I’m not sure what I’m missing but this books seemed to operate on the theory that this was a sort of sequel to the 1986 Transformers Motion Picture, taking place ten years after the fall of Unicron. But a lot of the characters (such as Starscream, Iron Hide and most notably Optimus Prime) are alive and well while other characters were unrecognizable. Most notably the aforementioned Iron Hide, who comes off not as the grizzled veteran from Generation 1 but instead as a wide eyed rookie. The story itself didn’t really entice me to follow the series either. Although the prospect of Megatron and Prime teaming up as had been hinted in the pages is certainly something I would be curious to see. If done well it could be a great storyline.

I did think it would but the book and art have grown on me in just a couple pages. The story line is definitely worth the read. To think I am actually glued to the pages. Some of these characters are so sweet. Great start! My rating for this story is 4.5 out 5.0.
What lies beneath:
I love how this story is beginning to unfold. The characters are believable and have big personalities. The only hang up I have is that the art does not seem clear or defined enough at times. My overall rating for this story is 4.3 out of 5.0.
What lies beneath part 2:
All I can say is powerlinx prime is awesome. This story continues to flow smoothly and continues to be engaging and intriguing. My rating for this story is 4.5 out of 5.0.
What lies beneath part 3:
The story continues on the track it has been heading down. No real surprises here except for the guy who shows up on the last page. My overall rating for this story is a 4.1 out of 5.0.
What lies beneath part 4:
The chapter gave the book a decent ending, and it definitely left room for a continuation. I would have liked to have seen the art a little more clear and the human characters to have a little more personality. My overall rating for this book is a 4.3 out of 5.0.
