A fast read. I liked all the characters so much that I wish it were longer or that they get a sequel novel. It's pretty steamy and eventhough we only see the world through one characters eyes we get a good feel for what's going on with everyone else too. Highly recommend.

The Journal of a Vicar’s Wife is the fifth and last novella in the Regency Diaries series. The series is a selection of five diary-styled novellas revealing the secret thoughts and desires of Ladies during the Regency era. Set in 1813, this is a stern and dispirited historical story about a harsh marriage. It’s the most severe of the novellas because of the deep unhappiness of the Heroine and the rigidity of her taciturn pious Vicar husband.
Look, this series tackles the sexual frustrations, yearnings, and discoveries of women in an era that is vastly different to how we live. The historical attitudes, dialogue, and expectations of the Regency era were conservative, proper, austere, parochial, and based on social class. This series reflects that well. It’s written from each Heroine’s POV and presented as entries of a diary, a very unique way of story-telling.

The Wicked Confessions of Lady Cecelia Stanton: 2 stars
The Private Affairs of Lady Jane Fielding: 4 stars
The Observations of a Curious Governess: 4- stars

I recommend this novella but it’s a stern, unforgiving read.

This was a very different Regency read, and I've got to say I didn't particularly like the husband, however, it really is a great story with a good amount of spice!

Awful
Sex in the guise of Christianity. Poorly written with scattered saintly spouting from the Bible in between sex scenes. Doesn’t make any reasonable sense.

It doesn't say much about the likeability of the "hero" when I am cheering on the heroine to cheat and hoping that no reconciliation happens. Blergh.
