No surprise Luc's mate turns out to be Arianna. Luc's still uneasy about Aiden and Rayna's mating but learning to live with it and finally able to see that his mate is right in front of him.
Arianna is afraid of the life that Luc and his brothers live and wants no part of it (and who could blame her), so she decides to leave Luc before she gets in too deep. All the while having no clue of Luc's mommy issues she ups and leaves him without a word.
In a surprising chain of events that made absolutely no sense to this plot at all--after fleeing Luc and the "danger", Arianna goes after one of the Hunters who shot Luc, enlists her techie foster brother's assistance to delete incriminating evidence the Hunters hold over the Riveauxs--putting herself in "danger"! Ludicrous!
Of course Luc comes to the rescue, they mate and all is well. The Wolves of the Rising Sun series isn't rocket science, minutely stimulating or suspenseful, but it is a way to waste approximately an hour and a half reading about pretty unmemorable characters and events if you've got some time to kill.
Luc and Arianna. Another short fun read. I wasn't as drawn in as I was with Aiden and Rayna's story though. Arianna became aware of the wolf natures Luc and his brothers in the last book, and isn't too happy about it. After the danger she grew up with, she wants a life that free from strife and Luc's world is anything but safe. Luc is afraid of a woman doing to him what his mother did to his father. Then there's danger of Skye's ex and his gang of scum. The ending was great!
Next up in Wolves of the Rising Sun is Luc and Arianna’s story, and their connection brings a whole new layer of emotional depth to the series. Arianna’s not just on vacation—she’s running from a past she’s worked hard to leave behind, cutting ties with a dangerous family and trying to start fresh. But when she crosses paths with Luc, fate throws her right back into a world she thought she escaped. Their chemistry is electric, but what really got me was the emotional push and pull: Luc is all in, while Arianna is torn between falling for him and risking being pulled back into everything she tried to leave behind.
What I’m loving about this series is how each book adds another thread to the overall tapestry of the bayou and its supernatural world. These stories are quick, spicy, and easy to devour, but together they’re building a bigger picture—one that’s moody, magical, and full of heart. Luc and Arianna’s journey especially stands out because it isn’t just about passion; it’s about choice, trust, and letting go of fear. This one felt like a turning point for the series in the best way.
This is the third in the series and infant get enough of it. It continues and flows easily from one book to an another but you need to read in order otherwise in my opinion you will get a little confused as to who people are and who are the bad ones because of this but the first three books center around 3 brothers and there soon to be mates. The men are hot and everything you want for that perfect summer read. I love the fact that in this one we get to have a little pay back with the bad guys but I have a feeling it's not going to be the end of that. But there songood I'm going to read the next straight away the 4th in space of 3 days whoops.....
I Iove this author's writing, but the story has been a little disappointing with the first two books in this series. Luckily, I can't say the same about this one. It was fast paced and even had some action and suspense. The couple's romance is also a bit more developed. Hopefully, the rest of the series continues this way, as it is what I expect from this author.
A good saucy series. Fast read with enough suspense and action to keep you turning pages. Shifter series. In this book the third brother in the pack finds mate in his brother's mate model friends Ari. A fast fated mate romance. A semi conclusion to some of the drama from the two previous books. Recommended to shifter lovers. I will read the next book it's that entertaining.
Luc finds love.plus a broken family makes up with there cousins (who live a hour away I think) I also felt there was a few cameos here for future series book four is kind of like season two because the cousins was not in this series until near the end of this book but adds 4 more books to this series.also what was in the envelope from smoke? We never found out? I feel there is a series there somewhere with smoke as well.
Another short, light listen. I like the narrators of this one better than the last, but I didn't enjoy the story as much as the previous two. I liked Luc and Arianna well enough, but the level of angst wasn't on par with the previous two books.
Awesome storyline still having to fight the hunters; majir drug issues. While both Luc and Arianna figure out if they want to be mated. Action, drama and great characters in this adveture..oh and the sexy sexy too
Good wrap up of all three books/novellas. Luc finds his fated mate. No epilogue, HEA, no cliffhanger. But end does tease you about dials and his true love/drama.
The Hunters have grown more product and are still trying to get rid of the wolves. The pack is being forced to look the other way because of the blackmail but all is not lost. With the help of a very ingenious Hacker the video is rendered useless and the authorities can now deal with the Hunters.
A hero who finally works out he wants to keep the heroine, action, steam, lots of unexpected twists and a HEA. I love it.
'Luc' is the third and final book in the 'Wolves of the Rising Sun' series by Kenzie Cox. I was given this copy by the author in exchange for an honest review, and I really couldn't put it down. This series just keeps getting better and better, and now I'm hooked on Kenzie Cox books. 'Luc' is also part of the multi-author paranormal romance Mating Season Collection. All the books are written to be stand alone stories complete with HEA, even though they are also part of individual series.
This is the story of werewolf Luc Riveaux, who operates the family's Bayou Tours business, human Arianna Sims, who's a model, and their rocky road to true matedness. Luc has hardened his heart against the idea of a mate since his mother left. Arianna has survived her 'family' being involved in the illegal drugs trade and got out as soon as she could. But, without giving away any spoilers, their worlds are about to hit each other, head on, and the consequences are not what you'd expect. This book has unexpected twists and turns, and you really need to read it for yourselves.
Although it's written in the first person, something I don't usually like, I was so hooked on the story that I barely even noticed, and it does alternate the point of view between Arianna and Luc every chapter, so you know what both of them are doing, thinking and feeling. I love this series about the Riveaux brothers who run their Bayou bar 'Wolves of the Rising Sun' along with tours of the Bayou to make ends meet. There is a background theme in the series, which has formed an integral part of each story and comes full circle in this book. It's all on the wheel, so the bad guys get theirs, and not in the way you might think. I love all the main characters, but my absolute hero of the week is Arianna, with her 'brother' Smoke running a close second. A few new characters, mainly cousins, are introduced in this book and threads are put in place for others, but as 'Luc' is the final book in this series, perhaps a new three book series will begin. Which would be really Great!
I was given an ARC of Luc from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I have been loving this series so far, and 'Luc' was no different than the first two. I was sucked into the story, lost within the words... action, love, mayhem that is the "Wolves of the Rising Sun". I didn't want this book to finish, but then I have said that to all I have read so far.
Luc know's Arianna isn't staying long, she'll be heading home in 2 weeks, so he's making the most of the time he gets to spend, but he's not sure if he can allow her to leave, especially when she knows the secret.... Arianna is enjoying her time with her best friend & Luc, but things happen that make her remember things & run...
I loved how you got a peak at the previous books couples, how they act together now that they're mated.
Luc is book 2 in Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that wasn't the last novella from Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far & I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Hawt, Yum and Delicious are quick words to describe this novella. I have been lucky enough to read the other brothers stories and loved them as well. The series is about 3 brothers who run a bar and swamp tours. They are fighting some bad guys while falling in love with their woman.
Luc was sooo not ever gonna fall in love. He lost his bestie/rommie to his brother Aiden last book. Now he is finding himself drawn to Arianna. He has this desire for her that he cannot understand…when the “Mine” starts going off in his head he kinda freaks but is ok with it. Unfortunately Arianna freaks when she sees that the brothers are now dealing with illegal drugs on their property thanks to the Hunters from before. I loved what Arianna does to help the brothers when we think she is actually running away. I also loved the introduction of the cousins because that means MORE YUMMY SHIFTERS !!! I gotta tell ya I was all kindsa of checking out Silas…..MMMHMMMMM…..Me needs to read more of him.
Luc: Wolves of the Rising Sun #3 (Mating Season, #16) by Kenzie Cox
Lannister and the scum he works with are still giving the Riveaux's problems due to the video that Lannister got and is using as blackmail. Arianna didn't have the best childhood, but she survived it and moved on, now she is being faced with the same things again. It doesn't matter how much she likes/loves Luc, she just can't go through it all again. So, she leaves, but knowing that the video is being held over Luc and his family's head does not sit well and she thinks she can help with that.
Having found a pot field on the island where the cabin is, Luc has to figure out how to get rid of it. They have to be careful and handle this with kid gloves or Lannister will release the video. Luc knows that Arianna is his mate, but he does act on it and he is glad, well kind of, actually he is mad, when he discovers she has left. He knows they are going to need more help with this problem of the pot field, so he goes to his cousins. This should be good.
The Mating Season Collection just keeps getting better and I love Riveaux family.
Luc does not want a mate!! After he and his brothers were abandoned by their mother, he doesn't want that hurt again. But his brothers are all mated now and one of Skye's model friends is getting under his skin...and into his bed. It's only a short fling as he knows Arianna isn't staying long. But she knows he's a shifter and seems to have accepted things quite well. Will she stay or run back to New Orleans???
Arianna is enjoying time with her best friend in the gorgeous bayou and Luc is a wonderful bonus. But the danger he and his pack live with are dredging up bad memories from her childhood and she wants a safe, steady life. NO excitement of the dangerous variety.
I loved meeting the couples from the earlier books and seeing how mated life has changed them. Great snappy writing and heartstopping action. It was great seeing the relationship build between Luc and Arianna. Arianna may be a model and want a quiet life but she has nerves of steel and will fight to keep her loved ones safe!!
Part of the "Mating Season" pack series. 6 authors, 6 different packs and all searching for their mate.
Ever since Luc Riveaux mom took off on them when he was young he closed his heart. But now with Arianna Simms (a friend of his brother's mate) he is starting to open up but the Riveaux's family enemy is at it again. Danger, drama and hotness lurk at every corner of the swamp. Can Arianna except the life Luc lives to find true happiness? wow what a great storyline. I love the characters in this series. If your into shifter romance then you will love this. Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it

"Luc" is another short novella is the Wolves of the Rising Sun series. The problem that I have with these stories is just when when the plot starts to really get interesting, it's over.
Marianna is a model who is having a little fun spending some time with Luc. She is aware that he is a wolf but she just thinks it's a very hit fling. Then when Luv takes Arianna out to the family cemetery plot and discovers someone has been on the property growing marijuana, all hell is about to break lose.
Arianna's foster care background came complete with drug dealing foster parents. The last thing she wants to do is get back into a world that terrified her most. So, she leaves Luc but we all know that leaving someone doesn't erase them from your heart or mind. So, Arianna sets out to make things right.
This read like most in the series had greAt potential but the author concentrated more on the sex than flushing out the plot. Unfortunately, that trivialized the rest of the book. I won't be going on to the spin off series. This was enough.
