I really enjoyed this book and its use of poems and pictures along with writing to tell the story. Throught the letters you experience the adventures and realizations of Martel throughout his life. His strong connection with his heritage is compromised when he learns that it could all be a lie, but instead of giving up, it gives him new hope towards making a better future for his granddaughter, Kit. Overall this book is well written, and although it is short, it provides an interesting and heartwarming story about realising who you really are and the importance of living in the present.
