Series is getting better, whether because the writing is better or because I'm becoming more accustomed to Kendrick's style, I can't say. There are some grammatical errors still, but they're not as pervasive.
In The Real Gyro, Maeve has some competition with a new truck on the block called Waiting for a Gyro (neat puns in these names)...until the owner ends up dead. Well, Maeve had tried to purchase that truck before, so she's a suspect in Danvers' eyes. Land is working with Danvers on an undercover surveillance mission, which leaves him exhausted, but Maeve gets the chance to purchase the truck, doubling her fleet size. Land gets the new truck and tries out his basque cuisine, and they hire a helper who mostly helps out in the new truck after training in the Dogs on a Roll truck.
As always, lots going on, and the end just zips up so quickly...almost too abruptly after the pace of the rest of the book, what with repeating thoughts going through Maeve's head and everything.
