up nicely and really gives the story closure.

All the characters were very likable and the bad guys were just as unlikable. Descriptions were very vivid and the story flows really well. Overall, I really liked this trilogy.

I'm so glad it's over. I dragged my way through it hating pretty much all the characters the entire time.

I kept asking myself why I was bothering and the answer was always the same. The world was inordinately gritty and the story was engaging. I just hated all the characters and their mini-growth. They were all shallow and insipid. The heroine was too stupid to live through the entire trilogy. I hated the love story.

It's fair to say that my 2 star rating is not just for the single book but also for the combination of the three. I read the first two hopeful that the characterizations would come up to the level of the world but they all continued to seem like romance parodies to me.

I'm so glad it's over.

The best thing about this series was that I finished it without throwing the book. I felt that Quinn was the most stupid heroine in the world. She refused to do anything right because of her brother Zach. Who incidentally kept telling his sister he was a grown man. Most of this stuff would not have happened if she wasn't so stupid. I liked Arturo. He was the most sane of the characters but I felt as if she added way too many characters in the end. Basically when it was over I jumped for joy. 2.5 cause I didn't throw my phone out the window

This conclusion didn't go quite the way I expected it to. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there was quite a bit of artificially forced scrambling to get to it. A good amount of the "adult content" seemed out of place, as well...I found myself quite a few times thinking, "Now?? You're doing that now?" Sure, you could apply the "affirmation of life" defense, but...meh. Is there some minimum content percentage quota we're trying to meet here? Anyway, it all works out the way it works out, and that's fine, if a tad bit saccharine.

Another great book from Pamela Palmer. She never ceases to amaze me and keep me interested in her series. So, where to start...first off, I was captured from the beginning of this 3 book in there series. Quinn once again has so much to over come, but with the love and strength of Arturo and all her vamp friends, she pushes herself to do what is needed. There is so much that happens in these 340 pages, but it's a seriously amazing book that I would recommend to any and everyone.

Great ending!

Wow great ending to a series that's a must read. In a new world where vampires an werewolfs an others live in darkness is filled with what it would, be like to be cursed to darkness. Certain people can come threw from the real world an discover this place. You really need to start with first book to understand this story. Worth starting from beginning for sure!

I'm glad I stuck around and read this book. It was by far the best one of the series. I remember when I read the first book it was so very dark, I kept saying "but it's Pamela Palmer, it has to be good". This one had me crying, not many books do that. I was so happy how she ended the series, who knows maybe she will write more later.

I thought that this was a great ending to the Vamp City story. Quinn coming into her powers, realizing her true feelings for Ax, recognizing her brother is a man & capable of taking care of himself, all this makes for an exciting story.
