Everybody wants something from Prospect Pointe. But nothing comes without a price.
Bull and Toni have fought too hard for their life together to watch it fall apart now. Just when peace finally seems within reach, unfinished business puts the woman and family Bull loves at risk. With the threat closer than either of them expected, Bull has to decide how far he’s willing to go to protect them.
Toni is more than someone he could lose. She’s the woman he wants to share the life they’ve been fighting for.
Eazy and Lotus have a baby on the way and a future to look forward to. What started between them has become something neither expected, and now there’s a family to think about. But secrets from Lotus’s past threaten the trust they’ve built, leaving Eazy questioning what he thought he knew about the woman he loves.
He wants a future with her. Her past won’t let them get there that easily.
And when it comes too close, Eazy discovers there are some lines he won’t allow anyone to cross.
Meanwhile, loyalty in Prospect Pointe is getting harder to count on. Friendships have fractured, family ties are being tested, and the missing paintings everyone thought were gone may be the key to settling a war that has already cost too much.
For Bull, Toni, Eazy, and Lotus, the stakes go beyond the streets. It’s the person they come home to. The family they’re building. The chance to love each other without waiting for something else to go wrong.
But protecting that future means making choices they’ll have to live with. And this time, there’s no walking away from the consequences.
Because being a hood wife or a rich goon was never just about surviving the streets.
It’s about surviving each other.
A Hood Wife And A Rich Goon 2 by SL Partee is the series finale, blending African American romance with romantic suspense as two couples fight for their future. For readers who love urban romance filled with family loyalty, dangerous secrets, and love worth protecting.
The plot was there, but the execution was weak as hell. Some of this was seriously some of the most nonsensical stuff I’ve read because the rules only seemed to matter when the story needed them to.
The whole marriage pact made no sense. The reason Bull married Toni was because being married supposedly protected her from being killed by his ppl. Braxton and Brenda were married too (Bull’s parents) yet Brenda killed Braxton with no problem when she found out he was behind Bronx’s death. The cleanup crew came, handled the body, and everybody kept it moving. But when Midas, the actual killer, married Essence, suddenly everybody had to respect the marriage pact and let him live? Huh?! Then when it was time for the book to end, they killed him anyway despite the marriage. So what exactly were we waiting for? They could’ve handled Midas a long time ago.
Niva’s logic was another thing that made absolutely no sense. Before the attempt on her life, she felt like Oracle did not like her, yet somehow she trusted him enough to know she was alive while keeping Eazy in the dark and letting him think she dead?? Her man, the love of her life, whose actions showed how deeply he loved her, was somehow less trustworthy than Oracle? She had shit for brains. Be serious. I love drama, but the characters’ actions still need to make logical sense.
Essence was the dunkey of the story. One minute she was on Bull’s dick about him not wanting her, then boom, she was married to Midas. When tf did they even build a relationship? Give me something first so the marriage actually feels like a bomb being dropped. Bull married Toni quickly too, but their situation was developed enough for me to understand it..Even-though the marriage pact was bullshit. Essence barely knew Midas and married a damn stranger just to feel loved. Then she defended him until his death, and we didn’t even get her reaction afterward. How did she feel when he died? It’s like boom, epilogue. Eighteen months later she’s back close with the family like she wasn’t going to war with them about her so called husband.
These MMCs were letting way too much shit slide. Oracle playing paralyzed, Niva faking her death, Midas killing Bronx and then casually sitting in everybody’s face. These were some beta ass MMCs.
Characters and storylines would pop up and disappear. Like Fancy, she got her shit off earlier in the book and then basically vanished. Oracle faded into the background too, and I kept wondering what his snake ass was doing.
The romance needed more development for Lotus and Eazy. Their romance was a flop for me because they were either off page or on bad terms when they did show up. Show me vulnerable Eazy. Show me Lotus getting through to him and making that man fall hard. Don’t just put them together with a forced HEA. I wasn’t convinced enough by their relationship, so I could easily tell myself Eazy was only dealing with her for the sake of his child. 🤷🏽♀️ That man was never over Niva.

There were issues and enemies everywhere. Deceitful parents, siblings, exes and so called friends. It's all in here and coming to a head. This is the first time not one of thr men fell for the trickery or entitlement with the sneaky exes because they fumbled the good one. The couples are thriving now that their enemies are handled. Love came in all the men's lives and it was all for the good. Bronx came and helped Bull solve the mystery and catch Midas' judas butt red handed. Now it's Kids and bellies erywhere but their all happy and thriving. Well not the exes.
10/10 The characters, the plot, and the flow of the book.I love the fact that Bull,Eazy, and Jewel got their stuff together and were able to be the man that their woman deserved. The way they didn’t give into temptation was commendable.I kinda figured the daddy was a greasy slimeball, and it turns out I was right. In the end,the ones who were in the wrong got exactly what they deserved and the ones who had been through enough of the rain finally got their sunshine. This book was perfect.
I loved this read. It was worth stopping the other book I was reading. A bittersweet ending for me but I feel everyone got what they deserved. I feel bad for Essence and the fact that Toni can’t have the relationship she deserves with her dad but she gained so much in spite of everything. Knowing the truth now, I do feel bad for Bronx. However, what Toni got was way better. To have two brothers fall for you is crazy tho
Jewel was the absolute gem in this book. I loved how his comedic relief seemed to fit just right. With that being said, I waited for the finale and was not disappointed. Getting to witness Bull, Toni, Easy, Lotus, Jewel, and Rhema navigate the craziness that is Prospect Pointe, while learning and mastering their relationships made for a great read. As usual, great job!
Whew a lot of moving pieces and so many ppl getting their karma. Braxton met his demise from his own wife. Mothers dont play about their kids. Full of drama, jealousy, envy, bad parenting, love romance, family, and more. Great plot and easy to follow. Everything worked out as it should. Marriages and babies
When it comes to a S. L. Partee’s book/series you’ll never be disappointed. I absolutely loved this series. It was great from the very beginning. I loved these characters. Jewels was the funniest. I’m glad everyone got exactly what they deserved. I highly recommend this series. It’s most definitely a must read.
This book felt kind of rushed. To me it was over descriptive and I wish that that was used to go more into depth with the storyline
Easy annoyed me with Lotus not telling him about Evern Yeah I get safety reasons, but it wasn’t that big of a deal he made it seem like she was cheating.
Jewel is so funny, like he provided the perfect amount of comedy. I kind of wanted more of Bull and Toni, this seemed more like a Eazy and Lotus story featuring the others. I was glad all the villains got what they deserved!
Hands down, S.L. Partee is a beast with her pen game. Her characters are always so well developed with a strong storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
This us a good ride! Toni Bull truly build! Talk about started from the bottom now we here! Tragedy turns into a beautiful like! Hands down Jewel is the glue 🤭
I enjoyed the ending to this duet, but I needed more of a connection between the two relationships; I ended the book not feeling like they were each other's person.
The final picture at the end a my favorite part! This was a pretty good series. It was entertaining and filled with lots of love and drama. It didn't disappoint
