So . . . it's a short story, a really short story, but I really liked it. But then, I really like most of what Cora Seton writes. She has hot heroes, beautiful heroines and writes romance with a light touch with little to no angst. I was a little disappointed that, as the last story in The Heroes of Chance Creek Series, there wasn't more about the other characters in the series.
A Navy SEAL Ben Warren comes to terms with the end of his SEAL career, he is carrying a lot of fear and concern for his future. When the Hall brothers invite him to Crescent Hall, he plans to take this time to figure some things out and make some plans. What he doesn't plan on is single mother Caitlyn Cross and falling in love.
A Seal’s Chance: Heroes of Chance Creek Book 6 is by Cora Seton. Ben Warren was headed stateside to recovery from an injury that caused him to resign from the Seals. He was not happy at all. What did he have now? Ben went to stay with his friend in Chace Creek. He didn’t want to go home to all the sympathy he would receive. He hoped it wouldn’t happen here. Maybe he would heal here. When he arrived in Chance Creek, his friends wouldn’t allow him to be depressed. He seemed to know when he was in a safe place. However, immediately his friend tried to get him to have a date for the Harvest Festival. When he actually met a beautiful lady, Caitlyn Cross, he thought she might go with him. However, she thought he was just teasing her and refused. She thought she was not eligible to be happy with a man because she was a single mother. Everyone they met seemed to think they were in love. What will happen now?
I loved this series, every book showed their support for one another Phyiscal and emotional. As a family thier determination was unlimited and unconditional of what they would do for each other
This started out well, along the same lines as the rest of the series, but it suffered from being so short. We didn't have enough time to find out more about the main characters. Ben is a friend of Mason who has been invited to stay with them after a devastating injury that forced him out of the SEALS. He's bitter and disappointed about this and hasn't figured out what he's going to do next. (We never to hear much more about that.) Caitlin is a local girl who had a baby out of wedlock and feels ashamed about that, imagining that everyone is talking about her all the time. When they meet, there are a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings at the beginning. Despite that, it's obvious that it's love at first sight, and the romance is sweet if brief. But the whole story felt unfinished, and I was left somewhat dissatisfied despite the HEA. That being said, I look forward to more of Seton's Chance Creek series.
When Ben one of Masons ex marine buddies who was injured comes to stay he gets more than he bargained for. Ben is struggling and feeling down and jaded. Who would want a cripple like him. Caitlyn is a sweet young single mom who feels the world is passing judgement on her. They meet and it isn't roses. But when they get to know eachother and see they are both broken thy start to mend eachother.
I am beginning to think that the obstacle courses, is one of love. From the man who built it for his boys, to the boys who grew up and found their wives, and now four friends who have found love on that course. An awesome story of how two people who didn't think they were worthy of love, helped each other to see the best in themselves.
I like almost all of Cora Seton's books. I liked this one too, but I wish it had been longer. I liked the main characters and wished I could have learned more about them. The book put a smile in me and brightened my day, so I'm happy but wishing for more.
The first book in this series will always be my favorite. However, I feel in love with each one of the brothers and the struggles they faced. If Cora Seton writes it - I'll read it. Love this author.
I usually like everything by this author but I am sorry to say that I was disappointed by this book. Too short and too predictable, not much of a story here. I don't think that the H should have demanded he stay the night and she would have accepted. I don't think that someone who had a one night stand would fall into another one night stand. It wasn't even a date. I guess that happened due to the brevity of the story. And the cost for the short story seemed pretty high. All around disappointing, because fully developed it could have been another really good story in the series.
Cora Seton writes amazing stories and I mostly enjoyed this one. Pros: a great plot, Cons: too short.
If you like clean romances, this isn’t the author for you. All of her stories use sex, to seemingly enhance the story, some books more than others. They all have some profanity. But I will still read her books, for the moment. Although I don’t approve of the amount of sexual content, some of which I would say is over the top, she does have good plots and the stories involve consenting adults.
Ben and Caitlyn both think they are damaged and unlovable. Can they help each other overcome that?
Ben is a Navy SEAL who was injured in the line of duty and now is medically discharged and walks with a cane and limps. He think no woman would want to be with a drills like him. Caitlyn is a single mom and feels no man would want to be with someone and take care of a baby that isn't theirs. Can they help each other to overcome these insecurities? They have a rough start the first couple times they meet because of misunderstandings of how things were said. Will they work through this and admit to being attracted to each other?
Ex-Navy SEAL Ben Warren and single mother Caitlyn Cross meet in Chance Creek where he is visiting other ex-military after being injured and ending his career as a SEAL. Caitlyn is a single mother with a cute baby daughter. Ben and Caitlyn are both insecure and after several misunderstandings they click and learn to communicate and help each other find a happy ending in 'A SEAL's Chance' or the new title 'The Navy SEAL's Second Chance Bride'.
The Navy SEAL's second Chance Bride (Heroes of Chance Creek, Book 6)
The love story of Ben and Caitlyn. Caitlyn is a sign mother with a 6 months old daughter. Ben is a ex Navy SEAL, who was injured and very resentful. He has come to Change Creek because his bud, Dan and Mason invite him. Dan say he can have a old revolver if he got a date for the Harvest Dance. Can he do it? Great story.
This didn't feel like a romance. This felt like first date, get it on, and then skip six months and they're at the altar and she's pregnant. Just very unsatisfying. We don't see him really get over any of his issues. There wasn't any character development.

Good character development and very easily likeable and a good story line although extremely short! It would have been nice if it had been developed a little bit more it stopped in about the 57% mark.
Like all of Ms. Seton's books I love all the Chance Creek stories. Always a new avenue to find love. Troubles find interesting solutions. Just love the road traveled in her books.
I read about the Hall brothers several months ago and only recently found this addition to the story. Love the details about a Seal coming to terms with his injury. And a.single mother settling into her role fully now.
Well written story and well developed characters! I couldn't put this book down and read it in just one afternoon! This series should be read in order. They are much better thT
I love Cora Seton books but this one was too short. there was no real conflict and no solution. The couple hooks up and the next thing they are getting married. No true solution to his foot problem.
Wonderful story of pain and redemption. Both Ben and Caitlin had issues. But together they made it through. I love your books and the pleasure in reading them.
