After spending 15 years as a celibate dragon, Sebastian Kane finds his desire ignited on his latest assignment for the Silver Wizard: preparing a curvy college graduate for her first shift into dragon. Problem is, Skylar Moore thinks she's human.
Although she thinks Sebastian is a smokin' hot hunk who ignites her libido, the idea of her being a fanged, fire-breathing dragon is a little too much to take, even with a shot or ten of tequila from the bar where she works.

Not only is Skylar a dragon, she's a rare Jewel, whose scales will be real diamonds. Skylar is the missing princess of a dragon clan and it's Sebastian's job to return her safely back to her people. There's a pack of greedy hyenas howling to kill her so they can get rich from selling her scales. Sebastian has his hands full training this pretty dragon, and keeping her safe from those who would harm her, while fighting the temptation to call her his own.

Bonnie Vanak fell in love with romance novels during childhood. While cleaning a hall closet, she discovered her mother’s cache of paperbacks and started reading. Thus began a passion for romance and a lifelong dislike for housework.

After years of newspaper reporting, Bonnie became a writer for a major international charity. She travels to destitute countries such as Haiti to write about famine, disease and other issues affecting the poor. When the emotional strains of her job demanded a diversion, she turned to her childhood dream of writing romance novels.

She lives in Florida with her husband Frank and two dogs, where she happily writes books amid an ever-growing collection of dust bunnies.

This book takes a hard right turn into dragon shifter territory. Sebastian, who was the dragon that Rob killed mercifully in the last story, is Tristan's "helper." There's something about these wizards taking spoiled and reckless youth and more or less turning them into slaves....That's the case with Sebastian. He's tasked with helping Skylar, a jewel dragon shifter, transition into her powers and returning her to her long lost family so she can be a wise and awesome ruler. Sebastian doesn't expect to fall in love with Skylar. And Skylar didn't know she was a dragon, so she didn't expect anything that Sebastian showed her. But she learns quickly, works alongside Rob and his wife and learns the ways of dragonhood. But she's a rare and valuable jewel dragon with diamond scales - so other greedy shifters want to kill her to increase their own wealth, but Sebastian is determined to protect the woman he's come to love.

Nice world building here, with the dragon clans and the rules for dragon shifters being fairly clearly spelled out and all. I liked Skylar and Sebastian, and the two have a solid friendship to start with. There's some chemistry that's on low heat to start, but it heats up as the story progresses. And it's mostly UST to begin with, since Sebastian knows he has a job to do and he the nature of his enslavement means he can't stick around and be Skylar's mate, so he tries to keep his distance. The end part was most decidedly angsty and I was looking forward to that reunion. Unfortunately, it seems the author decided to forgo the emotional reunion and go for something a bit more low key. I really wanted a crying jag to come from the ending, which I would most definitely expect but no dice here. It was entirely anticlimactic.

Maybe it’s just that I’ve lead a sheltered life, but in my experience, good books about Dragon shifters are few and far between. There are hoards of books about werewolves and quite a few about other predators like lions and tigers and bears (oh my), were-panthers and jaguars. Laurel K. Hamilton has even managed to create convincing were-rats in her Anita Blake stories. Dragons, particularly those who actually spend time and are convincing in their dragon form have been pretty scarce which made Bonnie Vanek’s Temptation all that much more of a treat.
The story begins with Skylar, just an ordinary, struggling, fresh out of college 21 year old struggling to make ends meet and pay down her college tuition debt working at a local bar until she finds a real job in her field Then she meets Sebastian, a drop-dead gorgeous black haired man who comes to her rescue when she tries to break up a fight between a local biker and one of the yuppie types who hangs out there.
Before long, Skylar discovers that neither she nor the world she lives in are quite what she’s always believed and that life holds a lot more dangers than just missing this month’s rent payment.
Temptation is a modern day fantasy-action-romance story that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It has poignant moments that will tug at your heart strings and make you wonder how families (human or “other”) can be so cruel, but mostly it will make you smile and restore your faith in happily ever after. If you enjoy fantasy romances you really ought to give this one a try. It gave me everything I was looking for in a light fantasy read ... AND IT HAS DRAGONS!

Temptation by Bonnie Vanak is just a plain old fun read. This paranormal romance manages to stay light even when dealing with serious issues such as in-house clan fighting and sacrificing one’s life. Sounds like heavy stuff but the plot is never bogged down by these. This made it the perfect afternoon read for me. While I had read some of the stories in this series, I had not read them all. It did not affect the enjoyment of this story which I found to be a satisfying read all on its own.

The two main characters, dragon shifters along with the supporting wolf shifters are well-developed. I think this is the first time that I have read where both of the main characters are dragons. Skylar, the heroine is a lovely person who has never quite fit in with the regular human world. I delighted in watching her fully grasp her dragon heritage along with Sebastian’s help. Of course, he is a hunk of a dragon himself. Perhaps he had been a hot head when he was younger, but it is obvious that he takes the protector role to heart. Lastly, I found Justin and his loyalty to Skylar to be very intriguing. The last we see of him implies that his story will be next. I can hardly wait.

Skylar Moore has lived her young life not aware that she is a dragonshifter, much less a princess and heir to one of the dragon clans but as her awakening approaches, her life is now at risk.

Sebastian Kane, a powerful dragonshifter who has spent the last century in servitude to a powerful wizard and sorcerer as repayment for saving his life, has been tasked to guide Skylar during her change, protect her and take her back to her clan to assume her role as her grandfather's heir.

Quite an enjoyable read overall thought the tone and setting is contemporary (I much prefer medieval settings for fantasy/PNR). This is my first read from this author & I wasn't sure what to expect. Quite short and I would have like a bit more depth to the story. The 1st part of the story was interesting; with Skylar coming to terms with being a dragonshifter (I so empathize with her horror at putting on weight even with dieting!) and the mutual attraction between her & Sebastian but the 2nd part of the story after she shifted was a bit flat.

Temptation was a fun read where there was plenty of intrigue, mystery, back stabbing, loving, sexy shifters, along with sweet and innocent Skylar. Skylar doesn’t know who she really is, her foster parents having been dead for a few years and having no one else to rely on. Sebastian is the big sexy dragon shifter that has been assigned to her.

The book was good as it introduced several other kinds of shifters, good friends as well as enemies. They all worked as a community. Sebastian works with Skylar helped by his friends. You could feel the sense of family that had been created.

As the end of the book neared, it grabbed my emotionally and kept me guessing at what was happening. Skylar was beautiful and strong when she returned home. It was good to see that she had an ally in her cousin Justin. While this was part of the Werewolves of Montana Mating Mini, I didn’t feel that I had missed anything by not reading the other books first.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Sebastian Kane is a dragon on a mission for the Silver Wizard and that mission is named Skylar Moore. Trouble is that Skylar doesn’t know she is a dragon shifter and the story is all about Sebastian helping her understand and deal with all that she is. The story is much deeper and intricate than the simple statement above however I don’t want to spoil the story for you. You will love these two; I know I did. Sebastian has heart and a real depth – which I will tell you he hasn’t shown in his many, many years. Great supporting characters as well. And Skylar learns to embrace her shifter role. I enjoyed the story and read it straight thru. I highly recommend, even if you haven’t read any of the others in this series. It really was very, very good.

This is the fifth book in the werewolves of Montana series and my first book by this author. This is a great romance story about Sebastian who's a dragon shifter assigned with the task of assisting Skylar through her first change. This is going to prove to be quite difficult for him considering the fact that she believes that she's human and that he's crazy. There's a pack of hyenas who are after Skylar for her valuable scales and Sebastian will do whatever it takes to protect her and keep her safe. While this was my first book by this author it will definitely not be my last. I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to anyone. I will be reading much more of this author in the immediate future! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another Great Dragon Shifter, August 9, 2015

This review is from: Temptation: A Dragon Story (Werewolves of Montana Mating Mini Book 5) (Kindle Edition)
Great new story about Dragon shifters.. Sebastian is sent by the Silver Wizard to teach Skylar that she is a dragon shifter,,Abandoned by her parents, to a foster family, she has no idea what she really is.
Turns out Skylar is a quick study and Sebastian is a great teacher.. Has love, a few laughs and some heartache..But turns into a really good love story..
Can't wait for the next in this great series.

Skylar is just doing her job, only wants to live her life and do what she has to to get by. Then she looks down the bar and there he is. She is drawn to Sebastian. After that it is chaos and she doesn't have time to process exactly what is happening to her. Turns out, she is a dragon. Who knew? Sebastian has to help her become the dragon she was meant to be. But, what would happen to him after that?

Love this series and can't wait for the next one. I am not one for spoilers but I will say this book has a bit of mystery, true mates, old and new shifters, and a HEA ending. Have read Bonnie Vanak's books for years and have never been disappointed.

I received a free book for an honest review.

Bonnie had done it again with such a wonderful dragon shifting story. Both joy and pain are felt when reading this book so be warned! I cannot wait for the next book so I can resubmerge myself into their world once again.

It's worth every word.

I laughed, I cried. I felt anxious, I felt lust. The book is just that good. I pictured every location described, felt like I was there in the story.

not really sure how I felt about this book I felt like Sebastian's connection with her came on way too fast the book wasn't given a chance to fire up before he started telling Skylar he loved her it was a little odd, plus I just felt that Skylar reminded me of a schoolgirl.
