The “Single Wide Female” books are written for every woman out there who has struggled with their weight, self-esteem and any number of issues that we all face as we work to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be.
They are meant to be light-hearted and fun, but I do hope that they will inspire you to live your life to the fullest, loving yourself completely as you do so.
I have to tell you: I was prepared to hate this series. Too cutsie and cliched, I assumed. Well, I was wrong. Any woman who's struggled with weight, semi-image, self-confidence, or emotional ups-and-downs will recognize Sammy. Correction, we ARE Sammy! I'm looking forward to more of her adventures!
I love these books or short stories which ever you prefer to call them. The stories are about a woman named Sammy who is learning to love herself and be more confident in her mind, body, and soul. For me these stories had a big impact not because I'm a big girl looking for confidence but because it was a good reminder that you're never to old to make changes in your life. It's never too late to chase your dreams or find your passion. That's what I feel Sammy's bucket list is about. The book is about finding yourself when you don't know who you are yet and you have to go out of your comfort zone to find that. I feel like the author did a great job making Sammy relatable to any woman. I loved the humor and the adorable relationship she has with her best friend Max. It's a good series that I'd recommend to anyone.
The series was really good because it relates to women who have problems with weight, self-esteem, confidence, etc. It may have gone a little overboard with Sammy's clumsiness and things that happened to her sometimes but it added humor to the stories!! 😂
I figured out more than halfway through the series who's in love with who, 💟💟 so that kind of drags on. Now I have to get the next series if I want to see them get together! I also think I know who Blu is but I could be wrong. 😉
I really enjoyed the series and recommend it to anyone who may have some issues with their weight, self esteem, etc or anyone who just enjoys a good read! I started these at a time when I had decided to accept the fact losing weight, yet again, doesn't seem like it will happen & it might not, but relating to Sammy has helped!! 🙌🙌
The content of these books were okay, but there was a lot of contradictions. For example one of the bucket list items was learn to swim, however quite a ways earlier another item on the list was skinny dipping, so obviously she knew how to swim. There were other inconsistencies throughout that were quite annoying.
I cringed the entire time I was reading this book/collection of short stories. Amazon kept advertising this book, and I finally gave in and downloaded the .mobi for free. Thankfully I didn't pay for this garbage.
At one point Samantha is on her cell phone and the person hangs up. Samantha just sits there in shock listening to the dial tone. I would similarly sit there in shock listening to the dial tone, because cell phones don't have a dial tone. I assume it's just undiagnosed tinnitus. There are dozens of major editing errors like this throughout the book.
Eventually the book becomes incredibly meta, as the main character struggles to write and publish a book about someone cooler than herself. I have a strong feeling that the awful main character in this book is who the author wishes she could be. Either that or a man wrote this book and just threw together every "big girl" cliche that he could think of in an attempt to sell copies of this shitty book to fat women under the pretense of it being relatable.
Horrible, but exactly what I wanted. I just finished an amazing Urban Fantasy series and I needed a really poorly written but readable book as a mental pallet cleanser. Any book that I read now is going to be amazing after reading this dumpster fire of a novel.
This bundle of ebooks was touted as 24 books. But they are really more like novellas or short stories. Samantha's clumsiness and obsession with Max quickly get pretty tiring. And the author either didn't research many things very well or has chosen to deliberately ignore some realities. For example, it's doubtful an overweight person whose never been a runner is going to be able to complete a marathon after training for only one month. Because the "books" are pretty "fluffy", I eventually got the impression the targeted audience may have been young teen girls and or chicklets??? But I did stilll find them interesting LIGHT reading in a "light soap opera" kind of way. When I finished the 24th one, I have to admit I then downloaded the next series of four ("Single Wide Female in Love").
Meet Samantha, a 30-something, single woman with a weight problem. After losing so much weight, she is more determined to complete her bucket list. This box set features 24 novellas, one for each item on her bucket list.
Readers will admire Sam’s will to find her confidence and enjoy her life. Her journey will inspire anyone to start their own bucket list. Filled with wild, zany scenarios that could only happen to klutzy Sam.
You’ll love Samantha and her adventurous journey. These shorts stories are easy to read and quick to get through. It’s much better to get the whole bundle.
Single wide female:the bucket list mega bundle -24/l. Blake
The character in this book Sammy who challenge herself in making a bucket list can relate to every woman fear ,self confidence, self worth. The challenges she put herself through to achieve her self worth, fears, weight loss and secret love are very inspiring, you can really relate to her, what more can I say except the story is humorous, inspiring I couldn't put the book down read all 24 series.
Liked the idea but execution was lacking. I had hoped for a funny strong women who learned to love her body and size but found only a by the numbers romance with the lead following her love throughout her bucket list of things to do. Every chapter and new adventure seemed to take a backseat to Max. What a shame, this had so much potential.
This book started out wonderful I thought I would really like it but halfway through the book it's the same old thing over and over again she needed to pick it up and start growing as a person instead of just repeating the same mistakes
I really enjoyed this book! I would like to think that the main character Samantha and I have a lot in common, but in reality she taught me a while lot more! I have to get the rest of the SWF books!
Thank you for these amazing 24 books about Samantha and her bucket list. I laughed so much that I had tears coming down my cheeks. I look forward to reading more of your work.
I plowed thru all 24 booklets in this series only to find out there is no ending. Just buy another book or whatever. I hate that. This was not all that interesting and I skimmed a lot. I am angry! Do not get snickered into reading this series!
Fun, quirky stories, though "book" is a bit of a stretch. Novellas, not novels. The entire collection reads like a book following a few months in the character's journey. Each Novella can be read as a stand alone though.
Sometime fun. Sometimes trite. Sometimes empowering. Sometimes dissatisfying. Overall, it was a well written series with no end in sight, and come on…24 episodes and still no closure? Buy another book to see what happens next? No thank you. I’m out.
I found this series of books to be pretty repetitive and predictable by the end. It wasn't a bad story to read, it just didn't read the way I wanted it to.
I don't think I have ever been so engrossed in someone's journey such as I have been with Samantha's! This book is incredibly inspiring as well as quite funny and torturous when in relation to a certain best friend. ;) I am so enthralled that I cannot wait to join Sammy on many more adventures.
I truly enjoyed these short stories I can totally identify with many of the issues Samantha faces. The author does a phenomenal job of bringing humor to the story as well ad helping Samantha and me see that life is much ore fun when you live it
