I certainly wasn’t expecting this book to be as hot as it was. I must say, I enjoyed it from the first page to the last. If you like BDSM erotic books, then you should check this one out. At just around fifty pages you will give yourself a one sitting treat that I reckon you wouldn’t want to miss!
We start with meeting Cameron. The man exudes sex and power, a very enticing combination. Good thing he is a co-owner at The Pit and can indulge in his decadent and delicious endeavors. Oh yes ladies, Cameron is a Dom. He’s not just any Dom, he’s been dubbed the “Prince of Pain”. But lately our dear Cameron is in a slump, and he can’t find that perfect sub.
Of course I love Cameron. Who wouldn’t?? In fact, one character sees him and is so taken aback by hist hotness that she can only exclaim, “holy fuck!” when she sees him. Oh, and then she refers to him as a man-god. I have to say, after reading this story I certainly agree. But who said those things? Well, Tilly of course.
Tilly has fallen on some hard times, but she won’t go down without a fight. This girl has a bit more fight left in her. And that is exactly what drew me to her as a character. You get to know her, you know she is hanging on by a thread – but she is hanging on. I love a tough woman character, one that will fight until the very end. But Tilly’s end isn’t exactly as near as she thinks it is.
When these two meet up it is explosive to say the least. And I mean that in so many ways, it is not even funny! Once you read the story, you will certainly understand. This story was very hot and super exciting. The author certainly has a way with words, describing Tilly as a “champagne eyed” beauty, and giving her the nickname of “little one” from Cameron. There is nothing I love more than an instant white-hot-can’t-fight-it attraction. I can’t wait to read more of the series (and its definitely getting a 5 star rating from me, so keep an eye out!)
Alright here goes my first mediocre book review….*sighs*. I did not care for these books and probably will not finish the series. I say probably because I have this awful curse of needing to finish things even if I don’t really want too. Its a real curse. These books popped up on my facebook newsfeed and it sparked my interest because well one it boasts BDSM & second it was written by a man. Most books I have read in this genre have been written by female authors. I thought this would be a change of pace. I’ll start with the positive. I liked the kink factor and sex scenes, they were erotic. I liked how Tilly embraces her submissive nature. What I had the hardest time with honestly is the length of the books. They were only short novellas. I read them both in less than 2 hours. I wished I knew more about why Tilly was homeless & willing to rob someone for food. I wanted to know more about Cam too. He apparently had been through a slew of subs but couldn’t find his mate. I really just wished for more. Another thing that stood out and I have never been to a sex club but the reason why this book is called the Pit series is because in the center of the club is a Pit type place. This is where the main shows occur. It just reminded me of gladiator style events. People would cheer, and laugh at the persons putting on the event. I all but expected them to throw tomatoes at them if they didn’t perform. In other books like Cherise Sinclair there were always various sex acts going on but comments by those watching were kept to themselves. I just perceived the sex acts to be intimate and not like a spectator sport. I do have voyeuristic tendencies and can appreciate a good show but to openly laugh at a scene or cheer for someone just doesn’t sit well with me. That’s just my opinion though. All that being said I am glad I tried it and I am not knocking the writing style at all. I just expected more to it. It did get great reviews on goodreads but I just have hard time with these brief books that are like this series. If Mr. Tailor wrote a few longer ones I would definitely try and read those. If you like Beth Kery then these books will definitely suit you more.
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
This is the first book in a series of short erotic novellas. I loved it!
Cameron Flint is an interesting character. He is a co-owner and Dom in a BDSM club. He acts hard, but he also has a softer side, and this appears when he meets Tilly.
Natalie (Tilly) is down on her luck; she has lost her job and home. She literally stumbles into Cam's life. She is an intriguing character. I liked meeting her. She is someone I could probably be friends with.
I have only one complaint - this book was too short! The story intrigued me. It is well written, but I wanted a bit more background information to get a bigger picture of the characters and their motivations, especially Cameron. I wanted to know what made him embrace the BDSM lifestyle. Hopefully, this will be explored during the series. I enjoyed the scene where Cameron meets Tilly. I don't know why, but it made me smile. I suppose it's because I could actually imagine that happening in real life. (Yeah, right!) ;)
Edward Tailor has written an spicy, exciting novella, and I am looking forward to reading more of this new author's work. As this is an erotic novella with scenes of BDSM and sex, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, if you love a steamy erotic read, this book is for you. - Lynn Worton
If it is not the subs, then it must be him. Either way, Cameron Flint is getting sick and tired of this feeling of futility.
Living on the streets and scrounging for food is bad enough, but the gun in her pocket makes Natalie Darrow feel like she has really hit rock bottom.
Terrified out of her mind and running for no reason, Tilly is in a situation that could end very, very badly. All she needs is some food and money, then she will be gone, yet not even her gun can persuade Cam to do what she says. Underneath the dirt and grime, Cam sees the woman he has been aching for. He will have to be very careful not to scare her off, but if his instincts are right, she could be the one.
Whoa, sit back and hold on, because this story just nails it! Tilly may be homeless and dirty, but do not let it fool you into thinking she is a doormat. Cam has a firecracker on his hands, even if she is a complete novice to BDSM. I have wanted to shake my computer when I reached page sixty-one, and the story just ends, so you better believe Part Two will be purchased immediately.
I am always on the lookout for a HOT novella for a quick and easy fix to my day. Cameron Part One of The Pit Series hits the spot.
Uber DOM Cameron Flint co-owns a BDSM club with his best friends Harvey and Hamilton (another pair of sexy DOMS.) Cam is having the worst luck finding a sub to call his own. He starts to think there is no woman out there that can handle his dominance.
"I've been told I'm good sweetheart, but I would never be pretentious enough to rate myself above the good lord."
Natalie Darrow aka Tilly has hit rock bottom. She has hit an all time low when she finds herself with a gun in her pocket, and no where to go. After a moment of desperation she finds herself in the arms of a gorgeous man who will change her life forever.
Part One is just the beginning for these two. I loved the instant chemistry between Tilly and Cam. Even in the face of danger with this woman, he was admiring how beautiful she was. I was a goner for Cameron right away. His sexy, alpha male, protective personality had me constantly wanting more.
With such an abrupt ending, I was so glad I had Part Two on standby.
Cameron is a Dom in need of a submissive who is worthy of his time and attention. Finding himself just going through the motions with the never-ending parade of females that frequent his BDSM club, he wonders if he will ever find "the one." Tilly has had a bit of a rough spell of late. She finds herself out of money and out on the street. Not knowing what she will do next or how she will continue on, she finds herself on the doorstep of Cameron's club. A set of unfortunate circumstances leaves Tilly at Cam's mercy and has Cameron wondering where this tempting creature has been all of his life. These two just don't create sparks; they sizzle and burn up the pages! If part one is this hot, I can't wait to see what Mr. Tailor has in store for us in part two. This is a definite must read and a great introduction to a new author!
Cameron Part One is an erotic tale about Cameron Flint a part club owner of The Pit and a Master Dom, and a desperate young woman, Natalie Darrow who stumbles onto the BDSM club one night. Immediately, their meeting is explosive! Cam is soon showing Tilly some of the wonders his club and he have to offer her. Although Tilly has no experience in the lifestyle, she quickly discovers that she likes it. What will Cam show Tilly next? Edward Tailor, where have you been? This is a deliciously hot erotic tale, sprinkled with humor and suspense. The characters are all easy to like and sexy as sin. Your writing style is unique and entertaining, allowing the reader to see inside the minds of the main characters. A great part for me was the cliff hanger at the end, where you left me breathless for more. Luckily for me...I don't have to wait!
This was my first read by author Edward Tailor. This is book 1 of the Pit series. The Pit is also the name of Cameron's BDSM club. I found the characters of the story very magnetic. I was drawn to Cameron 's protective Alpha personality as well as his genuine concern for Tilley even before he saw her in the possible role of submissive. The storyline is predictable of course in that Tilley and Cam work to see if they're compatible sexually for a D/s relationship. This is what BDSM is. I was drawn to the secondary story of intrigue with Tilley's story and how the characters handled it. Ready to read the next book of the series!
Very poorly written the story did little to hold my attention but I carried on because I hate starting a book and not finishing it, I really wished that I hadn't because it was a complete waste of my time. Trying to get past all the spelling errors was hard going, very little time or effort was spent checking this book before it was released which is critical and should be the first lesson in publishing 101 because of this it has discouraged me from reading any further books from this author. I would not recommend this to anyone!
In my never ending search for a great novella, I discovered Edward Tailor's Cameron Part 1. This story is only the beginning for Cam and Tilly. We find out a little about each of them and experience their first meeting among a few other things. You know they always say to end with a climax... *winks* The abrupt ending has me wanting more! I will definitely be watching for Part 2 and am looking forward to more from Mr. Tailor. I enjoyed this quick, sexy read.
I really liked this, the writing was done so well & the story had me hooked. I just found it needed to be longer as it ended to quick & in the middle of something.
