If you've made it this far I don't need to rehash the plot, let's just say it's fab, as always. I tore through this in record time and as usual, now impatient for Day 19! Keep up the awesome work, this proves that some indie authors are a gem among the rough, sometimes literally. This series has it all, dive in and enjoy!
A bit up and down, but still pretty good! Some very funny parts but also some bits that dragged on.
There were a couple of points towards the end where the voices of the characters did not match the name, but to be fair, there are so many characters and different voices now that you have to give the narrator a break.
This is my favorite series to date. Love the characters, and just simply love the whole story line. Keep the books coming and I will most definitely keep reading. I want more......please. :)
Can't believe it's still getting better and better. Richard has an amazing awesome talent. The fluidity of the storyline and the characters never ceases to amaze me. Every book I think The Undead has reached it's pinnacle and can't be bettered..... And then I start the next book in the series and BAM!! It exceeds and out does all previous books! My goodness the story is so very complex, but in other ways so simple. I never want this to end, I feel completely and utterly in tune with both Richard and his characters. There are so many twists and turns the story never becomes tedious or boring just OMG!!! And more OMG!! I'm scientifically minded myself so find the whole base scenario absolutely fascinating. I also have dreams that come true and very occasionally visits from people she are no longer alive which goes against everything that makes scientific sense but I know what I've experienced is true, so when I read the almost unbelievable connections between the characters and storyline I say to myself "maybe it's not so unbelievable".
I hope this series continues as it is epic and so intellectually special (as far as I'm concerned) I think its criminal that Richard doesn't get the credit he deserves from mainstream publisher's. It just shows their lack of vision and acceptance of something overwhelmingly different and special.
Please Richard don't stop I will absolutely support your amazing talent. You've made me feel every emotion and be introspective about humanity in general and my own self awareness. Thank you so much B x
Day Eighteen is as good as all days. There were new issues and new characters were brought in and there were losses but the series is still going strong. I really love these characters because they all bring something to the fight. I like how Marcy and Reggie have evolved and became part of the group but for some reason I'm not really liking Mr. Howie as I did in the beginning. He's changed and doesn't seem as humble as In the beginning. I didn't like how he was treating Neal when all he was talking about previously was needing a Scientist. Still finding the fight scenes to detailed. I'm wondering if they'll ever be going back to the Fort and what's going on there? I will definItely be reading on.
The Undead Day Eighteen The Undead #18 Sci-Fi R.R. Haywood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The pacing was a little slow, mainly because the majority of the book was focused on Howie and his team travelling from one town to another as they tried to outsmart the Infection.
Reginald still annoyed me. He's meant to have a ridiculously high IQ but didn't speak up when something was wrong or try help the others plan for a long time. He only finally started to help more towards the end.
It was interesting when Neal, the scientist, finally caught up to Howie and the others. He stepped in to assist the new survivors without any fuss or hesitation.
The ending was ok. I'm curious about how everyone will react to the information Neal has and what it'll mean for their future.
When I started this series I never thought I'd still be reading it months on but I love it. I don't know how he manages to keep the story varied and developing but it's a cut above all the other repetitive zombie series I've read and I've stayed hooked.
The characters are great and develop strongly to be cared about and liked. There are moments when I genuinely laugh out loud and so many moments where I just can't put the book down. Definitely give this series a go. If it makes any difference I see it more as a drama and story about the lives of great characters than your average predictable zombie story. Love it!
This series continues to impress. It is dynamic, encapsulating, and just a downright, damn good story. The humor salt and peppered throughout this journey perfectly balances the dark nature of these novels. It is also my kind of humor which certainly helps ☺ and the characters are incredibly diverse and relatable . This series is impeccably well written while remaining unique and original to the "zombie/apocalyptic" genres. Thank you for this wonderful work. I hope to be reading Day 365 years down the road...seriously, it doesn't get old. Cheers.
So they become a real pack and “NB” finally catches up! I can’t wait to find out about “the list” and what he has to say! Yay for Reggie earning Meredith’s respect! That was huge! I loved this story and feel it’s back on track. I think that sometimes the jokes can get a little long though and also the.. descriptions? I think it could be edited to be more clear.
I haven't been able to put this series down for 2 weeks now. My hunger for more, much like that of the infected!
Brilliantly written, action packed and humour in all the right places. These books will have your heart racing, soaring and in your throat as you follow the survivors, becoming one with them.
I am completely hooked on this story. I've always loved dystopian/apocalypse books and The Undead is certainly one of my favourites. Can't wait to get such into day nineteen!
I don't like books or movies about zombies. Never pick up the books and change the channel when on the box. This series I love! Can't quit reading. The author tells it so very chillingly realistically. This one could happen.
Each book in the series is nonstop action! The plot and characters keep developing into a story I can't stop reading. Intense chapters I couldn't stop reading in the middle of. One of the best zompoc series I've ever read! 📚
Good storyline. Off to read a different author then back to young Haywood and Day Nineteen. I have to do this or else I will get to the latest book too quickly! Very addictive reading. Well edited, go back and fix the earlier books!
I would recommend this book to any lover of the zombie genre. Not only is it depicting the end of world apocalypse but it is fun and funny in equal measures.
Zombie is not my reading genre and have always avoided undead stories in the past. That is until this series and now I cannot stop reading Haywood's books. Lively, humorous, and so entertaining!
Much better, one of the annoying background characters has finally joined the team and its so much less tedious and the others have thankfully been forgotten.
