Welcome to Primrose Hill, where the James family isn't just part of the community—they're the heart of it all.
He believes he’s the person who leaves when things get hard. She believes she’s the person people leave.
After a decade as a Navy SEAL, Weston James is home for good. But returning means facing the guilt he’s carried since walking away when his family needed him most. Stepping into the CFO role at his family’s winery is his chance to make things right. To prove that this time, he’s staying.
There’s just one complication: the winery’s event planner, Hollis Bradley.
Hollis has built a life entirely on her own. After watching her parents move on and build new families without her, she learned she could only truly count on herself. Depending on others only led to heartbreak.
Weston and Hollis have been getting under each other’s skin since the day they met. Now working side by side, their constant arguments give way to an attraction they can’t resist and a connection neither will acknowledge.
Giving in to the attraction is simple. Only physical. Only temporary.
Until it isn’t.
For Weston, wanting Hollis means confronting a life spent putting duty before himself and learning what it means to choose something simply because it makes him happy. For Hollis, letting Weston in means giving someone the chance to leave her behind all over again.
Wanting each other was never the problem.
Trusting each other enough to relinquish control might be.
Brittany Storm lives in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, where horses have been a part of her life for over twenty years. An avid rider and competitor in the hunter/jumper show ring, she’s currently training and competing with a young horse of her own. When she’s not at the barn or writing, Brittany enjoys life with her husband, two young kids, and her dog. After losing her mom a few years ago to cancer, she found solace in romance novels and loved escaping into their world, so much so that she decided to start writing stories of her own. Her stories celebrate family, horses, and the kind of love that makes life feel a little sweeter.
Let me start this off by saying in the acknowledgments, Brittany mentions we’ve been asking for Weston’s story from day one and she’s not wrong! I’ve been dying for Weston’s story and it did not disappoint! I think this one will take the place of being my favorite in the entire series. Weston is so grumpy, so mean but when you find out why he’s so closed off your heart will shatter. You’ll find he’s not mean, he’s scared and truly has the biggest heart!
I loved getting to see all the siblings from previous books play a role in this story and I loved all the Easter eggs from the other stories. Especially the references to public activities. 😜
So sad for this series to come to an end, but it ended so perfectly.
Thank you Brittany for providing an eARC and for entertaining me while I swooned over chapter 12 and 22. 😂🙈
The perfect recipe for a romance? Brittany Storm might have cracked the code.
Cost brings us back to Primrose Hill one last time, this time following Weston James, the eldest James sibling, a grumpy former Navy SEAL carrying the weight of his past, and Hollis Bradley, an ambitious, fiercely independent woman determined to build her own empire.
Neither is looking for commitment. Weston struggles with the guilt of having left his family when they needed him, while Hollis has spent years protecting herself from the kind of abandonment she experienced growing up.
Unfortunately for their carefully constructed emotional walls, life has other plans.
And I absolutely ate it up.
Weston James is book-husband material. Grumpy, protective, tough, but never unnecessarily cruel. He’s a man carrying regrets, not an excuse to treat everyone around him badly.
And Hollis? THIS is how you write a strong FMC.
She’s confident, successful, and independent without needing to belittle others to prove her worth. She challenges Weston, but their banter never becomes a competition over who’s superior. Her strength doesn’t disappear when she learns to trust, compromise, and let people into her life. If anything, that’s when she becomes even more compelling.
Their romance develops beautifully. What begins as mutual irritation slowly turns into curiosity, attraction, affection, and eventually love. Nothing feels forced. You can see their perceptions of each other changing through their interactions, and that’s exactly the kind of romantic progression I love.
And here’s where my grandma’s recipe analogy comes in.
You know those family recipes where every ingredient is perfectly measured? Nothing overpowers anything else, every flavor has its place, and the final result is simply delicious?
That’s Cost.
The pacing, the humor, the emotional depth, the chemistry, the spice, the family dynamics… everything is balanced. The chapters keep the story moving, the emotional moments have room to breathe, and the spicy scenes? Let’s just say Brittany knows how to make certain moments unforgettable.
But what makes this series special to me is how human its characters feel.
Weston and Hollis aren’t perfect. They carry wounds, make mistakes, struggle to communicate, and occasionally make you want to shake some sense into them. But they also learn, compromise, and grow together.
Brittany Storm doesn’t need to write extraordinary people to make their love stories unforgettable.
And then there’s the ending.
Closing a series is never easy, especially when readers have grown attached to an entire family. But Brittany gives the James siblings the farewell they deserve, allowing us to see how their lives and relationships have evolved. It was emotional, satisfying, and beautifully done.
I’m genuinely grateful that discovering Verdict led me to this series. Watching Brittany’s journey through her debut series has been such a pleasure, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
The James family may have reached the end of their story, but they certainly haven’t reached the end of mine as a reader.
Thank you, Brittany Storm, for another captivating read and for all the laughs that come from being on your team! I’ve loved every moment. And now for a review that was hard to write because this is the end of the series.
Summary: Weston James is back from the Navy SEALs, and this time, he’s here to stay and help his family. He’s ready to step into the CFO position at his family’s winery, but the job comes with its own set of challenges—and the biggest one just might be the event planner, Hollis Bradley. Hollis is used to her independent, quiet life, where she’s always in control. Now, these two grumpy individuals are forced to work together as they plan various events at the winery. As they spend more time together, they begin to discover new things about each other, and the attraction between them quickly intensifies.
Thoughts: •The tension and angst between Weston and Hollis is so damn intense. I knew it was going to be good, but damn, it was off-the-charts amazing. •The love this family has for each other makes this one of the best found-family romance series EVER. The group chats are one of my favorite things about these books, and the banter and love between everyone is just so perfect. •One of the hottest workplace romances and enemies-to-lovers books I’ve come across. These two MCs were the perfect grumps, and having two grumpy MCs just hits differently in a romance book…I loved it!! •I instantly fell in love with Weston and Hollis before I even read this book, and I fell even more in love with them as I read and finished their story. •I love the winery/vineyard setting. Make sure you have your wine and cookies ready when reading this book! •The only sad thing about this book…the series is over. 🥹 But Brittany sure went out with a bang!! Series endings are always hard because I’m always left wanting more. Everything was tied up so perfectly in Cost. •If you see this review, you MUST stop and go start with Faults. You SHOULD NOT read this series out of order. You want and need the full effect of Brittany’s beautiful writing from the very beginning.
I did not want this series to end, but unfortunately all good things have to.
In book 4 of the Primrose Hill series, we (finally) get Weston’s story. This is one I have been (im)patiently waiting for. We get the broody grumpy oldest James child meet his match in event planner Hollis. The banter is top-notch, the tension is so good, and the payoff of it all is even better. You will laugh and you will cry.
This was such a good way for the series to end! 🍷🍪
If you are fans of Lena Hendrix, Liz Tomforde, or Elsie Silver then you need to read all of Brittany’s Primrose Hill books! You will not be disappointed!!
So many thanks to Brittany for the ARC to read and review!
I KNEW going into this book that I was going to be emotional. It's the final book in the Primrose Hill series, a series I have loved SO much, and I was absolutely not ready to say goodbye to the James family!!
First, let's talk about Hollis because she is hands down one of my favorite FMCs EVERRR!! She's smart, beautiful, fierce, and does not take crap from anyone. Especially not her boss, Weston James. 😂
And WESTON FREAKING JAMES!!🔥 I have been waiting for this man's story since I started the series!! Broody, grumpy, ridiculously hot, and carrying so much more beneath that gruff exterior. I have such a weakness for a fictional grumpy man, especially when there's a whole lot more to him than he lets anyone see.
This was actually my first grumpy x grumpy romance, and OH MY GOODNESS, I loved it!! Hollis and Weston are both stubborn, both fiercely independent, and neither is about to back down from the other. Their banter is TOP TIER, their chemistry is absolutely off the charts, and I loved getting to see those softer, more vulnerable sides of them. And when they finally let those walls down?! GOOD LORD. 🥵
And Brittany blessed us with a "f*** it" moment!! I FREAKING LOVE a good "f*** it" moment, and I am so grateful!! 😂🔥
Things I didn't know I needed in my life:
✨ Weston on his knees ✨ Weston in a tux ✨ Weston on his knees ✨ Weston being the sweetest uncle to his baby nieces ✨ Weston on his knees ✨ Weston the babysitter ✨ Did I mention Weston on his knees?!
Sorry, I'm just a girl. 🤷♀️
This book made me laugh, made me cry, made me swoon, and had me seriously overheating in a few places… pun VERY much intended...
The family group chat was hilarious as always, and every moment with the James siblings reminded me why I fell so hard for this family in the first place. I ADORE THEM!!
Brittany has such a gift for pulling you into a story from the very first sentence. She somehow gives us the perfect blend of emotional damage, sweet and tender moments, incredible banter, humor, and spice that is absolute PERFECTION!! And she delivered every bit of that with Hollis and Weston.
I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better ending to this series. It was absolute perfection, and as much as I loved every second, I am SO SAD it's over!! 🥹 The James siblings have become some of my favorite fictional characters, and I'm already missing them. Clearly, a full series reread is in my very near future!!
If you love Laura Pavlov, Liz Tomforde, or Elsie Silver, PLEASE do yourself a favor and read Brittany Storm's Primrose Hill series!! I have a feeling you'll be just as obsessed as I am!! 🩷
Thank you so much, Brittany, for the gifted ARC and for allowing me to read and review this gem early!! I loved every second of it, and I'm so grateful!! 🥹🩷
Let me preface this by saying I have loved Weston since Curveball (because I read out of order and read Curveball first) and have been waiting like a legit crackhead for him to get his book. NO REGRETS.
Not me rubbing my hands together like an excited gremlin in chapter 1 when Weston describes Hollis because I’m so pumped for how this is going to play out.🤣
After that I got sucked into the and stopped taking notes so my usual commentary was more internal this time but LET ME TELL YOU SOME THINGS.
I loved Hollis and Weston. I loved their dynamic. I love a grumpy x grumpy and these two do it so so well. I loved seeing the vulnerable side to them both but I also loved how they could practically flip a switch and go from vulnerable to really freaking hot.
Speaking of hot, I would give a not-essential-to-living organ for Weston to give me a hand necklace. I’m aware that he’s fictional and I’m aware what this says about me but like I said before, NO REGRETS. When you read this book you’ll get it. If you don’t, read it again because you missed something.
I’m sad it’s ending. I grew all too attached to the James family and now I don’t know how I’ll live without knowing what next Thanksgiving is like. What chaos is going down in the family group chat. Where Addison and Dean are doing it next (IYKYK). I don’t like endings because I hate the finality and while I feel the same about this series I can appreciate how well it ended and say that this book was the perfect way to finish it up.
Shoutout to my new Roman Empire, Weston James, because I’ll be thinking of that man forever. And shoutout to the brilliant lady that created him, ya done good.
Thank you so much to Brittany Storm for trusting me with an ARC of Cost 💚
This was such an easy, entertaining read. Short chapters, effortless flow, hilarious group chats, inside jokes, and all the banter I've come to love from this series. And as a sports girly, I appreciated the little bit of sports sprinkled in!
Now, let's talk about the man I've been waiting for. WESTON 😮💨 How he manages to make grumpy and broody look sexy is beyond me. He has such a rigid exterior, but let's be real, he's just one giant teddy bear underneath 🥹I'd take him as my boss any day. Thank you 🤤And Hollis? That girl is driven, stubborn as hell, and not afraid to challenge him. I gotta admit, I was Team Weston the entire time because her attitude toward my man tested my patience 😂 But I appreciated that her strength wasn't all about putting him in his place. She knew when to meet him halfway without compromising who she was 💅🏻 I appreciated that balance.
Where the book lost me was the romance. Their attraction had supposedly been building for a year, but we barely saw that buildup. Even conversations with other characters made their working relationship seem fairly new. So the jump from bickering to giving in felt sudden, and while the physical chemistry was unmistakably there, I needed more emotional buildup to believe they were falling in love. As hookups? Sure. As a couple? I couldn't ship them.
That being said, leave it to Brittany to make found family feel like home 💕 She made Primrose Hill such a warm place to escape to, and I loved how she brought everyone together one last time. Seeing all those familiar faces made this finale even more special. Can't wait to see what Brittany gives us next! 💕💚
First, I want to thank Brittany Storm for trusting me with an ARC of Cost... Where do I start??? Weston was my favorite from the very first book, I love him....At the surface he is this grumpy, always in control man, but inside he is a teddy bear, as his sisters like to call him...I love that we got to know why he chose Navy Seal and why he always like to be in control, because there was a time when things where out of his control and didn't know how to cope with that... Hollis is Weston, but the female version and i loved her...She is strong, ambitious and beautiful and a pain in the ass for Weston...I love the sibling relationships, they are such a tight group, sometimes maybe to much in everybody's business, but i loved them...The friendship and found family in this series is so beautiful...Now, the relationship between Weston and Hollis, i don't know how to explain it , i think they are to much alike, i love them both, but togheter i don't think they are the perfect fit...That being said i did enjoyed the book and Weston is still my favorite, love him so much...A good book to end the series...If found family, close sibling relations and family, sports and small town is your vibe, I think you'll enjoy this series....
How am I supposed to review the END of Primrose Hill when I’m simply not ready to leave?! 😭
Cost was such a perfect, bittersweet ending to a series that I’ve genuinely loved from the very beginning, even if I did read them slightly out of order. Brittany’s talent has been incredible to watch throughout this entire series, and somehow she just kept getting better with every book. These characters, this town, the way Texas just radiates of the page ((this piece of it is personal for me)), this whole little world she created… I’m attached, okay?!
And honestly, being part of Brittany’s street team has made this series even more special to me. THE BEST street team there is. 😂 and sorry if you’re not on it because you’re missing out on something special, and totally unhingedddd! Cutting up in the group messages, hyping these books together, and actually becoming friends along the way has easily been one of my favorite parts of this whole experience.
So yeah… five stars for Cost. Five stars for Primrose Hill. Five stars for Brittany freaking Storm and one hell of a debut series. 🤎
Weston is forever daddy. CoJo is a veryyy close second. No notes, just go read the series and you’ll know.
All of that to say…I’m proud of you, friend. But also slightly mad at you because now it’s over and I’m not ready to let these people go. 😭
We love you Britt! Congrats on an amazing series. Never stop sharing your talent with the world.💗
*Thank you to the author Brittany Storm for this gifted ARC. I am honoured to provide an honest and authentic review and opinions are my own.*
Hands down my favourite book of the entire series!!! I think the first and last were standouts for me but this one TOOK THE CAKE 🎂 (or wine and a chocolate chip cookie 😉)!
The man that Weston is and the fierce determination of Hollis was fireworks in every sense!! The way they work together, fight together; and get together - was a spicy dish served on a platter for us to GOBBLE!
But more than that there were so many elements I loved about this book- finding your purpose, finding a home, self acceptance, and found family to name a few.
The way that Weston stepped up for Hollis when she needed him most- swoon worthy MMC right there. And prepare yourself to want a little Butters in your life. 😉
Thank you so much to Brittany Storm for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Cost is not your typical romance, as Weston & Hollis are like two tornados orbiting each other to create a monster storm of heated looks and banter filled business arguments. (Grumpy x Grumpy Protective/Independent)
I did enjoy their arguments more than I enjoyed their civil conversations. That said, I didn’t really see the romantic side of them making sense, as there weren’t a lot of bonding moments as much as I felt like there could have been. The tension was FULLY THERE, but as a romance with a guaranteed HEA, I didn’t feel that pull for them to be “the one” for one another.
That said, the spice is spicy. Grumpy x Grumpy spice is some of my favorite relationships to read! I just didn’t see them as a couple, and more of the boss/employee with tension being the only thing keeping them coming back to each other; not the actual affection for the other person.
Overall I would recommend this! I think the winery setting of this whole series is a really great vibe, and this was no exception.
I was a hardcore Walker fan throughout the series and Brittany entirely converted me to a Weston lover in this book. Cost was the perfect way to end the Primrose Hill series. I feel like a piece of me will always be in Primrose Hill and I told my friends goodbye. I loved Hollis’s feisty personality and how it gives Weston’s intense control needs a run for their money. The spice in this book is written so well and the tension leading to a workplace romance is the chef’s kiss. I enjoy Brittany’s writing so much. She has a way of putting so much emotion into her characters. I found both Weston and Hollis to be so relatable in different ways. I love when you can see a piece of you in a character.
“Turns out, the best parts of life were never meant to be controlled. They were meant to be lived.”
I highly recommend reading this series in order so you can get the full experience and inside jokes during the book!
Thank you to Brittany for an advanced copy in exchange for a review.
Thank you to Brittany Storm for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Weston James, the broody former Navy SEAL who has officially earned a spot on my book boyfriend list!
The tension, the banter, and the chemistry between Weston and Hollis were so good! I love a romance where two stubborn characters constantly get under each other’s skin but can’t seem to stay away from each other.
What made this story even better was the emotional depth. Both Weston and Hollis carry so much hurt from their pasts, and watching them learn to let their walls down and trust each other made their relationship that much sweeter.
The James family, the small-town atmosphere, and the winery setting added so much charm to this story. Brittany Storm delivered the perfect mix of spice, emotion, and romance!
I absolutely loved this story. It was the perfect conclusion to Primrose Hill and I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry! I have loved all of the previous books, but this one is definitely my favorite. Weston and Hollis are 2 beautifully broken people that found just what they needed to complete themselves. I also didn’t realize how much I loved the grumpy x grumpy trope!
Im so sad this series has come to an end but I couldnt think of a better send off than Weston and Hollis’ story😩
Weston has been a favorite of mine since book 1 and he still has that title and Hollis is just the perfect person for him! Sassy, smart mouthed, and knows how to push his buttons in all the right ways😜
But what I really loved about this book is how seen I felt, being the oldest myself I resonated with both of them! West in trying to do best by the family and not letting anyone down and Hollis by always pushing herself to be the best and not relying on anyone. The family dynamic that Hollis has with her parents also hit home for me! This book was a 10/10 i HIGHLY recommend 🫶🏽
Thank you so much Brittany for the eARC! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have been looking forward to Weston’s book since I picked up Curveball. I read the books a little out of order, but I am so glad his book is here!
Weston is independent and strong headed. Hollis is also very stubborn and bullheaded. Put those personalities together and boom- instant tension! The banter between these two and WOW- the sexual tension.
I think I enjoyed the “f*** it” moment the best. Which that’s my favorite part of enemies to lovers.
Brittany writes the best characters and stories. They have been through a lot and their backstories are so true to life. Nothing about it feels fake and she has brought every character to life in my brain. 💗
Tropes: 🍷Workplace Romance 🏐Grumpy x Grumpy 🍷Dislike to Lovers 🏐Forced Proximity 🍷He Takes Care of Her 🏐Black Cat FMC 🍷German Shepherd MMC 🏐Meddling Family
From the moment I read the dedication, I knew this book would be special.
Hollis is the type of woman who is admired and respected. She has worked hard for everything she’s accomplished in her life, and for once she’s finally settling into her newer role as the event planner at the Primrose Estates Winery and Vineyard. The owners and their kids all love her, as do the other employees… except for her boss, and she doesn’t know why! Hollis is amazing at what she does and she wants to prove to everyone, mostly herself and Weston, that she has what it takes to keep Primrose Estates successful and on the map.
Weston… wow. We meet him when he’s on his last nerve with Hollis, even though they’ve recently just met themselves. He is the epitome of hard-working, focused, meticulous, controlling… and he just cannot fathom keeping Hollis on his staff. His conflicting feelings toward her quickly become comical because this man is just fighting it so bad 😂 This poor guy has been THROUGH it in his life, and throughout the story it’s just beautiful to see his growth as he comes to the realization that not everything needs to be so controlled and it’s okay to let go a little bit.
THE TENSION BETWEEN THESE TWO 😮💨 Hollis and Weston finally find some common ground through a few hot, yet inappropriate hookups, and it all comes to a head when Hollis falls so ill that she can’t even walk out of her office; Weston takes care of her despite the trauma he suffered from when his mom was sick, and it’s when he has no choice but to face his fears that he realizes there’s a fine line between hate and love.
The evolution of Weston and Hollis’s relationship is truly lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Brittany did a wonderful job with this story, from the depth of the characters, to the relatable past traumas they both experienced. She seamlessly intertwined some great laughable moments with the heaviness of their respective life stories as well, and we can’t forget the spice. PHEW, nicely done!
Apparently this is book 4 of a 4-book series (who knew? lol). I obviously hadn’t read books 1-3, but I didn’t feel lost like I have before when being dropped off in an already established series. I did occasionally get some of the Weston’s siblings confused throughout the story since the previous books were about them, but that being said, I don’t think it’s crucial that the first 3 books are read prior to this one.
Thank you to Brittany Storm and her team for trusting me with this eARC in return for an honest review; all thoughts and opinions are my own. 🙂
Brittany Brittany Brittany. Banger after banger. There was some serious crack in this book😫
Weston....the man that you freaking are😌 The mouth on this man should be illegal i tell you🤭 I love banter. I love forced proximity. I love when they fool around behind others backs. AND I WAS BEING FED!!! Weston was the best grumpy man we all needed but the way he melted like butter for Hollis was 😚🤌 She gave him sh*t but he gave it back(with caution) x10000 hehe. His determination with the winery was so sweet to make sure it never failed.
Hollis is such a badassssss. I love this girl so much. She was the backbone to the winery and making sure all events went perfect and the way I was such a proud mom. Even if she made a mistake she came back even better. Not letting Weston get away when he tried to take care of anything that went wrong. Just genuinely so freaking sweet and caring🥹 i loved that his family pulled her and Butters in like their own.
The tension with these two made me want to combust😛 They truly had some insane chemistry and i loved seeing the push & pull before they caved🙂↕️ Now the scare?! I cant even say but my gosh my heart was down by my feet. Yes I did sob. No im not ashamed. 😭🤣
The family group chats are HILARIOUS. I love all the siblings and the picking they do on eachother 😭 Im so sad its over but the ending all wrapping it up was so beautiful 🥹
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
First I wanna thank Britt for the opportunity of being in her street team and recieving an early early copy of this AMAZING story!!
When I tell you I couldn't put this book down is an understatement, I was hooked since page 1. It's so fast paced and entertaining that you literally cannot tell when you've been reading for hours and it's 3am (yep it happened to me).
I knew Weston was gonna be MY MAN when I met him in book 1, and he did not disappoint. My precious soft hearted broody man who has suffered so much and despite that puts everyone first. I absolutely loved his character development, giving him a plussssss. Hollis wow! Maybe my favorite fmc written by Britt. Complex, deep, but most importantly relatable; she was a breath of fresh air with her idgaf attitude but also giving lots of fucks... Her work ethic was admirable and seeing her open up to West and the rest of the James family was everything and more. Some may think their relationship went a lil fast but I think it was perfect, we can see the tension and chemistry since moment one of their interactions. It was a time bomb and boyyyyyy did it explode in the most delicious way. I told Britt that I loved so so much how they're falling in love with each other and they don't even realize it!!
This was the perfect ending for the series and I can't wait to jump into a new series that may or may not be coming soon...
If Brittany Storm writes, I’m reading it for sure! Well, first I would like to start saying that it’s sad that this series is coming to an end. But Cost was definitely the perfect ending 👌🏼
This book has the perfect spice, chemistry, family dynamics, humor, tension and character’s development. I ate that up! I was blushing, giggling and even a bit emotional towards the end. The author did an exceptional work on this book. And I have to say that is definitely my favorite! (And I think I might have said that for the last book from Primrose Hill, but believe me, it gets better everytime!)
Weston is the most grumpy, arrogant and obnoxious MMC you can find.. until you get to get to know the other side of the story. This Navy seal is the most caring man. And Hollis is such a strong FMC, I love her independence, and how she never put her head down.
What a beautiful way to wrap up this series!
Thank you so much Brittany fot letting be read this in advance! I will miss the James family so much 🤍
First, a huge thank you to 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 for the gifted copy of 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭! This is the second book I’ve read in the Primrose Hill series, and it was SO good!! ❤️
I absolutely love Weston, Hollis, and Butters! Weston is a grumpy, retired SEAL taking over the family business, while Hollis is an independent, hardworking event planner for the vineyard. The James family has been a fan of hers from the beginning, other than Weston. Butters is a furry little addition to the work place. 😆🐾
When Weston and Hollis first meet, their personalities definitely clash. They’re both strong-willed and used to being in control, which makes for some great tension!🥵💪🏼
I really enjoyed all the characters, the little tie-ins from 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭, and especially the family dynamics. The family/spouse group chat had me laughing! 😂
There was a point when my stomach was in knots, but I’m so glad everything worked out the way it did. This series is seriously perfection, and the spice just makes it even better! 🌶️🙃
The banter between Hollis and Weston was stellar! I loved seeing our very buttoned-up, need to be in control, Navy SEAL now CFO of their family's business, be at odds with the event planner. They bubbled and butted heads so much...until they just pop! (And outside at the winery!).
It did not feel much of a 'will they, won't they' but a, 'when will he see it'? To me! The relationship between them two was dynamic, but also felt so natural and meant to be.
And the sick scene when Hollis is in the hospital? OMG. You can feel the care radiating off of Weston as he struggles with someone he loves, the woman he loves, is not okay. I loved seeing his family rally around him, but also Weston become the caretaker for someone he 'supposedly' didn't like a few months ago.
I really loved this series! I *think* this book had my favorite spicy scenes of them all! The dynamic, explosive nature of it all just made it so hot!
I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series to all romance lovers!
Let me start off by saying this was my very first Brittany Storm book and it did NOT disappoint!! I am aware of the others and plan to read those asap!!
Following the journey with Hollis and Weston was a top read for me!! Weston has moved home to continue the legacy at Primrose Estates Winery and Vineyard after retiring from the Navy SEALS. He has two problems, keeping the business running and Hollis. Hollis was the family’s event planner for Primrose Estates Winery and Vineyard, she left home due to poor judgments made by her family and she needed to get away. Both Weston and Hollis deal with minor inconveniences with work due to distractions and each other, there’s one thing they are sticking with, “It would never happen again” If you’re looking for a can’t stay away, swoon worthy romance novel this is it! So grab a chocolate chip cookie and if you like wine a glass of red and dive in!!
Wow what another cracker of a story. I loved the banter between these two, and the family group chat 🤣
Weston believes he’s the person who leaves when things get hard. He’s home for good after a career with the Navy SEAL’s. But returning home means facing the guilt he’s had for years for leaving when his family really needed him. Hopefully working in the CFO role in the family winery business is his way of making things right.
There’s just one problem that stands in his way of achieving this and that’s Hollis who believes she’s the person people leave. Hollis works as the winery’s event planner. She’s built a life entirely on her own after watching her parents leave and build new families without her, she’s learnt she can only depend on herself.
Weston and Hollis keep rubbing each other up the wrong way. Their constant arguments move onto attraction they can’t resist or ignore. It’s only meant to be temporary until it’s not….
Received from author for an honest review and I absolutely loved it
Banter, spice, and everything nice! Cost had me laughing and blushing all at once. Definitely my favorite book of the series!
Weston is a tatted Navy Seal who loves to be in control, but he is a softy towards animals and his neices/nephew. Basically, he's the whole package!
Hollis is independent, creative, and not afraid to speak her mind, while inside she feels like she's no one's first choice.
Put these two together and sparks (and words) fly! The banter is full of tension and whit. And that first kiss- probably my favorite "F it" moment ever. The way this man steps up and takes care of her and they become vulnerable with each other is everything.
This book was the perfect ending to the Primrose Hill Series. It wrapped everything up and a nice litte HEA bow! I cant wait to meet all the King siblings next.
Thank you Brittany Storm for the #gifted eARC. All opinions are my own.
I’m so grateful that I was able to read the arc for Brittany Storm’s new book due to come out on December 4th called Cost!
This book was amazing from start to finish, the tension was there from the beginning and I devoured this book because of it!
I absolutely loved the female main character Hollis, she is so independent, career-driven, and genuinely loved her job. She was so fun to follow along and her humour made me laugh throughout the book.
I also really liked the male main character Weston, he had so much depth and I really enjoyed learning more about him as the chapters went on. He is the CFO of Primrose Estates Winery & Vineyard which is his family’s business, before this he was a Navy Seal. I really enjoyed learning about that in the book and the reason he decided to join the Navy, it added an element to the story that is rare to come by in romance books.
This book was so good because the main characters work together, Hollis is the event planner at Primrose Estates Winery & Vineyard, so they’re forced to interact and it was executed so well by Brittany Storm. The bickering, the forced proximity, the angst!!! Wow, wow, wow!
I also loved all the side characters and Weston’s family especially his relationship with his nieces. And of course I have to mention Hollis’s dachshund Butters, I’m obsessed with him🥹🧈
If you enjoy books with dislike to lovers, workplace romances, forced proximity, grumpy x grumpy, German Shepherd MMC and black cat FMC. Then this series is for you!!! 🤍⭐️
I ate this up!! Its been a while that I have finished a book in one sitting, but I just couldn't put it down. This was well worth the lack of sleep and pot of coffee I had to consume the next day to function as an adult. One of my favorite romance troupes of all time. We have unmatched banter in this dislike to lovers, open door, small town romance. We have a grumpy ex-navy SEAL turned CFO MMC and fiercely independent, event planner FMC. There is forced proximity as they have to navigate working together. We have a bit of found family and meddling family. The chemistry and tension in this romance was so enjoyable.
I can not thank the Author, Brittany Storm, enough for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. After reading this now completed series, you are definitely on my auto-buy author list!
Weston and Hollis absolutely stole my heart! Weston is the perfect grumpy, commanding MMC, and Hollis is exactly the kind of heroine I love—she doesn't back down and knows how to match his energy.
THE TENSION BETWEEN THESE TWO?! 🥵🔥 The chemistry, the banter, the buildup… I was completely hooked.
But what really got me was Weston's character growth. Watching a man who needs to be in control learn to embrace love and everything life throws his way was so beautifully done.
And that epilogue?! THE RING. THE FAMILY MOMENTS. THE EMOTIONS. 🥹💍
Brittany Storm gave this series such a heartfelt send-off, and I'm genuinely sad it's over.
Five stars. No hesitation. I'm going to miss these characters so much. 💜

I’ve been excited for Weston’s book since the beginning of the series and he is everything I wanted and more!! The dislike these two had for each other along with their undeniable attraction to each other made their interactions so much fun!! The sibling group chats always crack me up and the found family in this series is one of my favorites.
I loved Hollis! She is such an amazing FMC!! She was a badass that rose up from nothing and built her career. She didn’t take crap from anyone and I loved when she would challenge Weston on something especially because he wasn’t used to that 😂 their back and forth banter was so fun and when they finally hook up.. wow their chemistry is absolutely amazing!! Weston was a hot grump and I loved finding out more of why he was the way he was. His story was so much deeper than I realized. This was the perfect ending to the series! This series is so special to me, and I’m so sad it’s over.
Book 4 and the final book in the Primrose Hill series, and there could not have been a better way to end it. This book had SO many of my favorite things. A smart and capable FMC who didn't take anyone's shit, a seriously (and I mean to die for) hot MMC and the type of relationship that had me completely invested from the start. Hollis felt so REAL, and I freaking LOVED her for it. She was strong, witty, and more than capable of holding her own against Weston. And Weston (king of hand necklaces) was perfectly grumpy and protective, but just so ridiculously sweet and gentle at his core once he finally let his walls down. His backstory and history and how that played into the plot of this story had me absolutely SOBBING. I was genuinely unwell. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Hollis and Weston, the way their relationship developed, and how naturally they fit into the larger dynamic of the Primrose Hill characters. Getting to see their story unfold while still feeling connected to everyone else made this such a fun read. AND FINALLY: THE BONUS FULL SERIES EPILOGUE. I was NOT prepared for more tears. Having the chance to say goodbye to the whole series made the ending feel that much more special. What a perfect way to close out the Primrose Hill series. Thank you for the eARC from the author, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
