Albertus Oak, Wittleshin’s premier plant-whisperer and most unlikely heart throb, has a problem: his neighbors are dying.
To discover who is bumping off the villagers Albertus must run the gamut of cowardly werewolves, incompetent mystics, paranoid trees and the indomitable ladies of the Women’s Institute.
In this hilarious head-scratcher of a cozy mystery one gardener will pit his horticultural wiles against the forces of murder, confusion and competitive baking.
If I highlighted every paragraph in this story that had a spelling and/or grammatical error in it, the whole thing would have been lit up like a Christmas tree. Seriously, how hard is it to get someone to proofread and edit your work? The story itself was actually quite unique and enjoyable (although a werewolf named Lupin seemed unoriginal) but the errors, including a character whose name changed through the course of the book, was really distracting.
Especially for a first book, I enjoyed this cute tale immensely. I loved that it kept me guessing to the end. Since I am a gardener myself, I Loved the earthy atmosphere of the mood and setting. Good job.
