Age 8-12

The legacy of Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja continues in this sequel series about Max - Chase Cooper's great-great-grandson 100 years in the future!

My name is Max, and I'm Chase Cooper's great-great-grandson. My life is so lame that every day has started to feel like the same exact day... that is, except for today. The school science club dug up a hundred-year-old time capsule filled with all the usual stuff like books, movies, CDs... a letter that was addressed to me... from my great-great-granddad, Chase Cooper. Crazy, right? His message sent my friends and me on the weirdest scavenger hunt ever, taking us to parts of the school we didn't even know existed, all to find stuff that he had hidden when he was a student. It was the epic adventure I always wanted, but everything spiraled out of control and put my friends in horrible danger. Now I'm the only one who can save them before it's too late... hopefully it's not too late.

Middle School Ninja is a funny book for children ages 9-12, middle school students, and adults (who secretly never grew up).

I wish there was more

I wanted to know about Chase's future.such as, did he marry Faith? What else happened that weren't in the books? What about Zoe?? Like you could make this a series on it's own!

The tragically stupid beginning to yet another ninja series for middle school readers. The writing is still inane. The editing still lacks a lot. The characters are still... wow. But the language is mostly clean (some heck, nothing stronger).

An ok book

It was an ok read. Parts were dragged out and I didn’t like the ending. Characters needed more depth to them.

The book was a 5/5 in general but then I imagined Chase Cooper dead and that led it down by one star

Sid really enjoys this author a lot, and these books are fun to read out loud with him. This was pretty unique and imaginative, and while it clearly referenced a series we haven't read, we didn't miss anything essential. If you have a reluctant reader who like spies, robot, or ninjas, I definitely recommend Emerson's books. They're quite funny, and not afraid to get a little emotional. I loved that the protagonist in Legacy -- a sixth grade boy -- was unashamed to cry over falling out with his friend. There are plenty of engaging illustrations throughout, as well.

I love this series because it shows a kid who feels like they have no purpose but figures out he has a big potential. I want my brothers to read this book.
