Okay, so I bought this book online, thinking it would be about 200 pages of truly interesting prose and poetry and full of the symbol of knots which I'm very interested in. However, It is a very short chapbook and the writer's work seems to be in very early stages. But I did admire that it was a whole book and so beautifully made. I wonder if it is unusual that half the book is a collection of poems that tell a short fantastical story that involve the love between a mermaid and a man. They bear a child together. What I think is unusual is that each very short poem is told in the perspective of either the man or the woman. It's almost like reading the notes to a novel which takes place in a fantasy medieval world of ships and sea. I kind of like it. I wonder what this writer will do next? Poetry or prose?
