Releasing Her Dragon by Elianne Adams - To be a she-dragon shifter, to find your mate only to have him not acknowledge your presence, to leave with a human female, to make her think you do not want her? To not tell her you do or do not desire her, but to hide from her is cowardice. What happens when he says job be Damned and whisky her off? Talk about one check at erotic escapades in his cabin in the woods. Whew! Man, I have never read a breakfast scene that felt so erotic to me like their first breakfast together. What happens when the woman he is supposed to be protecting disappears? What he finds out is not good. How do their lives change when she finds out who they others in his clan are and they are mated?
Dragon Reborn by L. C. Alleyne - Balthazar is a dragon shifter in trouble. What happened to put him into that trouble? Eva is an archeologist with a discovery that interests Balthazar. What does she find out about him when she has to stay under his protection when an attack is made on her life? Ti, the oldest, Bal, the middle, and Lan, the youngest, of the dragon siblings are dragon shifters. Ti and Bal fought over 100 years ago and Ti took Bal's scale. This has kept his dragon trapped in human form and now he battles for control against the dragon shifter. What can Eva do to help him, truly? She wants to, but can she? What happens when Eva goes into the city to look over the treasures they found at the archeology did she and her father were doing? Does she get the artifacts she's interested in out of the museum? If so, are they helpful or not? do they end up finding Bal's missing scale? What happens to Ti? To Lan? To Bal? Read and find out. You'll be quite amazed.
The Dragon's Stolen Bride by Sadie Haller - Freya and Graeme are sweethearts, they have one day of passion, and then she's taken away from him, only to be found not a virgin anymore. Rumors have it that he needs to take a virgin maiden to help him change back from being a dragon. The dragon is enraged when he finds her in a family way. He does however, allow her to keep her child. What happens after 6 years of captivity? Does she make it to freedom from Mr. Pendragon? Does she make it back to Graeme's home and life? What happens to her child? What does the ghost Eadlin have to do for Mr. Pendragon in order for Freya and her child to go free?
Ice by Skye Jones - Ice is an MMA fighter who does not know anything about what she is. Nathan meets her after a friend, Daniel, wants to talk to the person she was fighting against in the ring, The Shredder. They get invited out the next night with her and Ice and some other fighters. Sian goes back to the hotel with Ice, Nathan and Dominic, but then gets a text and has to leave. What happens after Sian leaves? What happens the next morning? Does Ice ever figure out what she is? If she does, what happens? Nathan and Dominic are a bonded male pair looking for their female mate. Does she accept this? What happens with Ice when Nathan and Daniel take her back to their home? Nathan is the leader of the Scottish Dragon Clan. Do the other dragon shifters in their Clan accept her? Does she come to accept what they are and she is and does she stay or leave? I can almost literally feel Ice's fear that she is feeling with the words the author uses when she finds out that Dragons are REAL and that the saddle is brought out and put on their Clan's Leader for her to ride in the sky. My heart stutters and beats faster. Read and find out more of what happens.
Forged in Fire by Zara Keane - We're looking into the future, 2158, and a dragon shifter is needing to gather help to save a loved one. Who does she turn to and why? What happens when Lia finds out who has taken her daughter Ash? What do they want? Who do they want to talk to and why? What does Lia have to do to get her daughter back? In what is once again war torn Ireland, what is a mother to do when she lives on one side and the enemy lives on the other side of the bridge over the river? What happens to her when she crosses into District 49? Who tries to stop her from entering the Fianna's area? Who rescues her with just one word? Who is the Fianna or what are the Fianna? Lia has to go to her ex, Seth for his help. The Fianna leadership wants to execute her as a spy, but I wonder who the real spy is if there is one. What do Lia and Seth find out when they go to rescue Ash? What is Seth given by the person that has Ash and what is he to do with it? Who is Ash to him? Read and find out more. This was a very interesting story.
To Love A Highland Dragon by Ann Gimpel (Part one of the Dragon Lore) - A dragon-shifter wakes, not certain why. He walks out, running into things that he does not recognize in Inverness. Dr. Maggie Hibbins spots him and watches him, eventually inviting him for lunch. As she sits and talks to him, she realizes some things. What things does she realize? How does it affect her and how does it affect him, more importantly? What does Lachlan do when he realizes the date after looking at a newspaper to figure out where he is? What caused Lachlan and his dragon half, Kheladin go to sleep? How much time has passed? When I found out, I was floored. It also made me curious as to what awoke Lachlan and Kheladin to wake. You really must read this wonderful Scottish Highlands story about a man, a dragon, and a witch and all the trials they go through, including with other dragons, mages, witches and the Celtic gods and goddesses themselves. This was a book I could not put down. I look forward to reading the next part to this series. There was just a hint of a few pages of the Dragon Maid by Ann Gimpel (Part Two of the Dragon Lore) at the end of Book One.
Demons' Captive by Evanne Lorraine - What is a warrior to do when she believes in duty, and falls in love with not just one male but two? This book is rife with fire demons, fire dragons, water demons, and a very evil ruler of a planet, who feels that he rules the entire galaxy that the planet is inside of. This book is full of misconceptions about other races, love, very erotic and hot sex scenes with Zaynah, Gunn, and Diablo. You really need to read this story to see everything that happens. I could not put it down from the time I picked it up. Oh, and we cannot forget the appearance of the fire goddess herself!
Blue Moon dragon by Shelley Munro - Emma and Jack work at an investigation company. Emma has been asking the owner, George for work out in the field, to prove to him that she can do the job other than just as a secretary. She's finally given a job with Jack, at a resort. She is infatuated with him and has been since she started working there it feels like. Jack doesn't seem to give her the time of day and seems to be a lone wolf, er...dragon shifter. What happens when they're put on an assignment together. How do their lives change? When things start to heat up at the Resort, life gets interesting for Emma and Jack. Talk about some steamy, erotic, hot sex. Understanding why Jack only has sex with women, and never gets into a relationship, but Emma not understanding his reasoning makes it interesting. Watching his personal struggles in his mind and body make things more interesting. Watching Emma get frustrated with Jack's comments and her own desire to take things into her own hands really makes this a fun read. The HEA of this story is the best part!
A Viking's Need by Zoe York - This is an interesting story about a Viking, Bjorn, who has somehow ended up on the eastern end of the continent in the mountains at a monastery. We know something happened, but not what. He has a motorcycle up on the mountain and enjoys riding it. Until a party happens at the old monastery building and a female dragon rider shows up with a group of rich people. She's caught in a compromising situation, but not what you think with another guest from the party. What happens between Britt and Bjorn when she challenges him to a race on the dragons to the top of the mountain? What drastic changes happen to Bjorn? Does he forsake his vows or does he keep them? You must read this to see what happens.
Flickering Light by Elainne Adams - Who is Barbara and why would her following one man destine her race to death? While the other would preserve it? What about love? Does that count for anything? What happens when the grieving of the people gets to be too much and her dragon hides itself away within her, only to not heed her call? She spends a night with her friend and a griffon shifter that she loves, only to find the Elders at her home when she returns, trying to get her to join her destined mate. What happens with Barbara? What happens to Clay? This was a really neat short story giving us a glimpse into this new world.

This was a mixed bag. There were enough really good stories to make it worthwhile, with some okay stories and some really not good. The three stars is an average between the really good and really bad stories. The really bad stories didn't suffer any technical issues that stuck out for me, it was just the storytelling, plots or characters that failed for me.
Releasing Her Dragon--this was one of the really, really good stories in this collection. I'd give it five stars. The story in Adams' series that follows this (Her Gingerbread Dragon) is still my favorite--I read that one first, but I did enjoy reading this story and thoroughly enjoy the characters she created here.
Dragon Reborn--this had potential but failed in execution, I'd give this one 1.5 stars. The idea of a dragon who is trapped in human form until he finds the scale he lost during a battle and working with an archaeologist to locate it is intriguing. Unfortunately, the details of the story weren't well thought out. One example--the battle throughout the story is referred to as an ancient myth and he's working with archaeologists who are digging up buried villages and locating artifacts. Toward the end of the story, it's claimed that the battle was one hundred and ten years ago--I can't see archaeologists getting excited about one hundred year old 'artifacts'. The final discovery of the scale doesn't make any sense if it has only been just over a century. Also the 'battle' to control his dragon felt like an artificial construct for no purpose other than to create a sense of urgency.
The Dragon's Stolen Bride--this was a waste of time. Maybe if I had read any other stories in this author's 'world' I might feel differently, but a ghost is basically the main character. This ghost can become corporeal, carry things at will --essentially unlimited in abilities. He finds the stolen bride of a man where she is being held prisoner by a dragon. There is very little explanation of the 'curse' the dragon is suffering, a cursory explanation of the six years she's held by him. All in all it doesn't work as a story on any level.
Ice--best story of the anthology, five stars. I loved the main character, she's a cage fighter who doesn't realize she's a dragon because she went into foster care as a young child. She's discovered by the leader of a dragon clan and he realizes she's the mate for him and his bonded partner (ménage story). The female character was realistically portrayed, she is damaged; yet, she stands her ground against the males, not submitting to what they think is right or best. The whole story, aside from the plot surrounding the discovery of her heritage, does a good job of the characters engaging in compromise to achieve happiness--it's not about what the dominant member of the triad wants or thinks, it's about what would work for all of them. It would have been great to see this as a full-length novel, some of the middle portion felt rushed, but it felt like a full story even with its brevity. This anthology was worth the purchase just for this one story.
Forged in Fire-This one hit my cringe scale (my negative stars scale--from one cringe to five cringes). I'd put this one at two cringes. It's a futuristic dystopian Ireland and the lead character, Lia is racing to save her daughter who has been kidnapped. To do this she has to seek out the father of her daughter whom she deliberately concealed the existence of a daughter from. I didn't like Seth (the father) from the first scene he appears in. Partly because the H of a romance novel is not supposed to watch a woman (even an ex-lover) being attacked without stepping in to help until he decides she's had enough. Second, it would have been nice if he'd had a backbone--I thought he was smarmy, weak and not sexy at all. The fact that the two of them have hot sex while supposedly racing to save the daughter just didn't work for me. There were other things at the end that I objected to but can't detail without spoilers.
To Love a Highland Dragon--Three cringes, the premise, execution and characters were just ridiculous. A Highland dragon shifter wakes after several hundred years and stumbles into modern day Scotland and into the path of an American woman in Inverness for a psychiatry fellowship. Maggie acts like a teenager, not a woman in her mid-20's since psychiatrists are medical doctors with a specialization of psychiatry so she would have to have completed undergraduate pre-med and medical school in order to be on a psychiatric fellowship. The editing is the only part of this story that isn't horribly bad--no egregious technical issues to get in the way of the rest of the badness.
Demons' Captive--Interesting premise and characters but not great with the execution. While I was reading it, it reminded me of Lauren Dane's Phantom Corps series--not with the plot, just the feel of the world Evanne Lorraine created in this story. Parts of it were seriously cringe-worthy, however. Here a warrior woman is dispatched on a mission by the evil Emperor. She's rescued by two demon brothers who are part of a rebellion against the emperor. The overarching plot was interesting and the characters and setting kept me engaged with the story. The sex part of this story destroyed the overall story. 'Demon ejaculate was a powerful aphrodisiac and packed a huge magic boost, especially when swallowed. This was their best shot at infusing her with the strength she needed to survive.' Really? Magical, life-saving body fluid of an adult nature that works best when swallowed. . . words fail me on this one. Skipping the sex scenes made this one a two star story; with the sex sub-plot it's a two cringes story.
Blue Moon Dragon-I'd give this one three stars. It's just a cute story pulling loosely from the plot of Exit to Eden (Rosie O'Donnell was in the movie based on the book, FYI). My only objection was to the 'limitations' of the taniwha (dragon shifter). I enjoyed this story being set in New Zealand and the writer did a good job of expressing the culture of the region without overwhelming the story. But a taniwha apparently needs lots and lots and lots of sex or he can't maintain human form and when he does shift form, he's stuck in his dragon form for an entire twenty four hours. It just felt like aspects of taniwha shifters were arbitrarily thrown in solely for the purpose of creating 'issues' or problems to complicate the story. That was really the only thing that detracted from the story for me. I didn't care much for Jack--I didn't dislike him, there just wasn't much to really like about him. Emma was a delightful character and I did enjoy her HEA.
A Viking's Need--very odd story that I'd almost give no rating at all to (not cringe-worthy but not star-worthy either). I'm not sure what the author was trying to do with all of the details about Bjorn, the Viking monk's, life and faith but it didn't really contribute to the story, especially considering how quick he was to abandon his faith when presented with Britt. I did like her as a character, it was just the storyline that was impossible to get into.
Flickering Light--another odd story. I'd give it two stars; but having read later stories in this series, I at least had some frame of reference. Honestly, if this had been the first story in the Avalore series that I'd been exposed to, I probably wouldn't have been the least bit interested. Well-written and interesting characters, just the plot was confusing and hard to get into.
TO LOVE A HIGHLAND DRAGON ~ Ann Gimpel ***** Love this dynamic duo!! Although this isn't quite time-travel, its similar to that theme, which is one of my favorite genres, with the added bonus of lots of magic. The plot is very interesting with very unique characters to help build up the plot. As these two learn from one another, naturally, everyone isn't happy for this couple. Lachlan and his cool dragon Kheladin are a great, not to mention sexy. Maggie is smart & very independent but blunders her way through to bloom into the woman/mate she was always meant to be.
Releasing her dragon by Elianne Adams is the first book in the series and it has whetted my appetite to read more, more, more. Stella has waited until the very last moment to find and claim her mate. He keeps running from her and she is out of time. Brycen thinks he has all the time in the world to claim his mate and if she would just leave him alone for one more week he would be extremely happy to mate with her and do everything right. But as we all know, some things are just not meant to be. Does Stella get Brycen to release her or does he claim her as they both want so much. Keep reading and find out. To Love a Highland Dragon by Ann Gimpel - Sigh. Dragons and Highland men, what more could you ask for? Lachlan merged his mage skills with Kheladin the dragon and they bonded years ago making them immortal. When they awaken from a sorcerers sleep spell, years have past. Lucky for them Maggie is a modern woman with a little bit of witch blood herself. Throw in some really amusing phrases here and there and you have a blend of the traditional Highland warrior meets today's modern woman. Sigh. Lots of action, lots of love, lots of magic. It's all there and just waiting for you to pick it up and read all about it. Dragon Reborn by LC Alleyne ties Viking legends and dragons together with the Iceland volcanos. Fantastic story tying all these elements together. great characters, great story, lovely descriptions of Iceland. Find out if Eva and Balthazar overcome Bal's brother Ti and find his missing scale. The Dragon's Stolen Bride by Sadie Haller has a ghost that tries to find his master's long lost bride to be. She disappeared 6 years ago and after tracking down the bride, he finds a few other twists and turns to the story. Ice by Skye Jones is about Claire who has no idea that she is dragon born. That and she as two mates. Her struggles are more in accepting what she is. Although there are a few twists to her story that have both good and bad endings. Enjoy! I know I did!
I was given an ARC of this anthology for an honest review
There are quite a few authors in this anthology I have never heard of but now are on my To Read More of list!
1. Releasing Her Dragon, by Elianne Adam's, Oh this was a GREAT story I LOVED it and think it should continue on!
2. Dragon Reborn, by LC Alleyne. Another awesome story and feel that this could be a series as well.
3. The Dragon's Stolen Bride, by Sadie Haller. This was a good story, seemed a bit like parts were missing for me, but still a good read
4. Ice, by Skye Jones. I LOVED this story, I want to read more about these Dragons, maybe a back story or a continuation, Maybe write about Jonathan, does he find a Mate or a male bond too?
5. Forged in Fire, Celtic Dragons, Book One, by Zara Keane. Set in 2158 in a post civil war Ireland, this story is part of a trilogy. This was just not my style of story I like to read.
6. To Love a Highland Dragon, Dragon Lore, Book One, by Ann Gimpel. A great time traveling trilogy opener. Highland Secrets is the prequel. I was given an ARC of this book a while back and have to say LOVE it, and the whole series is absolutely amazing.
7. Demons' Captive, Demons and Dragons, Book One, by Evanne Lorraine. Set in the galactic year 4416 in the Orion Galaxy. another story that was not really my kind of book.
8. Blue Moon Dragon, by Shelly Munro. This was a pretty HOT story, another one that I would like to either read the "prequel" to or about the other characters in the book.
9. A Viking's Need, Vikings in Space, Book Three, by Zoe York. A standalone with an HEA between a monk and a woman who loves the natural dragons on his planet. This was an okay story, again not really my kind of book.
10. Flickering Light, Return to Avalore, Prequel, by Elianne Adams. A short standalone with an HEA. I really didnt get into this story either, again not my kind of story.
ARC- Elianne Adam's. Will edit and update as I progress.
Releasing Her Dragon by Elianne Adam's- Epic! Pure genius! As usual, Author Elianne Adam's has left me speechless with this brand new series! She sucks you in from the first few pages with her ability to weave her magic around you in her action packed and extremely smoking hot romance from cover to cover, you won't be able to pick a favorite story of hers either! She certainly knows how to get your heart pumping!
I can't leave a blurb without giving spoilers but there's much more to this book than just what the blurb says. I rated this 5 star's.
Dragon Reborn by L.C. Alleyne- I didn't particularly care for this story by this new to me author. I found her lead female character to be weak. In the beginning of the book, the bodyguard (Lancelot, I think) said Eve had courage but I agreed with Balthazar when he called her a coward a little later in the story.
The Dragon's Stolen Bride by Sadie Haller- An ok story by this new to me author.
Ice by Skye Jones- Pretty decent story by new to me author Skye Jones.
Forged in Fire by Zara Keane- Pretty good story by new to me author Zara Keane. It's not really a dragon shifter story though.
To Love a Highland Dragon by Ann Gimpel- This book is amazing! I can't give it all the star's it deserves. Yet again, best selling author Ann Gimpel has left me speechless and stunned. The story flows magically and flawlessly. You won't be left confused or grasping at straws. Making it seamless. You probably read the blurb, it leaves out all the action and magic, the in depth characters and the earth shattering revelations through the twists and turns. I am already so excited about the next book in this series! I rated this book at 5 star's.

They are strong, sexy as all hell and shape shifters refusing to be dominated but rather be the dominoes. From 10 amazing new authors that I haven't had a previous chance to read, these novellas were simply entertaining, scorching, sexy as all heck and especially a cover to cover must read for the paranormal fan in all of us. I wish I could say more about each individual novella, but each were diverse, having an element setting itself differently from the other considering it's written by a different author and due to the fact that it is an anthology - it is one of my favorites to date for the paranormal genre and I love both anthologies and paranormal. And let's just face it - dragons have a reputation of being grumpy, strong, irresistible, domineering and especially insatiable.
. **Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed by Kathleen for Alpha Book Club**
This is a great set of stories. I love these sets for introducing me to new authors and visiting with some of my favorites. I have read many at this point and even one of the stories alone would make it a great purchase. I like how there are so many different types of stories included with varying settings and time period. They all have in common a lot of heat. I am going to list some of my favorites.
RELEASING HER DRAGON by Elianne Adams is an interesting story of a dragon shifter who needs her mate or she will be in for an awful destiny. He does not realize how desperate the situation is until the very end. I loved it.
THE DRAGON’S STOLEN BRIDE by Sadie Haller is a darker story of a dragon upset to lose a woman he needed and determined to make her suffer for her choice. It was an interesting story with a ghost trying to right the wrong.
ICE by Skye Jones is about a woman who has no idea she is a dragon until she is seen fighting in an MMA battle and identified as one. The man who finds her is determined to bring her back to his other mate so they can all be together. A hot menage with M/F, M/M and M/F/M situations.
DEMONS’ CAPTIVE by Evanne Lorraine is about a futuristic society and a woman who needs her demon mates to help her transition into her dragon. Another hot menage featuring two brothers who are demons.
I am eager to read the rest too but wanted to let everyone know that this is a great set to buy if you love paranormal romances. It is an amazing value.
This review is based on Blue Moon Dragon only as I haven’t read the other stories yet.
As a birthday present to herself, Emma Montrose decides it’s time to show Jake Sullivan that she’s a woman with needs and she wants him in this delightful paranormal romance.
Jack’s not interested in a commitment so he intends to stay far away from Emma but then work puts them together on a case and the readers can’t help but be delighted as Emma and Jack get all hot and steamy when their undercover work makes denying the hot sexual chemistry between them impossible. The characters are strong, captivating and grab the reader’s attention while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with suspense, excitement and passion as the well written scenes bring the sizzling passion and spine tingling excitement to life and the intriguing events ensure that there is a never a dull moment and provides quite a few a chuckles as the situation demands.
Shelley Munro has done it again and created a fascinating new dragon world with intriguing characters and setting and a refreshingly different dragon shifter element based on different mythology that spices things up. Jack and Emma’s story may have been a little on the short side but they sure delighted the heck out of me and I can’t wait to read the next Dragon Investigator book.

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.
I find it fascinating all the different ways that Dragon shifters can be portrayed. My favorite story was found in the middle of the selections. The whole book is worth the read thank you editors. Adult readers due to sexual and violent content.
I liked release her dragon from Elianne Adams en the book Ice in my boxset the first 3 books where 3 Times release her dragon EN the book from Kenzi Kreel told only what the book was about and the it stops so I mist 4 of the 10 books
Fantastic collection of dragon shifter stories. Some of the authors are past favorites and a few are new to me and will be looking for more from them. If you love paranormal and dragons you will love all the stories in this collection. Some are smoking hot and some are sweet and romantic.
I really enjoyed the different stories in this set. Each was different yet had excitement and a plot. I applaud the authors in this set for doing a great job. Thank you for brightening my days.
