An in-depth look at the entire text of the U. S. Constitution, annotated with detailed explanations of its terms and contents. Each Amendment and Article is accompanied by sidebar material on the history of its application, including profiles of important Supreme Court cases, texts of related primary source documents, and contemporary news articles. Double page timelines for several of the Articles and all the Amendments highlight important events and legal cases. Visually stunning, with facsimile reproductions of primary source documents, paintings, photos, and historical artifacts, Our Constitution is perfect for history students.
A great book for any student needing to brush up on their understanding of the constitution or needs clarification of the document. The best moments of the book come where the sections of the Constitution are broken-down into language and current examples our students can find relatable and better understand the topic. I would recommend this book to any history student or high school senior who in IL need to pass the Constitution test for graduation. I wouldn’t say it would appeal to a leisure reading audience but for classroom use I highly recommend it.
Awesome!! Exactly what I think a book on this topic should be like. For each part of the document he lists the exact words and then a section entitled, "What is says" and "What it means" with modern and historical applications.
