Heartbroken by the handsome and enigmatic Clayton Astor Sinclair, Sophie Walker has put her whirlwind romance with him in the Maldives behind her and is determined to focus on her career as an artist.
But when her new job in the south of France turns out to be too good to be true, she can't help but wonder if she is making a mistake. Their passion cannot be denied, but when Clayton shuts her out after a family tragedy, Sophie is determined to fight for what is right.
She must defy all odds to find her own happily ever after.
Colet Abedi is an Iranian-American, best-selling author, television and film producer. She was born in Virginia and currently lives in Los Angeles. When she's not writing she's either off on an adventure in a far-off land or planning her next getaway. She writes contemporary romance and young adult.
Another addictive entry in the Mad Love series, showing again why Clayton Sinclair is so compelling. In this book he even shows some human tendencies! Sophie has spent the last month trying to get over Clayton since their doomed affair in the Maldives. Her work as an artist takes her to the south of France, to paint a portrait of a socialite bride-to-be, with her best friends Erik and Orie in tow they head to Avignon to a historic chateau, only to find it's been a set up...
These books are as delicious as Clayton himself, just what I needed for an afternoon of escapism. Recommended.
This was so close to being a loved series for me. I like that the hero was pretty possessive of the heroine but what I didn't love was how he handled a few things. Clayton is uber rich and falls for the not so rich Sophie. He brings her into his world and doesn't take care of her like he should. And I don't mean financially. He should have taken better care of her emotionally in this world she was new too. That made my love for him dim a bit. Sophie was a bit of a struggle for me as well. She seemed too immature in some ways but then she would call out Clayton on some of his behavior, which I really liked. So while I can't claim this series as a favorite, it did have a lot of elements to it that I did like.
To say I have been waiting for Mad Love 2, would be an understatement. With the cliffy we were left in Mad Love, I have been chomping at the bit for book 2…and let me tell you it was so worth the wait, because it was simply amazing. It was not at all the path at which I thought Colet would take with these two, but wow, it was the perfect path for them.
In Mad Love, the whole book took place in the beautiful Maldives….the book had a light and sunny and warm feel. The characters felt a bit more carefree and less inhibited and overall the attitude was fairly jovial. In Mad Love 2, it is quite the opposite. The book takes place in France and England in the dead of winter. They stay in Chateaus and Castles and overall the book felt dark and cold, yet in the best possible way. It was the perfect setting for the mood and feel of this book. For Mad Love 2 is Clayton and Sophie making their way back into each other’s lives. Feelings have been hurt, egos have been bruised and many tears have shed…there is anger in the air and feelings of mistrust, but Colet writes it flawlessly. I loved how she just let Clayton and Sophie run with these emotions and they really fleshed out their own story. Nothing felt forced or faked or even sugar coated. Their emotions were real and very true to life.
Sophie has grown up a lot and developed a bit of a back bone from trying to mend a broken heart. You can see her maturity and you really root for her to continue down this path. Clayton is a broody as ever and he is still that controlling and domineering Brit we love. I can’t express to you how much I appreciated that Colet did not transform him into some wimpy, lovesick man. All the reasons we fell for him in ML are still there and I, for one, love his no holds barred, ‘you don’t question me’ mentality. Sophie might can rattle him a bit more with her new found confidence, but there is no denying who wears the pants in this relationship. And honestly I think it is why these two worked even better as their time together progresses.
If you loved Erik and Orie in book one, you will love them even more in this book. They are such amazing friends and champions of Sophie’s, that it is only fitting they are extremely prominent throughout this book as well. With the addition of some new characters and revisiting some old ones, there is never any lack of drama or parties of the rich and famous. When tragedy strikes the Sinclair household, my heart broke for all involved. Colet got this part so right. The emotions and actions of everyone in this book were so honest and raw, it just made it even that much more gut wrenching. This was part of the story arc I didn’t not see coming, but it truly was the test of these two lover’s faith in each other.
There is nothing in this book I would have changed. It felt like such a real life journey for Clayton and Sophie and one I am so glad I was a part of. Again, Colet can transport you from anywhere in the world directly to her setting with her descriptions and visuals she gives you. Her knowledge not only of Haute Couture, but of the art world and the architectural structures in Europe lends so much integrity to the story as well. It was one of the things that drew me into book one and continued on in book two. She truly excels at her this in her writing. I will miss these characters, yet there is such a sense of peace with me as this series ends. I will cross my fingers that maybe Michael can have his own love story told, but until then, I will follow Colet and anything that she writes in this world of contemporary literature! 5 ‘you are my forever’ stars!
Hated everything about this book. It annoyed me to no end and had me constantly rolling my eyes. I didn't like both the hero and heroine at all. I even regret reading this.😭

Do you believe in second chances? A second chance at true love. Can fate step in a second time and bring two people together? That is exactly what happens to Sophie and Clayton in Mad Love 2. There is love, loss, laughter, pain, tension, teasing and so much more! Let me tell you, what a ride it was. There were points when I was biting my nails waiting to see what happened next, what would Sophie do? What would Clayton say? I love the love story of Sophie and Clayton. I love Erik and Orie who doesn't love the best friends who bring the humor!! There were moments when I cried from laughter and cried from heartbreak. Just what I love in a book. When it can bring the tears! This is a MUST MUST read!!!! A Mad Love we all search for!! (and I think it also brought me my new favorite hashtag and best ending line of a book ever!!!)
I loved this one but why oh why author did not give us epilogue(I hate when book is amazing and in the end doesn't have a decent epilogue, it's like unfinished for me). It was a bit of rushed in the end but I enjoyed,Clayton was again super alpha and Sophie is great heroine too.
Really enjoyed Mad Love an Mad Love 2, I finished both within a day because I couldn't put them down. Being a lover of romantic novels it was a refreshing to read a romance novel that was well written and while it still had elements that a romance novel has it was done in a way I didn't find to be predictable. Colet Abedi makes you fall in love with all the characters. It was great to see a female character grow into stronger more confident woman, who has the back bone to stand up to a love interest and not be swept away. It's a story about coming to age and how that love she experiences makes her into a self reliant woman, when she could have easily succumbed to a man and lavish lifestyle. Its refreshing to see a strong female character but also her weaknesses that we all experience. I felt like i was reading about my best friends, inner monologue, and sitting through a therapy session lol. T
After you left us with a cliffhanger in mad love you took us on a wild ride through England and France it was definitely worth the wait. We watch Sophie grow as a woman in herself, and them grow as a couple. In a short time run the gamut of emotions, laughter...newly developing love...the heartbreak of death and the fallout that comes with that...til the book's conclusion. I laughed, I cried, I giggled, I smiled, the book made me feel a wide range of emotions. I can only hope Colet comes out with a Mad Love 3 so we can have more time with all the characters.
Mad about this sexy love story! 4 sizzling starts out of five. I was intrigued by the storyline to give this book a try and I was not disappointed. You can’t really go wrong with a heartbroken young women trying to find herself and an enigmatic, super hot, ultra sexy alpha man pulling out all of the stops to win her back. Law school drop out and aspiring artist, Sophie Walker, is instantly likable. She’s back from her exotic — not to mention erotic — vacation where she met Clayton Astor Sinclair and fell madly in love. Now she’s back home nursing her broken heart convinced Clayton has betrayed her. A twist of fate reunites Clayton and Sophie and the minute they lay eyes on each other they cannot deny their connection.
“But right now I just need to take what’s mine. What I’ve been dying to have since the moment I watched you upstairs.” I don’t have time to think. Or breathe. Because in less than three seconds I’m pulled into his arms and his lips capture mine. I don’t have the energy or the desire to stop him. My arms curl around his neck as I allow him to cup my bottom and pull my body up against his. I can feel how hard he is for me and I instinctively grind my hips into his. It’s heaven. It’s hell. And everything in between. Because I want more. Crave more. Need more.
While I instantly liked and sympathized with Sophie the story didn’t really hook me until Clayton entered the picture, fortunately that happens within the first few chapters. If you love alpha males — especially uber-wealthy, possessive, sexy ones with a soft and sweet side — you will love the Clayton Sinclair. But Sophie is no shrinking violet. She may not be able to resist Clayton but she also stands her ground with him.
The supporting cast adds to the story’s subplots in that they are well written. I got a kick out of Sophie’s relationship with her two BFFs and found myself crushing a bit on Clayton’s brother, but even he is no match for Clayton. Do guys like this really exist? I couldn’t get enough of Sophie and Clayton.
He reaches out and buries his hand in my ponytail as he steps close to me. He pulls my head back so I have to look up at him. His eyes dance with fire and all I can think about is how badly I want him to touch me. “You’re mine, Sophie,” he commands. “Say it.” “I’m yours,” I tell him immediately, because it’s true.
I would have liked to have read the first book beforehand, but it wasn’t necessary. In a way I’m glad I didn’t because it would have meant waiting for the sequel.
**Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed by Zoe for Alpha Book Club**
I've been looking forward to this book for almost a year and a half. Mad Love left me anxious for more Sophie and Clayton and I'm so grateful I finally got it. So many of the unanswered questions from the first book were answered and yet so many more were created while reading the second book. Most of all I loved seeing Sophie and Clayton again.
When Sophie and Clayton last parted, it wasn't a very happy separation. Sophie was heart broken and devastated by what she thought had happened. This book opens with Sophie trying her best to move forward, but Clayton has somehow become part of her soul and it's next to impossible to move on. Fast forward to their possibly-not-so- serendipitous meeting, and it's clear neither of them are over the other and the explosive chemistry they have is still going strong.
Of course they have to move past the biggest hurdle of all trusting each other, before they can face the other challenges coming their way. I liked Sophie a lot more in this book. She's stronger, especially when dealing with Clayton and others around her who bullied and put her down. She's more in tune with what she wants and is willing to fight for it if need be. I absolutely adored Clayton in this book as well. He's also more open to Sophie and is letting her in, but then reverts to bad behavior when he's blindsided by a tragedy. Clayton is also kind and loving as seen by his actions toward his mother, brothers, and some cousins.
One thing is for sure. I loved seeing Erik and Orie again. Sophie has some really good friends to support her. I also loved meeting new people who were important to both Sophie and Clayton like Abby, Michael, and Georgie. While I liked learning more about Clayton's past, I had mixed feelings about his parents. I knew how I felt about Clayton's father, but I was undecided about his mother. I found that my feelings for them didn't change much. I couldn't help but contrast them to Sophie's parents and find them wanting.
When it came to Sophie and Clayton, this time around, I could see things were different but I wasn't sure how much Clayton was invested. I thought I did, but then something would happen or he'd do something to make me think he wasn't as emotionally involved as Sophie was. I also hoped it might be a case of him not being aware of his own feelings. That being said, I wasn't sure if this book was going to have a happy ending. I can't really say the book has one either because I still have so many questions regarding Clayton's feelings, Sophie's future, their relationship status, and a whole bunch of questions about Erik and Orie, as well as some of Clayton's family members.
Colet Abedi totally delivered with this book. It was hot, sexy, heavy on the emotions and the drama, but it was one heck of a tale. There were moments of laughter and even some of tears. I'm hoping there will definitely be more books featuring Sophie and Clayton in the future. I don't think their story is quite finished yet.
Mad Love 2 is the second book in the A Mad Love Series, I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
I’ve been blogging for just over 18mnths and for about 17 months I’ve had a strict reading schedule I’m insane about the schedule I have only ever deviated from the schedule once before. Well I’ve been waiting for this book since the last page of the first book. I have stalked Colet Abedi’s Facebook and Twitter pages desperate for the day she would issue a release date for Mad Love 2.
So obviously when an opportunity to get an ARC came to me I jumped at the chance and I’ve been on tender hooks ever since.
Well yesterday Mad Love 2 popped up on my kindle, yes there was a small moment of squealing and jumping up and down and then, well I did what any good booknerd would do well I told the schedule to go to hell and I devoured this insanely good sequel.
With the way the first book ended I had no idea how this couple would end up reuniting and I’m not gonna give anything away but what I will say is that the first scene when they are together gave me goose bumps.
Clayton is a seriously enigmatic alpha male; he has a strong dominant personality and I LOVED HIM. I love his possessive ways in the first book and he doesn’t fail to call on that domineering voice and manner in this instalment.
To say that Clayton and Sophie have chemistry would be the understatement of the year. The sexual tension crackles between them and honestly I never know if they are gonna rip each other clothes off or scream at one another.
Both Clayton and Sophie at times in this book are idiots and their behaviour was incredibly frustrating. This is a great book; it’s well written and at times incredibly funny BUT... I missed all the sex, there’s still smutty stuff in this book but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as much as book one.
This couple have great banter outside the bedroom but inside they are passionate and explosive. Clayton sexy control and dominance and Sophie’s willing submission made for some of the sexiest scenes I’ve read in a long time.
Yet again Erik and Orie made for the most brilliant sidekicks and I almost enjoyed them as much as the romance.
I would have loved an epilogue or maybe there’s going to be a book 3 ... pretty pretty please let there be a book 3!!!
I though ally enjoyed this book, Mad Love 2 gets 4.5 stars from me.
Book Review - Mad Love 2 by Colet Adebi - 4 ‘Madly’ in love stars
Last year I read Mad Love and was blown away by Colet’s debut novel. Sure I had my issues with the seriously controlling Clayton but Sophie balanced him out a lot, so I let it go.
Now our couple are back, if apart. Sophie has run back home in pieces after her fling, and Clayton is still halfway around the world. For now.
I really really wished Sophie had not been so weak. In the first book she had her strong moments of standing up to Clayton. But here, in the aftermath of leaving, she completely fell apart from a week long holiday fling, only coming back into herself when her and Clayton cross paths again. I hate the idea of a woman not being able to function without a man. Sure, mope a little and miss him, but she turned into a basketcase. Still again, I give her a bit of rope because she is so young and therefore dramatic. Hey I’ve been there once, worn the tshirt and I look back and shake my head at myself now.
In this book we get the introduction of some wonderful side characters as we move locations to France on location for a job that Eric, Orie and Sophie take. In particular I loved Clayton’s brother Michael. We had heard about him in the first book but are finally introduced and yet still left wanting to find out more. In fact, Clayton’s family and offshoots are highly interesting and I’m pretty certain there is at least one book from the side characters stories just waiting to be told.
Colet’s prose is lovely and she is a very vivid storyteller. From travelling the countryside of France to the busy streets of London, we follow and explore Sophie’s journey. And yet in this, I just felt it didn’t quite reel me all the way in like book 1 did. Clayton & Sophie didn’t seem quite as explosive, Eric & Orie’s drama was unnecessary in my opinion They were so besotted with each other, that this didn’t quite ring true to me and actually made me cross (yes I get that caught up with characters, lol.)
Does Mad Love 2 finish and give us the ending that we hoped for in book one. It gives us an ending of sorts, that’s all I’m going to say, and I think you will be satisfied with it.. You aren’t left on a cliffhanger but there is room to see our characters again, perhaps popping up in Michael’s story, hint hint.
Mad Love 2 picks up with a heartbroken Sophie, back home in Los Angeles, licking her wounds after seeing Clayton with his ex on the cover of a tabloid. Where I found her strong at the end of the first book, albeit injured, she's more pathetically broken at the beginning of the second book. When Erik and Orie tell her about an opportunity to do what she loves, art, she reluctantly agrees to take the job and accompanies them to France where it turns out, the entire thing was orchestrated by Clayton.
Once again, Clayton and Sophie cannot deny their attraction and sparks fly. This time around, their relationship is slightly more balanced, although Clayton is still a controlling pig and Sophie is too quick to excuse his bad behavior because a) he's filthy rich and b) he's too attractive to be real. There are some tender moments between them, which helps offset the things that both of them do that make them less than likeable. When tragedy strikes Clayton's family, he shuts her out, but Sophie finally locates her missing spine and fights for what she wants.
Plot This installment is more character driven than the last book, with both Sophie and Clayton experiencing growth. The plot is still a romance, though, and it's still an extremely intense, edge-of-your-seat ride. There is more subplotting going on this time as well, involving secondary characters that adds to the overall enjoyment of the story.
Characters Clayton's controlling, angry, possessive behavior and Sophie's shallowness make them both hard to like at times. Both also have their moments when they're endearing. When Clayton is considerate, sweet, and playful. When Sophie is selfless and caring. The secondary characters, Erik, Orie, and Clayton's family all come across as well-developed and add to the story. One of the more interesting subplots involves Clayton's brother and his cousin-in-law.
The Ending The ending surprised me. I thought I knew what was going to happen and I was wrong. I love when that happens!
Bottom Line A worthy follow-up to Mad Love, it's intense, emotional, and delves deeper into the characters we've come to know. The jury is still out on whether or not I love them.
Disclaimer I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Holy smokes! My heart was racing at the end of Mad Love 2!! My mind was screaming NO, NO, NO and then luckily, I wasn’t devastated, but my heart still raced at how excited I was. (I had just been through a whirlwind of emotions – just a heads up.)
When I first started reading Mad Love 2, I feared I wouldn’t be able to get back into the story or that I would need to read Mad Love again to remember everything, but that wasn’t the case. Colet Abedi did a beautiful job bringing the reading back into the story and refreshing all the emotions of where the first book left off. I was right back there with Sophie and I was a hundred percent invested in Clayton and Sophie once again.
The first part of the book, I did feel as though lines were repeated, however it brought the reading into Sophie’s hurt/confused emotions. I’d imagine if I were in a situation like hers, I’d obsess over the same things that drove me mad, too. The rest of the book just hooked you, and no matter how many times you think “one more chapter” you are tres wrong.
I loved loved how the title of the story was brought into either the dialogue or Sophie’s thoughts in general. I felt as though I was getting a glimpse of how the author came to choosing this title and it fits perfectly!
Another thing I loved about this story was being a part of how the characters grew from beginning to end. The choice Sophie made at the end was … upsetting, but realistic and I appreciated her mindset in making her choice (I know this vague, but I don’t want to spoil anything because everyone SHOULD read this series.)
Sophie and Clayton’s story is one of a kind and it’s a MUST read. If I were to recommend any series for someone to read, this one definitely falls into the top five!
Congrats Colet Abedi and thank you for writing! – Tumbleweed Reviews
Mad Love is one of my top reads so I was beyond excited to read this next chapter in Sophie and Clayton’s story.
Colet Abedi has outdone herself with Mad Love 2!!! I could honestly not put it down. This story takes us to exotic locations, introduces new characters that you will fall in love with and will leave you breathless for more.
What I loved about this story is how Sophie finds her strength. She refuses to give up, even when things are at their worst. She is a truly wonderful character.
Clayton is still as swoonsworthy as ever. In this book we find out more about his past and family and despite certain obstacles, his love for Sophie has no limits. He proves his “Alpha Male” status.
Eric and Orie are back and as funny and loving as ever. EVERY woman deserves friends like them. They are by far, two of my favourite book characters ever.
One of my favourite series EVER and I cannot recommend this book enough. I have “Mad Love” for this series and author.
I waited a lot for this book, but hell it was so worth it!! I received an ARC provided by the Author (don't be jealous) This book bring us back Clayton and Sophie 2.0 and picks up right where the 1st book left off.. Sophie has been nursing a broken heart over whom she thought was the one.. with the help of her best friends Erik and Orie (which I might add are hilarious) she lands a job in Europe little did she know she would collide with the one person she never thought she would.. The story moves us into a roller coaster of emotions where you will experience love, sadness, heartbreak, happiness, sorry and angry moments.. what I like about this author and her stories is the fact that she writes in a sense where you get so wrapped up into the story that you think its actually happening to you in real life.. I can only pray that there will be a third book because I was left wanting more of Sophie and Clayton.. Now we live.. #Newfavoritequote
This is the fastest i finished reading a book LOL! It was so good i couldnt put it down. I fell in love with mad love and mad love 2 didnt disapppoint. The first book was funny. but this is even more hilarious. Eric, Orie and Sophie brought so much humor to the story, their exchanges of banters was wayyy too funny i was laughing my ass off especially during skiing. And of course who wouldnt fall in love with the super rich and hotter than hot Clayton (and Michael! Can't wait for his book!) He's controlling in a sweet kinda way, but no match to Sophie. I understand sophie why shes acting childish most times, because it is her first serious relationship..and first in all sorts of way.
Both locations are drool worthy! I wanna rate this book a 10! Lol! But changed my mind and give it a 9 instead just because I was expecting a badass proposal! Is there a book 3 coming? :-D
I absolutely loved this book! Sometimes you wait & wait for the next book in a series and by the time it comes out, you wonder if it's going to be as good as the first book. Well there was no need to worry with this book...it did not disappoint! Clayton & Sophie were so good together...even when Sophie was pissing Clayton off! When the news came about Clayton's brother, I was literally speechless and so incredibly sad! I freaking loved Erik!! He is perfect!! His no-nonsense sarcasm especially with Sophia is awesome! He made me laugh several times! I would love to read more about them...! I would definitely recommend this book! ❤️

Hot hot hot......I really loved this book and I did not want it to end. I love that Clayton finally let Sophie in. I love that finally Sophie found her voice and I love that they had such a world win romance. This book was funny and serious and everything in between and it made me want to fly around the world and find my own Clayton. I found it very easy to get sucked into this story and it's a must read!!!!!
Absolutely in MAD LOVE with MAD LOVE 2!!! Loved the first book and was dying to read more. I was not disappointed with this sequel. It was fantastic! I love Sophie and Clayton's story and was happy to see them together again. Their story is full of happiness, sadness, love, lust, and laughter. It is a definite must read!
Highly recommend! Colet has written a sexy and satisfying sequel to the Clayton & Sophie love story. It's a perfect blend of 'Pride & Prejudice' meets 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I'm sad this story has come to an end but feel content knowing which direction their lives have gone. Thank you for this beautiful story! Can't wait to read more of your work!
Really enjoyed this story, I liked the pace and the writing style was easy to read. I hadn't read book 1 but had no problems picking up the story ... My only disappointment was the way it finished - it kind of just finished but seemed to leave loads of unanswered questions.
OMG!! Everyone should have a Erik in their lives!! It was outstanding. Clayton and Sophie need to have a follow up novella or keep following them through Abby and Michael. There's more to them, I believe. There is a book on the works, right!? If not, you most definitely need to start.
