Eastern Crags: Volume 3

Rate this book
This is the definitive guidebook to the Eastern Fells and crags of the Lake District. The guidebook covers the area from Kendal in the South, running up Thirlmere to Keswick and Carrock Fell in the North; and then to Penrith and Shap in the Far Eastern Fells. This area is home to some fantastic trad crags such Castle Rock, The Raven Crags of both Thirlmere and Threshthwaite Cove, Iron Crag, Dove Crag and secluded Gouther Crag in Swindale. The popular bouldering areas of Kentmere and Carrock Fell are also briefly covered. The guidebook describes a wide range of routes and grades to suit all requirements, with all the routes shown on colour photo topos. The guidebook was published in July 2011 by the Fell and Rock Climbing Club (FRCC). There are many fantastic action shots throughout, and in addition there are sections on just about everything a climber might find useful in a guidebook, from a list of Climbing Walls for a wet day, to a comprehensive History and First Ascents List. Number of pages is 486.
