Jasmine is on the not-it list when it comes to relationships. A fling here and there? Definitely. But full blown commitment? No way in hell. Dealing with a man full-time is just not worth the trouble when you can get what you want and get away like it never happened.
That was the plan when she met Rich, a good and worthy fling, but exactly that...a fling. Until the cravings start. And Jasmine is forced into a whole new realm of life when she least expected it.

Everyone loves a good surprise baby story and this was it! I love Rich's energy the entire book and once he made up in his mind Jasmine was for him he never let her go! Jasmine was spicy, deermined, and fun! Her I can do bad all on my own turned to mush when Rich finally let her know she didn't have to do it alone. Her parent dynamic was interesting and I was glad to see that get resolved. Her sister Bailey's husband though, whew chile a mess! LOL glad she dodged a bullet there! This was a fun light read and I definitely recommend! I need to see if there are any stories on Rich's sister Rae or Jasmine's sister Bailey cause I am intrigued!
This was a good story. The best thing was that even though it’s described as a novella, it didn’t feel short or abrupt. I got a whole story and was able to feel the growth between Rich and Jaz.
This was a great read. I love how hard on the outside and soft on the inside Jasmine was. Rich knew just what to say to melt her tough exterior. This was just too cute, throw in a surprise pregnancy and it checks all the boxes.
This was a short read that kept me on the edge of my seat ! From the way these two met , to how they became what they did—I just had to find out what happened between Jasmine and Rich… and boy did it get crazy. Jasmine just wanted the thrill of life for once and Rich was all about his family (or what was left of it) until two worlds collide… literally and figuratively. After that, everything was crazy. I love the fact that Jasmine didn’t fight what was happening to her— instead she embraced it, sort of. The fact that all of that happened in the beginning and he was nameless to her is crazy.. kept me wanting more of the story. Rich carried himself like a “Rico Suave” get any woman type of man, but still sexy….Rich is one smooth talking “make you feel what he’s saying” a$$ mofo… He wasn’t who I thought he would be after finding out “the news” (I don’t want to spoil it 😜) Boy… thank god for Ariel.. she was a true support system to Jasmine even though she always found a way to throw her two sense into everything. Lol. But Jasmine was so lucky to have a friend like her. Overall., this was a great book, I won’t ruin the ending but I recommend you read this ASAP .. especially if you need a quick read.
Reading Ms. Warren’s Tale of Two Cities Halloween installment brought me to Rich & Jasmine’s story. From their first encounter I could tell that Jaz needed to find the right person to calm her fear about something—which ended up being her fear of settling and becoming like each of her parents but in a different way. Rich was the total alpha male, but he was not afraid to let his soft side show when it came to his sister and his love interest. There where times when I thought he may be a bit soft--because Jaz's mouth was hella reckless, but it was really patience and him letting her wear herself out. Once Jaz stopped fight with herself (a losing battle anyway) she let herself try something new and embarked upon a wonderful, albeit unconventional journey.
Alexandra Warren loves writing a FMC that I struggle with, lol. Jasmine was on my last nerve for a good portion of the book. But I loved how she stood up for her life and decisions, and how she drew that boundary with her mother.
Rich's whole big brother/ single dad combo vibe was nice. I like how he was ready to protect his sister and always spoke to her with honesty and wisdom, but he was smart enough to know she'd have experiences whether he approved or not and so he made space for her to grow up.
The actual love story was calmer than I expected, with their journey to parenthood taking precedence. But there's enough spice to make you appreciate their bond.
Oh my goodness I loved me some Jasmine and Rich... truly their love was indeed unconventional but nevertheless just as full and intimate as any loving relationship. The chemistry was there from the onset and it just so happens that the sparks flew. I really hope Rae gets her head on straight because baby girl was making bad decisions. I’m glad Bailey will have a chance to live life for herself instead of her mom. Amazing read I can’t wait to read what’s next
I really like this story mainly because Rick and Jaz stayed true to themselves. There wasn’t some last minute ‘aww’ moment that magically changed their personalities and made them the traditional HEA. They remained true and got the best love from each other. I liked Jasmine with her stubborn self and rich with all his arrogance. I would highly recommend this story! Awesome job Ms Warren!
I loved how much of a diva jasmine was but it took Rich to tame her I loved that Rich didn't judge her of her pass I even loved his character more when he didn't question her ethics even whatever his boy Jamison said they really made a cute couple😚. Can't wait to read more of the two I think Rich will knock her up again this time with twins this was a really good read.
This was fun. It is a more of the meeting of the minds and getting to know each other romance. Meaning, it doesn’t have a lot of the heat we’ve come to expect from Ms. Warren and that’s okay 🙂.
It does have enough angst and push & pull to keep you thoroughly engaged. Rich, Jasmine and the supporting cast are worth your time.
I've just started with books by this author and this love story grabbed me right from the beginning. Rich & Jasmine's journey was beautiful. He was exactly what she needed and vice versa.
Two committment phobic souls, meet and struck by cupid's arrow. I enjoyed the build up to them falling in love. The playful banter, and how persistent Rich was to make her "his", was beautiful.
Jasmine is headstrong and independent. She takes no mess off anyone or all be damed. Rich is the ladies man and smart wit. He and Jasmine has something in common, they don't do relationships. You will definitely enjoy their banter. It's comical! Her mother need some work. It's never good comparing your children lives and passing judgement on their lifestyle. It could end with your child drawing back from said parent. Lucky for her she got some act right.
The beginning had me a bit off and hoping karma smacks her but the unravelling of the slow burn relationship worn off my annoyance. Things happen for a reason and putting ego aside and letting life be an experience to learn from can change someones life alot.
A patient man + A guarded woman = chef's kiss. Rich refused to let Jasmine self sabotage because he saw right through her facade when others would've given up. Such a cute couple and I loved their dynamic.
This was super cute and funny. I know mrs warren will keep me laughing and I appreciate the light heartedness during these times. Also i LOVE the banter
Rich and Jasmine might have been unconventional, but they were also funny as hell. This was such a quick read, full of cuteness and laughs. Definitely worth the read.
I really like Novellas because they leave out those contrived "arguments" used to fill space. Sometimes though they aren't filled with enough to make a story feel complete. Not this one... I got a real sense of who the characters were.... They had great chemistry and it was a cute story...
An Unconventional Love is the story of Jasmine and Rich, two self proclaimed non committals, whose chance meeting leads to surprising and life changing consequences and complications.
This was a fun quick read! I loved the chemistry between Jasmine and Rich and was impressed how you could feel the physical attraction between them despite the fact that there weren't a lot of overtly sexual moments written. This a cute concept however I think I'd like a follow up as I was kind of left feeling "well what now??"..
Honestly, Alexandra Warren really never disappoints; she writes well, tells great stories and easily became one of my top choice authors after reading"The Real Deal" (Highly recommended if you haven't read)
Who would have thought an unlikely encounter could bring two people together. Well that's exactly what happened for Rich and Jasmine. Their chemistry was undeniable and it just fit. When her feistiness collides with his cockiness while working out the kinks in their little situation anything is possible. I loved Rich's confidence and arrogance it did some to me. This was my first read from this author but certainly not my last!!
Love this book, I bought the hard copy. My only critique is that I noticed in a few books this author says "good hair". I know this was written a few years ago but not so long ago that she shouldn't know better than to use such divisive, negative language like that. It might explain why most of her characters in her books are light skin as opposed to a range of shades. Don't get me wrong, I love her writing but that's an area where she can improve.
There is nothing I love more in a book than a surprise pregnancy trope. Especially when that surprise pregnancy came from a one night stand. This was such a fun and cute love stories about two strangers who had a one night stand , ended up pregnant and falling in love with each other. Just the right amount of drama and mushy feelings!
After a chance encounter following an accident Jaz and Ric reconnected at an event. Aš harad aš they tried there was no hiding how the felt for each other. Although strange and different love united them.
Awwww Rich was everything! He was a great man and didn't shy away from responsibility. Jasmine wasn't going to make anything between them easy lol I'm glad Rich never backed down from the challenges she threw at him
