My Professor's Secret: A Spicy and Dark, Sapphic, Age-Gap, Enemies to Lovers, Dark Academia, Secret Society, College Romance!

Rate this book
My professor has a secret. And I intend to make her surrender it.

My dead father left me a fortune, a book full of clues, and one infuriating complete a semester under the woman I despise.

Margot Vale. Thirty-six. Devastatingly beautiful. My father's widow. And now, my professor.

I came to St. Aurelia to claim my inheritance and make her life miserable. Instead, I discovered the Gorgon's Table, a secret society where powerful women become Athenas and Medusas, and surrender is its own dangerous kind of power.

Margot is my Athena. I'm her Medusa. And behind closed doors, the woman who controls my grades is supposed to be at my mercy.

But girls are disappearing. My father's death is beginning to look like murder. And every clue he left leads me deeper into Margot's world.

I should be investigating her, not falling into her bed. But the closer I get to the truth, the harder it becomes to resist her.

I want her secrets. I want her on her knees. And God help me, I think I want her heart.

An intoxicating sapphic dark academia romance featuring enemies to lovers, a seventeen-year age gap, forbidden professor/student attraction, forced proximity, morally gray women, Greek mythology, dangerous power dynamics, and a secret society with deadly secrets.

An epic forbidden sapphic romance from veteran Amazon Bestselling author A. Goswami (author of sapphic bestsellers like Undeniable, Your Mom Will Do, A Girl Can Dream, The Popstar's Cowgirl, In A World Of Our Own and many more!)

I am your friendly neighborhood Sapphic romance writer, who has a knack for writing steamy romances, that also work as comfort reads. I know, a conundrum! But once you give my books a shot, you'll know what I mean!
I live in London, a few streets away from where Sherlock Holmes used to live, so... if I you find me taking too long to publish my next book, I am probably off with Mr. Holmes on an adventure.

This was a great read! It was a feel good romance and I loved every single aspect of this romance. I especially loved the teacher x student relationship. That trope gets me every time!

I really enjoyed this book. From the very beginning, the author pulled me in with the blend of myth, history, dark academia, and that secret‑society intrigue that always makes a story feel richer. It’s one of those books that sucks you in quickly — and with great pleasure, if I’m being honest. At first, the relationship between Margot and Dove didn’t sit well with me, mostly because I wasn’t sure how to feel about their dynamic. But once the full context became clear, I found myself rooting for them and understanding why their connection worked within the world the author created.

The secrecy surrounding the Order was one of my favorite parts. The way it moves, the rules it follows, and the way it shapes the characters’ lives added a layer of tension and mystery that made the story even more compelling. Every reveal felt intentional, and I loved how the author slowly expanded the mythology without giving everything away at once.

And then realizing there’s another book? That gave me a whole new spark of excitement. The ending delivered just enough answers to satisfy me while opening the door to even bigger questions — especially with the new information about the Order and the role her father played in all of it. That twist added emotional weight and made the story feel even more personal.

Overall, this was a dark, spicy, myth‑infused ride that kept me hooked from start to finish. I’m genuinely looking forward to the next installment and can’t wait to see how the author continues to unravel the secrets of this world.

Listened as an audiobook on Kindle+ & from all the good reviews I really expected it to be good. It’s about a girl who goes through the problems of losing her dad & has to go to school at the same school her “evil” (to her) stepmother teaches at. The school is primarily based on Greek Mythology, which I thought was cool , but there wasn’t too many facts about it etched into the book.
It’s a lot of gay/bi girls in the book, rarely straight couples, so it is that kind of book. The “spice” is very spicy in the scenes , but actually listening (or reading but I did audiobook), it was very hard to get in to the chemistry in the characters & everything else. It took so long to listen to it, because I physically couldn’t. It was so bad. The story was long & drawn on, tons of intimate scenes that were kind of cringy, & overall just bad in my opinion. Towards the end it left on a huge cliff hanger that , even though I didn’t get in to the book, I still wanted to know what happened. I thought there was only one , but I guess they did a second one.
I ended up just looking up the ending for the second book so I didn’t have to waste my time, but throughout the first book I just really couldn’t get in to it. It wasn’t a page turner for me, no romance induced feelings, nothing. Again, it could’ve just been because I listened to it as an audiobook at work instead of sitting down & reading it, but I definitely wouldn’t read again or recommend it.

Surprisingly addictive

A bit of an enemies to lovers trope that reads like a Netflix series that you begin just to watch something shorter than a movie, only to realize hours later your half way through the season. A few typos or grammatical errors here or there which are easily overlooked by this investigative sapphic romance that has me running for part two. Well done playing on my interest in mythical lore, philosophy, and cult mentality, Goswami 👏🏼 😏

Dnf @ 55%

Something about this writing just doesn’t feel right, I don’t know how to explain it. It may or may not be AI and based on reviews on the author’s other books, it’s definitely giving AI. It’s just so off to me because it’s supposed to be ‘sapphic’ but it really doesn’t read like sapphic at all. The writing is also really strange as well.

I won’t ever support AI in stories so this would be an immediate DNF for me, sorry not sorry.

Another one I loved. The spice is spicing!!! And I'm so here for it. I can't wait to read the second one. I've stayed up way too late to keep reading and I already know I'll be doing the same for the next one.

Book had me hooked at the first half ngl, lost me quick tho. Like idea of the secret society and like, the professors picking a student to Bone was like the 'darkest' part of this romance. They basically don't even bone till the last chapter.

Will i read the second one, yeah. Probably.
