Crazy Love #2

Kissing Her Crazy

Rate this book
Sometimes a kiss is so much more...

Single mom Lena Oserkowski just wants to relax at the 5-star resort where her brother is getting married. Oh, and figure out how to make one of her businesses successful enough to support her son. Her focus is thrown out of whack when Elliot Debusshere, twin brother of her new sister-in-law, swims to her rescue at the hotel pool.

Elliot is disillusioned with his wealthy, playboy lifestyle and wants nothing more than to bring some meaning and purpose to the charity he runs. When he rescues Lena from a case of heat exhaustion and meets her son Tyler, he has no idea the answer to his problems might have just fallen in his lap. Literally.

With Lena's ideas and Elliot's know-how, they might just be able to make their ventures a success. Except pleasure has a sneaky way of mixing with their business, leaving both dazed and confused. Charming as he is, Elliot isn't father material. And there's no room for a single mom and her child in his life. While the attraction between them isn't easily squashed, there's no telling the lengths his family will go to prevent a relationship.

USA Today bestselling author Kira Archer lives in Pennsylvania with her hubs and two kids. And 3 ridiculous cats. She's one of those people who laughs at inappropriate moments (especially overly emotional occasions like weddings or funerals), and she has an insanely overactive imagination which is great when she's writing but not so great when she's shutting all the lights off at night and then has to go up the stairs. She has a PhD in Procrastination (or would if there was such a thing and there soooo should be because she's seriously at expert level here). And if she's not writing, she's reading, or thinking about reading or writing. And running her kids around because they are busy and she's the taxi driver. She also writes historical romances as Michelle McLean.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC and NetGalley.)

This was an okay adult contemporary romance, but I lost interest.

I felt sorry for Elliot a bit because his parents treated him like dirt, but I didn’t feel like I could really connect with the characters in this book. Lena actually irritated me though, the way she kept lecturing Elliot on what Tyler was and wasn’t allowed to eat really did my head in. Okay, you can’t let kids live on chocolate, but making him spit out cookies, and lecturing other people is just taking it way too far.

The storyline in this was about the romance between Elliot and Lena, and there were a couple of sex scenes, but I didn’t really like them. I also didn’t like the idea of

The ending to this was fairly happy, but I just wasn’t the biggest fan of this book.

There are many themes in our books and one of the most real seems to be when a character has been pigeonholed as one way... and then they try to show they are more than what others have pegged them for...This was an easy sweet with a dash of very sexy story about two people who fight those demons. They are from different "worlds" but when push comes to shove....they fit together perfectly.

We have a single mom with a wonderful son, a very hot playboy who is at the place in his life where he wants to do more.... be more and they both are related by the upcoming marriage of her brother to his twin sister. It is a destination wedding with all events for a week taking place.

We have front row center on these two and there is more than just the fluff and heat. If you want to be in a tropical location enjoying a week of two people discovering they might have all the elements to make a go of something wonderful, then take a moment and enjoy the book.

Lena is a single mom on vacation for her brother's wedding. While she's at the pool, she meets the very handsome and rich Elliot. Elliot is Lena's soon-to-be sister-in-law's brother. Elliot is kind of a playboy but he's tired of that lifestyle. He wants to do something with his life and to have a purpose. He has no idea that just by meeting Lena and her son Tyler, he'll find the purpose he was looking for.

I really enjoyed this fun and light read. Elliot was adorable with Tyler and I loved the time they spent together. There were also a couple steamy scenes and a few laughs. This is the perfect story if you're looking for a good single parent romance!

My advice is simple, don’t bother reading my review - just go and get yourself a copy of this delightful romance to escape into!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series - Driving her Crazy - and this one was even better! The setting is idyllic - a luscious island with warm seas, beautiful beaches, superb scenery, in fact the ideal location for a wedding! The two stars of the previous book are there to marry and, amongst the wedding guests, are the stars of this story - their siblings - the bride’s twin brother (Elliot Debusshere) and the groom’s sister (Lena Oserkowski)…..

Elliot is a unhappy with his current playboy lifestyle and wants to make a difference in the world. He’s working to promote the family charity but is feeling hampered by his parents’ attitudes and expectations. He has ideas but his parents always ridicule them and block his efforts.

Lena is a single Mum and has her delightful young son, Tyler, with her. She’s looking forward to relaxing in the luxurious resort but there’s water everywhere and, after a childhood accident, she has a real phobia about large areas of water - like the pools or sea. She first meet Elliot whilst having a panic attack and suffering so badly from heat exhaustion that she passes out! He’s never dealt with children himself but finds himself inexplicably attracted to both Lena and her son. Lena is wary but the attraction between them is mutual. With his parents denigrating Lena and the wedding taking place in a few days, will love find a way or will family and time split them up before they have a chance to explore the possibility of having a HEA together?

This is a well told tale where attitudes, expectations, family and hopes for the future all play significant roles and are amended as the characters get to know each other. It is a story of striving to be ‘better’, daring to try to achieve and finding the person to motivate you to be more. As I said originally, don’t read this review, go read this lovely book!

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too for provided an ARC for me to read in exchange for this, my honest review.

He rescues her from having to jump in the pool to pull out her son, Tyler. It's the first time Lena and Elliot are meeting and there's an instant attraction. Lena has heard plenty about Elliot's wild ways, since he's her soon to be sister-in-law's brother. She knows to stay away from him but it's very hard since her son, Tyler, has taken an instant liking to him. Not only that but Elliot wants to spend time with her and won't seem to give up. When he finally gets her alone he asks for her help and they seem the make a great team. She helps him with his family's charity and he'll help her get one of her ideas off the ground. It's only been a few days but they can't seem to stay away from each other. Lena doesn't do flings but they're at a tropical resort and sexual tension is at an all time high. She gives into temptation and dear lord is it hot! One night doesn't seem to be enough and soon, too soon, feelings become involved. The only problem is that in a few days they'll both be going back to their regular lives.

Lena is great! Walking around with her fanny pack and homemade concoctions, not caring what anyone thinks of it. Elliot is hot! And sexy! He's so adorable while initially trying to interact with six year old, Tyler. He definitely has no idea what he's doing when it comes to kids but tries his hardest because isn't that one of the ways into a woman's heart? Tyler reminds me of my nephew. Always trying to get away with things that he isn't normally allowed to do, or eat! Lena and Elliot are so different yet come together beautifully. This is very cute and short read, with plenty of sexy time to spice things up.

HEA:

This was another cute read in this series. I enjoyed the story very much and I can't tell you how much I loved that there is very little drama AND both MCs past sex life is not focused on AT ALL. Everyone has a past and that's fine, I just don't want to hear about it. Elliott was definitely more into the ladies than Oz from book 1, but it didn't bother me because it wasn't in my face at all. It is only mentioned in the very beginning because Elliott is thinking how he is tried of that crap and he is ready for something different and more fulfilling. He is ready for a real girlfriend.

This was a very sweet story and I enjoyed little Tyler too. I only rated it 4 stars because I felt like I wanted a little more. We did get to see a little into the future, but I'd love to see more! :D

Overall - this is the second book I enjoyed by this author and I like her writing style and that she doesn't hit on any of my triggers. I would definitely recommend this to others and would love to read more from her in the future.

When a wealthy playboy who is trying to reform meets a single mother, sparks fly in this cute little romance.

Here’s what’s going on. Elliot is tired of living the playboy lifestyle. When he aids a single mother, who just so happens to be his twin sisters soon-to-be sister-in-law, he can’t seem to get Lena or her son Tyler out of his head. Even though his life isn’t child-friendly and he doesn’t really have room for a relationship, he finds himself growing closer to Lena and her son.

All Lena wanted to do was relax at the 5-star resort, keep her son out of trouble, and try to figure out how to turn one of her many ideas into a successful business that will allow her to provide for Tyler. Although her plans are thrown out of whack when Elliot comes to her aid. While she’s attracted to Elliot—and her son’s been sticking to him like glue—she’s not sure she wants to get too involved with him given his playboy reputation.

Yet, there’s more to Elliot than meets the eye and when he asks for her help to reform his family’s charity, Lena starts to wonder if Elliot could truly settle down.

Kissing Her Crazy was such a feel good book. I could not put it down and read it in just a little over two hours.

Elliot was likable from the start. He may have earned his reputation as a playboy but he’s ready and willing to transform. The opening scene where he brushes off the woman flirting with him to rescue Tyler and Lena proves he’s ready to grow up. Then, when Lena faints, it’s up to him to take care of Tyler and it was fun watching him figure out what to do with kid. I also liked that he was ready to stand up against his parents.

I struggled with Lena a bit at the start. I know she’s terrified of the water but when your kid refuses to come out of the kiddie pool, you don’t just stand there yelling at him to come out, you put on your big girl panties and go get him out of the water. Other than that little blip, I liked Lena. She’s a good mother but she feels as though she’s failing because—even though she’s working—she’s not been able to fully develop one of her ideas to bring in enough income to move from her brother’s house. When Elliot walks into her life, she knows she’s attracted to him but she’s a little standoffish because she doesn’t want to do anything that will hurt her son.

The chemistry between Elliot and Lena was strong from the start and grew stronger as the plot progressed. Both had some issues that they needed to overcome and the issues were true-to-life issues that had to be worked out. I loved that they didn’t immediately jump into bed, they got to know each other and get comfortable around each other. Although when they decided to have some sexy fun time, it was smoking hot.

One thing I liked about this book was watching Elliot and Tyler form a relationship. It was interesting watching Elliot, who had never been around children, navigate the dos and don’ts of taking care of a child.

Overall, it was so easy to fall in love with Kissing Her Crazy. The characters were engaging, the plot was steady and entertaining, and I was rooting for both Elliot and Lena to succeed in love and in life. If you’re looking for a light weekend read, this is the book for you.

Kissing Her Crazy was a sweet, heartwarming read.

I enjoyed watching Elliot and Lena fall in love, they were both fun and likable characters.
Lena's little boy Tyler was a hoot, loved watching Elliot connect with him. They made me laugh and swoon with some of their interactions.

This was a well written story with relatable and lovable characters that grab your interest from the start and leave you with a huge smile on your face.
Loved the epilogue =)

While Lena and Elliot's story is very sweet, it is also a case of 'been there...done that'.

Overwrought, single, attractive, young, and very sexually frustrated mother.

Plus...

Privileged, charming, dissatisfied, attractive, and very rich man.

Plus...

Precocious, rambunctious, and adorably irresistible child.

Plus...

Romantic tropical setting.

Plus...

Learning curve. (man and child)

Plus...

Great sex!

Equal

This book.

The fact that the leading lady and her gent are brother and sister-in-law.

Ummmmmm...

So things get a little complex at large family gatherings.
Who cares!
And speaking of large family gatherings...
Let's not forget the reason that we are all gathered here in the first place.
His sister's and her brother's WEDDING!

This book is very sweet, and the premise is one that has been done.
The way that it is done in this instance however, is a bit weird.
In short, this is a very fluffy and sweet romance that you can read in one sitting,
with a curve-ball or two thrown in for much needed shock value.

This was just an okay contemporary romance story for me. Like my last review, the "romance" part of this book felt rushed. I felt that this book really lacked any emotional growth/development from Lena and Elliot. And I wasn't the biggest fan of Lena Oserkowski. She felt really judgmental of Elliot to me. Plus she was always lecturing (and making him feel bad) him about letting her son swim, playing video games, eating junk food, etc. I mean, I understand all that but 1) he doesn't have kids, so he doesn't know and 2) YOU ARE ON VACATION, let him have some fun (especially if people are offering to help you!!).

I felt bad of Elliot's relationship with his parents. They are rich, snobby a**holes.

“You’re crazy, you know that?” she said.
He laughed. “Yeah, but it makes life a lot more fun.”

As I’ve come to expect from Kira Archer, Kissing Her Crazy is a sweet, sexy, thoroughly enjoyable and highly engaging read.

I missed it the first time around—in fact, the first book I ever read by this author was Loving Her Crazy, which comes after this one in the Crazy Love series—but I’m happy to have remedied that. Because Elliot and Lena’s story had so many of the things I like about romance. (Plus, a peek at Iris and her cowboy, which was was fun, since I loved Loving Her Crazy.)

Crazy

Kissing Her Crazy was fun and flirty and, though it had a couple of more emotional moments that I related to as a mother, it was also (mostly) light-hearted. An easy, relaxing escape. Not only that, it had swoony moments between Elliot and Tyler, Lena’s little boy, which seemed to delight in making my ovaries scream. I do love a man who's good with kids . . .

To that end, this book never took itself too seriously. It was quick and cute and unabashedly feel good despite those aforementioned hints of something deeper. And honestly, since feeling good is one of my main reasons for loving this genre, it just make me like Kissing Her Crazy all the more. After all, when I read, I want smiles—and Ms. Archer delivered them here.

Kissed

Readily. So, while the ending was, perhaps, a wee bit short and rushed, this book more than made up for it by being just the right kind of read—by just the right author.

“I have never been kissed like that in my life. My knees went weak. I mean, honest-to-God weak. I even got light headed.”

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

About 45% through the book I thought this was a book that I could recommend to my mother-in-law - sweet, romantic, cute kid and no sex. Then we had a few sex scenes ... and then it went back to sweet. So, a sex sandwich if you will. Maybe I'm off my pace a little because I have made similar complaints about other books. Don't get me wrong I don't have anything against the sexy, but I kind of expect the book to flag its intentions from close to the start rather than suddenly introduce it halfway through the novel. It's almost as though an editor said, "Yeah, I like it but it needs more sex, just a few scenes in a giant bath tub!".

But other than that niggle, this was a sweet romantic book. Lena is a single-mother looking to start a business and help her get out of her brother's house. Her brother Oz is marrying Cher. Cher's twin Elliot is a bit of a playboy, he works for his parents' charitable foundation but lately he feels as though he doesn't really do anything. The foundation distributes lots of money to lots of charities but there is no continuity and Elliot has begun to feel that it is ineffective but his parents won't listen to his ideas - very much a pat on the head and "yes dear, that's nice, now run along" mentality.

Lena is mortally afraid of water, having nearly drowned as a child so the novel opens with Lena terrified at the exotic holiday resort where the family are staying prior to Oz and Cher's wedding whilst her son frolics in one of the hotel pools. Elliot sees her distress and rescues her son (who was never in any danger other than in Lena's imagination). But the stress causes Lena to faint.

Both Lena and Elliot have their own insecurities but they find that she has lots of business ideas - but no capital or contacts, he has lots of capital and contacts but no ideas. Together they brain-storm ways in which they could improve the foundation. But can their mutual attraction develop into something else? They lives a thousand miles apart and can a man who shuns commitment want a relationship with a single mother? Can Lena trust her heart and her child to a man again?

I would definitely want to read other books in this series - I got the impression that Oz and Cher's book may have preceded this one.

Ah! I enjoyed this book SO much! Single, harried mom of the most precocious and adorable little boy meets hot, unattached playboy? Yes, please! I loved Lena, with her harebrained ideas that are just on the brink of pure brilliance, and her deep devotion to her son. She's the perfect leading lady- smart, sweet, and endearing. And then we have Elliot...holy heck. This guy is all sorts of hot, and to make him even more lovable, he's got a heart of gold. He might not know exactly how to handle Lena's son Tyler, but every time those two are in a scene together, my heart melted. Elliot totally steals the show!

This is book about two flawed people trying to make the most for themselves, and set in an exotic destination wedding setting, they are able to find common ground and fall in love in the most spectacular of fashions. I loved that Elliot makes Lena more confident and Lena gives Elliot the courage to face his parents. These are two love interests who, on the surface have nothing in common, yet make each other better people with every interaction.

Plus- as if a totally sweet romance wasn't enough, the sexy scenes in this book are smoking hot. These two characters have instant chemistry, and it plays out in the best way in the bedroom. (That hot tub scene- where Lena faces a fear and gets it on all in one fell swoop? Pure gold!) One of my favorite moments between Elliot and Lena is when they get caught kissing in front of the daycare window. Totally sweet, and evidence that they just aren't going to be able to keep their hands off of each other.

I didn't realize that there was a first book in this series, DRIVING HER CRAZY that features the couple that is getting married in this book, but I'll definitely read that next. I loved them in this book as dynamic secondary characters and can't wait to see how they get to their own HEA!

Kira Archer has given us the most adorable romance in KISSING HER CRAZY, with just the right amount of heat. Romance lovers are going to eat this book right up!

Aaah! This book is an absolute feel-good one. I didn't know what to expect from reading this other than I loved the blurb and I think the cover is good. Kissing Her Crazy is my first Kira Archer read and after this one, it looks like I have a new go-to author for quick, cute, romance stories. And oh, the cover makes perfect sense, flip flops and all, after you finish reading Elliot and Lena's story.

I highly recommend this for a quick afternoon read while you're relaxing on your porch, your pool, or wherever your spot is. Elliot, Lena, and Tyler put a smile on my face. I enjoyed Elliot's interactions with Tyler and I liked how persistent he was with Lena. Their attraction for each other was obvious but how Elliot proved to Lena that what they could have and build together was worth it is such a sweet part of the story. But like all love story, they also faced challenges, what's good about it was that it didn't drag on. They had doubts, but they faced it together and stood up for their relationship, Elliot especially. I love a guy who can stand up for love!

Oh WOW. I loved this story which is a follow up to DRIVING HER CRAZY. I enjoyed the romance between the MC and the little boy in the story is GOLD!—but I am sure you are wondering why I liked it…

This is book about two people who have made mistakes and aren’t perfect. Yet they try to be and still aren’t picture perfect –They come to a beautiful location to see their respective siblings get married and find that they have a lot things in common with each other and that’s when the sparks happen and the chemistry is off the charts—Lena( who is the groom’s sister) and her son are so sweet and full of life come there to support her brother and run into Elliot ( the bride’s brother). He is at a crossroads in his life. His parents aren’t super supportive and he is trying to be mister perfect but cant. He is miserable and wants to do his own thing. Enter Lena who is exactly what he needs— Here is the whirlwind, exciting and passionate beach romance that I love. There is some twists to this story and at times emotional turns but the HEA is worth it. I loved this story and cannot wait for book 3 to come out. I really disliked Elliot’s parents but Elliot’s sister (who we met in book1) is awesome and Lena’s brother( the groom- who , too, we met in book 1- is just as great. I loved this story for its message that we do not have to be perfect, just strive to find happiness in what makes US happy. Great message.

This is the second book in the series. Although I liked the first book I thought this book was written a little better.

Lena is at a resort for her brothers wedding and she wants to have a good time. Since nearly drowning when she was younger bodies of water freak her out. While trying to get her son out of the water she has a panic attack and Elliot helps her.

Elliot is getting bored with his usual type of women but when he sees Lena he knows there is something about her. After he ends up helping her from her panic attack and passing out he is dying to see her again. The chances are good since his sister is marrying Lenas brother.

I liked these two together because they were so different. Lena is a single mom who wants to start her own business to stand on her own two feet. Elliot on the other hand used to party and has a lot of money from running his family's charity. It's like night and day between these two.

They share a mutual attraction but Lena is worried about how her son getting too attached to Elliot. Even though these two are only together for a short time I couldn't help but enjoy the journey they took. You could see how they went from being attracted to friends to lovers and then falling in love.

The writing was smooth to read and the story was fast but not boring. Although the story was short, I didn't feel cheated while reading.

I can't wait to read more from this author.

If you are looking for something light, sweet, and good this may be the book for you. If you are looking for something more complicated with a bigger plot twist look somewhere else.

I wanted a sweet, funny, sexy and with a little bit of emotion story and this is what I got from Kissing Her Crazy.

I enjoyed this book a lot even though it was predictable. I loved the characters and my favorite of them all was definitely Tyler. That kid was awesome.

Elliot was sexy, funny, charming and rich and in the other hand we have Lena who is an strong, young and smart single mother not soo rich.

When I wrote before that the book was predictable it was in this aspect,we have the love story about the rich guy and the not rich girl. They don't go and immediately fall in love which I loved. There was attraction from the start and little by little both of them realize they actually cared for each other.

Like I said before it was a light read that enjoyed even though I haven't read Driving Her Crazy that is book #1 about both Elliot and Lena sister and brother. So I think it is save to say you could read this as an stand-alone, but if you can read Driving Her Crazy first.. do it.

Fun, fast-paced romance that is both sweet and deliciously steamy.

I'm so glad that we have Lena and Elliot's story! From the beginning of Driving her Crazy I've wanted Lena to find someone...She is so strong and has such a creative mind. She is the type of woman I admire in real life despite her crippling fear. Elliot, the perpetual man-child with a heart of gold, is soooo sexy and sweet. The type of guy to make your heart beat a little faster and sigh just reading about him helping a panicking mom reconnect with her little boy. I really like how her son, Tyler, was made a central part of the story. And EVERYTHING that he says is spot on for a child his age. Mine are right at that age and I swear everything that Lena says to him and his actions are things I have said or witnessed, much to my chagrin LOL

Like Driving Her Crazy, this book takes place in a very confined location which helps spur the heat and attraction. Although you would typically think such a whirlwind romance isn't possible, the limited location made it all entirely possible in my mind. Now only if I can get stuck on a resort island with an insanely handsome, intelligent man who loves kids...

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. "Kissing Her Crazy" by Kira Archer is the second book in the "Crazy Love" series. The book can be read as a standalone. If you read the first book, you will have a better understanding of all the characters. This is Lena and Elliot's story. Elliott has the reputation of a playboy but he is really attracted to Lena. Lena is attracted to him too but her son has to be her top priority. They both have trust and confidence issues. Also, to complicate things further Lena's brother is marrying Elliott's sister. Will they be able to ignore the attraction and chemistry between them? I loved how Elliott and Lena's characters interacted with each other. The author does a great job of including humor in her stories as well as great chemistry. Elliott and Lena's relationship was really sweet and the chemistry between them was intense. FYI, contains mature content. If you love romance, humor, and HEA, then this book and series is for you.

2-1/2 stars.

Kissing Her Crazy was a sweet read with a fun setting and a predictable plot. The summary for this is exactly what happens here. Lena and Elliot had okay chemistry and sort of instalove, though he wasn't all in at first, being a playboy and all. It doesn't take him long, though. I liked Lena and Elliot's relationship and thought Tyler was adorbs.

A good choice for contemporary romance fans, Kissing Her Crazy might not have an original storyline, but the romance and fun characters make up for it.

I loved Elliot in the first book and was really excited to get his story this time around. I still like Elliot and think that he and Lena make a good couple, but I just never fell completely in love with their story. It felt rushed to me. I didn't even mind how quickly they fell for each other. It was the little things that happened along the way seemed a bit glossed over. I would have liked a little more time spent on their brainstorming and the actual presentation to his parents for the charity project he wanted to expand on. I would have liked to see them interacting with Oz and Cher more as well. I think if the book had just been a little longer I would have enjoyed it more.

Adored this book! The chemistry between Lena and Elliott was great and add in Lena's son Tyler and his and Elliott's interactions and you can't help but smile. Elliott's a bit disenchanted with his life right now but the growing relationship with Lena has everything coming into focus for him. Lena is convinced Elliott isn't great father material and the fact that his parents seem to dislike her...a lot, has her ready to flee.

This is a fantastic story and really shows that with love in your life, anything is possible. I highly recommend this one.

Bringing back Oz and Cher's siblings, Ms. Archer takes us in a tale of Lena and Elliot.
Elliot helps Lena overcome her fears and losen up as Lena helps Elliot grow up and get organized. this was a fun whirlwind romance where over the course of a week a strong bond is developed. I love Lena and Elliot each having their own quirks.
I'd still like to take a hit out on Elliot and Cher's parents as I think they are horrible, but they keep the story moving.
easy short read for a nice afternoon!

This book is amazing! It will have you laughing one minute and needing a cold shower the next. The chemistry between Lenny and Elliott is hot... These two are so different yet together are perfect for each other. Then with the little man, Tyler... well who doesn't love a guy who is amazing with kids. A must read in my book.

This was a quick read once I sat down and actually got it read. It was a solid romance but there were times when it was slow. Still, solid read.

What a great story this is from Kira. I loved it the first time I read it, I loved it even more this time.
This is Elliot and Lena's story. Lena is Oz's sister and he's marrying Elliot's sister. They've gone off to an island in the Caribbean and the book opens with Lena standing ankle deep in a pool while her 6 year old son refuses to get out of the pool. Lena has a horrific fear of water. When Elliot first hears her yelling at Tyler to come out of the water, he gets up to go help. What starts as begging, yelling and pleading turns into a panic attack, Elliot gets in the pool with Tyler and makes a friend for life and as they get out, Lena blacks out. Elliot being the good man he is and has everything under control, carries Lena to his over sizes bungalow, lets Lena sleep after calling for the resort Dr just to have her checked and realizes he has no idea what to do with a 6 year old. Feed them sugar, snacks and let them play x-box he decides. He and Tyler enjoy the afternoon while Lena sleeps and when she wakes up, she's back to all business. She and Tyler live with Oz and his soon to be wife Cher, there's nothing more than Lena wants to get her own place and have some sort of business or success.
Cher and Elliot are the black sheep twins of the family. Their parents are nasty snobs and Cher broke free first, with the help of Oz, moving away and starting a clothing store that helps women who are getting back on their feet dress for work etc. She's done a great job and done so well. Oz is a mechanic. Lena has a binder she takes with her everywhere, filled with ideas for businesses and ventures. She's got great ideas, none of them ever panned out. This is a real tender spot for her.
Elliot has a rep as a serial dater and do nothing but run the family charity but he's so much more.
He's so much more, but his parents don't let him do anything else. They really suck. In such a bad way.
Elliot is taken with Lena and Lena with him. Lena is always mindful of Tyler and he comes first. When the two of them get involved not just romantically but work a few little business ideas on the side, life is looking great. Lena instills a confidence in him that he didn't have. Meanwhile, Tyler is getting pretty attached to Elliot, and Elliot to him as well. Elliot seems to understand Tyler in a way that maybe be Lena doesn't and has a way of wiggling his way around him, to get things done. Lena is pretty stiff. She's damn stiff. As soon as she lets her guard down, it goes right back up. And where does that leave Lena? Can she keep using Tyler as a reason to keep people away? And Elliot?
Can he regain all the trust he built with Lena? Lots of questions that remain to be answered and time is short.
I loved this story as I said. I loved Lena and Elliot and of course Tyler. The writing is perfect, great plot, but what makes this book special really is Lena and Elliot and the depth of their emotions that really come through in the writing. It couldn't be more perfect.

1.5 eye rolls - not a terrible book for some, but not my cup of tea.

I like Elliot, but Lena is soo annoying. She’s a paranoid, overprotective, wimp with no self-confidence who has panic attacks near any body of water - even bathtubs, what? - We are never given a backstory for this extreme fear...if something traumatic didn’t happen, you’re telling me this grown ass woman is so terrified of being ankle deep in water that she’s shrieking for her kid - who is wearing floaties & under the watch of a lifeguard - to get out when he’s playing in the water and then she FAINTS from her panic attack?? Elliot says she’s the smartest person he’s ever met - really? How? She’s nice and cares a lot about her loved ones and likes to brainstorm new ideas - that’s about all I got from her. Also, Elliot’s parents are awful.

Honestly, I found this book boring & cheesy.

Lena Oserkowski has some great ideas, but they never amount to anything. This time around she's hoping something will come of her efforts, especially with Elliot Debusshere on her side. However, not everyone is thrilled that Lena and Elliot are spending time together. Will they achieve their shot at happy ever after or will his family do anything they can to put a stop to their relationship?

The further I got into the story, the more I thought to myself 'I wish I had of read the first book of this series'. Not to worry though, as this can be read as a stand-alone, but knowing more about how Elliot's sister and Lena's brother ended up together would have made this story even better for me I believe. However, in saying that, I really liked this story right from the beginning, as the hero does something wonderful for the heroine and she can't help but be grateful. Her son is such an adventurous little boy and it's just lucky the hero is in the right place at the right time to help her.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the hero, as his parents are a real piece of work that don't have a lot of faith in Elliot. Luckily, the heroine has enough faith in him and I loved the decisions he makes in order to have the heroine in his life for years to come. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked that she didn't give up on her ideas because surely something was going to come of one of them sooner or later. I also liked the close relationship the heroine had with her son and that she would do anything for him, even if it means spending time with Elliot when she knows she shouldn't.

While the hero, he's confident, an all-round good guy and I really liked the growing bond between him and the heroine's son. There's quite a bit of stars-in-his-eyes, I-want-to-spend-time-with-Elliot from the kid, which I loved because the heroine's son needs a father figure in his life besides the heroine's brother who looks out too much for Lena. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is the way he stood up to his parents because how dare they think they're better than everyone else. Really, I couldn't get over how rude and snobbish they were when they had such kind and caring children in the hero and his sister.

Overall, Ms. Archer has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between the hero and heroine is there from the moment they meet and just keeps getting stronger as the story progresses until they finally give in to their feelings; and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to prove to the heroine that she's the one for him. Certainly, what he does had me cheering. I would recommend Kissing her Crazy by Kira Archer, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Stefanie London, Kadie Scott, Jenna Bayley-Burke and Wynter Daniels.
