Not only was this book absolutely bonkers (in all the best ways) but it was also incredibly heartwarming.
The story was so good! Bailey thought she was in a perfect relationship ready to live out her happy ending with her hot minotaur man Viggo, but fate had other plans in the form of Bennett, another hot minotaur that happened to be her mate. Y'all this book was so good. Things went fast and hot but it was still a slow burn in the sense that they needed to get to know each other and develop romantic feelings, not just sexy ones.
I also appreciated how the ruby was written in this book. Listen I’m just a girl, I don't know sports ok. HOWEVER Sloan did an amazing job explaining things and it was just a nice treat to the story.

Why choose where the boyfriends are boyfriends ⚔️
I needed a bowl of popcorn for the drama in this book! When Bennet and Bailey find out they are mates and Viggo sees them embracing, all hell breaks out 🍿😈 Bennet is her new fated mate, but Viggo is her fiancé. What’s a girl to do, good thing they don’t make her choose with their moon cycles hours away things are about to get very steamy.
Feelings grow and unexpected ones blossom, but are quickly tested when they get information that Bennet can give Bailey something that Viggo can’t… Viggo doesn’t handle the news well and explodes, throwing spiteful words out of pain. I liked how Bennet and Viggo makeup. 😏🫠🥵 I wished they clued in our girl Bailey a little quicker than two days of nothing, but I did enjoy the sweet HEA 🥺😍🥰

Wow! This was a perfect monster romance, and Sloan definitely needs to write more! The spice to story ratio was perfect for the length. There’s emotional depth while still incorporating the silly, OTT aspects of monster romance. I loved all these characters and was kicking my feet for their HEA.

Didn't know I needed a dam daddy minotaur in my life but here we are. This book was so fun, spicy and full of heart. The spice was spicing like damn girl, take a breath. I loved every minute of read time for this one though and can finally say I have read my first minotaur romance book. I love that Bailey was also a plus-size queen who kept these men on their hooves while still keeping an open heart. Definitely recommend!

Wow, I did not think this book could get better. Boy, I was wrong. Thank you so much to Sloane for a chance to read this book. I was fortunate enough to beta read this book and to see how much it has grown since then is incredible. A true testament to the author Sloane is.
The world building in this book is clear and concise. It does a wonderful job of telling us what the hell is going on and what wonderful creatures we might meet.
I loved all three characters but I think I related most to Viggo. He's confident and cocky but I think really that some of this is a facade and really he just a bull with insecurities and dreams he will never be able to reach.
Bennett and Bailey are both such beautiful characters. It was so nice to see Bennett come into his skin and find the confidence within himself. Bailey has so much gusto and I loved seeing her work through the drama of having a lover and a mate.
The spice is phenomenal, as it always is from Sloane. It was filthy and flirty and in some moments quite sweet.
This book is so un-put-downable and I loved it so much. It is so fast paced and I could not be stopped. It is so easy to read.
If you're looking for an introduction into monster romance or just a filthy, fun time - this is the book for you. Please do yourself a favour and pick this one up!

If you want to dip your toes into the monster romance scene like me, Rucked by the Minotaurs is the perfect in! Sloan has the amazing ability to really suck you into any story she writes. The emotions her characters have feel incredibly real and all of them are insanely likeable and hot. And don’t even get me started on the spice🥵 I have to cool down after reading about those mooncycles and that insanely hot scene in the water🔥

Summary
It's once again time for the Summer Monster Olympics (the Clash of Creatures, or CoC teehee), and our minotaur MMC Viggo is having a lot of feelings about it. I would, too, if I'd decided to retire and this was my last competition on an international stage and everyone in the rugby world thinks I'm the GOAT. No Pressure! And on top of that, he's just gotten engaged to the love of his life, human FMC Bailey. Oh and during the two weeks that they're in Monstralia, there's a full moon. Why is that important? Because during a full moon, male minotaurs go into a rutting frenzy.
Imagine everyone's surprise when Bailey runs smack into another minotaur, adorably dimpled little Bennett. He also plays rugby as a rookie, is Viggo's opponent, and oops oh no now Bailey and Bennett are mates, despite mates being extremely rare to the point where everyone thought they were bred out of the gene pool. And if you've ever read anything with fated mates, no, they cannot simply break that bond, and being in a rutting kinda way makes this whole thing that much worse. BUT! There's an easy way to fix all this, considering everyone in this universe is queer. Hooray!
Except...except. Suddenly our MCs are dealing with real-world consequences to this situation. How do you handle having to suddenly open a relationship and make room for a third? What do you do when two of you live in a completely different country halfway across the world, and professional athletes just can't choose to switch teams? And that's not even mentioning the very real problem of the media frenzy this will cause when it looks as though Bennett, who has spent his life worshipping Viggo, is now Mr. Steal Your Girl. Best place to discuss these things? In bed, duh.

If you're thinking that an MMF story with minotaurs and a cartoon cover is going to be spicy and give you some laughs, you'd be right. What you won't expect, however, is how this book is going to come for your throat and squeeze your heart because what do you mean everyone is bringing their devastating baggage to this relationship? What do you mean the aforementioned complexities are handled with care and will make you emotional? WHAT DO YOU MEAN they're all flawed but the MMCs actually talk about their feelings? I dare you to read it and then not have a book hangover afterwards.

I cannot say enough good things about this book! Despite both sports and monster romance not being a "go to" genre for me, I'm in love with this story.
We have Viggo the possessive alpha and his beautiful independent bride to be Bailey is madly in love with him. They're busy building a future together when Bailey unexpectedly discovers she mated to the rising star of a rookie Bennett. And Bennett has spent his life land career looking up to Viggo. With moon cycles approaching the three have to make choices that affect all of their futures on and off the field.

STUNNING! If you’ve read a Sloan book before, you already know how amazing this is going to be. Sloan is known for her ability to write depth and nuance into diverse characters and fantastic, fun, devastating, and compelling contemporary romance as a whole (without sacrificing INCREDIBLE spice). With this debut monster romance, she delivered all of that again and more.
Sloan does such a good job of writing books that feel like they have something for everyone and this was no exception. I, personally, already love monster romance, but this would be such a fantastic entry into the genre for those who want to dip their toes in. For more experienced monster-lovers like me, this is the perfect intense but cozy read to remind you why you love this genre so much.
We follow Viggo, Bennett, and Bailey (two minotaurs and a human) as they navigate being thrust into (pun fully intended) an unintentional throuple when it comes to light that Bailey (Viggo’s fiancée) is Bennett’s mate (Viggo’s rookie rival). The three cross paths during a rugby match at the Clash of Creatures… which just so happens to coincide with the minotaur moon cycles 😏🔥
The story, the conflict, the chemistry, the SPICE, this has it all! I love these three characters so much, my only complaint is that I can never read this for the first time again.
I think this quote from the book sums up my experience reading this one pretty well “Fuck. Why does this shit turn me on?”

rucked by the minotaurs was such a fun, quick read! i absolutely loved the dynamic between the three main characters and the chaos of their relationship.
bailey is confident, powerful, and completely knows her worth. she’s a human who becomes fated mates with bennett, an absolute golden retriever of a minotaur who also finds himself falling for viggo, bennet’s foul-mouthed rugby rival. and viggo? he’s engaged to bailey. 😂🏉🐂
like??? the setup alone had me hooked.
there were SO many spicy moments, and the chemistry between all three of them was definitely there. i loved watching their relationships develop, but i did feel like the story moved a little too quickly and was missing that ✨something✨ for me. that could totally be because this is an interconnected standalone and i haven’t read the other books in the series, so i may have been missing some of the bigger picture.
that being said, i absolutely love sloan ambrose’s writing and the way she creates characters that become so captivating. even though the story felt a little rushed at times, i was still invested in these three and their very questionable, very chaotic situation.
i’d definitely recommend this one if you’re into why-choose romance, sports romance, fated mates, and golden retriever minotaurs who find themselves mated to a human who happens to be engaged to a foul-mouthed rugby rival. 🐂🏉🔥

I was able to read this book ahead of its release date thanks to the author and BookBuzz PR.
I would recommend this to someone looking for a spicy monster romance with mates and rugby. With relationship conflicts.

This is the second book in the Clash of Creatures series, a collaborative series with various authors. It can read as a standalone and out of order.
I was already a fan of Sloan Spencer’s writing, so hearing that she was dipping her toe into the monster romance genre under a new pen name, Sloan Ambrose, I was very excited.
For this being her first monster romance she knocked it out of the park for me. I devoured this book in one day. Literally refused to go to bed until I finished it. It was a perfect balance of sports, spice and plot. Bonus the FMC is plus size and there is some South Asian rep brought into the story through her and her family.
I already knew, Sloan Spencer can write good scenes that will bring up emotional reactions from me but I was still caught off guard when the book had me in tears more than once in this monster romance. The relationship conflicts between Bailey, Viggo and Bennet. Bennet’s backstory and his sister. Viggo and Bailey’s fertility issues. It was a roller coaster of emotions.
One thing I really loved about this book was that the MCs, for the most part, had good communication between each other. Bailey and Viggo got thrown several challenges but they managed to communicate and understand each other. They made compromises.
The second thing I really enjoyed was the spicy scenes. Sloan Ambrose understood the assignment when it came to monster spice. There were lots of spicy scenes thanks to the “moon cycle” taking place during this story. Many aspects of Minotaur spicy time were covered.
Plus she was able to give us: Daddy, Good boy, Sir, my wife and my mate all in one book. Add in the niche kinks and I was a very happy reader.
Overall, I could go on for pages with all the things I liked about this book. It was a great addition to the Clash of Creatures series and a great launch for Sloan Ambrose. I look forward to reading the third book in the series and more from Sloan Ambrose in the future.

I've read a fair number of monster romances in the last few years, but never one about minotaurs. I have been missing out! This was so hot and so sweet and such a fun read. I know literally nothing about rugby, but I would absolutely watch two enormous, sexy minotaurs play and be the biggest fan.
The writing style is quick and witty. I loved the alternate universe that Sloan created with creatures and humans living side by side, falling in love, and just "being."
Despite being a gigantic, tough-as-nails, rugby-playing minotaur, Viggo is the biggest simp for Bailey. From the first page, you can feel his devotion to her and the future they are building. He loves her deeply through the whole story, making room in their relationship for his rugby rival, Bennett, when Bennett and Bailey discover they are mates.
And can we talk about the spice for a second?? My god... I'm pretty sure I was beet red the entire time. And I loved every second of it. The dynamics between the three main characters is ELECTRIC and I never wanted it to end.

First of all, I love the way Sloan writes rugby romance. Even as a person who knows a decent amount about rugby, it’s so nice to see her with a glossary of terms and footnotes so readers don’t get confused.
It was so sweet to see how much Viggo and Bailey loved each other at the beginning 🥰 Then to find out she had a mate who wasn’t him? Juicy. And they both needed her for their rut?? Yes, please.
I felt like there was the perfect amount of acceptance, hesitance, conflict, and drama. It was a complicated situation that took some time to work through while simultaneously fucking each other’s brains out. Excellent 👌

If you love monster romance, or you just want a book that’ll have you blushing one minute and kicking your feet the next, you NEED to read this.
two hot Minotaurs rivals rugby player, a badass FMC. This the key for a perfect paring.
A nice amount of Rugby that even if you don't understand you'll still enjoy the story. It's more about each MC working through their individual insecurities and working together to figure what's best to do to meet each other's needs and wants.
Bailey finds herself caught between Viggo and his rival, Bennett, when fate decides that sharing might be the only option , and watching all that jealousy, tension, and chemistry play out was SO entertaining.

Viggo and Bailey have a wonderful life and are getting ready to get married after the CoC. Imagine their surprise when Bailey meets her fated mate Bennett.
This book is wonderful and had such an amazing story of love breaking and rebuilding into something beautiful. Sloan makes you feel for the characters and cry with them as they try and navigate their new relationship and feelings. The feelings each character went through felt real and raw. Seeing how each character related to each other was amazing as well.
But let’s not forget the spice and it was SPICY 🥵. From daddy kink to muscle worship during moon cycles which is a new take I LOVE. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series and just more from Sloan.

I cannot say enough good things about this book! Despite both sports and monster romance not being a "go to" genre for me, I'm in love with this story.
We have Viggo the possessive alpha and his beautiful independent bride to be Bailey is madly in love with him. They're busy building a future together when Bailey unexpectedly discovers she mated to the rising star of a rookie Bennett. And Bennett has spent his life land career looking up to Viggo. With moon cycles approaching the three have to make choices that affect all of their futures on and off the field.
If you like a cozy, sports romance with spice and a guaranteed HEA. This book is for you.
If you want to ease into monster romance but want to keep it light, this book is for you.

And all of that is discovered the day before their 'moon cycle', which is basically their rut (during which they get VERY horny). But aside all the horniness, there's a blossoming romance. Not just between Bailey and Bennett, but between Bennett and Viggo as well. In just 220 pages, Sloane manages to have us care about these three. I even shed a tear for Bennett.
Also, both guys are bi and have been with other guys before, which I absolutely LOVE. We love a good bi-rep in this house!

I loved Sloan Ambrose’s contemporary novels (written as Sloan Spencer) and I dare say her monster romance is even better! Rucked by the Minotaurs is an immersive world where humans and monsters live side by side. Viggo is a rugby legend who’s engaged to the love of his life, Bailey. Enter Bennett, a rookie on an opposing team, and their lives all take a turn. For me, Viggo is the star of this book and is truly precious and broody. He pairs wonderfully with Bailey who is a strong fmc (she needs to be to handle two Minotaurs!), and Bennett, a young, kind rookie. This is a book that you’ll want to read over and over (maybe with a side of lemon cake?)! So excited for more monster romance from Sloan Ambrose!

I don’t normally read monster romances but when Sloan Ambrose writes something I have no choice but to devour it as soon as possible. She knows how to get you to fall in love with her characters and feel emotionally invested in them within a few paragraphs.
I LOOOVE a grump, possessive, “only soft for her” MMC but I did NOT know I also love when he has a Hero Complex! I will never look at another bicep the same 😮💨😅
The way I was blushing through half of this book made it hard to be incognito in public. I mean with lines like “You’re her mate. She’s my bride. And I’m your Daddy.” COME ON!!! How am I supposed to not giggle and kick my feet at that!? I’m just a girl!!!
I can’t wait to see where Sloan goes from here with this genre, but if this was the intro!?! Y’all better buckle the hell up. She’s about to take off!

Veteran rugby player Viggo and his fiancée Bailey meet Bailey’s fated mate, Bennett. Bennett is a new player in rugby and Viggo’s rival in the Clash of Creatures (Olympics) rugby tournament. Viggo and Bennett clash and go into rut during the full moon and spend their rut with Bailey. Viggo is possessive of Bailey but was quick to accept Bennett into their full moon rut. The relationship develops quickly and they make life plans with each other after a short time. A lot cum and spicy, with an ocean/beach scene. The room accommodation for rut because governments treat rut as a medically covered event was an interesting concept. This is the first time I have read an MF couple adding an M and fated mate to only one of them.

A why choose AND a monster romance? Phew. 🤭 If you're in the mood for a spicy, rivals-to-lovers novella, this is definitely one to pick up.
Monster romance may not be for everyone, but honestly this story wasn't too "monster-esque" so this would also be a good one to start with if you've never read monster roms before.

Bailey and Viggio had life planned out, their wedding, careers and then it changed suddenly when Bailey’s fated mate shows up. This book has a really fantastic story line, great characters, a lot of rugby and a whole lot of chemistry and steam. Such a fun read.

Anything monster romance sign me up and this one was good, quick and spicy just how I like it, while still touching hard topics like: family dynamics and fertility. Highly recommend for a palate cleanser as a fast paced, low stakes romance.

Okay… I knew going in that this was going to be unhinged. Monster smut meets rugby sports romance?! I mean, SAY LESS! Sloan gives us two minotaurs, a human woman, and a fated-mates situation?! Yup, it is every bit as fantastic as it sounds! 😂
This was an incredibly heartfelt-yet-fun, spicy little monster romance that absolutely delivered on the wild ride I was hoping for. Bailey finds herself caught between Viggo and his rival, Bennett, when fate decides that sharing might be the only option (IYKYK 👀), and watching all that jealousy, tension, and chemistry play out was SO entertaining.
The MMF dynamic worked really well for me, and I loved watching the relationship develop beyond the physical attraction. There were some surprisingly sweet and tender moments mixed in with all the chaos, and those moments gave the romance so much more heart than I expected. I genuinely found myself invested in the three of them finding their happily ever after. And obviously… the spice was TOP NOTCH. 🥵

Ugh! I love when no one has to choose. Bailey, Viggo, and Bennett definitely go through it but the twists and turns of their relationship pay off in the best way. It’s fated mates and chosen love all combined. I loved the dynamic of Bailey and Viggo already being an established couple and then Bennett being thrown into the mix. Feelings were definitely running chaotic and it was messy but I loved it. I will also say that my lack of rugby knowledge didn’t even hinder my enjoyment of this story.

This was hectic, hot, and emotional, absolutely perfect. There wasn't a single dull moment, from the games to Viggo, Bailey, and Bennett figuring things out.
Even though it was a short read your able to really get a feeling of each character, Viggo and Bennett don't feel similar at all, and Bailey has personality. Them all together is really great, especially when Viggo was still learning how to be nice.
Then with getting to know them and the situation they're in, you get the hype of the games. I'm not a sports person, but it was actually fun to read.
