Vows of Deception: Something old, new, borrowed, & BLUE...

Rate this book
Danielle and Lamont Graves have a wonderful marriage to outsiders. He is very attentive, loving, and affectionate towards his wife of five years. Having met their senior year of college the two have been through it all together. While Danielle started her career as a psycho-therapist directly after graduating, Lamont had to start from the bottom working his way to the top. In the beginning things were tight, finances were few but with the love they had for one another, it made it all worth it. An anonymous message leads Danielle on a wild goose chase resulting in her finding out about her dear husband's constant infidelity. Instead of denying his wrong-doings, Lamont admitted he has cheated for two years out of the five they've been married. In his mind the logical excuse was he was bored and frankly wasn't attracted to his wife anymore. With the weight of the world and a failed marriage, Danielle has a drunken night drowning her sorrows. Heartbroken, devastated, lacking self-esteem, and loaded with negative debt Danielle has to pick up the pieces of her crumbled life. Assuming things couldn't possibly get any worst, she was dealt the deadliest blow of them all. To stay above water with the countless credit card bills, foreclosed home, and repossessed cars holding her credit hostage Danielle is forced to take on a part-time job. Chance meetings, a knight without the armor, and apparent foes within her circle will make themselves visible. Will Danielle get over huge betrayals or will she allow bitterness to consume her rational mind? Can she allow love to live within her ever again?

Everyone thinks that Danielle and Lamont Graves have a wonderful marriage. Lamont is very attentive, loving, and affectionate towards his wife.

An anonymous message leads Danielle on a wild goose chase resulting in her finding out about her husband’s infidelity. Instead of denying Lamont admitted he has cheated for two years out of the five years of their marriage. In his mind the logical excuse was he was bored and frankly wasn’t attracted to his wife anymore.

With a failed marriage, Danielle has a drunken night drowning her sorrows and to make matters worse what Lamont does leaves Danielle into
picking up the pieces of her crumbled life.

Vows of Deception captured me from the very beginning. There was heartbreak, deceit, disloyalty, indecisiveness, pain , friendship, love, forgiveness, and triumph all in one. This books gives you everything. . Sometimes you have to get knocked down to get back up.

I love the strength and courage the author gave to Danielle.

The characters and storyline is good.

Thank you to the author for a wonderful story.

I actually REALLY enjoyed this book. I went in with zero expectations and ended up surprised... guess I was in the mood for some assholeness and a knight... well just a man at the right place at the right time. I promise the universe was rooting for these two!

Deplorable cheating Pig and his lowly harem suffer just rewards in the end!

This well conceived ,well written tale takes us on a gut wrenching convoluted journey ,that as luck (and Marcus) would have it,ends with karma outwitting an ultimate sleeze ball as well as resulting in a well deserved HEA and win for the h . Thank the lord ,as I have yet to encounter are more narcissistic, foul, cheating pig in a contemporary romance that wasn't technically under the dark umbrella. These characters are admirably fleshed out and memorable.Dannie exhibits a spectrum of traits to which we can relate, especially those which were manipulated ,molded and exacerbated by predator Lamont for his express devious purposes. It is the true H ,white knight and savior ,Marcus that will hone in on ,fortify and complement her strengths, confidence and inner beauty. I am grateful for the author 's uncanny ability to alleviate what otherwise would be overwhelming emotional weight and baggage through use of supporting characters and timely sarcastic wit .Kudos to the author for granting what overall ends up a lovely surprise given all we must suffer via the hills and valleys of this ,eventfull rollercoaster of a journey.I certainly look forward to experiencing more from Ms Harris and plan to champion her during my interactions in book clubs and on social media sites. I only hope I can do her justice and sing her praises as deserved!xx

Vows are meant to be cherished

I am never disappointed in book that I purchased from you. It is a sad and true story that often time woman loose themselves and allow men to control and change them because of loyalty and love. I am that Dannie saw past it all n realized her worth.. Mark was really a knight. I was hoping for more on his and Theresa relationship but then again it was about vows of deceit.

What a ride!

This was a very interesting story. Both the characters and storyline were well-developed. Danni frustrated me at times and Mark was just what the doctor ordered. The love scenes were super steamy! I need a Mark in my life right now...lol This was the first time I have read anything by this author but I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

Good Story

This was a good story with plenty of drama. Danielle, the leading lady, really worked my nerves. Her husband was a manipulating, controlling, arrogant cheater and Danielle beat herself up taking the blame for all he did wrong. Apparently he had zapped all of her self esteem because she didn't realize that she ccx was just her puppet.
4 stars for the story and 2 stars for editing.

This is redemption at it’s finest 🙂. Danielle goes through it and she is my Shero because of it. Her rollercoaster ride is a journey that is a treat for the senses.

Everything about this story is spine tingling and the supporting cast is worth all of your time. Sit back relax and enjoy.
