This is a review that has been long overdue. This is a sweet, touching story full of lovable characters (and some not so lovable villains) that reminded me much of "The Secret Garden," which I remember reading as a kid and enjoyed. The author does a great job creating beautiful imagery and developing relationships that are believable, and I adore the character of Nichtel. She's determined and courageous but also tender and loyal. This has the vibe of a fairy tale, which I love. I recommend this for anyone who likes romantic fantasy (and animal shape-shifters).

This is my debut novel; Nan Monroe is the name under which I write. I hope it will give pleasure to many.
