Clio has forsaken the Deities and turned her back on her powers. Unable to trust her Visions, she is left alone and weak on the outskirts of Sheehan.
When the Emperor hears that an Oracle has survived in the Empire, he places a price on her head, forcing Clio to flee to the ancient city of Cearo. But the Deities have other plans for Clio, and it’s not long before she is faced with new foes, including a priestess with uncanny powers.
With rumors of unrest in the Empire growing and alliances within the nobles shifting, Riece seeks out Clio with a desperate plea. To protect the Empire, Clio will have to return to where her journey began—the sacrificial pyramid of Morek—to fight a new evil in an unimaginable form and confront the greatest enemy she's ever known: her father.

Full disclosure, I was a beta-reader for the second novel in this series and MY NAME IS IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS OF THIS BOOK and I am still so humbled and amazed about this fact that it has taken me nearly five months to be able to recover from the shock and even function somewhere close to properly in regards to writing a review for this book.....
"Love makes blind slaves of us all."
If ^^ is true, then call me a blind slave.
I LOVE THIS SERIES. It makes me so incredibly sad that more people have not seen the beauty of it. I WANT EVERYONE TO READ IT.
Seriously. If you pick up ONE indie book this year, make it the first book in this trilogy. You won't be sorry. And if you are, then
But anyway.
This book. *happy sighs*
I put off reading it for a long time, because I was terrified of what was going to happen. And you know what, I was right to be terrified. There is so much happening in this installment! So many threads to tie off. All the balls in the air. HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY WORK?
I needn't have worried. Ms. Wibberley and the glory that is RIECE made this an incredible adventure that was filled with angst, heartbreak, mystery and adventure. Yes, Clio is an idiot at some points, again. But even with her being idiotic, I positively FLEW threw these pages.
I saw many things coming, but I did not care! I LOVED every single second of reading this book and I wish I could go back in time to when I had not read it, so I could read it for the first time all over again.
Emily Wibberley. I bow down to thee. What a finale. I can't wait to see what you do next.
Divined!!! Thanks so much to Emily for sending this my way and letting me read it. The book came out yesterday and I can't urge you enough to check out this book series. All three books are out now and they are amazing. Especially if you are new to ya fantasy, this series is an amazing start.
It's not humanly possible to actually explain how much I love these books, the characters, the story and the writing. It's not possible.
I won't go into much detail about this book, cause it's the third and last book in the series and I don't wont to give anything away.
It's been a while since I have read the second book in the series but it didn't take me long to get back into the story and back into the world of Oracles and Deitys. The writing was amazing as always. Especially the fighting scenes, I love how Emily writes them and makes me visualize exactly what's going on.
We see many side characters from the first two books again. I just love Ashira and Ixie. I loved having Tirza being in this book again. And Zarae, she is one of those characters that I should hate. Ahhh, she makes so many questionable things but I just love her. I can't help myself. Derick, for me he is always just there. I don't love him, I don't hate him. He's just there.
And we got a few new characters that I absolutely loved. Ealis, I loved him the moment he showed up (and was hoping very much that he wouldn't betray my trust). There was just something about him that I really liked and he grew on me more and more throughout the book. Also Atzi, I was ready to hate her the moment she appeared cause I didn't trust her at all. And I was so worried she would come between Ixie and Clio/Ashira. But then she actually helped Clio and she just really grew on me to the point were I was very nervous that something could happen to her.
Storywise, I won't say anything about this. I loved it. It was actionpacked and amazing. So many things very happening. It didn't feel rushed but there was also never a dull moment. So for me it was perfect.
The ending. I won't spoil it. BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!! Especially the end end. You know. The very end. The last few pages. THAT END, was especially beautiful to me.
I can't wait to reread the whole series again, that's how much I love everything about this series.
*ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review* I've been obsessed with this trilogy ever since I read the premise of book one and my obsession has only multiplied. This trilogy promised brutality, adventure, star crossed lovers, and so much more. And boy did it deliver. It makes me sad to be typing this review considering this is the conclusion to this epic trilogy. In the first book, we meet Clio, one of the daughters of an Oracle. We follow her as she grows into her role as one but, we soon find out that most of the world surrounding her isn't too fond of Oracles, especially a particular Emperor. She has to live her life with the weight of it on her shoulders and things pick up rapidly after that. The pace doesn't let up until the last page of the trilogy. We see Clio grow from a child in doubt of her role in the world, into a woman to be reckoned with. Fighting until her last breath. She's, by far, one of my favorite female protagonists ever. I love how her mind works and the actions that she takes, with no hesitation, in order to save those she loves. If I was ever in doubt of her, I don't remember it. She puts others before herself and the supporting characters aren't any less amazing. Like I said, this is a fast-paced series and it kept me on my toes from the first cover until the last. I was easily transported into this world from the very first page, even after months of being out of it. I couldn't put this down and managed to read it in one day. And that's saying something considering this is a 400 page book but I didn't even feel any of it. Can we talk about how perfect Riece and Clio are for a second?! They are one of my favorite couples to date and with good reason. The chemistry between both of them was palpable and there were no cracks in their foundation where any form of doubt could seep in. I believed their love as if it were my own and I absolutely loved their banter. They kept me laughing hysterically and crying whenever they were apart, physically and emotionally. I loved watching them grow as individuals, as well as a couple. Their love and strength was tested time and time again but their loyalty towards each other knew no bounds and I couldn't help to but root for them every step of the way. I loved how Emily wasn't afraid of adding cringe-worthy elements in the story. She didn't pull back any punches and I bow down to her for it. It made the story line that much more believable since the world isn't sugar coated and Emily brought that into play in this phenomenal world. Some minor things that happened were predictable but that wasn't the case where it mattered. Especially with that ending!!! That ending... was the most beautiful ending to a trilogy I've ever read. Or like I told Emily, the most beautiful beginning. I couldn't stop crying as soon as a particular something was revealed, until after I had finished the book. I was left giddy and my heart swelled to massive proportions with pride and love for these characters. I'm pretty surprised I didn't choke on it. I'm devastated to see this trilogy go but I'm just happy that I got to read about in the first place. Thank you Emily for creating such an unbelievable world, with intense and memorable characters!
So sad the series is over, but I could not be more happy with the way it ended. While all the storylines were tied up, they were not packaged so tightly as to give an unrealistic feel to the novel. I believed every ending to each line and can see the characters' futures by filling them in with my imagination. Overall 5/5 stars; a must-read trilogy!
Wow. What an epic ending to a stellar series. I was sad to see it come to an end, but Emily Wibberley have a way with wrapping things up perfectly. The story flows so well, and every detail is so well thought out. Clio is a kick-ass heroine who never once let me down. I loved the developing relationship between her and Riece. I also loved her side kicks and the new characters introduced. Excellent twists and turns. Awesome action. And so much heart. It's hard to believe this is Emily's debut series. She already has the chops of a seasoned author. I look very forward to a lot more from Ms. Wibberley! Highly recommend this series if you're looking for young adult action adventure in a fantasy realm that echos ancient Mayan culture.
3.5 stars I have been waiting so long to find out how this series ended, and finally the book was cheap enough for me to buy so I couldn't wait to jump into it. The beginning wasn't actually all that exciting. In fact probably almost the first 50% of the book pretty much nothing happens. But after that it picks right up and gets good. The ending was great and even went down in a way that I was not expecting, which is rare and fantastic.
So like I said, the first almost half of the book nothing really happens. It's all pretty much just Clio and her retainers doing nothing or leaving the empire. Clio has forsaken the deities but seemingly everyone else as well considering that she refuses to have anything to do with any others. She poisons herself in her attempt to keep Vazuil at bay and that takes an immense toll on her body. Despite Riece not wanting her to leave, Clio sees no choice when she hears the price on her head now that the emperor has heard an Oracle still lives. Eventually her, Ashira, and Zarae make it to the city of Cearo. A city that's more peaceful and accepting than any place Clio could have ever imagined. It's there that she meets Ealis. Despite his young age, he is one of the leaders of the city and he has taken a keen interest in Clio. I loved Ealis (though never as much as I absolutely LOVE Riece) so I was happy that he stayed around for whole rest of the book. It takes time, but eventually Clio trusts Ealis enough to tell him her whole truth. And together they scour the city's library for anything that can help her. Just when they find something that has Vazuil freaking out, a kid bursts in to let Ealis know a commander from Morek has arrived demanding a thief be turned over.
Clio knows immediately that Riece has found her and she goes to him. They argue, as they often do, but oh how she has missed him. Bad things quickly happen and the next thing she knows Riece has been kidnapped and the only way to keep him and the others safe is to go willingly with another Oracle that has tracked her down. She doesn't believe she's there to help her...until she actually does and Clio has found a new sense of freedom. She has agreed to return to Morek and help prevent war and unspeakable bloodshed, but while on their way the group gets surrounded and captured once again. What awaits them once they return to Morek shocks them all in so many ways. From there, things happen fast. Bad people appear to be good people, good people end up being bad people and evil deities show up to take over the world. Unexpected sacrifices are made and Clio fights harder than she ever has before along side all of those she cares about the most, all in order to free the empire and save as many people as possible.
The ending was so good. I was so happy for Riece to finally get what he has desired for so long. The surprises didn't end with that final battle either as Clio gets a surprise visit and with that accepts her new roles.
This really was such a good series and I found myself often wanting to reread the first books again while reading this one. I look forward to checking out more from this author in the future.
At the beginning, it was a little boring but as you progressed it got more and more interesting. on the back of the book it tells how how this book is the epic conclusion of the series, but they don't even know how epic. If you really enjoyed the first ones then you will fall head over heals for this one. (Spoiler Ahead: if you hate spoilers do not read further) The ending definitely caught me by surprise and I have a gift when t comes to determining endings but I did not see this coming. I can't believe Ashira died for Clio! I also wished that Vazuil had told them before hand that they had to "cleanse" the knife (that would have been very helpful). Now that Ashira is a Deity and all, I hope Emily Wibberly makes another series. I want it to contiue with there being no fear of deities anymore but maybe new complications. She could call the series, I don't know, the Age of the Oracles series. They could fight new foe and maybe uncover new things they never knew about, have evil new deities that have learned a little too much of Kusa's knowledge and is using it for evil, the old deities come back and are waging war agianst Clio's Deity friends so she has all her friends try and help them, or maybe the ceynote spots are spreading cutting Ashira off from Clio so they must uncover what dark force is doing this and destroy it (the cause should be Clio's aunt that was thought to have hung herself but really didn't and Mannix lied).
The ending of this book was 10/10 amazing I loved it. Riece and her getting married finally? Was the best part. Her becoming an oracle to her dearest friend/sister was truly amazing made my heart melt absolutely love this book series

Even though Clio completely frustrated me throughout the story, I'm extremely satisfied with the ending and glad that I persisted and completed this series.
Divined is the third and final instalment in Emily Wibberley’s sensational Last Oracle series and is a fast paced, thrilling and fantastic way to end a series that has been captivating, engaging and edge-of-your-seat addictive from the very beginning.
Having turned her back on the Deities and forsaken her powers as the Oracle, Clio finds herself leaving Sheehan, weak and disheartened; hoping to protect those she loves for as long as possible. Yet when Riece tracks her down and asks for assistance regarding the growing unrest in the Empire, Clio soon learns that Morek and Sheehan are set to go to war against each other, and even worse…..a new and powerful enemy is determined to take over in Morek. Returning to the place Clio began her journey, she, Riece and their friends must take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever known if they hope to stop immense bloodshed and stop a powerful Deity from destroying everything they hold dear….
Phew! What a story! After finishing this novel, I can honestly say there’s nothing I can really fault about it. Divined was everything I was hoping it would be; action packed, forward moving, romantic, charismatic and chemistry filled--Wibberley hit the nail on the head as she raced her characters towards a dangerous confrontation against a foe who you wouldn’t have necessarily expected them to face.
Well written and delightfully paced, Divined sees Clio make her final stand with alliances shifting, new friends made and powerful beings determined to take control of Morek and the neighbouring land of Sheehan. Emily Wibberley has taken Clio on one dangerous journey after another and she has grown a lot, becoming a stronger woman, a warrior and a fighter, but even Clio doubts and struggles in this novel; having to make big choices where success isn’t always guaranteed. Yet this stubborn heroine has never given up and I commend Wibberley for writing a heroine so likable, personable and enjoyable to follow.
In the desert land setting of Morek and Sheehan, we’ve seen Clio come a long way and alongside Riece, she’s wormed her way into my heart. Wibberley won me over the moment she introduced Riece to the series; a confidant and charming young Commander who has had a terrific chemistry alongside Clio since the moment they met. Forced apart time and time again due to reasons that weren’t always within their control, Clio and Riece sizzle whenever they’re together and Divined is no exception to this rule with plenty of fabulous scenes that are full of the Riece and Clio fire and passion I’ve come to love! Theirs is the best kind of forbidden I love and I can’t adore them more.
Divined is a very entertaining novel. Clio and Riece are supported by a vast array of characters who make up a brilliant ensemble of characters. Ixie, Ashira and Derik have always been wonderful and the inclusion of Ealis was a great addition to the story that sees another of our characters find unexpected happiness—after a lot of delicious tension and back and forth banter that is!
Heart felt and powerful, Divined isn’t without its loss, as no epic and final confrontation would be. Emily Wibberley doesn’t spare her characters from pain, but in the midst of a fast paced novel with plenty of twists and developments, gives us an ending she should be darn proud of…..that allows us to rest knowing Clio, Riece and those they love will live happily ever after.
If you haven’t read this series, now is the perfect moment to start The Last Oracle trilogy and fall in love with this luscious, dangerous and completely addictive world Emily Wibberley has penned. Highly recommend!

"You can never be certain you're making the right choice, and you're going to have to start making decisions without knowing what will come of them."
I have mixed feelings about Divined. I really liked certain aspects of the book and the ending did tie everything together really well. Yet I can't say I was happy with it either. Strangely my biggest problem was one of the biggest strengths of the two previous books. Our protagonist, Clio. [Read more...] I feel as if the Clio from the end of book 2 and the Clio in Divined are not even the same person. This along with a disappointing lack of explanation as to the change. What happened to the character growth we gained in book two? The Clio that makes her own decisions and faces her problems head on? This Clio is dependent on a drug made by a guy she doesn't know that well, KNOWS THAT IT IS KILLING HER and takes it anyway to avoid dealing with her problems? WTF? Clio treats Ixie like absolute crap because GOD FORBID ANYONE BUT CLIO BE RIGHT. Her treatment and recurrent verbal abuse of Ixie was borderline unacceptable. Cause guess what? You were a raging bitch throughout most of this book Clio. And you know what the best part is? She didn't even apologize, or admit that what Ixie did was right. She just says a bunch of crap about how Ixie was so rash, and didn't have any idea what she was doing and how dare she endanger everyone?
Condescending much? It got old, quick. Ixie deserved way better. Yeeeet at least she got a love interest. Go Ixie. I'm rooting for you girl. You're the best friend a girl could have.
On the flip side, I loved Riece as per usual, he was always so straight forward and didn't take Clio's crap-tastic attitude. I still love their romance. It didn't quite have the same feeling as the other books but I can't quite put my feeling on why. Now they didn't have all that many interactions but I guess it just didn't feel like Clio was as in love with Riece as she was in the previous books. Perhaps it was because of their confession in the last one? I know she can't be awesome 100% of the time but it just felt like all that she worked through in the second book was for naught. I know that she was unsure of what to do without using her visions but come on. I like her character so much but she was so frustrating. So mixed feelings yes.
Zarae was awesome and Clio's treatment of her was abysmal as well. Her continued jealousy and acting like she was constantly the enemy was just petty. I thought Clio better than that. Think she got a bit too full of her own virtue in this one for me to stomach well. Derek was barely in this one but we got to see a WHOLE LOT of her two vessels. Ixie and Ashira are just so amazing. I loved both of their characters SO MUCH.
Ashira. Arghahaha that end. SO PERFECT.
I LOVED the new characters introduced in this book. Loved loved loved them! I also really enjoyed the ending and how it all tied together in the end. The ending was dramatic and really gave off that full circle feeling. It had such a clean ending that I really enjoyed. It had so many elements that were spectacular.
All in all I absolutely love the Oracle series. While annoyed with Clio in this book I still really enjoyed it, I loved the ending and I loved how the book moved forward. It had a spectacular end to a spectacular series and I am overjoyed that this was such a strong series. Love love love love love it.
The last 25% of the book has left me completely emotionally drained! AAAAHHHHH! And this is the last Last Oracle book!
My Review: I did not realize until the end of the novel that Divined is the last Last Oracle book! AAAHHH! This is the last book with Clio and the gang! I am definitely going to miss this world.
Clio spends the majority of Divined trying to get away from the control of the Deities. After the way Forsworn ended, Clio knows that she can no longer trust the visions she is being sent.
So Clio runs away from the people she loves. She thinks this will keep them safe from the danger that seems to follow her wherever she goes. She leaves her oldest friend, King Derik of Sheehan. She leaves Riece, the person she loves the most who also happens to be the heir to the empire that wants her dead.
What is a girl to do when she finally has to stop running? When do you finally decide that enough is enough? When do you finally take a stand against the Deities for all the wrong they have done? These are some of the questions Clio has to grapple with in Divined.
Then there is Riece. He doesn’t want Clio to leave him. He truly loves her even after all the running she has done. He wants to protect her forever. But how does a mortal protect the Oracle from the Deities she is bound to serve? How can Riece save Clio from herself?
Ashira and Ixie, Clio’s Vessels, will follow wherever she leads. Ixie is the fighter. She can be impetuous and a bit insane at times but that does not mean she doesn’t love Clio in her own way. Ashira is the quiet one with lots of compassion. She would rather avoid fights. She is sensitive and supportive.
The girls meet Ealis when they flee the Empire. He has gifts of his own and, for some reason, he wants to give Clio any help she needs. He is an interesting character who, I have to say, grew on me as the story progressed.
I have never exactly liked Zarae. This book does nothing to improve my opinion of her. She is a manipulative princess willing to do anything for her country.
Atzi is an interesting character. She is definitely unique, I can say. Her relationship with the Deities is… interesting and different from the way Clio perceives them. It took me some time to warm up to her.
Tirza, she has spunk. She knows what she wants and she loves her brother, Riece, unconditionally. She comes off as a bit weak sometimes but, near the end, she definitely shows strength.
Divined was an amazing ending to the Last Oracle series. I also love that Wibberley isn’t afraid to put all our precious characters in mortal peril. In a battle against a super-powerful Deity, not everyone is going to come out unscathed and death is a very real outcome.
I love Divined and I am going to miss reentering the world of Sheehan and Morek. I will have to rearead this amazing series. If you haven’t read this series yet, go start it now!
I received this book for free from the author for review consideration. This in no way affects my opinion of the title nor the content of this review.
I’ve been a fan since the beginning, and Divined delivers everything I could’ve wanted out of an epic conclusion to this outstanding YA fantasy series.
Before I point out everything I loved about the story structure and the continued development of Last Oracle’s characters, one thing particularly worth praising in Divined is its exploration of the wider world those characters inhabit. It’s something promised in the previous installments, in some of their most interesting plotlines—Zarae’s origins in the Corner, for instance; Riece’s military conquests more generally hinted at the Westeros-esque breadth of a world we’d only begun to explore.
Sacrified and Forsworn developed in detail the dynamic between the two intimately connected cities Morek and Sheehan, and the introduction of a third civilization—Cearo, complex, treacherous and a bit magical—in Divined enriches the series in a couple ways. For one, the author’s descriptive power is at its height, and the environment and locales of Cearo—in particular a supernaturally-tinged location drawn to some degree from South American lore—are immersive and imaginable.
But further, one of Divined’s most engaging aspects is watching Clio interact with a city in a new way. Neither fugitive nor dignitary in Cearo, she connects with and is challenged by new characters—a governmental leader and the priestess mentioned in the blurb—whose agendas and relationships to her are subtler and more complicated.
Now for the plot. First of all, everyone knows an adventure engages or bores relative to the imperative of the villain. Divined provides new antagonists among gods (like in Forsworn) and men (like in Sacrified) whose aims are grander and more cruel than those of the previous installments’ Big Bads—and manages, like Forsworn did, to repurpose the series’ previous villains in unexpected, unpredictable ways.
Then there’s Clio and Riece. What’s most compelling about their story in Divined is that it fundamentally concerns—without spoiling anything—their futures in a much more direct way than Sacrificed and Forsworn did. Their conflicts and banter are the same (fortunately), but the stakes are a lot higher. Derik and Zarae remain in the picture, too.
Clio herself continues to be everything one could want out of a heroine. She embodies every likable contradiction. She’s self-sufficient while sometimes showing vulnerability, wise while sometimes making deeply flawed choices for noble reasons. She endures trials, even horrors, with both fearsome intensity and a wonderful sense of humor. Divined wouldn’t be what it is without her perfectly written central presence.
The conclusion—yeah, I’m trying really hard not to spoil anything—is inspiring and nuanced, with keen thought given to the characters’ responsibilities in a world that feels like it’ll continue once we’ve stopped turning the pages.
Which it’s unfortunate we have to do. Divined is the ideal conclusion to an accomplishment of a series.

I was given a book in exchange for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.
I was given the opportunity to get my hands on an early copy. I had to take it because I've been waiting to read this book. I was anxious after Forsaken because I knew the end was coming and I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to take my time to read it and savor it but I couldn't. I felt like a little kid again. I read it until my Kindle died. I found myself in the middle of the night hovering in the corner with my Kindle on the charger trying to read. It was almost comical. I would lay back down and stare at the ceiling knowing I just needed to read one more chapter. Next thing you know I devoured it like a tall glass of water in the desert.
I loved all the characters. My favorite character was Clio. It was her point of view so it was hard not to like her. I feel so deeply connected to her and her story. I call her my Rebel Oracle. She will always hold a special place in my heart. She transformed over and over again. When we first met her she was young, naive dreamer who didn't have a care in the world. She then transformed in to a stone cold person trying not to let her feelings get in the way. She put everyone's needs in front of her own. Now she became perfectly balanced through some trials came to be one of the most amazing characters I have had the pleasure of reading.
Every single character was well done. Even the villains you love to hate. They are necessary and the perfect balance of evil. I just can't get over how much I enjoyed this series. It is unforgettable and amazing. The story line flows so organically it is astonishing. I hope this isn't the end we hear from these characters because I want and need more. I feel in love with everyone and not ready to say goodbye. This book had quite a few surprises that I did not see coming. They kept coming until the end. I loved it.
My favorite part was when Clio went back to the top of the pyramid. It seemed like a full circle. It was touching and when she went up there to once again fight a battle I started crying. I didn't finish crying until about an hour after I read the last page. It was perfect. I hope read about you again Clio because you changed my life forever.
The writing was just as good as it was in the previous book! Always a good thing. I feel like some authors get a little lazy after a few books in to their series.
We were also introduced to new characters, though we also lost a few. Nox....Nox I suspected you as soon as I started reading Divined. I was still upset by your betrayal but I still saw it coming. Shame. On. You. For doing that to Tirza!
It was action-packed like the rest of the books in the series, but the romantic spark between Riece and Clio wasn't as strong as the previous novels. There should have been more scenes between them or something because the spark wasn't as strong as it has been previously. It was very disappointing because half the reason I read the books was because their connection was just so....*sigh* fantastic.
Forsaken had more steamy moments between these two characters than this one. Like I said, disappointing, so therefore, I must chop a star in half as punishment to the author lol. I was, however, very glad that Riece finally proposed! It only took a few years and a few books, but he finally did it lol.
Overall, the action and plot were really good. I just wanted some steamy romance between Riece and Clio. There should have been more there, except, there was less than the previous books. I wanted more. I would have been happier with more scenes between them like in the first book, or even the second!
Sad to see the series end but I can't wait to see what Emily Wibberley comes up with next!
First if all, I must say I am a Christian an everything I read is weighed from that perspective. In a fantasy I can accept stories of false deities, and I appreciate that this story only has a small amount of sensuality. All in all it is pretty clean. The thing I dislike and must warn others like me of, is that I would not recommend this for a teenage girl. The idea that sex is okay before marriage, if you love someone, is not something I want to convey. I will say that this never happened until the last few chapters, but that disappointed me. The writer is talented..the characters believable, and it was a good read..but I probably won't read any more by this author. I try to read books with heroes with the values I would like my children to aspire to...and I would feel hypocritical to do otherwise. I want to be able to let my kids read the same books I do. Call me crazy..
At first I thought things were going completely off course and dragging, but the author does a good job of bringing everything together and hold your interest. I was very impressed with the storytelling and character build-up.
