Anika's life has finally fallen into place. She has a career she loves, an apartment that, while small, meets her needs, and a best friend that is helping her find someone to spend the rest of her life with, or at the very least someone to have a good time with.
Zeke is only on Earth long enough to make repairs to some salvaged equipment and relax with the local natives. Just a few, short weeks and then he, and his shipmates are on their way back to their home world. Then he catches Anika's scent and his wolf is gone.
Unable, and unwilling, to fight the instant attraction Zeke soon finds himself head over heels, but will the secret he's keeping cause him to lose his mate? Meanwhile, Anika has a secret of her own that could end up having a huge impact on the couple’s future.
Disclaimer: This story has several graphic sex scenes and some mild language.
Cassandra Logan lives in North Carolina with her husband of over fourteen years and their two young children. When she's not writing she spends her time reading, binge watching Netflix, and baking sinfully delicious desserts.
She is the author of the popular Twin Moons of Andove series and all the books it inspired. She has written and published over a dozen novels with plans to release at least one hundred more.
Cassandra has worked many different jobs in her lifetime, most in the lovely field of customer service, but by far her favorite job is author. Don’t tell her children.
Just OK for me...due to insta-love and too many coincidences. Made the whole thing a little far-fetched. The writing did keep me interested but the sex scenes got repetitive.
Between 2-3 stars for me, but I liked enough to round it up.
The whole plot was a little weird. Fairly strong insta-love (like I've said before, less of an issue for me with spn or sci-fi romance) but I still wish there was a little more to it. It was really the coincidences that got to me. Serious spoilers here.
The aliens were completely like humans, except they could shift. And I mean completely - slang, physical features, etc. Even names (Henri??) The only thing that might make them out of place was that Zeke wasn't up-to-date on TV shows. Oh, so weird and alien! It never felt like they were aliens, even with the final fight scene on a ship. Maybe in the next two books in the series, they'll end up leaving earth and things will seem more sci-fi-ish. As it was, it just felt like a shifter/spn romance, not an alien romance. I just feel like that would've been a better genre fit.
I did like the characters, which is why I still felt comfortable rounding up to 3 stars. I want to read Henri's story (besides the ridiculous name) because I love the quieter, mild speaking characters who are strong enough to - say - destroy planets. Think Hakkai from the Saiyuki series. Henri looks to be along those lines.
3rd person omniscient POV. It alternated between character's specific POV, mostly between the leads, but also had paragraphs from the three main supporting characters. The POV would also shift from one paragraph to another. I usually like alternating POV, but when it shifts so frequently and between so many characters, it becomes harder to follow, plus it loses the actual effect that you gain from the alternating views. Not my favorite narrative voice. Minor OW drama (serves as the trigger for a big plot point) but it was a little weird - I thought this girl was her friend? Yet more than once Morgan acts like a total B. Who actually acts like that in real life? No cheating or love triangle, though, just a bit of dramatic Mean Girl action. HFN ending. No cliffhangers for the main couple, but definitely some threads leading into the next books.
There is a lot of telling in this story. Instead of dialogue, what was talked about is neatly summarized more than once.
How aroused the characters are in this story is the focus even though it is supposed to be a fated mate story and the heroine is a virgin. The feverish groping was okay.
A few proofreading issues but the reader can figure out what was meant(chose for choose, kidnaped for kidnapped, etc). The run on sentences made the story harder to read. The comment made about everyone in America having tasted Japanese food was silly and very untrue. Also, she is top heavy but wears padded bras?
Four very deserved stars. Zeke, an alien who is also a wolf shifter comes to earth to do repairs. Across the hall from him lives a woman he has to have. That woman turns out to be his mate and just happens to not be human but comes from the same planet! The discovery that she was kidnapped by the man that raised her prompts her to seek revenge. A lot happens. A bit of action and the set up for two more books/stories in the series. I enjoyed that the books will be a standalone but with a connected storyline. For that I will continue. Well-written. A ton of dirty, sweaty and descriptive love making so read only if you do not mind a bit of smut. Recommended.
hot and flustered to all gooey inside. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy reading this one as much as I did. I thought it’d be a quick romp, wham bam thank you mam’ kind of thing but it was so much more. I loved the characters Zeke and Anika, their relationship dynamics and communication, and every angsty moment and cheesy line to pieces. Zeke is alpha male done right according to my books and I found the way the whole mating trope was done worth two thumbs up from me as well. I’m not into shapeshifter romance but it wasn’t taken to ridiculous extremes in this book so I was okay with it - there’s even a hint of mocking the whole thing and that made me chuckle twice, so yeah. Anika is cute and funny and she’s described as a relatable enough woman ( I could definitely relate to her curves). She’s written as a sexually freed woman and that felt both uplifting and empowering to read. Last but not least, Sasha is a cute sidekick of a friend to Anika, with sass and spunk to spare, and I loved how their friendship is portrayed - true bond and all. Overall a great, compulsive read with lots of nice gems, that has hooked me up into checking the rest of the series.
This was a freebie I picked up yesterday. It's a short 2 hr ish read. It was ok....There wasn't really enough in the story to fully develop the characters. It was a good start but just needed more depth. At times it was a bit hokey with the 'other plant-alien' thing. Can't say to much without spoilers but there is a development towards the end of the story that gave me one of those *seriously?? eye roll* moments. This is one of the books that if you take a second to think about it-it could have been great given enough room to grow and blossom but in the end it fell short for me.
This was better then I thought it would be. The plot is different from other Sci Fi romances and it keep me interested to no end. Zeke is hot and smart. Anika is sweet and shy. But when these two meet every thing changes for them. It was good!
DNF - quit at 23% I just couldn’t get into this book. The flow is really slow, the couple meets, but not much else has really happened by the point I quit. There was a lot of repetitiveness and a lot of being told things, from descriptions to what they are feeling. The dialogue is on then light side.
I enjoyed this book, it is the first in a series of books. The characters are well written and the story is entertaining, but it ends in such a way that you are left hanging, so to speak. I have read many books with cliffhanger endings but this book seems uncompleted, which I found annoying.
I really enjoyed this story! It had a good plot, an interesting group of characters and ended with enough intrigue to entice you into the next story, yet it was completed without having to if you were not inclined. Good job.
Really enjoying the story line. It kept me interested and ready for more. Would like to have had more about the alien planet and life. Book was too short.
Sci-fi abduction with a twist. Romance, some sex. Just the right amount of heat. First book was free. Now I am hooked! I have to read them all, you will too!
the novel again kept me entertained through out the whole book. this is an unexpected twist. to my continued reading of the author's s series. I loved the book.
I have no idea what is was thinking when I read Abducted the first time, because the note that I wrote at the end makes no sense to me because when I went back to skim the book, to refresh my memory, I found myself reading it completely again. My note simply said there were no edits jumping out to ruin the story and that nothing in the story really stood out as interesting. I can honestly say the first part is spot on, I found no edits which makes me happier than anything, however, there were a lot of interesting things that jumped out at me.
I found it interesting that the author didn’t come up with more sci-fi like names. Cassandra used names like Zeke and Anika although Dax and Ajax sound like plausible names for aliens but then again, I have not met any aliens, but it is on my bucket list, so it is rather unfair to say what is plausible and what is not. I mean Zeke makes me think of a red-neck farmer riding a big tractor not a computer geek alien while Sasha makes me think of a foreign spy or an opera singer and not an attorney.
The characters themselves were interesting but I think I really liked Sasha and Dax better for some reason. Don’t get me wrong the lead characters, Zeke and Anika are mostly likable and their bedroom scene were steam worthy but their friends were a bit more entertaining to read about when not reading the bedroom scenes especially Dax, he really knew how to push people’s buttons to get a major rise out of them. What I can’t decide is whether he has a self-preservation filter or not after the beating he got from Zeke, maybe the next book in the series will tell us.
Over all I liked Abducted and it was really nice to read a story and not have it turned upside down and inside out by editing issues so thank you Cassandra Logan. I do plan on getting the other 2 books in the series when time and book allowance grant it.

Enjoyed the book and would read more from this author- though I probably wouldn't read a story about Sasha. She was way too stubborn, hot headed, and infuriating. Being a strong female doesn't mean you have to be an unreasonable jerk. If I wouldn't want to talk to a character in real life, then there is no way I'd spend my time reading about them. Other than the way overbearing friend, it was a good read.
A whole planet of aliens who have a human form but can turn into different animals? Throw in two best friends who think they are human but aren't and only find out after having sex and you get an outlandish storyline with shallow characters. Pass on the second book.
WOW! This is the start of such a great series. Zeke and Anika are quite the couple. This novel has an interesting and complex plot. The plot is slowly being revealed along with character development. So much is going and the characters and plot are gradually being connected. Good Job, Cassandra Logan!
Wow that was so good. I just love the plot and the way the guys started interacting with what they thought were human girls, instead they turned out to be from their own planet.
Got this as a freebie download and I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters and the author pulled me right into the book. I want to read more of her work now.
