Four curvy heroines. Four deployed soldiers. Four love stories—and they all begin with just one letter.
It started with One Letter . Kellie sent one letter into the Middle East and Sargent Daniel Rodriguez was the one who answered. Despite an ocean between them, love blossomed. But can you truly love someone you've never met?
It began with One E-Mail . Madelyn sent out one e-mail to the most feminine name on a list of deployed soldiers–SFC Taylor Russell replied. They exchanged e-mails for months, until somewhere along the way they stopped exchanging words and began exchanging pieces of themselves. Their love blossomed quickly, but will it prove strong enough to survive the test of family?
It happened One Christmas. Jane wrote a letter and Sgt Brad Wilcox replied. Despite their age difference, they connected with their words. But when they finally came together, their differences became glaring. They'd already conquered distance, but will they be able to overcome the years between them–or will their time together be limited to one Christmas?
It was sparked by One Note . Lauren sent a note of encouragement to her newest assigned soldier–Private Mason Carter was that soldier. Despite their attempts to remain guarded with one another, the walls fall fast, and then in the blink of an eye the unthinkable happens. No stranger to loss, Lauren is faced with a choice–run to him or run from him. Either way, their hearts will never be the same.
One letter: I received this for a honest review. I just love Christin Lovell’s books. She always does such an amazing job. You will find that the women in her books are these confident beautiful woman with sexy curves. The characters always show that you should be happy with who you are and not worry what others think.
It started with some simple letters and some care package. As the letters went on Kelly and Daniel found that they were following for each other. They poured their heart and soul into their letters. Let each other know how their day was, struggles, wants, and desires.
Kelly was worried about what Daniel would think once he saw her. She felt like it would be over as soon as he saw her. When Daniel had let her know that he that his time was up and he was coming to see her well that made her heart drop. She was not ready for things to end.
Daniel had one goal and that was to claim the woman that he fell in love with. Her letters meant so much and got him through his time. He was hard headed and was not going to leave without giving it his best shot to make her his.
Will Daniel be truly expecting of Kelly once he sees her? Can Kelly take the leap of faith and give Daniel a chance. This was a great book and I am sure you will enjoy this story as much as I did.
One Email: It started with one email. I found it funny that Madelyn thought she was emailing a woman soldier. I could only imagine the smirk that Taylor got from time to time when he thought about Madelyn thinking he was a woman. He did try to hint from time to time.
Madelyn was only looking from friendship and to give a soldier something to look forward two. She never dreamed that she would find love through emails. Taylor fell in love with how Madelyn poured her heart and soul into each and every email. It just caused him to love her even more.
The first meet between these two was special. Taylor looked forward to meeting this curvy woman he fell in love with through her words. Of course this left plenty of room for his brothers to tease.
This story has been the most special to me so far. Since I live in Kentucky and I met the man that I have been with for 13 years through email. It is a story how one can fall in love with someone’s inward beauty before seeing how beautiful they are on the outside. FIY, there is no way I would of agreed to no book boyfriends..LOL
One Christmas: Jane Dubreaux was a mother of one. She was curvy and very beautiful. Her daughter was going away to college and she did not know how to handle being without her daughter. She had started writing a letter to a soldier she never met. It was supposed to be friendship and support. What she never dreamed was love.
There was a huge age difference between Sergeant Brad Wilcox and Jane Dubreaux. She was defiantly the cougar in this relationship. Jane had a hard time getting past the age and the fact that the man she divorced had cheated on her. She felt that one day Brad would regret being with an older woman.
Brad knew one thing, he wanted Jane, well that and he was going to make her his. He was not sure how but he was going to win her heart. All he knew was to be patient and hope she would come around.
This was a sweet story of how just simple letters turned into so much more. No matter how much Brad flirted with Jane in the letters she would not flirt back. He knew the only way to win her was to show up in person. WOW, was a surprise that must have been to see such a sexy man on your door step. Yum…
Disappointing. I wanted a fun quick sexy read, unfortunately this wasn't it. I was bored by the first story and even the sex scene was very lacking. It's got the typical curvy girl with low confidence and the sexy Puerto Rican guy and it's nice that he likes her and desires her but it's just very lacking overall. The lecture in her fifth letter to him about commitment etc, was just.. well, yawn worthy and annoying. Not the read I was hoping for. I gave it 2 stars because it's alright as a free read on ku but I want something hotter, deeper and more substantial.
I absolutely enjoyed these stories. These women began writing to soldiers not looking for love but to show their support from afar, to let them know they weren't forgotten. Also, I liked that that the correspondence happened over time, like a year or longer (at least in 1 or 2 stories). These couples really got to know each other and developed a deep bond without having met face to face.
This was a well written book broken up into 4 mini stories about men in the military. I loved the flow of the entire book. Being able to follow each story through their letters/emails, was a great idea. It allowed for me to feel like I was part of the book. And the fact that the heroines were of a thick/curvy nature, made the book even better. I couldn't put the book down.
Super cute ready of short stories about soldiers and their loves via emails and letters! Predictable, sure but reading is meant to be a fun escape and that's exactly what this read is! Perfect for Valentine's Day or anytime you need those warm fuzzies!
Great stories, great idea, enjoyed reading them for the most part, however.....the author's tendency to veer of into lengthy statements about love, commitment, fidelity, honour, spoiled the flow. Otherwise this could have been a 4 or even 5 star review.
All four books are nice short stories. They could be the start of full length books. I would have loved to see more of each couples after they get together.
I was honestly torn between if I thought this was great or if it was predictable (not in a good way). I liked it was 4 different stories and that it was about curvy women falling for soldiers. To leave out spoilers, the different stories had same word usage style when it came to point of view when a soldier was talking about how he felt. Each story, besides the last, had same chain of events and was easy to predict. I loved it due to the subject and characters, but at same time I wasn't that impressed. I expected more.
Oh My Word this is one amazing book. This book is filled with penpals of all kinds both written and email to soldiers in the war and how they connected with the writer without ever seeing each over eye to eye and fall for each other thru writings.
Beautiful and moving and yes hot too. this book is so well written and touched me in so many ways.
