Beachy, heartwarming and inspirational, Laurie Larsen's love stories contain a bit of faith in addition to the Happily Ever After. Her beloved Pawleys Island Paradise series gained fans, not only because of the stories and unforgettable characters, but the "arrogantly shabby" real-life island setting.
A multi-award winning author, she's won the EPIC Award for Best Spiritual Romance, the Illumination Book Award for Inspirational Romance Fiction and the eLit Award for Religious Fiction.
Laurie began her writing career back when she was juggling a challenging day job in Information Technology Management. Bewildered as to how an English major who loved to read discovered herself in a highly technical career path, writing became her creative release. Because "all good things come to those that wait," her reward finally arrived: retiring from the day job, moving to the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry and writing novels full-time; at least, in between lathering on the sunscreen, walking the beach, and entertaining her feisty rescue pup, Weezer.
A member of Romance Writers of America for fifteen years, now, she's the President of an American Christian Fiction Writers chapter. She's lived her own Happily Ever After for over thirty years.
This is Jasmine and Dax's story. As Jasmine is about to graduate college she goes to her favorite masseuse and discovers she isn't there. Dax will be her masseuse and she wasn't sure she could do it because she had never had anyone but women do it. But she lets him do it and as she is leaving she gets hit by a bike. Dax rides to the hospital with her. Jasmine is starting out her life as an adult and Dax is starting out his life as a Christian so together they learn. You can see God working in their lives, teaching them, helping to mold them into the people they are meant to become. Jasmine learns that as an adult things aren't just handed to her, there are steps she must take to make things happen. Dax is also learning about life, a life that has God in it. As Jasmine said, she may have been a Christian a lot longer, she is and can learn a lot from Dax. God knew what he was doing when He brought them together. This book like the ones before isn't God front and center. These books are God letting people live their lives and He is quietly watching over them. You can feel Him there. Dax told Jasmine when she was looking for a career, what do you think would happen if you asked God to guide you so they pray. Both asking Him to guide them and He does. This is another wonderful story and I am now reading the next one.
Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I had read only one of the three earlier books, and I don't feel that I missed anything in this one by not having read all the ones before. I appreciate that the characters asked God for guidance and practiced their faith in daily life.
Although Jasmine and Dax vowed to remain pure, their definition of purity may not be the same as many Christians. They were intimate to the point of sleeping together, but they didn't cross the line to sexual intercourse. Many Christians would draw the line on premarital intimacy somewhere before that. There is no explicit language, though.
Bridge to Fruition by Laurie Larsen is the book in the Pawley's Island Paradise series. This is a standalone but we are updated on main characters from the series. I loved the main characters and their faith. Thanks for another book in a wonderful series.
It's amazing how fast I am blowing through this series. I really enjoyed this one about jasmine. I enjoyed reading about the other characters from the past as well. I definitely recommend this one if you have read the others.
Another awesome tale in the Pawleys Island Romance series. I like getting updates on characters from the previous stories. All Laurie Larsen's characters are very personable. These are wonderful Christian romances.
