A picture book that tells the story of a young boy named Nicolas and what happens after he gets a splinter. This book captures the story that was recited to my son after “the splinter incident of 2010″. It was first told on a warm winter day in Charleston on the pergola that is steps from great-grandma’s back door on Daniel Island. After some mild prodding by my wife I wrote the story down. Then I made the mistake no manly-man should ever make; I sent a copy of the manuscript to my wife. She promptly shared it with a lot of people that I would have never-in-a-million-years exposed my silly little project to. Like her co-workers.Before I knew it my idea of following in my sister’s footsteps, doing a simple “vanity publishing”, fell by the wayside. I was now being prodded, a little more aggressively this time, to look into getting it “really published”. You know, like having SOME chance of seeing it appear in a bookstore or a library someday. Now my silly little project has taken a drastic turn and is dragging me into a world I know nothing about. Maybe I’ll write a story about that someday.Enjoy!
