Gia King was more than tired of living under her father’s thumb. The Mafia King turned FBI agent was overly protective of her every move and college was her one and only savior. Going to Auburn University was her dream, and she couldn’t wait to be free. She was going to let her hair down and shuck the good girl appearance for a new side—a darker, sexier, and ten times worse, Gia. She was ready to push the boundaries.

Chase Winchester was a God. No, seriously. Women all across campus sighed heavily when their eyes stumbled across him. He was arrogant, sexy, and he knew it. AU was just another reason for him to spread his feathers and dip his fingers into some prime sorority girls.

Until Gia King came into his life, knocking him right on his ass. She was everything a man would want and yet, somehow, she was off limits. There was no way he could force himself to take her, unless she truthfully wanted him.

College, romance, and two families who were hell bent on being enemies. Can love between these two really transpire or will everyone else have the last say?

Another KU find. This was a quick read. The characters, Chase and Gia, act like they hate each other for the majority of the story, but we discover that thin line between love and hate. They both shed their fears of not being good enough just in time to realize what they want and not letting life pass them by.

5 stars!

Worth the Chase, was amazing, its a spin off of sorts from two of J.L. Beck's series . This is the story of Alzerro and Bree's daughter (Kingpin series) and Mimi and Corey's son (Bittersweet Series). From the very start of this book I was hooked and couldn't put it down.
The main female character Gia is a firecracker, she's sweet and innocent but has a spark to her and isn't afraid to tell you what she thinks.
Chase Winchester, is everything you want in a book boyfriend, he's the sexy frat boy that can have anyone he wants.
Chase and Gia have a love hate relationship, they can't stand one another which makes thier story so intriguing and good to read. This book was funny, shocking, sweet, and steamy. For those that have read The Kingpin Series and The Bittersweet Series you are in for a special treat and you will LOVE IT! But even if you are new to J.L. Beck and this is the first book of hers that you read you will fall in love with these characters. I believe this is J.L. Beck's best book to date!!!

Worth the read :) The story is pretty good, and nice to read. Both characters have their own frame, and there's no need for them to go any way out. Gia King and Chase Winchester are typical college lovers, but J.L. Beck gave them the unique angle. Check it out, it's really good

Worth the Chase is full of giddy moments that are sure to jump start your heart, while spinning you head first into a bittersweet world where the lines of hate and love are blurred.

Chase Winchester is pretentious. A self-assured, arrogant, party throwing a-hole. Or so we thought. Underneath his cockiness is someone with a heart. A heart guarded by self-doubt and a need to truly be wanted.

Gianna King is stubborn. A focused, headstrong, tenacious smart mouth. Or at least that is how she comes off. Underneath her come backs is a girl who believes in love, but when it comes to her personal love life she isn’t so keen on giving her heart over to someone…

Especially NOT the playboy.

After all, she’s heard the rumors. Knows that the only thing Chase Winchester could possibly give her is one night− One night that she’ll gladly indulge in.

Once turns into twice and before you know it neither can deny what lies beneath the hate, BUT that doesn’t mean they won’t try to.

J.L. Beck delivers surprise after surprise in this quick, fast paced read that is easy to get lost in. Worth the Chase will devour you completely and show you that “Sometimes you have to chase what you want.”

I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
5* read.
I was completely gripped from the first chapter and I didn't want it to end, once id started it was completely entrapped till the very last page. There's nothing more I love then a love/hate relationship so this was perfect for me. I fell in love with and connected with the characters straight away and I loved the storyline and writing style from this author. Such a clever way to bring too series together and connect the characters. The only bad thing about this book was that I didn't want it to end, I wanted more of these characters as I completely fell in love with them all especially the sexy twins, yumm.
So this is Gia King and Chase Winchester's story and there's defiantly some big fireworks with these two. Chase is your typical alpha sexy manwhore bad boy and Gia hates him at first but they cant deny their chemistry, and when you put these two in a room fireworks really do fly. I loved these together and throughout this read I really hoped they got their HEA, but you'll have to read it to find out if they do.
I can't wait for Chance's story (Chase's twin brother) and am looking forward to see what happens with him and Taylor.

This was a fast, sweet read. I really enjoyed it. It had me laughing so hard at times. This did play out as I expected but still a good read.
My only issue/ concern/ whatever, is the dad. He was funny, over protective, loving, a FBI agent, but wait.... he used to be a mafia kingpin??? What?!?!?

That was truly weird. Really, I thought it was an ARC mistake, that hadn't been caught yet, but references came up several times, so I'm guessing it's meant to stay. I don't get it, but whatever.
I am hoping there will be a Worth the Chance in the future. I'd love to see more of Chance.

This was a spin-off of two series, which you don't need to read to read this one. It would help you understand Zerro a bit more if you did.

Chase and Gia, what a love hate relationship. I loved how Gia was no holds barred with Chase. Yes, they were both afraid of tier feelings for each other. They loved to push each other's buttons. Chase was a grade A prick at times, he felt used at one point. Yes, he was a manwhore, finally getting bit by the love bug. It bit him hard and he didn't know how to handle it.

Gia and her cousin Taylor are great together. They move into a rental and it is Chase and Chance's house. Let the fireworks begin.

If you are a fan of J.L. Beck's books, you will be happy to see some of all her other characters.

I can't wait to see the story between Chance and Taylor. They will be explosive.

****A copy of Worth The Chase by J.L. Beck was generously provided to me via the author in exchange of honest review.

Wow, it's been a while since the last time I read Bree and Zerro's story. And now I get to read their daughter's love life? Time sure flies real fast. :)

Gia needs to be herself. And that's the reason why she chose to live together with her friend, Taylor, so she can be away from her way-too-overprotective dad. That's when she meet Chase. Sparks are flying, they both hate each other but it seems like they can't run away from one another. But what will happen when Gia starts falling for him?

I enjoyed this book. I think this is my first time reading a new adult romance from Beck. I still can see Beck's signature "I'm gonna make her suffer because I hate and love her at the same time" twist in this book and that's kind of cute, especially when there's no gun shots at the background.

Gia's stubborn girl and so damn unstable. By unstable I mean she could hate Chase with all her might and crave for his touch at the same time and that could be pretty confusing. I enjoyed this book, really, because I always love love-hate relationship plot and Beck's proven before that she can deliver that. But somehow, I feel like I missed a huge part of this book. Because, sure the sparks are there. Gia and Chase's been on each others heels from the very beginning. But what I don't get is Gia's crazy.. Love for Chase. I mean, girl you I don't know, maybe it's just me who doesn't get it but yeah, that's basically that.

Look forward to read Taylor's story because giiiirrrrl I wanna see Chance in action! Whoooop! Thank you again for Miss Beck for the copy. I really appreciate it. :)

This book had potential. I always loved love-hate relationships, when couples fight like cats and dogs. It's just classic. It's a great foreplay. It builds up my interest and attention until the main event or something. So even if sometimes the banter and bicker get annoying, I still stick and wait to find out what's gonna happen between the two. And that is exactly what happened to me when reading this book. I kept waiting for the "main event" but I just got bored to the point that I thought of DNF-ing this book.

Chase and Gia are a mess most parts of the book. Their actions made me shake my head in disapproval. It's just crazy! Both of them are sex-crazed, horny and thirsty for each other. I felt their chemistry - a very sizzling one - but things were kind of fast-paced so I didn't really feel the development between them. All throughout the book, I didn't feel any love or romance. Only lust.

So why I gave this book 2 stars? It's because of, first, Taylor and Chance. They are so cute and from the glimpses that I got of what they are going through, I have to say their story will be intriguing. And Taylor's energy is so... effective. Whenever she is mentioned, my reading mood suddenly lights up. Second, Gia's dad. He was just so funny, cool, and protective. Third, though it annoyed me how Chase and Gia kept hiding their feelings, I understood why they did it. I can totally relate to it. Internal battles can be very frustrating, especially when it comes to wanting to have more or wanting to protect your heart.

If ever J.L. Beck will write a story about Chance and Taylor (or a different heroine), I will still read it despite my low rating for Worth The Chase.

Gia King has grown up and gone to Uni in Auburn. To get the qualifications needed, for her dream job. Branching out on her own, to spend some time away from her protective father.
She just wants to let her hair down and have some fun...

When she meets Chase Winchester, it's instant attraction. He's sexy, arrogant and every girls dream. Everything she could ever want and knows she can't have...

Will Gia give in to her feelings for Chase?

Can he change his playboy ways?

Wow!! This book was amazing J.L.Beck. I laughed, cried and squeezed the life out of my kindle.

Worth The Chase. This book definitely lived up to its title. I absolutely loved this book. It's based on the stubborn and proud couple, Chase and Gia. These two were the epitome of people fighting their attraction based on fear. Here you have Chase who knows he's gorgeous and has a line of women ready to have him in their bed. But what I found interesting was that he felt used and has no idea what his future held for him. Until Gia. Gia is the beautiful, fiery temptation who has Chase wrapped around her finger. I loved her and how her family is revolved around the Mafia. Definitely fell in love with men in her family. But what hooked me the most was the fact that Chase and Gia kept pushing each other away and using hurtful actions to fight the attraction they have always had. It was a delightful moment when they removed their heads out of their rear ends and clicked that they were made for each other. It was amazing watching their story unfold.

Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!

Chase & Gia's story is a sweet, sexy, fun read. The chemistry flies between these two and you can feel it while reading this book. I would totally recommend this one, am glad I read it and can't wait for Chance and Taylor's book to come out next. I really want to learn more about them after getting a glimpse of them in this book. Wrapping things up this was a great, short read, and looking forward for more!

When I was growing up I was the bratty kid that got upset when my brother and sister could go to the store and buy stickers with their names on it. My name wasn't mainstream so they didn't sell stickers with my name on it. As an adult I am still little jealous of other people's names so whenever I find a book with the name Gia in it I have to buy it. Sometimes I don't even read the book, I just have to own it. Having read all of J.L Beck's other books, I know I had to read this one. I absolutely loved this one. I was hooked from beginning to end. I'm not sure how long it was but I didn't want to put it down until I was done.

I so was glad to see that Gia is this story is a very likable character. She's great. She is focused on graduating at the top of her class. She's being tutored by Chance. Chance has a twin Chase. Chase is super sexy and a bit of a manwhore. There is attraction between Chase and Gia. They have this great love hate relationship. I loved their bickering back and forth. We get both Gia and Chase's POVs, which is awesome because we get to read what both of them are thinking. There are some funny parts, like when Chase meets Gia's Dad.

This is a great read and I can't wait to read more in this series.

I am a big fan of J.L. Beck, especially the Kingpin series. So when I heard that there was going to be a story written about Alzerro and Bree King's daughter Gia, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Gia is sexy, witty and smart. Working hard to graduate at the top of her class, she has no time for a social life or allow her attraction for cocky, man whore Chase Winchester to distract her. Well, easier said than done since she can't get away from Chase. Not only is her tutor Chance Chase's twin brother, but the basement apartment she is renting also belongs to the Winchester family.
Chase can't seam to get Gia out of his head. She is the forbidden fruit that temps him and consumes his every thought. A night of drinking and bickering lands Gia in Chase's bed and each in the others hearts. Both denying what they shared could be more, they go back to their love/hate relationship. BUT, how long can they resist the pull? Will Chase and Gia give into temptations? Can they be more?
J.L Beck did an amazing job bringing to life this light hearted love story. I loved watching Chase and Gia's romance grow and the insecurities and strength they both brought forth. Great job Josi!

Sweet Romance

J.L. Beck has written a great romance. This is the first time I have read one of her books so I did not know anything of the series it spins off from. However, not knowing the other series did not take away anything from this book. I am giving this book a 3.9 due to some editing that has me in a tizzy (those of you that have read my reviews know I can be a b**** about this). I am also taking a bit away for reasons you will read below. Don't get me wrong, this is a book worth reading, I am just a not picking, particular reader and some things bug me that I cannot let go.

Within the first chapters the storyline felt forced, like the animosity was being overdone and his arrogance was I'll fitting. After those chapters though, the storyline came together. It was a case of his reputation making him undesirable and her being too good for him. The characters were after a point, well developed and bring you into the story just to see what happens with them. The main characters' personalities were up and down, but it did not take away from the book. I did keep wondering if Gia was pregnant though, with how she went from a ball buster to a whiney, crying constantly girl. I also never saw Chase as an arrogant man, it just didn't read that way. I saw him as a man with a past that didn't know how to move on from it.

Overall, the story came together even if the characters were not what they started out as. There were times I wanted too throat punch someone too, but it wasn't Chase.

Keep Writing

This book is a NA contemporary romance. I assumed it was a bad boy romance but the story does not come across that way. There are sexually explicit scenes, so if this is not to your liking then look up clean romance. Do not leave a bad review because you are a prude.

This book was very unique and cleverly wrote. You could tell the author had really planned this story out very well as it could if be one complicated reading it. However the author has once again showed everyone how talented she is and how every book that you read of hers is brilliant and a original story every time.
This book was sort of a spin off as it was based around the kids of the of Bree and Alzerro!s daughter Gia from Kingpin Series and Mimi and Corey's son Chase from Bittersweet series.
I love both series so I loved that the author put the 2 series together and gave us a real love/hate story between the characters. Finding out how both of the children were like was interesting. I wanted to no if they were anything like their parents and if they wasn't what was their personalities like.
Gia was a girl who put on a hard out side. She was rude, stubborn and very head strong. However once you broke through her hard outer shell she was a really nice, sensible and amazing girl.
Chase is your typical 'I love to party' man whore who is just up for a good time and a good time with the ladies too. He's very arrogant and rude. All he wants to do is have a good time and no responsibilities.
He is the same as Gia though. He is a good guy underneath all the layers and once he lets people in. He's guarded his heart but when he opens it he becomes a great character.
I loved the depth the author put in to the characters. She made them very interesting and people you could easily connect with and enjoy reading about.
The story was very fast paced but I couldn't put the book down. I read it non stop until I had finished. This is coming a habit for when I read this authors books. Lol
I'd highly recommend this book and all the authors books as they great.

This was a perfect Sunday read !! Just enough to keep me hooked yet light hearted enough to not add to the stress of the weekend ending !! I have enjoyed this author's work spanning over a couple different genres and this story combined two families from two different series and I very much enjoyed seeing how their families grew.

Gia and Chase want the same things yet neither wants to admit it. One night makes that more apparent than either would have thought. So now what do they do , continue to torture each other quietly of course. As fate would have it this little clan of twins and cousins is thrown together and once that happens things really heat up. Chase and his twin Chance seem to be polar opposites yet we see they are both stubborn when it comes to admitting their feelings. We have a great set up for Chance's story and I enjoyed his role here. Gia and Taylor are not only tackling college together but also the Winchester boys !! There was minimal drama for Gia and Chase and even some of that drama was comical. OMG seeing Zerro play overprotective daddy to his adult daughter was so sweet !! He has come a long way and Gia is so much like him ! Chase may have come off as the arrogant bad boy but wow he was very heartfelt and amazing. His note , the words and his actions WOW. I loved his protective side and I also loved his dirty talking side. He had it all going for him and it was extremely HOT !! This story comes together and wraps up with a nice bow to leave you with happy feelings and desire to read about Chance and Taylor.

I loved how J.L. Beck still carried on the passion in this book that her Kingpin series had. Worth the Chase was an amazing read. What I loved most about this book is how Gia and Chase have so much in common. They both have parents who are so in love and who have been through so much to find there happiness. I also loved how the writer kept in all our favorite characters from the Kingpin series. Of course Gia father being Alzerro King who used to be a kingpin now turned FBI agent is still the number one badass, and He of course lets Chase know all that info about him and even threats him from the beginning that if he hurts his daughter that he is going to kill him and bury him i is backyard. Bree her mother is still the same sweet loving person who still holds the family together and understands everything her daughter is struggling with. When it comes to understanding her feeling for Chase. If you love the Kingpin series then you are differently going to love this book. If you have not read it buy it now!! I received this book in an ARC in exchange for an honest review. And once again J.L. Beck did it again she got me hooked on another series of hers. I cannot wait for the next book to this series. Thank you so much for another wonderful read J.L. Beck.

Gia is trying to study for her test in Advanced Biology class that is happening that first week, she is being tutored by Chance and she can't stop staring at Chase. Gia had to fight to get her chance to go to college. Gia has to start looking for a new apartment for her and her best friend Taylor. It's been three years since Gia has seen Taylor and it's really been hard since they grew up together. Taylor calls and says that she has found a place for them to rent and Gia is happy.
Gia is a Senior at Auburn University, she can't stand Chase, her father is in the FBI. Chase doesn't think that he is good enough for Gia, Chance's twin, goes to Auburn University and he is studying carpentry. Chance is Chase's twin, is the more mature one and the more responsible one. Taylor is Gia's best friend, she is a freshman at Auburn University, she is a very nice person. Devon is Gia's uncle and Taylor's father. He is very protective, he is also an FBI agent.
This book is the first book in the Worth it Series. This book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I can't wait for the next book to come out in this series. JL Beck is an amazing author. I wish I could give this book more then 5 stars

5 Amazing Stars!

***ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review***

Gia is concentrating on college so she can graduate with top honors. However she can’t keep her eyes or thoughts off of Chase. Chase wants a taste of Gia but knows he should stay away from her. They are constantly on each other’s nerves but the sexual tension between them is too much to handle.

The characters in this story were great. There was times that they had me laughing so hard. Even though they may not be right for each other their feelings are strong. Chase is an alpha male however I loved how he struggled with his feelings for Gia. Gia doesn’t want to take the chance of having her heart broken but wants to be with Chase. I loved how both Gia and Chase both relied on their families to help them with their problems. The secondary characters in this book were all great. Some of the things that the wives said to their husbands will have you laughing so hard.

I have not read any books in the bittersweet series but did not feel like I was lost. If you want a great read with characters you can relate too, steamy scenes, romance, laughter, family and some angst then I highly recommend this read.

Another hit for J.L. Beck! Every book keeps getting better, if possible, and Worth the Chase is really showing great versatility with her writing.

Gia King is finally living out from under her fathers thumb. He's an ex mafia boss turned FBI Agent, that is a bit over protected. She's going to college at Auburn University, and feeling free. Chase Winchester is the God of campus. He is super hot, arrogant, and he totally knows it. Never does he get together with any of the women more than once, until he and Gia hook up. Now neither of them can stay away from each other as the connection is too strong. Will Gia and Chase finally admit that they are Worth the Chase.

I love this author's writing, so I couldn't get enough of this story. The storyline is well written, fast paced, and flows smoothly. I loved the well placed humor of the families, and getting to see Zerro and the boys settled down as family men. Gia and Chase's chemistry flew out of my kindle, and their sexy scenes are SMOKIN panty melting goodness. I always have only one complaint with the talented J.L. Beck, and that's her books aren't long enough, because I never want them to end. So I happily recommend Worth the Chase HIGHLY!

Ah! Such a fantastic read, as I’ve come to expect from JL Beck! I’m a big fan of the kingpin series and an even bigger fan of the bittersweet series so my excitement level was near a 10 with the start of this book and JL Beck definitely does not disappoint. I laughed out loud from the very first page, I just love this authors writing, flow, and character development. This series is a crossover from the two original series centering around Alzerro’s daughter from the kingpin series and Corey’s son from the Bittersweet series.

Gia King is ready to get out and experience life away from her father’s watchful eyes, so she packs up and heads for Auburn University. Chase Winchester is Auburn’s notorious playboy with an attitude to match. The attraction between the two is immediate but Gia isn’t willing to have a one night stand and doesn’t think that Chase would possibly be interested in more… when Gia’s father catches them in a compromising position and Gia blurts that Chase is her boyfriend things get really interesting.

I really enjoyed the passion and emotion written into this book. It’s definitely one you won’t want to put down one you’ve started reading. I can’t wait for the next installment. Bravo JL Beck!

I was given a ARC of Worth the Chase by J.L. Beck for an honest review. I have read all of Josi's books and with each one, they get better and better. She can go from a high school romance to College to a dark romance and back to a college story and some how she manages to still write a fantastic books. In the end, it doesn't matter how old the characters are in her books, her books are just fantastic books. You don't need to read the Kingpin series to love this book, but I would highly recommend that you do. It will give you an idea of who everyone is. Also its a freaking awesome series. ok enough about previous books. lets get to Worth the Chase. Once I started reading Worth the Chase I could not put it down, I needed to know what would happen next. I loved this book. I look forward to the next book in the series as well as anything she writes. Thanks again for the chance to read and review your book. I don't give spoilers, I would rather tell you that I loved the book and that you should go and just one click it, you will not regret it. Happy reading!!! Another 5 star read from J.L. Beck!!!
