As London falls under the hand of the Tyrant, war grips Earth as well as the magical land of Tí¬r. The fate of both lies in the hands of five teenagers.
Mark and Nan attempt to save the life of one of their friends in London, meanwhile Penny is lost in the eerie confines of the Black Rose, where her expanding imagination is being manipulated by dark forces.
On Tí¬r, Alan leads his Shee army towards the Tyrant's capital city, Ghork Mega, but his advance falters. As Kate flies in to help him, a heartbroken Mo fears that she is not brave enough to prevent the Tyrant from assuming full control of the Fàil - the item that will allow him to cement his power forever.
I write epic fantasy novels, which began with a series of four books, These were, The Three Powers, which began with The Snowmelt River, and continued with The Tower of Bones, The Sword of Feimhin and ended with The Return of the Arinn.
I was lucky enough for my books to have gathered excellent reviews from various sources including the British Fantasy Society and Starburst Magazine, which helped to push them into the top ten bestseller list of epic fantasy novels on amazon.
More recently I began a new epic fantasy trilogy, which began with epic advantures of Eefa and Magio, who are The Twins of Moon, which got great reviews. It was followed by The Sea of Stars, which will soon be competed with publication of the third and final book, the title of which will be released soon, and which figures dragons in a major and very exciting way. All of these are published in kindle and in paperback.
It was wonderful for the Twins of Moon Trilogy to be reviewed on Amazon and available for sales through swiftpublishers. It was wonderful to have it reviewed on Amazon as Tolkein for a younger reader. Though the twins do mature to adult by the end of the series.
Great to have another fabulous wraparound cover by the renowned fantasy artist Mark Salwowski! More at my dedicated websites www.frankpryan.com and www.swiftpublishers.com.
The final book in the trilogy is likely to be available by late 2023 or early 2024. I'll be sure to keep folks who are interested informed as to when it is coming out.
Do write to me if you want to know anything of what is happening.
"The Return of the Arinn" the final chapter in the epic fantasy "the Three Powers" is set between three worlds; Earth, the magical land of Tir and the mysterious in-between world of Dromenon. Mesmerizing in its complexity Frank Ryan cleverly weaves together strands of a story that begin with the Tyrant's war in a London devastated and chaotic. Faced with the deadly menace of the Black Rose Mark Grimstone and Nantosueta (Nan) and their friends fight the sinister machine that not only threatens the desolation of Earth but holds Gully Dougherty, Penny Postlethwaite's friend hostage.
In Dromenon an unreal and enigmatic plane of existence Penny struggles against Jeremiah's control, fearing his ruthless manipulation of her ability. Wanting to protect Gully she has made a bargain with the inhuman tyrant whose plans include developing her imagination and creativity to influence the minds of the Akkharu, the weavers of stardust.
While on Tir the sister world to Earth where war has raged for over thousands of years, Alan Duval and Kate Shaunessy and an army of Gargs, Shee and Kyra are marching against the Tyrant's capital city of Ghork Mega facing obstacles that could destroy any hope they have of freeing the land from the powerful mage's oppression and cruelty.
As the threads of the plot twist and turn, they knit into a story that's action-packed and innovative, as the fate of the worlds lies in the hands of five teenagers with supernatural powers. As the intensity and suspense escalate the teens begin to change as events unfold; no one more than Maureen (Mo) Grimstone, Mark's adopted sister whose body and spirit metamorphosis opens the way for the Arinn of prophecy to appear with the promise of renewal. As the clash of wills builds into an explosive confrontation Mo must overcome her fear and Mark, Nan, Alan, Kate make a decision that will not only prevent the Tyrant from using Penny and the power of the Fàil to become a god but change the course of time forever.
In this fantasy Frank Ryan lets his imagination soar, creating strange violent creatures; Septemviles like Earthbane who appear as mist and shadow poisoning the land and warriors alike; the gigantic bot Bad Day; and deadly machines like the Black Rose fueled by energy from the sun. With vivid imagery he juxtaposes an ancient world of magic, medieval weaponry and fantastical creatures against the reality of an Earth plagued by tsunamis and a burning landscape.
Like previous novels the characters continue to grow in complexity adding their own blend of passion and power to the drama. Alan leader of Tir's army and armed with the first power is driven to destroy Ghork Mega and the Tyrant, but is often insecure about his decisions. Maureen (Mo) Grimstone bolsters his courage while dealing with the fear and uncertainty of her fate. Kate, holder of the Second Power in the oraculum on her brow and Alan's girlfriend is impulsive, stubborn and determined. On Earth Mark who wields the third power is resourceful and fearless in his fight against Commander Seebox's Paramilitaries and Skulls while the streetwise kid Gully who's swept up by a bot after a bicycle accident while trying to find Penny is pig-headed and pragmatic. Penny a troubled teen struggles with Jeremiah's persistent attempts to control her; wanting the freedom of choice and hating any of his evil, inhuman plans. These characters and others have grown with the series as they face almost insurmountable challenges and the vicious callousness of the Tyrant's minions.
I thoroughly enjoyed "The Return of the Arinn" with its unique, inventive plot and unforgettable characters and I recommend it to all those that love a fantasy adventure series you can't put down until the end.
Frank P. Ryan has done it again. The craftsmanship of this book was simply beautiful. The final installment of the adventures of Mark, Mo, Kate and Alan was truly beautiful. I loved how Frank P. Ryan created the end battle of the story but I only had one problem. Mo changed too much for my liking. She went from being kind of shy and dependent and a general pre-teen to being an almost fully grown woman. I felt life the Mo of the first 3 books disappeared in The Return of the Arinn. She pretty much deserted Turkeya and Qwenquo for Magtokk. Other than that, the book was simply beautiful.

Excellent book. Simply excellent. And an unexpected end to an amazing saga.so many twists and turns leading to an ultimate final confrontation between good and evil.
an unexpected end for many beloved characters and a timely demise for those who brought darkness with them.
an excellent conclusion to one of the most exciting and accurate sagas I have read in a very long time.
Quick read and really believable characters. I feel like you really do need to read the books before it in the series to undertand this book fully though but it is a great series that I'd happily re read
I won this book through a goodreads giveaway so I didn't read the first three books first. Maybe that was why it was a little hard for me to keep up with all the characters and settings. Some of the names were hard to pronounce and I just didn't feel connected to the characters. Reading the other reviews, I think I need to go back, read the other books, and then try this one again. I do think this book will make an excellent movie though. *Crossing my fingers they make one soon
I received a free copy of this book from a giveaway on goodreads. My unbiased review is as follows.
I didn't like this book. The unneeded characters and symails made me upset, and triggered my OCD. I read through to the fifth "chapter" and promptly threw this into the trash. I don't wanna sound ungrateful, I mean for Christ's sake it was a free book... but this book put me through hell.
