Daughters of the Heart

God’s perfect plan is sometimes so hard to determine.
Gwendolyn, Cecelia, and the youngest, Bonnie, make a pact never to break their father’s heart like their big sister did. Then their determination is sorely tried when suitors show up, and he gets so pigheaded with his rules.
Will Henry survive his daughters coming of age? Will they endure and keep their promises to each other?
From one man asking to court her—who Daddy sends packing—Gwen goes to three! How can she ever decide? Cecelia knows exactly who she wants, but she’s still a year away from Daddy’s acceptable courting age. What if her beau doesn’t know or won’t wait? And Bonnie hates being the baby and wants to be grown-up more than just about anything…except her man. She is for sure and for certain in love.
In his life, Henry Buckmeyer has never been so beside himself. His little girls are so young, just babies, too young. He hates the whole idea of men coming to take them away and is inclined to shoot every one of them, but praise God for a level-headed, loving wife and step-mother! She helps keep him sane amidst the female chaos. Packed with fun, romance, deception, action, heartbreak and tears, this delightful Christian novel keeps the twists and turns coming.
Will the Buckmeyer home ever be settled and peaceful again? Will any of his daughters find true love…a man he'll approve and to whom he can give his blessing?

Born in California, Caryl McAdoo got to Texas in time to celebrate her first birthday. As a Dallas seventh grader, she remembers a homework essay on ‘What will you be doing in 2000?’ Looking into the future, she saw herself as an inter-galactically famous author, streaking from planet to planet signing books.

She laughs, “But I didn’t start writing again until the late ’80s, then was so blessed to find the DFW Writers’ Workshop in ’93.”

Her first book debuted ’99, then for the next nine years, she averaged a title a year from four traditional presses: two non-fiction, four novels, and three mid-grade chapter books.

In March 2014, her first historical Christian romance VOW UNBROKEN debuted from Howard Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

In April that year, she re-released LADY LUCK'S A LOSER (formerly The Apple Orchard Bed and Breakfast) with a new chapter. In September 2014 HEARTS STOLEN, book two in the Texas Romance Family Saga historical romance series, debuted as her first new Indie, and in November A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS, her first Biblical fiction series The Generations launched. So four titles in 2014.

Book three of the historical Family Saga HOPE REBORN debuted in January 2015 to start off a whole new year with eleven new titles planned. THE PREACHER'S FAITH comes in February, Caryl's first contemporary in Red River Romance series. THEN THE DELUGE COMES, volume two of The Generations, follows in March.

Since 2014, she's published over sixty new books, averaging over seven new titles a year through 2020. She completed the 'Texas Romance Family Saga' with a total of ten novels, plus several 'Texas Companion Books'!

Plus, she's eight books into a second series, the 'Cross Timbers Romance Family Saga' and debuts a third New Beginnings saga's book one WAGONS WEST in November 2022, her fifth book for the year.

Also known as Grami, she adores twenty-five grandsugars, and she and O’Pa—her high school sweetheart and husband of fifty+ years write together. She’s dedicated to advancing God’s Kingdom through her novels, praying her story gives God glory!

Caryl loves to share her testimony, pray, and praise and worship Him; He frequently gives her new songs.

She believes all good things are from Him and that her books will minister His love, mercy, and grace to her readers.

Irving, Texas remained her lifelong home until 2008 when she and Ron followed God’s leading to Red River County in the far northeast corner of the Lone Star State. There at The Peaceable, the twenty acres of blessings they call home, the McAdoos raise chickens and goats while waiting for God to open the next door!

The fifth book in the Texas Romance Series, Sons of the Mothers by Caryl McAdoo, is a delightful Christian, historical romance novel that continues the story along from one installation to another. However, I was disappointed in the extremely slow introduction and pace of this volume.

This is a definite life long struggle with the battle of wills between the father and daughters. Of course, the daughters think they know what is best for them and sometimes they are right. However, the father also believes he knows what is best for them and he is sometimes he right as well.

From one man asking to court her—who Daddy sends packing—Gwen goes to three! How can she ever decide? Cecelia knows exactly who she wants, but she’s still a year away from Daddy’s acceptable courting age. What if her beau doesn’t know or won’t wait? And Bonnie hates being the baby and wants to be grown-up more than just about anything…except for her man. She is for sure and for certain in love.

This is a Daddy's nightmare for sure. Daddy does his best to train, guide, and expect his rules to be followed by his lovely daughters. Unfortunately, teenagers feel like decisions must be made instantly to avoid losing what they hope to gain.

I really enjoyed how this installation was packed with fun, romance, deception, action, heartbreak and tears. The reader is kept guessing with this delightful Christian novel's twists and turns coming around corners without warning..

Will the Buckmeyer home ever be settled and peaceful again?

Will any of his daughters find true love…a man he'll approve and to whom he can give his blessing?

This is a Christian based story, clean and wholesome, and brings a H.E.A. Of course, this installation can stand on its own, but it is more beneficial if the reader completes the series in order to gain the most from the experience.

What to do with a house full of teenage girls, along with impressionable younger ones, especially in the 1850s Texas America? Do what Henry Buckmeyer, the patriarch of the Buckmeyers do in "Daughters of the Heart" by Caryl McAdoo. Ground them for life! No, I'm just kidding, but to Gwendolyn, Cecilia and Bonnie, that might as well be. Their father had imposed a strict no courting until your 18 rule, and then no marriage until he approves. Simple enough in our times, but back then, you're considered an old maid towards spinsterhood if you're 18 and not a beau in sight. So what will the girls do? They love their father, but can they endure this "beau - fast" with their ranging hormones?

"Daughters of the Heart" is the 5th book of the "Texas Romance" series by Ms. McAdoo. Don't worry, you can read it as a stand alone. I find the description interesting and I've looked forward to reading this, even though I've yet to read any of Ms. McAdoo's works, including the other "Texas Romance" novels. Unfortunately, this book falls short of my expectations. Trust me, I want to love this book. I want to find it so captivating that I can't wait to read all the other novels in the series. I mean what not to love? It has romance (several), beautiful girls, handsome boys, love triangles, adventure and an historical faith novel too! It has all the markings of a novel I would love. However, it is not the case. I find it lacking in depth and character development throughout the writing. It doesn't make sense to me how easily it was written for Cecelia to fall in love and the emotional indifference that I feel with Gwen. None of the beaus stuck out to me and that goes with majority of the characters as well. The "adventure" with the villain(s) also felt unrealistic, or rather it doesn't tie in well with how the plot moved along. I guess it just felt "choppy" to me with in-cohesiveness throughout.

One thing I did enjoy and had kept me reading is the familial relationship between Henry and his children, between him and May, his second wife and the sibling rivalries. You feel the love of Henry and the girls, and how every one of them is "Daddy's little girl". In that aspect, it was a redeeming factor for me.

A loving family, sisters trying to navigate adolescence and each other, more beaus than an ABC reality show ;), and a mild thread of suspense all combine to make up Daughters of the Heart – the fifth book in Caryl McAdoo’s popular Texas Romance series. Much like the Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke, the series follows one family – the Buckmeyers -from patriarch Henry’s marriage all the way until the current time frame where his daughters are ready to start courting. The family resides in Texas in the 1800s and this particular book covers 1853-1854. A prolific writer, Caryl McAdoo has several more books planned for the Buckmeyers, including a contemporary series focusing on their descendants.

I really liked the genuine love shared amongst the family. Father, stepmother, children, siblings, even the former slaves that live with them – they truly do care for each other with deep heartfelt affection. It’s refreshing to see that kind of love, especially from a father to his daughters – Henry is not afraid for them to know how much he cherishes them and wants to protect them… even if it does drive them a bit crazy at times lol.
Also, there were some well-written lines that made me chuckle or otherwise stuck out to me.

On the other hand, the characters seemed a bit… two-dimensional. I never really felt invested in anyone except maybe Elijah – I thought he had the most backstory-depth and motivations that made me care what happened to him.

Along the same theme, while the grammar and such was well-constructed, the story itself seemed quite cluttered and the writing often took a fanfictionish/stream-of-consciousness flow that left me feeling like we were jumping from one thought to the next right along with the author. If I could isolate individual paragraphs, etc., I would say this story was extremely well-written! But when I look at them altogether as a unit, the lack of structure (purpose might be a better word here) made it more difficult for me to stick with the story. At times, there was just simply too much going on – too many subplots and people to fit into one scene – and it was frustrating for me to follow which topic or character we had jumped back to for the moment. (Disclaimer: I have nothing against fanfiction – I used to write fanfiction and know of brilliantly talented fanfiction authors who need to be published. However, lots of people write fanfiction. Some of it is fantastic, some just good, some meh, and some terrible. This falls somewhere in between the middle two categories, to me.)

Bottom Line: Don’t let my dislike of the writing style keep you from reading the Texas Romance series. Based on all the 5-star reviews, plenty of people enjoy Ms. McAdoo’s books, and you may very well be another one! The sweetness of the family itself makes it worth a read. Yes, it felt like I was reading fanfiction sometimes, but I didn’t like The Book Thief or Twilight either. So, take my opinion for what it is – the preferences of one (admittedly well-read) avid reader among many and check out Daughters of the Heart for yourself! You may find your next favorite series!!

IF ONLY HE COULD HAVE KEPT THEM ALL BABIES
I love this series and enjoy revisiting the family of Henry Buckmeyer. So much has happened over the years, but now two of his daughters are coming of age, and when beaus start coming around, things get interesting. Gwendolyn is of age, but Cecelia is not, yet that doesn't stop her from falling in love and hoping Daddy will reconsider his strict ways and rules. It is never easy for a father to let go of his babies, no matter how old they are. So many emotions, so many confessions, these stories are honest and open with redemption found and forgiveness being offered. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning. The dialog is clean, open, honest, and emotional. The characters are enduring and entertaining at times. I would recommend reading this series in the order it was written to fully appreciate this family, their struggles, trials, love, compassion, heartaches and how they honor God in their lives and try to live for His glory.

This was a fun continuence in the series. After their older sister runs off to marry someone their father didn't approve of, Gwendolyn, CeCe and Bonnie agree to be true daughters and never go against their father in marriage or dating... even though there is no courting until they are 18. Three young men come into the picture and with them comes some drama, intrigue and suspense. It all shakes out well in the end though.

While you could read as a standalone, I believe it would make much more sense if you read the series in order. There are a lot of characters that carry over from book to book.

The narrator did a good job.

I listened to the audiobook of this book. The narrator makes the story come alive. I love this series. This is the fifth book of the series. Henry is just trying to survive his three daughters romances. His older daughter took off and married and he doesn't want his other three daughters to do the same thing. . He is being strict with Gwendolyn, Cecelia and Bonnie. Will he make it through all this craziness.

This fifth installment of the Texas Romance series focuses on the three youngest daughters. Henry Buckmeyer has his hands full with these mischievous daughters. Their shenanigans kept me turning the pages. Never a dull moment in the Buckmeyer household!

Recommend to readers who enjoy inspirational, historical family sagas.

I won a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

So much going on at once, and the dramatic teenage love troubles, left me both laughing a bit confused. I thought the narrator did fairly well, but when the slave girl's narration was the slave girl's voice, I just didn't understand that. Most of the characters had the same rise and fall even though the voices were different, it made them sound too similar.
I thought I had read or listened to the stories prior to this one in this series, but I still felt like I was missing some key components.

Caryl McAdoo's Daughters of the Heart

Historical family sagas, Caryl’s most popular SERIES,
undoubtedly’ll offer readers copious giggling and tearies!

Ms. McAdoo always delivers and I was quite entertained reading Daughters of the Heart.  I loved reading about this close family and the love they have for each other.  The father does everything he can to protect his family from harm and poor decisions.  He knows that at times his hands are tied and there is little he can do when his daughters have made up their minds.

This reminds me of Jesus and his love for us.  He wants to be close to us and protect us from harm.   But we are not always ready or willing to let him in.  Jesus is patient and ready when we are.

I haven't read any of her other books in this SERIES but I am eager to venture further as I enjoyed every minute.  I bet the youngest daughter, Bonnie, will give her parents an adventure!!!

I received this free to review.

"Daughters Of The Heart"by Carl McAddo had been on my wanting to read list long before it was released, even before I knew there was going to be a fifth book in the "Texas Romance Series". I know that sounds crazy and how can that be, well, you see I read the first book "Vow Unbroken" and thought I want to read more about this family and after reading "Daughters Of the Heart" I am still saying I want to read more!

Each book in the series has been better than the last except "Daughters of the Heart". I liked this book but I really have to be honest and say it wasn't my favorite, I felt it didn't have the excitement in between the pages that the other 4 books did, but yes I still recommend this book. " Daughters Of The Heart" can be a stand alone but I am glad I have read them all.

Henry Buckmeyer has his hands filled with three daughters who wants to be in love. The only problem is that Henry wants to keep his daughters at home and doesn't want them to grow up. The story line was great but I thought the writing wasn't well planned out and there was a lot of mistakes in the story, like misplaced words and sentences that didn't read well. I think the ending was better than the first, as it is a cliff hanger, so yes, there is going to be more books in the series.

I know that in fiction, the characters meet and fall in love immediately but in "Daughters of the Heart" it didn't feel "real". Yes, I know fiction isn't real but when I read, I want the story to make me feel like it is. The romance of Cecelia, is just a little to fake for me.

The danger that Gwendolyn puts her family is more believable and that is what makes me give this book a three star rating!

Yes, even though "Daughters Of the Heart" is not my favorite, I can still recommend the series because as a whole I give this series Five stars times two. I am eagerly awaiting the other books that are coming!

Read this series in order (THREE AND A HALF STARS)

I had seen this author's books promoted on some of the Christian reading groups I follow. Somehow I got the impression it was a YA series but was apparently mistaken about that. Not sure where I got that impression. I love the characters that she has created. Every single one has a very distinct personality and it is evident that over the series she has spent a lot of time with these families and has developed their personalities so very well. That is an important quality in a series of several books. The protagonists are likeable and the villains are unlikable. The historical aspect was very well done and I felt I was in 1800s Texas.
I'm not sure why I decided to start with the fifth book in the series. I wasn't sure if you could read them out of order or not. The first half of the book didn't feel like I needed to know much about the past books, but by the second half of the book it was clear that if I hadn't read the other books in the series, I was going to be a little lost. That's ok. Series are meant to be just that, building from the story before.
I would recommend this for adults and not young people. I was surprised by one word choice in the book. It was a villain that said it, but I really wished the author wouldn't have had him say it. For Christian fiction, that was a surprise to me.
I'll be interested in reading this series from the beginning and learning the backgrounds of these delightful characters.

Daughter's Of The Heart by Caryl McAdoo is the fifth book in the Texas Romance series, and I was blessed to receive a copy. It was wonderful to catch up with the Buckmeyer family again, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel.
Once again Caryl McAdoo has written a riveting novel set in Texas in the 1850's. The family very much revolves around Henry Buckmeyer as the head of the household. He is a God fearing man with high moral standards. His word is law, much to the disappointment of his daughters.
Gwendolyne and Cecilia both have beau's but they need their father Henry's approval. They enlist the help of stepmother May to try to bring their father round to their way of thinking.
The course of true love does not run smoothly. Within the novel there are love triangles, misunderstandings, rivalry and revenge. Over it all stands Henry Buckmeyer, who acts as he feels fit.
Within the novel the Christian gift of hospitality is practised. Whoever turns up on the Buckmeyer's door is guaranteed bed and board if needed.
Henry Buckmeyer once again stands up for the plight of the negro in 1850's America. This does not always make him popular, but he stands firm in his beliefs for equality.
Once I picked up Daughter's Of The Heart I could not put it down, and read it within twenty four hours. The book may have ended, but the saga continues. I eagerly await the next book in the series.

Daughters of the Heart is book 5 in the Texas Romance series by Caryl McAdoo and the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms. McAdoo. Daughters of the Heart is a book that once you start, you will not be able to put down until your finished. Henry Buckmeyer has three beautiful daughters at home, and he doesn’t like the idea of any man coming to take them away from him. If it was up to him, Henry would shoot every suitor that came to the door, but he is thankful for a loving wife to him and loving stepmother to the girls.

Gwendolyn, Cecelia and the baby, Bonnie, make a pact to never break their father’s heart and they intend on keeping this pact. When the courting starts, will they be able to keep the promise they made never to hurt their father. Life is full of choices, heartaches, and love but how we choose to live our life and make those decisions is what will affect us the rest of our lives.

God’s perfect plan is so hard to determine and so hard to live out. Will Henry’s daughters keep their promise? Will they all fall in love? You need to pick up a copy today to find out!! I really enjoyed reading Daughters of the Heart and highly recommend it to all Christian Fiction lovers.

Thank you to Celebrate Lit for providing me copy of this book for my honest review!

I loved this story by Caryl McAdoo. It is book 5 in the Texas Romance series. You don't have to read the books in order, but it helps to know the backgrounds of the characters. Cecilia, Gwendolyn, and Bonnie have vowed not to break their father's heart like their older sister did when she ran off and got married. Anybody that even thinks of dating his daughters, their father will shoot. But can Henry Buckmeyer go against his daughters' wishes when they find their one true loves and wish to marry before they turn 18?

Cecilia meets a man and wants to spend her future with him. But he's leaving Texas and going to California. How can they stand being apart? Gwendolyn's suitor has been run off by her father, but he comes back for her. Another man shows up and Gwendolyn can't decide which one she likes better. Cecilia and Gwendolyn must decide if they can trust their hearts or if one of their beaus is a fraud.

This is a great story filled with engaging characters, descriptive settings, and a flowing story line. I didn't want the story to end. What do you do when your past catches up to you and your future is closer than you want? Step into Henry's shoes and see how he handles his past and the changing future.

I thoroughly enjoyed Daughters of the Heart by Caryl McAdoo. She has a way of writing that feels authentic and reflects her love of the Lord. I loved the quirky sayings she included and the added humor made the book light-hearted and fun.

There were several characters in Daughters of the Heart, but the storyline was easy to follow. The characters are well written and had depth. There was tension, love, heartache, and the conflict of honoring your parents while staying true to yourself.

I loved following the drama of the Buckmeyer sisters. It kept my attention throughout because I wanted to see what the girls did and if their father finally approved of a suitor. Having teenagers myself, I could relate to the Buckmeyer parents. However, at times I also felt bad for the girls. Loving and being frustrated with characters make for a good story! Caryl did not disappoint!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. If you love historical romance that is God centered, you won’t want to miss this book!

Thank you to Celebrate Lit (celebratelit.com) and Caryl McAdoo for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. No monetary compensation was received and all opinions expressed are my own.

Daughters of The Heart ( Texas Romance - Book 5 )
By: Caryl McAdoo

Daughters of The Heart is book five in Texas Romance Series. I really enjoyed reading this story and the characters. McAdoo has written a story that will tickle you and have you laughing throughout the story. I love reading about the Buckmeyer family . The three daughters , Gwendolyn , Cecelia, and Bonnie, all three are trying to change their daddy’s mind about courting and marriage age for them all. Their oldest sister ran away and she broke her daddy’s heart. They vowed to not do that to their daddy. Now all of them don't want to break his heart, but they do want to get him to change his mind on the courting and marriage age. When three suitors come visiting what will their daddy do, shoot them on the spot if they even look at one of his daughters? Will he send them packing? Gwen is the oldest and she feels like she should be the first to get married, will she? What about Bonnie is she to young to be thinking about courting and marriage? I really loved this book and the series.

Oh my word! Talk about a book that opens up with some laughs and then takes you for a jaunt and a skip through western town. Daughters of the Heart is such a fun read that I opened it for a quick peek and ended up reading half of it! The writing style was a little different but I have read one of Caryl's previous books so I knew her writing. Sometimes conversations can get confusing over who is talking, etc. But I really enjoy a book that teaches and instructs while making no qualms over having a good laugh.

This one here deals with 3 sisters who are a real hoot! One is just breaking up with a man, one a year young to court and one far too young to be thinking about men. But they all get in over their heads with gentlemen coming to court and the father has no idea what to do with them all! The step-mother is so sweet and I love the way she deals with the girls. And the guys coming calling? They are quite interesting as well. If you enjoy a good historical that isn't dry and stuffy, you will enjoy this one! I sure did!

I wanted so badly to like this book, but it just wasn't for me. After reading the description of this book, I thought I was going to love it. The plot didn't hold my attention. It was choppy and lacked in focus. There were some good points to the book. I loved how the family functioned as a whole. I loved Henry's love for his daughters and his wife and his protectiveness of all of them. The sibling rivalry was entertaining. Other than that, I didn't feel any real connection to any of the characters. There was no depth or growth. There were also a couple parts towards the end of the book that shocked me to even be mentioned in a Christian novel. Overall, as much as I wanted to enjoy this book, it fell short of my expectations.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review, which I have given.*

Full adventure, mischief, and romance, author Caryl McAdoo has written an entertaining and enjoyable historical fiction, romance novel that readers will love. Getting to know the Buckmeyer sisters, Gwendolyn, Cecelia, and Bonnie, is quite the venture, as each sister has her own story. Although readers may not get especially attached to the characters and their relationships with one another, this story is still fun and will touch your heart. I would recommend this novel to readers that are ready for a historical fiction, Texas-romance adventure novel.

Daughters Of The Heart was the first book I have read by Caryl McAdoo. I did not realize that it was book 5 until I was into the book. While I did enjoy the laughter and joy of an over-protective dad and his teenage daughters, the book would have made more sense had I read the first four.
That being said, I liked the story well enough that I am going to go back and read the first four. The family is totally charming, and well armed :)
I find myself wanting to know how they arrived at this point in their lives. The characters are well written and I find myself wondering what they are up to when I have closed my kindle for the evening. it is truly the sign of a good book that you long for more.
I was given this book for review by celebrate lit.All thoughts and opinions are my own and I was not required to express any opinion.

This fun packed Christian romance novel has plenty of action, heartbreak, tears, deception, twists, and turns. Henry's daughters, Gwendolyn and Cecelia are coming of age. His oldest daughter, Mary, had broken his heart when she eloped. Therefore they along with their younger sister, Bonnie, made a pact never to break their father’s heart like their big sister had, but when suitors show up, it's hard for them to stay determined to keep their promises to each other. Will they ever know God's will for their life? Will they find true love? Will Dad accept a suitor for them and give his blessings? Their loving stepmom helps them by helping their dad to see they are growing up, and he can't hold them back. Will they realize that stepmom, May, loves them as daughters of her heart?

Caryl has done it again. I loved this book. This is the 5th book in the Texas Romance Series and although it can be read as a standalone, reading the prior books in the series does give the background and history of the characters. I thoroughly enjoy picking up with the characters from the prior stories and seeing what is happening in the Buckmeyer family. This book focuses on the daughters of Henry and I loved following their story and the conflict between daughters and Henry as they seek to make their own way in live and love. I was given an a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and this is another one that I definitely recommend to readers who enjoy early Texas historical fiction.

This is my first book to read by Author Caryl McAdoo. Daughters of the Heart did not disappoint me, it was a fantastic book to read. The author caught my interest at the beginning of the book. The novel was fun to read and I enjoyed the twists and turns that kept me intrigued through the whole book. Daughters of the Heart is Book Five in the Historical Christian Texas Romance and I believe I would read the first four books to cover the background, plus gives a fascinating history. I did not have any problems reading Daughters of the Heart as a stand alone novel. Now, I have a new author to read in Caryl McAdoo and I recommend reading Daughters of the Heart.

I received a complimentary copy from Celebrate Lit in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

I enjoyed reading this Christian romance, Daughters of the Heart! In this book I was able to revisit the Buckmeyer family, that I fell in love with from the Texas Romance series. Henry's younger daughters are growing up. They saw how hurt their father was when their older sister ran away. They vow to never do that to him, but 3 young men show up at the farm. Will they keep their vow? Will Henry Buckmeyer(an overprotective father)have to kill any young men and feed them to the hogs for hurting his daughters? The characters are funny and I love how Caryl McAdoo writes from the heart of each person. The Buckmeyer family is flawed, lovable and Henry Buckmeyer has his hands full!

I liked Ms. McAdoo's Daughters of the Heart. Although, I was a little confused because it's book five in the series, it wasn't so confusing that it can't be read alone. But if you're like me, start with book one.
This story starts with Gwendolyn and Cecelia make a pact to not break their father's heart by running off and eloping like their oldest sister do. Of course, as soon as that happens, they have suitors who make them regret their pact.
This book is filled with twist and turns, laughter and tears, and of course, romance.

This was a wonderful western romance. I really loved the Buckmeyer family. This makes me want to read the first 4 books in the series. This one pretty much stands alone but the tidbits about the rest of the family from previous books makes you want to read them all. Should Henry(the father) allow his two older daughters that are at home to date the men that they like. This whole family is funny and wonderful. I really look forward to the next book to find out what happens to all the rest of the family. I received this book for a fair and honest opinion from the author.
