“This is not the honeymoon I saw myself having. But it is the one I should have expected.”

All Blue Billings wants is a nice honeymoon with Levi.

They’re staying in a stunningly romantic cottage by the sea, with a four-poster bed they could get lost in, and two weeks to accomplish that fact. It’s therefore extremely vexing to find himself in the middle of a centuries-old murder mystery and helping the snarkiest ghost he’s ever encountered.

Now, he and Levi are tangling with dead smugglers, having terrifying encounters at midnight crossroads, and battling one of the darkest and deadliest entities that they’ve ever encountered—an entity that is now focused on Blue’s new husband.

From bestselling author Lily Morton comes the fourth book in the Black and Blue series. The books are intended to be read in order.

“Why, yes. Do let’s get on with the next chapter of Blue and Levi’s amazingly awesome honeymoon,” I say through pants. “Where we meet yet another thing that’s trying to fucking kill us.”

A delightfully eerie ghostly romance story 🥰👻. I don't usually gravitate towards mysteries, spooky paranormal plot lines or books about established couples, but I adore the Black & Blue series and will always show up for the next instalment in their love story. I genuinely don't know how Lily managed to keep me laughing amongst descriptions of creepy haunting, gruesome reanimated corpses and an asshat ghost overly concerned with preserving his legacy. The paranormal elements never feel too heavy when sprinkled with true love and irreverent banter. And of course a few mentions of cheese scones, which I'm now craving!
I’d got stupidly excited about grave digging, but it doesn’t feel quite so entertaining now with the menace that drifts around me like mist. It’s a feeling of low-key threat—of being in this place that doesn’t belong to the living and where the dead don’t welcome visitors. It rubs down my skin the wrong way and makes me feel on edge.

With every book, I fall in love a little more with Blue's snark and sass. The strength and vulnerability in his character is a really compelling dichotomy. I don't think he'd ever feel too loved, after all of the deprivation he's experienced in his life. It's a good thing he's found his soulmate Levi, who is a sweet cinnamon roll of a man. Levi- with his wholesome and supportive enabling of Blue's most reckless ideas- was the star of the book for me. In this one, Blue and Levi head off on their honeymoon and inevitably end up staying in a super haunted home by the sea. They dive headfirst into solving the mystery of what has happened to their ghostly houseguest- after making a deal with him that mornings are for hanky panky and the afternoons are for ghosts. I love Lily's creativity and the way she set up the story. Blue and Levi are dealing with a powerful foe in this one, and as always their relationship is what gets them both through all the creepy and unsettling things that happen.
“Okay. Opening the coffin,” my husband calls. “Fuck, this is the grimmest thing I have ever done. I don’t want to do this on any of my future honeymoons.”

I really enjoyed the book very much, as I do almost all of Lily's books. I don't recommend reading it as a standalone, although I guess you could if you really wanted to. It's the fourth book about this couple and you'll get much more out of the book if you start with book 1. These two have the most hysterically funny meet cute I've ever read and it would be such a shame to miss the tea towel that led to true love 🤣.
“I never used to believe there was anything after this life, but now I have you, I want it to be true. There must be more, because I love you too large for just this world.”

I love the first book in the series. It's one of my favourites and I've re-read it many times. Sadly, I didn't enjoy the second book that much, and I've skipped the third book after checking out the sample. Maybe it's just me, but Blue and Levi started sounding more like characters from this author's other books, with their snark and sass, than the Blue and Levi we meet in the first book. That one will always feel different and special to me.

I still decided to give this one a try, because I wanted to read more about those two and it is their honeymoon, so it felt right. I really liked seeing them again. I liked the references to the time when they met. The story is sometimes really sweet and fun. I liked the setting. And I liked the two characters we meet in this one. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't say more than that.

The ghosts storyline was a mixed bag for me. Sometimes things would happen for the spook factor, and not because they make sense. Some parts are too gruesome for my personal taste, so I had to skim a bit. It also felt too OTT and unbelievable at times, especially the events towards the end. I do really appreciate the author's warning at the beginning of the book. At least I avoided the spiders. 😅

🖤 Levi & Blue are back and better than ever in book four of the Black & Blue series: Ever After by Lily Morton💙
This time they're on their honeymoon in Cornwall and of courseeeee the cottage they end up staying in is haunted, and it turns out that ghost is the least of their worries.

This book is definitely a verging on horror, as all of them are in this series.
There is a possession in this one - absolutely terrifying to think about.
This has Levi & Blue working together with the few "people" they meet in Cornwall instead of the side characters we've come to love joining them to help.
I feel like this shows a huge development in how strong they are together, separately, and how much they've learned overall.

-----
Blue was as sassy as ever and I loved it so much.
I love that you can see the little bits of Blue that have started to rub off on Levi; his snarky comebacks to his husband were quite funny.
The two are the perfect compliment to each other and their love is stunning and pure and everlasting. It can - and does - defeat evil.

I just wish we got to see Blue's powers develop a bit more, as we keep hearing from the ghost world how he's a once in a generation talent but I'd like to know/see how. It's also often said he hardly knows anything at all.
I'd like to see him really tap into his full potential before the series fully ends.

-----

One of my favorite things about book 4 is that we get a love story between two of ghosts that are part of the main plot - Lysander & Branock. Branock is a fantastic character, I enjoyed his banter with Blue a whole lot.
The conclusion to their story... yeah, I definitely had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face.
Hopefully it won't be the last time we get to see them though.

I love all of these characters so much. The characters of the Black & Blue series just have a certain charm to them.
And of course, Lily's writing is the cherry on top of it all.

The very very end is so cute and based on where it leaves off, I have a feeling we'll get another book, it doesn't really feel concluded yet.
Annnd I can't wait.

Blue and Levi....god I love these two! They are AMAZING together and the definition of a beautiful, healthy, forever love. They just warm my heart. Even as bad things are happening around them, their love never wavers. I think if Ms. Morton wanted to, she could have them doing ghost adventures for awhile. Like could this be the last book in the series? Yes, it ends on a high note and a very firm HEA if she so chooses it to be. But also a bit opened ended for more Blue and Levi ghost adventures as well.

So whether we get more of this series or no, I'm here for it.

Blue and Levi finally get married in this installment - and yes, I'm really miffed the actually getting married part was *skipped over*! What the hell??? I could have taken .25 stars off for it, but in the end it felt a little harsh. We at least got Levi's thoughts and memories of part of the ceremony after, which makes up a bit in a small way for that. So while I'm frustrated that was skipped over, the rest of this was amazingly perfect and I decided to forgive Ms. Morton that slight.

Blue and Levi are just married and going on their honeymoon - but of course they can't have an easy, peaceful and relaxing honeymoon - no of course, not, this is Blue and Levi and ghosts are all around them.

This book warns for domestic violence in Chapter 8, and Ms. Morton DOES warn for it, but if you wish to know the details, look under the cut here:

So yeah, that's what happens. I felt so bad for both Blue and Levi, but they get through it as always. Blue and Levi forever <3

So on their honeymoon, they're staying at this cabin by the sea in Cornwall and it basically never gets rented out because of course, it's haunted. By a good ghost and soon a...not good ghost.

We kind of get a mini love story sandwiched between Blue and Levi's continued love story in this. The good ghost is a ghost from 1803, Branock, who for 2 centuries in the afterlife has been separated from the love of his life, Lysander aka Xander, who was the lord of the main house that owns the cabin Blue and Levi are saying in. He died soon after Branock did from a fever, and his ghost has never been able to leave the manor in which he lived, and Branock has never been able to get onto the manor to see him.

It turns out that another ghost, an evil nasty ghost who knew both of them in life, is preventing them from seeing each other all these years.

And also, when Blue and Levi come along, the evil spirit sets his sights on them because he knows Blue is a powerful psychic and they could ruin all his plans and what he has going on as a ghost in Cornwall.

These has some suitably gross and creepy scenes - like when - and all the adventure and mishaps these two go one while trying to solve a ghost mystery.

And getting bits here and there and Branock and Xander and their unfortunately short lived love story, but Blue and Levi doing all they can to reunite them in the afterlife was so sweet and adorable amongst the creepiness and scariness of the evil ghost that was after them.

It wouldn't be Blue and Levi if their marriage didn't start off with a bang ;)

And we got some suitably sexy and hot sex scenes among all the chaos as well. Not a ton, as the romance and ghost mystery is always a bit more of the focus of these stories, but what we got was suitably sexy and fun. I love how after all these years Blue and Levi still can't get enough of each other.

So if you've loved Blue and Levi so far, this still holds up to the first 3 in the series and is another great (if terrifying at times) adventure for these two, and I absolutely can't wait for more - whether it be another couple or these two once again - or if this is truly perhaps it, this was a wonderful ride to go out on.

Definitely tune in for these if you've read this series up to now. It's so, so worth it! Getting more of Blue and Levi and their swoon worthy love and romance is always such a treat and like warm hug.

Until the next (maybe?) 🥰

I have no idea if this is the last in the Black & Blue series - I really hope not - but if so, Lily's gone out on a high note and then some.

This book is creepy, in the best possible way, and manages to draw together two of my favourite things, a spooky paranormal romance, with a Cornish location.

Lily draws on her knowledge of this wonderful county to bring in some of its smuggling history, alongside English folklore about crossroads, the hangman Jack Ketch (known for the botched executions he carried out during his appointment by Charles II), wreckers, and a 200-year-old love story between a former Naval Captain and a Peer of the Realm.

It's a glorious mix of her usual humour, Blue's snark and smart commentary finding a home within Levi's unwavering love and support, and the mysterious and very dangerous situation they find themselves in when they go on honeymoon and rent Gorse Cottage or, the formally know as Smugglers Cottage!

Needless to say, it's not long before things start going bump in the night but you won't get any clues or spoilers here, this one's a rollercoaster of a ride that needs to be experienced blind.

I stayed up until 3.15am to finish it because once I started reading, I just couldn't wait to find out how all would be resolved.

With guest appearances from the usual crew in York, and a whole bunch of lovely new characters down in Cornwall, this really is a belter of a book and perfect for this time of year - when the veil between worlds narrows and spirits roam abroad.

Was this my favorite in this series? Maybe? Ugh it was SOO GOOD!

I absolutely adore this couple. Seriously top tier couple. Couple goals. Etc.
This book was filled with love and spookies, which is a great combination.
I had a great time reading it. It was grey, raining and stormy outside and I was snuggled under a blanket and immerged in this sad mystery.

It was a love story in a love story. I'm super close to crying, just thinking about it. We get introduced to new characters that are just lovely. I don't wanna spoil anything but ahh my heart, they are so cute.

It was spooky too. Not super creepy but it has a nice atmosphere to it.
At first I was bummed when I learned that the book doesn't take place in York but Cornwall sounds great and I enjoyed it anyways!

I love Blue and Levi's dynamic. There are a lot of I love yous but equally as much banter. It was swoony without being too sweet.

Blue is still the badass, snarky and sarcastic psychic.
Levi is still the absolute kindest Blue tamer, with a heart of gold.

If I had to pick something I didn't like, it would be the epilogue. Because it wasn't one. Not really.

Anyways I loved it with all my heart. 6 stars. Chefs kiss. Brava.
I hope there will be other books in this series.

Just wow, this book has all you expect from Lily Morton when she dives into the world of Levi and Blue.
Do not read this late in the evening if you value your sleep though - as in the first three books, the spookiness is definitely not the cosy variety.
And check the trigger warnings, they are there for a reason and one chapter made me cry for Blue but we all know that nothing will come between these two.

I loved it, when I started book one I often wondered where these two will end up and seeing a beautiful wedding made me so happy.
But as we all expected, the honeymoon is more a Blue-expected one than your typical: a haunted cottage, lovers kept away from each other due to a very mean and scary ghost, smugglers, wreckers, Cornish countryside and so much snark and love. Who knew that ghosts have an information network and talk about psychics.

But you also have the amazing chemistry between these two, I love how Blue is secure in Levi's love, how they take care of each other.

You need to read the first three books, Lily Morton added plenty of little references to what happened and you obviously have the merry band of friends.

I do hope this is not the end of these two.

I've enjoyed this series a lot, and I'm not sure why this installment was a bit of a letdown for me. It's not bad; I don't think Lily Morton writes bad books. It just didn't draw me in as much as I expected. The horror elements were a bit on the gruesome side for my taste, but that's not the issue. I just never felt as connected to Blue and Levi as I expected to be, based on the previous books. Judging by other reviews, I'm an outlier, and that's fine.

My thanks to Gay Romance Reviews for an advance copy of this book.

Thus series is such a highlight for me. Lily states in the beginning that she's happy her husband pushed her out of her comfort zone in this series, and you'd never know it. Lily was meant to write this series and it's just so lovely and snarky and creepy and fun.

I would say this is the closest to horror of the bunch. From even early on it goes farther and while the relationship is solid, it is testing some individual stabilities in a way that made me so scared for them! But I love the way that Lily weaves in these moments of lightness and happiness and shows that overall it's really a fun series and I would love nothing more than to have more of them!

Blue and Levi will be top tier for me always. The beginning of this book with the wedding?! Tears and laughter. It was perfect for them. The commitment between these two is bone deep and I love that we get to see how very much in love they are in each story. So here we are … off on their honeymoon, to a quaint little cottage that’s haunted, of course. Our boys just can’t catch a break. 🤭

I loved the setup of this and the mystery of it all. I loved the parallel love story between Xander and Bran. This one definitely leaned a little more into the horror side of things and whew! I survived. LOL … the Vicar was creepy AF. I loved how much more Levi was involved with the ghosts this time. I honestly couldn’t stop reading because I was invested and had to know how it all turned out.

My very tiny little gripes that kept this from being a 5⭐️ read: Blue is supposed to be one of the most powerful psychics and in the other books, we definitely saw a growth in his abilities, but in this book he seemed to not know much at all. I was confused by this. I missed our York crew and wished they would’ve had a bigger part. The ending wrapped up a little too quickly and I wish it had a little more oomph. Not any one thing that kept me from still loving this book … just not wanted a little more, esp after having reread the first three before this.

Ever After by Lily Morton is book 4 in the Black and Blue series. This is definitely one of my favorite series of all time. I cannot get enough Levi and Blue. Each book just cements them as perfect for each other.

The wedding was so sweet and the way these two care and love each other just makes me smile. I knew the honeymoon would be rough but my god. There were times I wasn’t sure what would happen.

This may have been the nastiest entity that Blue and Levi have ever faced. But the fact that they are there for each other and support each other in ALL ways is how they make it.

When the beginning portion happened to Levi (no spoilers) I felt soooo bad for Blue. To have that happen to his husband and for Levi to be behaving like he did had to be painful. But once again, they helped each other get through it.

This was creepy at many points but it also was so romantic as well. Not only Levi and Blue but also our ghosty friends.

I certainly hope that this is not the last time we will see these characters. I do want to go back to the beginning and read them all from book 1. I want to see again how this relationship grows and changes. Definitely one of Lily’s best books!

I love Blue and Levi! The first 3 books are of my favorites but this one took me 10 days to finish... actually I spend a whole week without touching the book...

Truthfully for more than a year I haven't felt much like reading and it shows in the number of books I've read since 2025 and most are audiobooks because it's easier to do things while listening, so maybe I should have stayed away from this till I felt like reading something other than endless SasuNaru fanfics in Ao3, so take my review with a grain of salt if you will.

Almost the first half of the book was spend with not much going on apart from Blue whining about how he didn't want his honeymoon ruined by ghosts for pages and pages, which was sooo tiring to me, especially given his powers, his occupation and his reputation in the spirit world.... is there really ever a chance of going somewhere and not "see" things?

The second half of the story gained some momentum but there were parts that felt disjointed from the story putting on the brakes and dragging it...

I was glad that Levi had more of an active role in the whole and he could see what Blue was seeing and actively be there in the happenings with him.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Black and Blue is a fantastic series and Ever After is a great spooky addition; it’s perfect for this time of year (Halloween). Blue and Levi just want to have a nice quiet honeymoon but the ghosts won’t leave them alone. Their mission becomes one to reunite two dead lovers who have been kept apart in the afterlife by a malevolent entity. They go through a lot of difficult situations – including possession by a real bad entity – but they persevere.

I loved reading this. I was on the edge of my seat for much of it but I knew that Lily Morton would make everything OK by the end and she did. Blue and Levi received a nice reward for their efforts.

I do hope that this story will come to audio because I know that listening to it will make m love it even more than reading it with my eyes.

**Black and Blue by Lily Morton is a series that really needs to be read in order.**

I have to start this review by saying I don’t read any scary books other than those written by Lily Morton, so I’m definitely not an expert on the genre.
However, despite being scarier than I’d prefer, the Blue Billings books are filled with the same snarky characters this author writes so well - which is why I make myself cope with the scary/jumpy bits and read them.
This time she’s given us a particularly sassy ghost in the form of Branok and his ghost dog, a tragic love story and a mystery to solve, all while on their honeymoon to Cornwall and staying in a haunted cottage - where else?! Moving Blue & Levi away from their usual location of York mixes it up a bit but doesn’t make it any less spooky,
These books still have their laugh out loud moments, but I have to say if you are scared of spiders then chapter 7 needs to be read from behind your fingers. Chapter 8 is also a tough read in places and you can almost visualise it in a horror movie.
If this is the Blue and Levi finale I’m pleased we got to see them happily married, and still having adventures along the way. The good thing about this author is the added extras she treats us too in the Short Stack books, so I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of them.

What can I say? This is exactly the kind of book you’d expect from Lily Morton, and she certainly delivers once again.
With every installment in this series, she manages to raise the bar even higher. She has a knack for pulling you deep into a story—one you simply won’t be able to put down.

Be prepared, though: it’s an intense, gripping tale that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster—from laughter and giggles to tears, goosebumps, and even those cringeworthy, toe-curling moments.
This isn’t a book you should dive into without having read the previous installments; Lily weaves a beautiful, overarching narrative thread throughout the series, which adds a wonderful layer of depth when the books are read in order.

I was not expecting there to be a fourth book in this series so this was a pleasant surprise when it appeared in my 'coming soon' list! I am very fond of these characters and it was fun to go a bit further afield with them and their ghostly hijinks. Would happily continue reading this series for a long time.

I mean, it's a Lily Morton book, what can I say? I always love her books, no matter what they're about, and this one is no different. Ever After is the fourth book in the delightfully spooky Black & Blue series and it's just as great as the other three. Not that I expected any different.

Blue and Levi get married and experience a most unusual honeymoon in this one, which... is par for the course with Blue, really. The spooks really spook here, peeps. We have a super evil ghost, as well as a nice, snarky and grumpy ghost. And a few other nice ghosts and mean ghosts. Honestly, far too many ghosts for one's honeymoon. But this is Levi & Blue were talking about so if anyone could handle it, it's these two. Blue has changed so much since we met in him the first book and while he still struggles at times, he's also grown a lot, thanks to Levi's steadfast presence at his side. Where Levi is steady, Blue is chaos, and they balance each other out so well. It's always wonderful returning to these two because I always miss them.

Lily doesn't often venture away from the contemporary genre (don't get me wrong, I adore those books to pieces as well), but when she does, it's always such a treat when she does because she does everything so effortlessly. Or at least, she makes it look that way.

If you've loved this series so far, definitely don't miss out on this one! I do not recommend reading this as a standalone, because it would take away so much enjoyment if you haven't read the first 3 books (4, technically. You really should read The Sceptic between books 2 & 3). Besides, what better time to read this series than October? Get your spook on and enjoy this Levi & Blue adventure.

As a long time fan of Lily’s, it’s been an absolute joy to watch her brilliant writing get even better with age. No matter the trope, she writes it so well.

It’s such a treat to be back with Blue, Levi, and their friends in what is easily the scariest book of the series yet. I just love the Britishness of her books, the humour and wit are spot on, and when mixed with a lovely snarky spooky romance, it just hits the spot.
Ever After hits a whole new level of scariness. I found the mannequin scene genuinely spine chilling and unforgettable. I was terrified of mannequins when I was little, so this scene truly gave me the creeps! I was reading in bed at night (talk about nightmare fuel!) and I actually had to turn the light back on. Thanks for that Lily 😉

"I glance at the mannequin. Beneath the shadow of her bonnet, her cold stare seems fixed on me and makes me shiver. There’s a rustle, and the breeze stirs her skirts again. It’s eerie, making her look like she’s come to life. 😱😱"

Levi and Blue are on a belated honeymoon in Cornwall, Lily describes the area  and atmosphere beautifully, and then turns their peaceful coastal getaway into an absolute nightmare. The spooky vibes are strong with this one, some scenes actually gave me goosebumps.

But of course, Lily knows exactly when to dial up the humour to break up the terror, and she does it so well. Blue trying to have a romantic getaway while aggressively trading insults with a sarcastic ghost, while Levi just sits back, totally unbothered. Absolutely perfect.

It’s romantic, full of lovey doveyness, heart pounding, funny, and scary all at once. It had me laughing out loud and jumping out of my skin at the exact same time. Bravo Lily, bravo! 👏

Oh Blue and Levi - how I love you so! I am always going to jump at a chance to spend a little more time with these two and I’m so glad we keep getting more.

After everything they’ve been through together–haunted houses and estates, a serial killer and so much more–Blue and Levi finally slow things down and find the time to get married and set off on their honeymoon. But, of course, the spirit world finds them, even in a secluded cottage in Cornwall. During their honeymoon, they get drawn into a deal with a snarky and sarcastic former smuggler to help reunite him with the love of his life. The parallel love story was a lot of fun to read and I really enjoyed that this story really brought Levi into Blue’s world, allowing him to see some of the spirits that Blue could (and some he couldn’t). It’s perfectly fitting that they find themselves helping spirits on their honeymoon (in between all the usual honeymoon things haha) and finding friends in Branok and Xander, who I hope will continue to play a part in future stories. Blue and Levi’s relationship and understanding of each other only grows deeper and more complex as these stories go on and I’m here for every minute of it!

Minus .5 stars for me because the spirits and the concept were interesting but I felt like the revelations with the story’s villain were a little too convenient/easy plus I really missed the York crew - would have loved a consult or something with Tom and Will thrown into the mix.

I really hope we continue to get more Black & Blue books in the future - seeing how Levi and Blue navigate the supernatural and their everyday life makes me smile even when I’m a little spooked by whatever craziness is happening in their story.

🖤💙 Ever After ARC Review 💙🖤

Thank you so much to Lily Morton and GRR for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Ever After is an MM paranormal thriller and the fourth book in the Black & Blue series. As always, this will be as spoiler free as possible so if this review feels vague - that's why. All Blue wants is to enjoy a relaxing and romantic honeymoon with his new husband. But when their idyllic seaside cottage turns out to be haunted, they're both thrown into a centuries old murder mystery. But when a deadly entity sets it's sights on Levi, will their marriage end before it had a chance to begin?

This was such a fantastic read! I absolutely adore Blue and Levi! The development of their relationship from the first book until now has been such a delight to experience! Their spooky adventures are always so fun and I love their banter so much! I could really read so many more stories in this world
Overall this was a fantastic five star read! I adore these characters and this latest installment in their story! This book definitely have some potential triggers, so please check if you're sensitive. This story has wonderful spice throughout, so overall three flames for spice

If you're a fan of MM romance with wonderful characters, amazing banter, and all the spooky haunted vibes, then absolutely pick up this series! As this is a continuation of the story started in the previous books, I absolutely recommend reading them in order

I just love Blue and Levi. I have since book 1. And I feel like this book really brought back those feelings from book 1.

Yes, they were already a couple in love. Yes, they get married at the beginning. But it's the honeymoon where insistent ghosts show up and a mystery unfolds. And what better mystery to solve than two ghosts in love but separated by an unknown source for 200 years?

Set in Cornwall, already a place rich in history, Blue and Levi encounter quite a few ghosts- including one who's cottage they are staying in-, deal with astral travel, a possession, spiders *shudder*, and even a ghost dog.

Levi is in the thick of it with Blue, even getting the chance to talk to ghosts himself. In between it all there is quite a bit of what you do on a honeymoon. And it is spicy! There are also some pretty scary parts.

Being American, I had no idea the history of smuggling and wreckers. Both sad and interesting.

There are many threads to the mystery that need to be pulled and unknotted and I loved how it all came together in the end. Because of course there is a happily ever after.

The snark between Levi and Blue is off the charts and maybe could have been toned down a teensy bit, but I still loved it.

- established couple
- series
- paranormal

One day, I will learn that I should not read a book in this series in the dark, alone, at night. I didn't learn that lesson with the previous books and I certainly didn't with this one either. I thought Quiet House was terrifying, it's nothing on this. There are some genuinely creepy parts in this story, and I loved that.

I loved Branok, he's so snarky and sarcastic, and the wordplay between him and Blue was great. His is such a tragic story, I was so sad he and Xander got such a short time together while they were alive and all I wanted was them to find their HEA. It is ostensibly Blue and Levi's story but it's also Xander and Bran's story, and I felt for these two.

I read this almost in one go, because I couldn't put it down and also because it seems like it's been a long wait since the last book (it hasn't actually been that long 😂 )

It definitely has to be read as part of the series, Blue and Levi are an established couple and there are lots of references to other events and characters in the previous book. It made me laugh, it creeped me out, but ultimately kept me engaged until the end, and now I still need more Blue and Levi

I received an advance copy and this is my honest review.

Gentle note to readers that this is part of a series and while the events of the main story will make sense on their own, the entire world and its vibrant, dynamic, deeply weird (in the best and strangest ways) cast of main and some supporting characters benefits from starting at the beginning, if you haven’t already. Blue and Levi return here and they are as ever lovely individuals and an even lovelier pairing. Blue’s snark and Levi’s innate goodness fit together well, and the ghost story that takes over their honeymoon is a richly imagined, deeply interesting, and occasionally seriously hair-raising one. I wasn’t a big fan of the events of one chapter in particular (heed the content notes on that one) but it made sense for the story, and all’s well that ends well: I was a big fan of the ending here, and as always, I’d love to see these characters again.

First: OMG THAT WEDDING!
Legit teared up. I loved seeing Tom and Levi, Will and Blue, everyone in this sweet little family. I love Blue and Will’s relationship. Their friendship is touching and supportive and honestly it’s life goals. Also, can we get a side story about Rhys and Isa? I’m seeing a cocky asshole, a snarky brat, and an age gap.

This had a lovely mystery of two separated lovers who decide to ruin Blue & Levi’s honeymoon. Really found the whole situation and the banter hilarious, as Levi continually bemoans his relaxing sexy honeymoon has been waylaid by grave robbing.

‘I’ve just settled back into my chair when there’s a footstep behind me. “Nope,” I say without opening my eyes. “This office is closed and the door is bolted with a notice saying I’m on my honeymoon.” “Outrageous,” the ghost says, and stomps off.’

All in all, I loved it and I’m doing a speed run through the whole series at this point to celebrate the last gasp of spooky season 🎃

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, and I was certainly not disappointed! Lily Morton is one of the premier British writers in this genre, and her books are always an immediate download for me.

This story was absolutely brilliant. The writing, the storyline, and the attention to detail all demonstrate just how much research Lily puts into her books. I was hooked from the very first word!

You just know that Blue and Levi aren’t going to get through a simple holiday without the spirit world making its presence known. What an imagination Lily Morton has! I’ll certainly be thinking twice before accepting gifts from strangers or taking a bath for a while! 😂

If I could give this story more than five stars, I absolutely would. A thoroughly entertaining read from a truly talented author!

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest and freely given opinion.

I read Rule Breaker in 2017 and was hooked. I then read every single book she had ever written. Lily Morton writing style is one of my most favorite. Her character’s are so quick witted and snarky. They could be on death’s door and use their last bit of energy to throw out one last retort. Blue out of everyone is probably my favorite character of hers. After everything he’s been through he hasn’t lost his charming snark. I loved this addition to the Black and Blue series. We got star crossed ghost lovers, smugglers, possessions AND we finally got to see Blue and Levi tie the knot. It was a roller coaster all the way through. I love that these books are genuinely frightening in some places. I also hope this isn’t the last we see from these characters. There has to be more of the amazing Blue Billings and his ghostly adventures.

Blue and Levi are back! And obviously, better than ever since they are now husband and husband. They are honeymooning at a quaint cottage in beautiful Cornwall. Yes, Levi was a bit suspicious as to why the cottage was available and at such a good price. It turns out that he was right to be suspicious. None of the locals will go by the cottage or thru the woods due to "evil spirits".This is a great read that is full off love, humor, creepiness in the form of an evil ghost who happens to be a reverend, and a possession by a spirit. I am now doubly thankful that my father drummed into me to not take candy or gifts from strangers. We also get a secondary romance in the form and two separated ghost lovers. I sincerely hope that this is not the last that we get to spend time with Blue and Levi.

Finally, another Black & Blue story!

I usually don't read ghost stories, as I find them too scary. But this series from Lily offers just the right amount of funny, snarky, loving characters that make me want to keep reading. Just not when I'm all alone in the middle of the night ;)

While Levi and Blue have tied the knot and are going away for a nice honeymoon, they encounter yet more spirits. And when one in specific asks for their help, the two just can't say no. Especially as it seems the new mystery is pulling them in anyway and they have to use all of their skills, experience and love for each other to make sure to get to the bottom of this mystery alive. Levi's and Blue's relationship is put to the ultimate test while they face an enemy more powerful than ever before.

You can expect smugglers, murder, grave robbing, faux-zombies, an unexpected love story, and more in this latest murder mystery. And of course, plenty of ghosts!

We don't get to read much about the amazing cast of side characters in this series, with Levi and Blue away on their honeymoon. However, we encounter some new people and some great dogs! As this is the fourth book in this series, I would recommend reading the other books first, in order to really understand everything and know the journey these characters have been on to get their HEA.

“I never used to believe there was anything after this life, but now I have you, I want it to be true. There must be more, because I love you too large for just this world.”

I have been in love with Blue and Levi from the first moment I picked up The Amazing Blue Billings and Levi found himself with a haunted house. These characters have my heart always and they draw more people into their little found family of friends. Now of course these two can’t possible have a “normal” honeymoon like ordinary people. It’s going to come with ghosts, a mystery, and an ever after that will keep these two together for all time. The new characters we find in this story are both terrifying and heartbreaking, but of course our heroes work it all out in the end.

Another amazing read from Lily Morton, I have loved every book in this series.

We're joining Blue and Levi on their honeymoon in Cornwall for this book and as always I was totally immersed in the location with the characters, it felt like I knew this village despite never having been to Cornwall.

As Blue and Levi are away, they don't have their usual back up team but help does come from an unexpected source. There is a secondary love story here that doesn't disappoint but no spoilers, you'll have to read to find out.

Lily has a real knack for blending the snarky, sweet and happy interactions between Blue and Levi with some truly spooky scenes. One character gave me genuine chills,

Bravo, Lily Morton, more please.
