I'm a UK based author who loves to read and write all things romance. As Skye Jones I write steamy paranormal romance that ranges from light and fun to dark and gritty.
As S.R. Jones I write darker contemporary romance and romantic suspense.
I live in Yorkshire, and get lots of inspiration from the windswept moors, the old stone buildings and the Celtic myths of this fair isle.
My dogs are my favourite people, and I'm quite fond of my husband too. I love chocolate and starbucks mochas and keep meaning to give them up for a life as a svelte fashion plate - it never happens!
*A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.*
This second in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone, is m/m only.
Almost 30-year-old Aeron is hired on as the new ranch hand at Dylan's ranch in Wales. Aeron has been taking of his mother and her chronic condition for a long time and many in his small town turned their back on him when he came out so this job is helpful in more ways than one. The fact that his new boss, Dylan is gorgeous, albeit straight (or so he thinks) is just the icing on the cake.
Dylan has returned to Wales after losing his mate in a assignment gone wrong and he's been licking his wounds since then. The new ranch hand piques his interest and his wolf likes him a lot. But Dylan doesn't want to go down that path of possible loss and sorrow again. His mission is to kill the damn vampires who killed his team and his lover and won't rest until then. Even if it kills him.
I did feel that Aeron seemed a bit young for his 29 years and Dylan's back and forth was a bit angsty but I think the story was well-written and edited.
We get to see Kayley, Sean and Luke and other members of the various teams again (although if you haven't read #1, you'd still be ok). They come to fight the menace stalking Dylan.
I enjoyed this! I loved Aeron (although he kept reading as much younger than nearly 30 to me for whatever reason, I kept thinking he was more like 22) and I thought that he and Dylan had great chemistry together. Dylan, of course, is still mourning over his mate (I mean, it's only been 2 years, not like 20), so his angst and conflict over his attraction to Aeron was totally believable and made him an interesting character.
Also, there is SO much more to this book than the blurb lets on. "Danger rears its ugly head" in the form of And so in comes the calvary - literally. There were a LOT of characters introduced all at once towards the end of the book, and I hadn't read the first book in this series, so it felt a bit jumbled with so many people all at once.
This book had a lot of elements that all can work separately - werewolves/mates, working on a ranch, task force teams, bit it all kinda meshed together in this story and it works! But most of all, I loved Dylan and Areon mating (although I'm a sucker for romance and would have rather read about them cuddling and lovin' all night long haha) but I enjoyed this! And I could have read a lot more of these two!
This is the first thing I have ever read from this author but I look forward to more, hopefully m/m, stories from her!
This is the second book in a series, but enjoyable as a standalone.
Aeron is a 29 year old, shy gay man living in a rural Welsh village and caring for his chronically ill mother. He has had few positive experiences of his life, but he counts his new job as a farmhand to be one of them. The stable work enables Aeron to save some money for his mother's care. She has multiple sclerosis and a rapidly declining prognosis. Aeron is determined to do a good job, but he's unprepared for his attraction for the big burly farm owner, Dylan Roberts.
Dylan lost his husband, his shifter mate, two years ago when rogue vampires tore his pack to literal shreds. He harbors immense guilt, and lives only to avenge his mate. All Dylan's friends want him to come back to their packs, but he remains isolated, hoping to pull the vamps into a trap. Meeting Aeron is unexpectedly upsetting. He feels an immediate attraction for Aeron, which only frustrates him further. How could he even look at another man? His heartsblood was shed and he vowed to never love again.
Aeron recognizes the need he observes in Dylan--he's so terrifyingly lonely, and Dylan seems the same. He convinces Dylan to have a friendly arrangement, hoping that it might escalate into something more. And, it does, but not in the way Aeron expects. He has no idea that Dylan is a wolf shifter, or that he's now under surveillance by ancient vampires.
Meanwhile Dylan's inner wolf longs to be mated to Aeron--who is inconveniently human. Even if Dylan could confess his secrets to Aeron, it's impossible to believe the beautiful young mane will be willing to change in to a shifter adn leave his home behind.
This was an interesting addition to the shifter genre. Dylan is a kind and conscientious man who fears the possibility of losing another mate. He'd rather shut himself away than try again, but Aeron is fiercer than he'd first seemed. I loved the interaction between Aeron and Dylan. Once the secret is revealed the tension only climbs. The addition of vampires creates a solid bit of drama, and Aeron's mother is also part of all equations. The canon of shifterdom is a little looser here, with less emphasis on the discomfort of shifting, and of turning humans to shifters. Dylan's alter ego, as a renown paranormal investigator--a force for justice as it seems--only bolsters Aeron's interest.
The sexytimes are definitely yummy, and the story wraps with and HEA that includes all the affected parties. It was a well-paced interesting love story that had great side characters, likely ones who had big parts of the first book, and the door is open to another story in the future.

The last time we read Skye Jones was about Kayley Edwards and how she got claimed by mates Luke Johnson and Sean Wallace. That was then. This is now about Dylan and Aeron. On its own, it is an awesome, if not surprising, installment to the Wild Hunters series. Also, it is a fantastic standalone read that kind of took me for a loop. Why? Well, this is really different.
Yes, we have a shifter who lost his mate and is drowning in sorrow. Then Aeron Lombardo comes in the picture and suddenly, Dylan is fighting off his guilty feelings over suddenly being thrust into another mating. One he is not ready for. Aeron though, he is more than ready, especially as for the first time, he feels safe and wanted. Then the secrets Dylan keeps rears its ugly head. The family tree Aeron is from, creeps out from the frames. The vampire that destroyed Dylan's life, is coming for him, his new mate and his mate's family. Who does he call? Luke and Sean and the rest of the gang of course.
So what is so different about this plot that made me give this a high rating? Well, the action scenes, the twists in the plot and the way the whole story ended, is why.
Skye Jones has this knack for telling a story without going uber uber about it. You know what I mean? There is action, there is sex, there is angst, there is drama and best of all, there is an HEA. But the way she reached all those points is what made this a fantastic, if not a bit scary, read.
I would suggest reading this installment and if you missed the first one, link is down there. That one is a menage and we get a good dose of what those three here in Claimed by Desire. We get to think, let me read that again, just to get the full satisfaction, once more, of a good read.

REVIEW New to me author. This book is a M/M Shifter Romance.
Aeron has to take work on a local farm to make ends meet for himself and his mother. He has no idea what he is in for considering he really hasn't done this hard of a labor before. It is suggested by Rhys the old fella who got him the job that he get himself some warmer clothing for this job. Aeron is sent to meet the owner of the ranch. Aeron is worried that the ranch owner will find out he is gay and then fire him. The owner of the ranch is offended that Aeron keeps calling him sir and insists he call him Dylan. Aeron was dumbstruck when he finally gets a good look at the farm owner and he is instantly in lust.
Dylan is still overcoming the death of his family and mate. All done at the hands of Vampires so he does what he can do to make sure it doesn't happen again. Being a shifter Dylan has good hearing and he heard Aeron say something prior to meeting him in the barn. What is Aeron hiding from Dylan?
His farm hand Rhys lets him know that Aeron is gay and worries that this will now cause him to lose his job. When the cat is out of the bag can Dylan save Aeron and his mother? Will Aeron chose a life different from what he has always known?
This is a really good m/m shifter story it does need some editing but overall it's a strong story. And it is book 2 and I have not read book 1 so it's hard to say really where the story goes or has been.
I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review.
Wolves and Vampires, Oh My!!!! The second book!!!!!!!!! WOOT!! This is the second story (as you probably guessed from the #2 beside the title) in the Wild Hunters series, and I highly recommend reading Claimed By Love first. The characters intertwine but the stories are about different couples. I loved the first one, and was very happy to read this one as well.
I didn't think I could love a couple more than the trio in the first book.. but Dylan really pulled at my heart!!! He's soo sexy, and vulnerable, and alpha... RAWR!!! Skye Jones gives us an eclectic group of Hero's to love on.
Could you move on from the love of your life? I don't think I could, at least not easily!!
Skye Jones heart-felt words pull you in to the story. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. It is a sweet, hot, action-packed Journey with Dylan and Aeron, and the healing power of love. We get both Hero's thoughts during the story, and that always appeals to me because I really like to know what both characters are thinking!!! I also really enjoyed the secondary characters. Kate and Rhys were fun, and didn't over-burden the story. I LOVE that we got to see the trio from the first book!!!
The shifter aspect was definitely an added sexiness to the story. When you can visualize everything going on (and wish you were right there!!!!) you know you are in the hands of a great writer! (I want a wolf-shifter of my veryyyyy own!)
This is the type of series that I could read no matter how many books come out. I can't wait to see who gets a story next!!!!
All Dylan Roberts wants is revenge so he resents the intense attraction that blossoms between him and his new farmhand, Aeron Lombardo in this riveting paranormal romance. There was no way I could have put this story down because Dylan caught my interest in the first book as he caught a hold of my heart and I just had to know how things worked out for him and I have to say that the author gave him a mighty fine story and what a great conclusion for all the characters in this story which of course ensured that I can’t wait to read the next Wild Hunters book.
I was not overly impressed by book 1 in the series, but it had some not so bad premise for book 2, so I jumped into it. I should have learned by now not to get my expectations up. What could have been a great angsty read turned quickly into something very cliched with zero character development. Can't believe that I was so relieved to see cameo appearances of characters from book 1. I was rolled my eyes so many times through this book, I think I strained something.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
When I received this book I had no idea it was part of a series. Reading it, I had no problem following the story without reading the 1st book. Wonderful characters and story line. I wanted to keep reading to the end non-stop, I got slightly frustrated when I had to put it down lol. Definitely will be looking for more of this series and more done by this author!
Oh boy do I love a good shapeshifter story, but that is an understatement, in regards to Claimed by Desire, because this was an amazingly fantastic read. Dylan’s sorrow over the loss of his mate practically jumped off the page and more than once I wanted to reach through the pages and hug him. Of course, the way he held Aeron at arms length and tried to pretend he didn’t care about him also made me smack him at times, but since he came to his senses, I guess I can let him slide.
I really enjoyed the slow build to the story, how natural Aeron and Dylan began interacting with one another around the farm. Seeing Dylan’s plans for the farm was interesting as was all the hard work he, Rhys and Aeron put into it. I found myself really liking both Luke and Sean though their conversations with Dylan, it was easy to see the bond that had formed between them and how much they wanted him to move on with his life following the death of his mate.
I also loved the idea of an Alpha being able to have more than one life mate, and that the loss of their mate didn’t ruin their wolf. It’s a great way of allowing them to move forward and giving them hope for the future.
The relationship growing as the danger grew closer was a great way of balancing tender moments with tension. Kate made a wonderful secondary character and Aeron’s love and care for her told more about his character than any other means of describing him could have done. His reaction to seeing Dylan’s wolf for the first time came across as honest and very natural, despite the fact that it might have hurt Dylan’s feelings at first. The level of realism there was a welcome breath of fresh air.
Dylan and Aeron have to work hard for their relationship. It isn’t just fear and doubts getting in the way but a destructive evil in the form of a bloodthirsty vampire. This book had some amazing twists and turns, including the connection between families that is revealed in the latter half of the book. Aeron’s love for Dylan shines through in the way he fights for the relationship, while Dylan’s love comes pouring out when he is forced to act quick in order to protect Aeron.
I hope there is more to come, it sure seems set up to be, these alpha led packs are pretty awesome and I’d love to see them interact more.
Claimed by Desire is the coming together of wolf shifter alpha Dylan Roberts, haunted and still mourning the brutal murder of his mate by vampires, and Aeron Lombardo, a relative innocent despite his nearly thirty years of age. Aeron’s mother has advanced relapsing multiple sclerosis, and he is her sole caretaker, his father having bailed on the scene ages ago and returned to Italy. His maturity is well beyond his years because of the adult caretaker role that he has shouldered most of his life.
Hired to work on Dylan’s farm, Aeron is instantly attracted to the six-foot-four behemoth of a man, while fearful that said man will fire him on the spot if he learns of Aeron’s sexuality, a fear well-founded based on Aeron’s past experience.
For his part, Dylan has absolutely no intention of firing the beautiful man, but his own heavy attraction to Aeron wreaks havoc in Dylan’s brain as it has been just two years since Nikos’ death and Dylan feels strongly that any attraction at all dishonors the memory of his beloved Nikos. Unfortunately, his wolf recognizes in relatively short order that Aeron is theirs, and he pushes Dylan to move forward.
This is my first Skye Jones novel, but it will certainly not be my last. Her writing style is smooth and flowing, her characters have depth, the dialog is well-paced, and the book is riddled with emotion-pulling cues. Dylan’s horror at his own actions after his first sexual encounter with Aeron leaves him sick with guilt and chastising himself, a far cry from the standard “it’s all better now; let’s move on and let the past rest” that is so frequently seen in these situations. It’s much more realistic of what actually happens when you’ve lost someone so precious, and I appreciated that she took the time and the chance to portray it as such.
It is technically a standalone book, but it was abundantly clear that several references would have been greatly enhanced had I previously read the first book in the series. That being said, it is still a solid 4.5 stars and I highly recommend that you give it a try!

Claimed by Desire by author Skye Jones is the second book in the Wild Hunter’s series. I liked the bitter sweet quality to this book. Dylan has lost his mate to vampires. He doesn’t think he can love like that again. He is a good person. But he lives in constant fear that I don’t even think he knows he has. He has a fear of the vampires coming back to kill someone he loves again and he will not be strong enough to stop it. When a new ranch hand Aeron catches his attention he finds his long lost libido has been found again. Could he actually be lucky enough to have two mates in one life time? Or will his fear drive Aeron away? Aeron is a sweet man. He lives with his mom. He supports her. He is really young but responsible. He has a wild streak that Dylan needs in his life. He isn’t scared of hard work and is an all around nice person. I liked how these two found love in this book. I do feel like I missed something by not reading the first book in this series. I think reading them in order is better if you want to understand the finer details of the book. If you just want the love story though you could do this as a standalone. I just wanted to know more about the wars and the vampires. I hope to read many more in this series. I loved this one . The passionate heat is off the charts. The story line left me wanting more of the series in the future.
'Claimed by Desire' was an awesome, paranormal, sexy and very HOT story by Skye Jones where Dylan, a broken wolf because of his mate's tragic death, and Aeron, a human who Dylan hires as one of his farmhands are very strongly attracted to one another. Dylan is obsessed with the fact he would be betraying his lost mate and pushes Aeron away. Dylan has been driven by revenge to get the vampires that destroyed his mate and his pack, keeping isolated in the mountains of Wales. His closest pack brother's in Arms try to convince him that he needs to start living again and Aeron just might be the one. As Aeron keeps pushing Dylan about their attraction, Dylan gives in and their relationship fires up. Dylan still keeps feeling he doesn't want to lose another mate again. The threat of the vampires coming after him becomes real and his wolf brother's come to help fight them. Does Dylan realize what this strong attraction means for Aeron and himself, or does he break it off to keep Aeron and his mother safe? Will Dylan reveal to Aeron who he really is and claim him as his own? Loved the story line, strong, emotional, Hot, and flowed well! The characters were well developed and their personalities added to the story significantly. Highly recommend this one if you like the paranormal.
Okay, I have to admit, out of the series so far, this one is my favorite, and Dylan is why. I’m a sucker for a tortured hero and Dylan is fantastic. He’s broody and very alpha, but overall, a guy with heart. He’s lost his mate and he blames himself, so he can’t get over the death and doesn’t want or think he deserves to be loved again. Which means by the time I’m a couple chapters in, I’m already rooting for him. I want him to find his HEA.
Aeron, on the other hand, is very beta and very much the underdog. One thing I think the author does well is pairing two completely different characters and making them feel as if they complement each other, which is the case here. In the beginning, Aeron has essentially given up his life to take care of his sick mother and he takes on a job at nearby ranch. When he meets larger than life Dylan, he develops a bit of a crush. It was fun watching them dance around each other, watching Dylan feel those first stirrings of desire for someone else.
This was one I sped-read, waiting for that moment when they finally come together. When they did? Holy cow. I think steam rolled out of my Kindle. lol All in all a very sexy, very intense story with an action packed ending. Plus, you get to visit with the characters from book 1. Loved it.
Original review on Molly Lolly Four stars! I really enjoyed this story. I loved how Dylan was so reluctant to start something with Aeron but was helpless to stop his feelings from happening. These two are so wonderful together. You could feel how strong their emotions were very early on. But Dylan’s hurt at losing Nikos was so profound and deep. I liked getting to see Luke, Sean and Kayley again from the first book in the series, along with other pack members. I’m eager to see who the next couple is going to be. I’ve got some guesses but I’ll keep those thoughts to myself for now. I loved the ending and how Dylan and Aeron are wonderfully happy together. I want to know what’s happening with the subplot about vampires and shifters being targeted. But there’s a logical stopping point for that as well. If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you don’t have to worry about missing anything. Just pick up a copy and read!
This was an awesome read. Dylan a wolf shifter loses his mate in a vampire attack.living in a remote place in Wales, Dylan owns a farm. His hired hand is a man named Rhy's. With more help needed Rhy's puts a good word in for Aeron a good friend. When Dylan and Aeron meet things start to happen. This book is a page turner I really didn't want to put it down.A must read.
Another great book from Skye Jones, I went away and took all of her books after reading Wolf at the door and really enjoying it. I now cannot wait for the next book to come out in both this (wild hunter series) & the shifters of the glen series.
