MY REVIEW:

This book is a beautiful 100 day journey through the book of Colossians. It can be used as a devotional, a commentary, or just a short and easy to read chapter book. I enjoyed the in-depth and practical application that each chapter brought to my attention. The Hope of Glory is sound Biblically, challenging to your thinking, connects grace to everyday life, and is easy to digest due to it's short, 2 to 3 page chapters. I highly recommend this book as an addition to your library.

Wonderful meditations on this letter that drips with the praise and sufficiency of Jesus. Storms does a great job interacting with the difficult (and sometimes scholarly) questions the text raises, but he never neglects the application Paul and the Holy Spirit mean to effect on us. Storms comes across as an author with a zeal for the glory of Christ and a heart for the spiritual health of the reader. He does a great job pulling from other sources--most notably Peter O'Brien's commmentary and John Piper's sermons on the letter--and is sure to present multiple perspectives in parts of the letter that are ambiguous to modern-day readers.

I felt equipped to intellectually understand Paul's argument and spurred on to live out his vision of a life of praise and thanksgiving to Jesus.

I read this devotional along with my study of Colossians in the original language. It was enjoyable to have such a deep devotional to go alongside my reading and study.

In fact, this is absolutely the best devotional based on a book I have ever read. Storms does a fantastic job of not only talking about the text of Colossians but of relating it devotional he and applying it to daily life.

Going deep is never a bad thing. This devotional delivers on the depth and breadth of Scripture as the author adeptly discusses Colossians and gives you a deeper appreciation for the book.

I highly recommend this devotional on Colossians, especially if you are studying the book in depth. He will aid your deep study and bring you to a deeper appreciation for Colossians and all of Scripture.

Solid collection of 100 short (3-4 page) devotionals from the book of Colossians. But it is so much more than that, this reads like a layperson commentary, but in a devotional formate! Very very good!

This was a treasure to walk so intentionally through Colossians devotionally. Storms is at his best when exegeting scripture so directly and practically. Truly valued the depth, but the approach and tone as well.

This book is part devotional and part Bible study. Each of the 100 meditations focuses on a verse or so from Colossians, and the same verse may be addressed in several consecutive meditations. I marked a number of sentences that particularly spoke to me as I read this as part of my Lenten devotions.
