When sheltered journalist Charlise “Charlie” Carter first met the brooding and enigmatic presidential hopeful Colin McKenna, it ignited a passionate affair that set both their lives racing in a new, yet terrifying direction. Hunted by her past, Charlie was forced to face her fears and the stalker who could have ruined the future she barely hoped to have. Determined to lay history to rest, she overcame those obstacles to claim her spot next to the influential man she loves.
Now, with the presidential campaign behind them, Colin and Charlie have it all—power, passion and a love so true nothing could come between them. With the grandeur of the wedding approaching, Charlie is swallowed by the enormity of becoming American royalty. She knows living in the White House with all its scrutiny won’t be easy, but she’s secure with herself and with Colin.
Just when everything settles into a new normal, and it appears nothing can eclipse their bond, the unthinkable happens. Colin’s worst nightmare is brought to life. He must race to save the one woman who brought order to his world and a happiness he never thought possible. With history seeming to repeat itself, Colin fights to hold them together and prepare for a new life that could possibly be the end of Charlie's. Midnight Sun is a story of redemption and a bond so strong it rises above pure evil.
Writer, wife, mother, and gummy bear lover. As a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance, Elizabeth Miller brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.
I'm so happy and pleased with Charlie and Colin's ending in Midnight Sun. I've been on a journey with both of them since Midnight and Midnight Sky. I would definitely recommend to read the two other books in the series. It's a must. There's so much story and knowledge to Charlie and Colin that comes to play in Midnight Sun.
I didn't know what to expect from this book but when I started reading the characters came back to me immediately. Their lives have changed drastically because of Colin's presidential election and especially Charlie was dealing with it and tried to find her place and time with her man, which she so desperately needed. I could easily see myself in Charlie's place and I understood her feelings. What surprised me was Colin. There were times when I thought his mind was only focused on work but he proved me wrong. In every sense of the word. He tried and wanted to come through for Charlie whenever and whichever way it was possible. He hated to disappoint her and it was the same for Charlie.
My mind was in turmoil when Charlie was put through a horrible trauma. I had no idea how Charlie and Colin would get through it but they did. Thanks to their all consuming and eternal love they had for one another cause their love truly was one of a kind. It was really difficult for me to witness the change in Charlie after the horrible trauma. She was such a different woman from what I was used to and knew. She's a very strong woman who'd been through hell in her teens. She's a survivor and she proved to be that again thanks to the support from Colin. How they both dealt with the trauma proved how strong and undying their love was. It also showed how far they'd go for their love. I was swooning big time over Colin. He was fighting for Charlie and did everything not to lose her. It was heartbreaking at times but Colin proved he was Charlie's man and fought for her and took his time to make her feel safe and secure around him. It was so heartbreakingly beautiful and romantic when they found their way back to each other and towards a new beginning.
“A blend of Heaven and Earth, she paints life with her own colors. She’s the midnight sun, twilight and dawn all at once, creating a day that is never-ending.”
Elizabeth Miller created a perfect ending but it was an emotional ride to go through. I've enjoyed and felt so much for Charlie and Colin but it was their love and acceptance of one another that pulled me towards them from the get go. Miller's writing was flawless and the pace of the story was spot on. The epilogue just sealed the deal for me and made me close the McKenna trilogy on a high.
“Mine. If possession is nine-tenths of the law then we're already committed, but I'd like to hear the words and have his signed consent just the same.”
“Faith's man holds her as if she's every baked good in the U.S. And Canada combined.”
“If I wasn't already taken I would lap the frosting off of him and call him cupcake.”
“I tucked trust in an envelope called my heart and gave it to you a long time ago. So we can fight, and feelings might get hurt, but I will always be yours and I will always come back to you.”
“Understanding the female mind should be a course taught in grade school right along with sex education.”
“Colin in a suit is mind-boggling, but his, this is dangerous to the female reproductive organs.”
My Review:
Midnight Sun was irresistible. The characters weren't just likable, they were lovable. The writing was divine, and the storyline was enthralling, highly addictive, and full of intrigue, plot twists, and surprises. Everyone wants to be loved with the depth and in the manner that this couple shares. Sooo sweeeet and deliciously sensual. I had a difficult time putting my kindle down as there just didn't seem to be a good place in the story to stop for those pesky things like sleep and meals. I adored this couple and this author. She has a fan-girl for life – I plan to stick to her like super glue.
Loved the series and I can't wait to read Kyle's story. I would also like to see if there are going t o be any story about Ali and Evan. I hope there is going to be.
Thank you Elizabeth for a wonderful and Amazing series. I personally lay lo ed every single page and words.
I read this book because I enjoyed the first 2 in the series and wanted to find out what happened. I didn't really enjoy the super quick ending of this book.
I'm not fond of books where the story line seems to wrap up very quickly. These types of endings make me think the author was on a time crunch and was churning something out.
I been wanted to read this book seen like forever. Finally, I said, " its time, didnt really have the money to spend, but I couldn't get this book, out of my mind. Knowing its the last one in the series, I had to have it." I'm so glad I did. I was shocked to who it was, now it all came together and it really did make a lot of sense. I was not disappoint in the book.. it was worth the 5 dollars. I couldn't put this book down. This series was FANTASTIC. You will want more after each Book, you will not want the book to end. This was a Good Ending to the series. Hope she writes a book about her sister Allie.
I finally finished the series (even Kyle's novella 'Only Tonight') and I couldn't be happier. The whole series was perfection. The love story, the HEA, the suspense, all the twist and turns. You WILL NOT be bored with this series. Elizabeth Miller is a fantastic author who knows how to balance spicy, suspense, romance, and sorrow and she proved it and gave it all to us in these books. My only issue with the series is that I didn't read it sooner. Bravo Elizabeth, you've done it again for me.
Omg! So many twists and turns this story had me reading at the edge of my seat! Having Colin’s side of it was awesome. Poor Charlie she sure goes through the wringer, but she’s strong and her husband is stronger, she gets through all the challenges that step into her path with Colin’s love and support.
This was a great series. I couldn't put them down. Charlie and Colin's story was sexy, exciting and moving. I didn't want the story to end. A Christmas about the McKenna's would be good! Keep writing.
I so enjoyed this series, it's a beautiful love story. And I very much appreciated the way the ending was written. Slightly spoilt by some obvious typos and misspellings but well worth a read.
This series took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. I love the series and I am sad this is the end of the series. I would love a follow-up to their story as well as to Ali and Evan's story. The whole series is now in my re-reads library.
Brilliant series well written and a great cast of characters and story line absolutely loved it I couldn't put them down hooked from the start brilliant
This was the perfect conclusion to Charlie and Colin's story! Conflicts come both internal to the marriage and from outside forces. Elizabeth Miller takes us inside the fairy tale ending of the election to see that all consuming love doesn't mean smooth sailing. Her characters are complex and she is a master at showing us their innermost thoughts while keeping us in the pace of the story. You actually feel like you are part of their relationship. The plot twists were clever and unexpected. I caught myself holding my breath at several junctures in the book. By the way- it was so engaging I read it in one sitting! When the worst happens, as a reader you are horrified, yet glued to the pages. It's hard to agree with some of the characters decisions yet you understand given their positions. I loved that after the "incident" there was no quick and happy wrap up to the conclusion. Miller digs in and takes us on a journey with Charlie dealing with the aftermath- and it's worth it. This was actually my favorite part of the book- how each character copes with what happens. In fact I guarantee that through it all you will fall in love with the characters all over again. The secondary characters are interesting and you want to know more about them. Without spoiling it, we see resolution to Kyle's novella and see inside his soul. Every character is intricate and they all play important parts in weaving the tapestry of the story. It's rare that an author so perfectly balances the sensuality, heat and suspense, but Miller does it. The book was everything I wanted it to be and then some. It left me very satisfied but wanting more because I loved the characters so much. The writing was descriptive, engaging and the editing was perfect. I can't wait to see what Elizabeth Miller brings us next. She will always be a must buy for me :)

The highly anticipated conclusion to The Midnight Chronicles is here!!! And I must say, it is the most perfect and beautiful ending this series could’ve gotten.
I have been on this incredible journey with Colin and Charlie since the very beginning. I have watched these characters grow both individually and together and I have loved every single minute of it.
Elizabeth has produced such a beautiful series that it’s hard not to fall in love with both the characters and the stories.
Colin and Charlie have overcome so many obstacles over the series but it’s not over yet. “What was a relationship begun in a rush of heated longing evolved into the steady beating of a strong heart.” And it did. They brought out the best in each other, grounded each other and were each other’s rock…and this is what is tested to its limit in the final book.
“Appearances are not as they seem.”
Can you really trust the ones who are meant to be there to protect you? Can love and light win over the fear and darkness in your mind?
Elizabeth is a promising author whose passion shows in her writing. You feel the love through its pages. And it’s that love, passion and devotion that makes this story, this series as perfect as it was.
No humanity isn't perfect. Yet there is the perfect person out there just for you. That is the message I took away after reading these books. Filled with secrets, imperfections, intrigue and yes, love. It held my attention from the first paragraph. I highly recommend it.
