Throughout this series of apocalyptic novels, there will be references to things you know to be true, and extrapolations to things that are likely to occur. This first book of the Miss the Mark Series places, in a fictional setting, things that do occur in the lives of people who follow Christ, along with miracles and gifts from God. We are never perfect, but we know the One who guides our lives.
Tormented Dreams, Book 1 by Adrienna Turner is an extraordinarily powerful and masterly story told by this author. Indeed, the style of this novel was masterfully designed, characterized by an astute amount of finely tuned family and life challenges that moved the plot from one intense scene to another enhanced by tormenting dreams. Having distrust in her husband fidelity accentuated by tormenting dreams, Roya appears to live under the influence of an unloved and jealous wife. In the course of this gripping story, the author inserts the praise of God frequently as she moves from one scenario to another, quickly pacing through each scenario, sometimes confrontational, as she tells the story as clearly as possible of Roya and her reaction to her tormenting dreams. Throughout each narrative, this author skillfully traces the lives of both husband and wife who had been caught up in the suspicion of plaguing tormenting dreams. Additional, this author draws the reader into the minds of this lovely couple and invites the reader to identify with their personal anxieties and joys, recognizing that both husband and wife have proven to be persons of extraordinary courage, skill, and ability. Drawing from the extrapolations of religious and biblical end time events, this author displayed an exceptionally rich, vivid and creative imagination in developing Book One of this apocalyptic series. Told in graphic and honest detail, this riveting story should be read by everyone who is interested in learning about the damning effects tormenting dreams can bring upon the stability of family and marital relationships, and the dramatic end time closing events of this age.
Title: Tormented Dreams Author: Adrienna Turner Publisher: Dream Your Reality Prophecies (DYRP) Series: Miss the Mark Book 1 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review:
"Tormented Dreams" by Adrienna Turner
My Rationalization......
This was one interesting emotional apocalyptic reads about the 'end time.' A christian fiction read that will keep your attention turning the pages to see what was coming next for Roya Whitmore who has some 'prophetic dreams' about her family and this 'new world order.' Will these dreams come true for Roya? Will she be able to overcome her insecurities and obey God's will?
This author presents the reader with a story that deals with Roya's family mainly her husband [Solomon], mother [Jewel], children [5] and even some sisters that were new to her. Along with what is going on the the word around ... them implanting of microchips in people with this becoming a reality and government policies who will be monitoring this 'One World Order' was quite interesting.
I did enjoy how the author present to the ready a interesting narrative that brings in the vision of what could happen during the 'end times.' I will also say that the family drama was really something at times that did have me shaking my head. I would have rather had more of the apocalyptic subject matter than some of that family drama however, it did all come to a point of understanding by the end of the story. How will this family face the end of days as found in the scriptures of Revelations and Daniel? I did enjoy the end time revelation of the story. I believe the story all comes together so very well at the end.
If you are looking for a riveting story that brings much light to the the prophecy of the 'end times' then this novel would be of interest to you as it does bring out the realism and believability to cause one to think and ponder over long after the read.
This is a Christian fiction novel about Roya & her husband Solomon. There is also her 5 kids, Mom & some unexpected siblings. Roya has these dreams that seem to be some sort of prophecy. Then her mom tells her that she needs to check on her husband because it’s being reported that he’s cheating or it could be his artist since they resemble each other so much. She tries to ignore that but curiosity... That leads to a mishap. But, that’s not all. Her mom tells her she has a half sister that she gave birth to while her father was away in the military & she put her up for adoption then there are 2 other sisters that her father had when he was away. What’s worse is she keeps having these dreams but she never loses her faith but sometimes she seems really close. Also, they are living in revelations and the author is constantly referring to scriptures and something like a war. It’s a war of the government really vs the people. The government wants control over everything & everybody by having everyone implanted with microchips that’ll tell their every move. The microchip will be used for everything from taking attendance of the kids in school to paying for groceries at the store. In my opinion this novel was really slow & didn’t hold my attention but it was well written & didn’t have many typos.
Book One Of The Miss The Mark Series A New Apocalyptic Series With a Hip And Up To Date Story-line
STORY LINE TORMENTED DREAMS:
This is the first book in the Missed The Mark Series. A new intense and riveting end times series. In Tormented Dreams, author Adrienna Trurner created an emotional apocalyptic Christian novel. Roya and Solomon Whitmore, married and much in love, find themselves facing the end of days found in Revelations and Daniel. Solomon, a successful business man, is firm in his Christian faith. He is a music producer, video producer, director, and actor. Because of his fame and the many women which flock around him, Roya has a tough time with security issues within her marriage. Also, Roya is dreaming prophetically, will these dreams come true? What does the future hold for Roya, Solomon and their five children?
Solomon and Roya become active in the ACC, Alliance for Crusaders of Christ, spreading the word in closed groups of the coming Anti-Christ. Chipping is eminent as the one world government is gathering forces. Realizing without the soul damning chip, they will no longer be allowed to buy or sell the necessities of life, ACC is preparing for the tribulation. Consequently, the ACC spreads the word, stores essentials, and readies for the end times.
Can Roya overcome her insecurities, obey God's will, and become a solider of the last days? Can their marriage survive her suspicion and accusations? What part do their children hold in this coming world? Will Solomon be able to protect his family?
Come and have your eyes opened to the end times prophecy revealed in an entertaining novel. My apocalyptic Christian novel review of Tormented Dreams, book one of the Missed The Mark Series follows.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:
Although similar to the Left Behind Series, the Miss The Mark Series stands on it own merits, story-line, characters, and slant on the end times. Ms. Turner created a more upbeat and hip story-line which young and mature readers will relate.
Turner developed each of her character to their full potential. I found them believable and real. As a result, I wanted to shake Roya at time for her disrespect and unbelief in Solomon, and tell her mother to grow-up and get a job. Turner created real situations with real emotions in this novel.
The pacing of Tormented Dreams was steady and smooth without lagging or blogging down. Turner grabs the reader in the first paragraphs and does not let go until the last page. I wanted to start the next book immediately, as I became invested in these characters and the story-line.
Finally, in-concluding my apocalyptic Christian novel review of Tormented Dreams, I found this a solid well written story; written with realism and believability. Furthermore, this novel will cause the reader to think, ponder, and just maybe, grab the Bible to read the Word. With a hip and up to date story-line, this novel will appeal to both the younger audiences as well as the more mature.
TORMENTED DREAMS, RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4
In addition, I gave this novel 4 stars. Written by a talented author, I found the story-line intense and thought-provoking. I look forward to book 2 of this series.
FINALLY PLEASE NOTE:
Additionally, I received this book from the author and chose to voluntarily review the book with an honest apocalyptic Christian novel review.
Lastly, book reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion. Consequently, all book reviews on-line and on my blog, are my opinion. Without a doubt, the ARC did not affect my voluntary apocalyptic Christian novel review.
I was given this book by the author for my honest review through Christian Books Only Review Group. I really wanted to love this book. But I just liked it. It’s an “end times” Christian fiction Thriller Novel. It Started out with main character, Roya Whitmore, pregnant with third pregnancy. Solomon Whitmore, her husband, and Jewel, her mother, along with her three children, Joy, and twin boys, Tavon and Javon. Roya has been having dreams. It seems she’s always had dreams off and on, but now her dreams are worrying her more than those before. She dreams of her husband cheating and that’s something she gets very upset by all throughout the book. The author’s vision of what may happen during the end times is great. I agree myself with the idea. This is what kept my interest throughout the book. But the family drama really wasn’t up to standard. At times, it could be. Other times, not so much. I didn’t like the back and forth with her husband on intimate things between a husband and wife. It being a Christian novel, I would expect especially, those things to not be present or written in a appropriate way. Throughout the book, I kept waiting for something to happen, but it never did. There wasn’t enough apocalyptic end times drama and too much family drama that didn’t really connect with the story. But on a better note, because of the end times subject, it did keep my interest up. It was very interesting and would have been better if there had been more apocalyptic subject matter and less family drama. There were also, a lot of miss wording. Words that should be there, weren’t or words that shouldn’t be there, were. I wouldn’t have mentioned this, but there were just too much for me not to notice. But all in all, I did like the book, because of my interest being peaked on the end times/mark of the beast subject matter. That’s why the three star rating. I did like it. Could be a great book for some, but for me, it’s just a like.
Tormented Dreams is an end-times thriller about a woman who has prophetic dreams and focuses on her, her husband, mother, siblings and children as they navigate the "new world order." The prologue was a little confusing to me as it just jumped right into a scene and I wasn't sure exactly what was going on. I also didn't really like the violence and gore in that scene. From there, it got better and I did enjoy the storyline overall. However, I did find it a little difficult to read. The text was heavy with a lot of long dialogues and long verses of scripture and it just didn't seem to flow easily as the reader. Unfortunately, I found it didn't hold my attention as much as I had hoped.
