4.5 "little sun" stars <3
Blaéz was the epitome of a broken, tortured Hero. My god. My heart broke for him. The things he went through.. The things he had to suffer at the hands of evil... The devoid life he was living now.. It was one unfilled blackness.. He lost his emotions eons ago when his soul was stolen by evil powers. All was left was a vacant shell, a ruthless killer without emotion walking through the motions of eternity, each day felt the same as the one before.
"He was a soulless bastard. Emotions weren't his deal."
Not only that. He was a Guardian who sworn to protect mortals from supernatural evil. He was walking a thin line between good and evil.
The guy was a badass. With no emotions, you could only imagine the havoc this man could do to his enemies. No one wanted to meet him in a dark ally.
"It's the Detonator."
They had a name for him? Well, now. He sauntered closer. "If you mean can I blast you to smithereens with just a thought? I'm game to test that theory. Are you?"
Until .. One touch - one small touch was all it took for him to feel something again. One touch filled his gray world with vibrant colors.
From the moment Blaéz met our heroine - Darci, he was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Being around her ignited his emotions.. Smelling her scent woke up his doormat senses. Touching her... Made his whole body FEEL.
He knew he was bad for her, he knew that being around her - a mortal - was dangerous for her (especially when past evil was trying to lure him back to Hell).
He tried to stay away from her and do the right thing, he really did... But at the end, he couldn't stay away for long (Seriously, the guy held on for 2 days, then run back to her lol).
"She's human - an innocent, and he was a fucked-up deviant."
Our heroine - Darci - Was one hell of a strong woman. She was living in a gray world, surrounded by books and her small family. Her last relationship ended when the guy she was dated accused her of having a stone heart. She was never in love and always felt that something was missing in her life. Something was wrong..
"She must have been born with a defective love gene. Why else was it so hard to fall in love? Find a little happiness? Everyone did it at the drop of a hat."
At first, Darci tried to keep Blaéz at arms length. He was crushing into her mundane life like a blast of a hurricane, spinning her world on its axis. But she too, couldn't fight the pull towards this scary giant who she could see held a soft spot to her in his cold eyes.
"Oh god." Darci rubbed a trembling hand over her face. "What did I walk into?"
He stepped closer. "My life."
When the pull was hard to resist and evil lurked at every corner, Blaéz had no choice but to bring her back to the Guardian's castle. From that moment on, they had to face the hardest part of it all - maintaining this fragile new relationship.
"Who are you?"
I'm nothing but a husk of man who desperately needs you in his life.
This book had all the feels. It tugged on my heartstrings and I was feeling all kinds of emotions while reading it. Seriously, I felt like a ping pong ball with the way my emotions were all over the place while reading this book. One moment I was grinning to myself & laughing out loud. The next I was sitting at the edge of my seat, biting my nails. After I wanted to throw my kindle on the wall from anger and frustration. Then I was smiling happily again and feeling warm and fuzzy... And most importantly - I was SWOONING. I highlighted so much, I was sad I couldn't use them all LOL
"He was fiercely glad then that she'd been his first, would be his last... She was his everything."
Secrets, pasts collides and uncertain future - You got it all in this novel. I must confess - i was so damn scared how the author gonna wrap up the story. I had no idea how it all gonna end... I didn't see a way to end it with HEA for the long haul and I was biting my nails constantly, hoping this two soulmates would find their eternal Happy Ending...
"She was his one, his only. He didn't care how short their time together was, there would never be another for him."
How it all ended?
That's, you'll have to read for yourselves ;)
"You're my life. Don't take that away from me. We will find a way out of this. Trust me."
So why not 5?
Well.. This novel was pretty amazing. It was SAFE and I would take every other 'mistakes' as long as it had nothing to do with OW. (And the guy was a freaking Virgin - So he was automatically forgiven LOL).
But... I did felt like they spend too much time pushing each other away (Emotionally - Besides the pushing away at the beginning - Who lasted all 2-3 days - The couple were & lived together. No separations). So the pushing away was more emotional then physical. It took Blaéz a while to open up, and I understood that. The things he went through were too hard to think about, let alone say out loud. But I felt that sometimes, unintentionally, he hurt her feelings with the walls he put around his past, and frankly - it's not something I usually go for in my books. I love open H who has no problem sharing their past with their woman. So I did felt that this book was a bit challenging for me.
"It made him smile, something he hadn't done naturally in eons. By the heavens, to have her caring for him, it made the ice in his barren chest melt a little."
But I can tell with certainty - This book was WORTH all the emotional angst it put me through. This two had an Epic Love story that everyone should be reading about. It would be a hell of a ride - I won't lie - But at the finish line, your heart gonna be whole and filled with warmth and sunshine and butterflies <3

Now this was an awesome story! I loved it! I thought the pacing was so much better than the first book in the series. Plus it was LOADS steamier! I love the tortured hero Blaez and the heroine Darci. She really stuck by him even when he did some really boneheaded stuff. But she loved him and proved it many times over. Blaez was a great tortured hero. It was an emotional story that had me a little worried at the end. But I liked the little bit of angst.

"Scontro col destino" è il secondo volume della serie paranormale di Georgia Lyn Hunter di libri autoconclusivi che consiglio di leggere in ordine per capire bene gli avvenimenti e le storie di ciascuno dei personaggi. Bene e Male sono due facce della stessa medaglia che da sempre si fronteggiano, si fondono e cercano di prevalere l'uno sull'altro. Sono diametralmente opposti e incompatibili: la luce contro l'oscurità, il positivo contro il negativo, la forza divina che costruisce e la malvagità che distrugge. Il Bene e il Male non sono considerati assoluti, ma relativi: sono le nostre azioni, i nostri comportamenti che si identificano in una delle due facce inducendoci ad interpretare la natura delle nostre scelte. Ed è proprio di questi due fronti che parla questa serie paranormale avvincente e sempre più intrigante, che se nel primo ci aveva incuriosito, in questo ci ammalia completamente poiché se Aethan è un eroe alfa, Blaéz incarna la sofferenza, l’agonia e l’inquietudine. Già nel primo volume abbiamo conosciuto Blaéz, un personaggio abbastanza complesso che in questo secondo volume ci fa conoscere la sua storia, il suo passato e l’oscurità che adombra la sua anima. È un personaggio spezzato e torturato che cammina in bilico sulla linea sottile tra il bene e il male, un assassino spietato senza emozione che vive nell'eternità e che si trascina giorno dopo giorno senza una mèta, vivendo di dolore per poter sentire qualcosa che possa quietare la sua anima tormentata e corrotta. Insieme a Aethan, il protagonista del libro precedente, Blaéz è un guardiano che cerca di proteggere i mortali dal male soprannaturale che tenta di avvolgere il mondo nell'oscurità più tetra e di inghiottirla completamente. L’autrice ha delineato perfettamente questo personaggio complesso che è quanto più fedele ad un essere umano, con i propri turbamenti, il proprio dolore e con le conseguenze dei propri gesti e scelte, le cui azioni da protettore e guardiano si ripercuotono sull'intera umanità, sui singoli individui che abitano il mondo. La sua vita cambia quando arriva Darci, un'umana che riempie il suo mondo grigio di colori vivaci e dalla quale lui è completamente ammaliato come una falena attratta dalla fiamma. Darci la possiamo vedere come una eroina, che nel suo piccolo compie scelte coraggiose, rischiando la sua stessa vita per amore di Blaéz; una donna che non si è mai sentita veramente intera, la cui vita tranquilla e ordinata viene sconvolta dall'arrivo di un immortale affascinante. Lei è la donna che risveglia le emozioni del guardiano con un semplice tocco, uno sguardo e con il suo profumo, che lo rende dipendente dalla sua presenza, perché lui è combattuto con se stesso, con la sua anima oscura che potrebbe metterla in pericolo. I segreti del passato si scontrano con un futuro incerto, il dramma si fonde con la suspense che cresce pagina dopo pagina, come anche la presenza dell’azione che rende ancora più movimentata la vicenda insieme alle scene sensuali molto esplicite e al loro amore che sboccia come qualcosa di magico e speciale. Con la sua prosa scorrevole e intrigante l’autrice è molto brava nell'intrecciare il presente con i flashback che ripercorrono il passato di Blaéz e i ricordi rimossi di Darci, nel trasmettere al lettore emozioni contrastanti che alternano felicità e tenerezza, rabbia e dolore...

Excellent Story.
I have to say Georgia Lynn Hunter is amazing. The way she tells her stories is beyond outstanding. She doesn’t miss a beat. She keeps you coming back for more, eager to grasp a hold of the next scene.
I adored Aethan from book 1. He was an awesome alpha hero. But, it was different with this alpha. Blaéz was all about suffering. I felt his pain, his agony, his torture. This author put me there with him.
About three quarters into the story the drama took over. The suspense started to build. Then, the drama hit. The outcome didn’t look good, it was heart wrenching. The intensity of the sacrificial scene, the song Blaéz played for Darci, and his dance with her moved me to gasp. All I could think was ….OMG, OMG, NO NO NO, this can’t happen. No spoilers here, you’ll have to read the book. Excellent Read!

I LOVED Breaking Fate!!!
Georgia Lyn Hunter writes with energy and passion! Breaking Fate is filled with emotion, sensual desires, and hard hitting action. The mc, Blaez is an immortal guardian sent to earth to protect humans from demons. He's powerful, dark, and sexy, and has no soul. His only way to feel anything is through pain, and he definitely likes to feel pain. Until he discovers Darci, then he's starting to feel...something.
To explain more fully about the immortal guardians, here's the exact quote by Echo talking to Darci, “When they—the warriors—were freed from Tartarus, they landed on this realm. Banned from the pantheons, they had nowhere else to go. So Gaia recruited them as her Guardians, and in exchange for their allegiance, she gifted them with those mystical swords. It’s her way of always making sure they’re armed in the never-ending fight against supernatural evil. Of course, evil is more focused now on what it wants, mostly to end the Guardians, so they can have free rein and take over earth—”
If you desire a hard hitting, emotionally charged, romantic paranormal fantasy with an excellent storyline, I highly recommend Breaking Fate!

Amazing!!!!
I think this was my favorite in the fallen guardian series! Wow...just wow!!! I loved everything no negatives at all, great work I can't wait until the next one comes out... So I guess there is one negative is the waiting to read the next in this beautifully done series! I love Georgia Lyn hunter;) I give this book 10stars! A must read especially if you love bad ass men;)

oggi vi parlo del secondo volume della serie Fallen Guardian di Georgia Lyn Hunter, edito in Italia dalla Hope Edizioni col titolo Scontro col destino.
Vi anticipo che il mondo dei guardiani caduti creato dalla Hunter mi ha incantata già in L’ultima resa, che è il primo capitolo della serie.
Protagonista di questo secondo volume è uno dei personaggi che abbiamo già avuto modo di conoscere, Blaéz, un glaciale guerriero un tempo Dio Celta. Abbandonato in fasce e cresciuto da una serva, Blaéz scopre, solo dopo aver assunto il ruolo di combattente al servizio della famigerata Dea celtica Morrigan, di essere in realtà suo figlio. Reo di aver fallito in un compito affidatogli, il guerriero viene confinato nel Tartaro e sottoposto a indicibili torture. Come il primo volume della serie, anche questo è ricco di scontri e di passione. Le scene d’amore, pur essendo molto esplicite, risultano ben dosate e quindi non disturbano la lettura, anzi gli conferiscono quel gusto piccante che molte lettrici apprezzano.
Devo ammettere che ho una preferenza per i personaggi algidi e dal passato travagliato, quindi ho amato Blaéz sin dalla sua prima apparizione. Ripudiato dalla madre e torturato per millenni, questo guardiano è in continua lotta con se stesso. Ha giurato di difendere i mortali ma la mancanza di un’anima lo tiene continuamente in bilico tra il bene e il male e lo espone al richiamo dell’Inferno. L’autrice ha dipinto benissimo questo personaggio complesso, spezzato ma capace di un’estrema dolcezza nei confronti della sua compagna, svelando pian piano attraverso dei flashback tutti i retroscena dei suoi tumulti interiori.
Lo stile narrativo è scorrevole e il filo conduttore della saga, al di là delle vicende che coinvolgono i singoli personaggi, è nel complesso intricato e intrigante. Personalmente apprezzo molto le serie basate su più protagonisti e quindi sono stata felice di trovare questo gruppo di maschioni immortali rudi, possessivi ed enigmatici. In ogni volume scopriamo qualcosa di più su ognuno di loro e quindi attendo con ansia la prossima uscita, nella speranza che la Hope Edizioni non ci faccia attendere molto.
Una saga, quella dei Fallen Guardian della Hunter, che per ora sembra non aver nulla da invidiare a quelle di altre famose autrici come la Ward, la Kenyon o la Adrian. Consigliatissima!

oggi vi parlo del secondo volume della serie Fallen Guardian di Georgia Lyn Hunter, edito in Italia dalla Hope Edizioni col titolo Scontro col destino.
Vi anticipo che il mondo dei guardiani caduti creato dalla Hunter mi ha incantata già in L’ultima resa, che è il primo capitolo della serie.
Protagonista di questo secondo volume è uno dei personaggi che abbiamo già avuto modo di conoscere, Blaéz, un glaciale guerriero un tempo Dio Celta. Abbandonato in fasce e cresciuto da una serva, Blaéz scopre, solo dopo aver assunto il ruolo di combattente al servizio della famigerata Dea celtica Morrigan, di essere in realtà suo figlio. Reo di aver fallito in un compito affidatogli, il guerriero viene confinato nel Tartaro e sottoposto a indicibili torture. Great series
I just stumbled across this series a few days ago, and have already read the first two books (just downloaded the third) I got to say that this is an amazing series by a truly talented writer. Can't wait to read more from her.

Buon anno, lettori!
Dopo pranzi e cene festive, per cui ho avuto poco tempo per dedicarmi alla lettura, ho finalmente concluso la mia prima lettura del 2020.
Voglio parlarvi di “Scontro col Destino”, secondo volume della serie “Fallen Guardian” di Georgia Lyn Hunter, uscito il 7 gennaio grazie a Hope edizioni.
Blaéz è un Guardiano che non prova emozioni da quando è stato prigioniero all’inferno e un demone gli ha portato via l’anima.
Per provare qualcosa combatte fino a provare dolore, procurandosi gravi ferite. Ma questo comportamento lo rende pericoloso per gli altri e per se stesso. Durante una perlustrazione salva un giovane ragazzo umano, ma quando porta a casa il ragazzo trova una persona che gli cambierà per sempre la vita.
Darci Callahan gli farà riprovare sensazioni ed emozioni che credeva di aver perduto per sempre.
Darci è una donna che crede nell’amore ma che ha avuto sempre sfortuna, eppure sogna accanto a sé qualcuno che la ami e che la renda felice.
Di certo l’uomo tenebroso e vestito di pelle che le si presenta alla porta di casa non è il candidato ideale, ma le sensazioni che le fa provare sono uniche e inconfondibili.
La loro vicinanza potrebbe mettere Darci in pericolo; verrà trasportata in un mondo a lei sconosciuto e in cui avrà un ruolo fondamentale.
Potrà questa anima persa e ferita trovare finalmente la pace grazie alla donna che con un semplice sguardo lo fa sentire vivo?
Anche in questo romanzo l’autrice non mi ha delusa!
Tocca al misterioso guardiano celtico Blaéz trovare la sua anima gemella.
Tutto ciò che sappiamo di lui è che ha sofferto ed è pericoloso, ma anche autodistruttivo.
Per provare qualcosa oltre all’apatia lotta fino a farsi del male e solo nel momento in cui riesce a provare dolore si ferma.
In questo romanzo scopriremo la sua storia, cosa lo ha reso così e se troverà mai una soluzione.
Quello che vi posso dire su questo personaggio è che quando Darci scatenerà in lui tutte le sensazioni e le emozioni che era incapace di provare, vi sorprenderà e conosceremo un personaggio nuovo, di cui sarà difficile non innamorarsi.
Dal canto suo, anche la protagonista si farà notare e amare dal lettore, poiché non è una fanciulla indifesa ed è pronta a lottare per ciò che prova e per Blaéz.
La loro storia non inizia subito dopo il loro primo incontro. All’inizio entrambi cercheranno di tenere l’altro alla larga, lei per proteggersi da un’ulteriore delusione e lui per proteggerla dai suoi demoni.
Ma la loro attrazione renderà difficile tenere le distanze e quando altre forze cercheranno di metterli in pericolo, Darci e Blaéz saranno più vicini che mai.
“Le emozioni fluirono e lo fecero barcollare. Cristo, non gli importava più niente delle conseguenze. Aveva smesso di scappare via da lei.”
Sono una coppia ben affiatata e come potete intuire ci regaleranno bei momenti. Come ben sapete, la storia d'amore non è l'unico tema di questo romanzo; la battaglia tra i Guardiani e i Demoni è ancora in atto ed è senza esclusione di colpi.
Scene bollenti e colpi di scena non mancheranno neanche in questo secondo volume, per non parlare delle scene di azione.
È una lettura scorrevole e coinvolgente che vi terrà incollate al libro.
Cos’altro posso dirvi? Di iniziare subito a leggerlo!
Quindi buona lettura e ci vediamo nel prossimo libro, che avrà come protagonista Dagan.

Blaéz and Darci
This is a fantastic book. Blaéz has always interested me in the other book. I wondered why he liked to be hurt. We find out in this book and it is haunting and heart wrenching. Blaéz finds a teenager being beaten at his underground fight club and after saving him takes him to his Aunt Darci’s house. The minute Blaéz meets Darci he is attracted to her. In fact, he can’t stay away from her. She actually makes him feel. That is something he has not done since his time in Tartarus. There are lots of secrets revealed about Blaéz and Darci and it could cost Darci her life. There is lots of demon fighting, families fighting, hot steamy scenes and a tissue warning. I was ugly crying at certain parts. Loved this one!

Blaéz is an Immortal Guardian, but his past has kept him in pain and torture for so long. He meets Darci when her nephew gets himself into some trouble, and their immediate connection is felt. They were destined to find each other somehow, but will they be able to stay together? The evil forces here (I hate Maloch!!) have kept Blaéz chained to his duties, but can Darci save him? Can he save Darci? Amongst the action and the good versus evil battles, there was also so much heartache! My heart hurt for these two, their pain and suffering, their lives hanging in the balance. But I loved this book, and it's going to be hard to top this one in the series!

An enchanting world of danger and darkness, Hunter captivates with her sexy tale of fallen gods, demons, and forbidden love that conquers all.
Imagine if you will a broken hero (you know the ones we all love!!), one that was tortured for ages and left a shell of a man. One who goes out of his way to hurt himself just so he can FEEL. That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Blaez. He was left an emotionless shell, a Guardian with a single purpose--to kill. Now, imagine trying to write that! A hero without emotion. One with a very, very important job, with people who depend on him, and all the while he can only pretend... I was worried. After all, how do you properly portray a hero who has no soul, no emotion? I shouldn't have worried! I instantly liked Blaez, and when he me finally meets Darci and he literally blossoms it was something truly magickal to behold!
And then there's Darci. She never really felt whole herself. Sequestering herself away with her books, keeping almost everyone at arm's length. And then her quiet, ordered, proper life gets blown to hell by this sexy as sin Immortal, who quite frankly, is an a$$h*le. Watching her fight and claw to keep her order, but letting herself feel what just seemed to come naturally between her and Blaez was awesome. I really related to Darci, and I think a lot of other readers will, as well.
So all in all, what do you get with Breaking Fate? I pretty much said it all in my opening sentence, but it will definitely tug at your emotions. All of them. I laughed, I raged, I worried, I swooned (seriously, the quote-worthiness of this book is insane!) and when all was said and done, I felt utterly satisfied, and that's what you want when you read a good book, right? Some readers might not like the tennis match of emotions, but that's what I look for in a good read. I WANT to be made to feel, and all sorts of things...

Great story
This book was great!! I loved Darci and Blaez! They were great characters. Blaez lost his soul in Tartarus and when he meets Darci he starts feeling again, but only when around her. He doesn't know why but he can't stay away from her. They have to deal with the fact that Blaez still gets called to tell because of his lost soul and all that it means. He has kept secret from a lot of people and they come out. Blaez doesn't feel worthy and thankfully Darci sees to the heart of the matter. I loved how they interacted and how the relationship was built. Yes Blaez tries to keep secrets but they are understandable ones considering what he's gone through. There is a lot of action in this story to keep your attention and wondering exactly how things will go down. I love getting to see the other guardians and getting to know them better. I'm excited to get the next story. The sex is explicit and fairly frequent. It was very well done and fits the characters and the story. There is plenty to enjoy in this story.
This is the second book in the series and while it will stand alone for the most part I would still recommend reading the first book first. It will help things to make a little more sense and you will get the full enjoyment if you have.

Fallen Guardian è una serie Paranormal Romance / Urban Fantasy ben strutturata, con protagonisti delle divinità del pantheon sumero, celtico e norreno, cadute nel nostro mondo. Capitanate dall'arcangelo Michael, queste divinità, dette Guardiani, sono destinate a proteggere la razza umana dalle forze del male; i demoni vivono in mezzo a noi, i Guardiani riescono a riconoscerli, dunque sono pronti a intervenire nel caso in cui abbiano cattive intenzioni. Quel che non vi ho ancora detto è che i Guardiani sono dei guerrieri belli e impossibili, ognuno con un difficile passato con cui fare i conti (sono caduti dal pantheon per un motivo preciso) e un tormento interiore. Chi salverà loro? L'amore, ovviamente! Portato da ragazze umane che nascondono qualcosa di speciale.
Nel primo volume "L'ultima resa" il guerriero protagonista era Aethan, e il cuore mi aveva battuto forte nell'attesa che si lasciasse andare con Echo: una storia d'amore che colpiva perché molto trattenuta dalle emozioni che Aethan si portava dal passato, e per via del potere immenso e letale che lo contraddistingue.
In questo seguito il protagonista è invece Blaéz, il Celtico, che non è proprio tormentato, ma peggio, dannato. Ciò che ha subìto nel Tartaro lo ha reso incapace di provare emozioni, e l'unica capace di spezzare il vuoto che ha dentro è quella legata al dolore: coi guardiani combatte i demonii, ma nelle lotte clandestine si lascia pestare e ridurre in uno stato pietoso. Una sera, la sua consuetudine è spezzata per salvare un ragazzino dalla lotta in gabbia; riaccompagnandolo a casa incontra la sua giovane zia, Darci, e inspiegabilmente, guardandola, prova qualcosa... Ma l'effetto svanisce quando si allontana da lei. Che cos'ha, la formosa bibliotecaria ventisettenne single, di così speciale? Tranquilli, non si tratta di insta-love, colpo di fulmine e quant'altro: c'è dietro una motivazione precisa e la scoprirete verso la fine del libro!
Quegli occhi vuoti, inquietanti, si strinsero. No, non vuoti; qualcosa di più profondo, più oscuro, si muoveva in quelle gelide profondità. La diffidenza le strisciò lungo la schiena, scacciando la sua belligeranza. Fu travolta da un dejà vu confuso. Ebbe la sensazione di aver già visto quegli occhi.

E inalò con disperazione un'altra boccata del suo profumo.
Si notava quanto fosse sotto schock?
Diversamente da Aethan, Blaéz non può provare emozioni, dunque la sua storia con Darci si dimostra fin da subito più fisica. Sono diverse le scene di sesso esplicite e descritte nei particolari, dove Blaéz si dedica a Darci vivendo le sue sensazioni di riflesso, ma le scene risultano bilanciate anche grazie al punto di vista della ragazza, più sentimentale; siamo fortunatamente lontani dal concetto di "50 sfumature di Grigio" perché il sesso in questo libro è, come nel precedente, una sorta di "cura emotiva", nonché parte integrante e componente fondamentale della trama. L'autrice sembra volerci dire che il sesso non è solo un atto istintivo ma qualcosa di sacro e potente, e ancora una volta è riuscita a regalarci una storia insolita e sorprendente, dove amore e passione convivono nell'animo dei protagonisti.
Nella nuova coppia Blaéz è senza dubbio il più carismatico dei due, mentre Darci si mantiene interessante per via dei suoi tormenti che vanno dalla famiglia (fratello e cognata in difficoltà coi figli) fino a orrorifiche visioni! Occorre avvicinarsi alla fine perché tutte le verità siano rivelate, e nel frattempo vi troverete a elaborare le più fantasiose teorie. Personalmente ne ho azzeccata una, ma l'ho capita giusto un capitolo prima, quindi il mistero sa mantenersi piuttosto saldo fino al momento decisivo.
Lo stile dell'autrice alterna il punto di vista di Blaéz e Darci anche all'interno della stessa situazione, perciò il libro si legge avidamente; è scorrevole e linguisticamente semplice. Ogni tanto presenta dei brevi flashback o visioni che spezzano il ritmo per poi farlo accelerare, ma nelle scene d'azione ho notato qualche lacuna che mi ha impedito di capire bene i loro movimenti. Dal punto di vista sentimentale, invece, c'è una cura maniacale nel tracciare la personalità dei protagonisti.
La parte finale è una continua sorpresa, e sembra di essere saliti nell'ottovolante delle emozioni: cadute a non finire, risalite, discese ancor più ripide e rapide e infine... l'inaspettato. Un finale quasi da favola (una scena in particolare mi ha ricordato La Bella e la Bestia) che farà battere il cuore alle lettrici più romantiche.
Il volume conclude la storia sotto ogni aspetto, dunque si potrebbe considerare autoconclusivo, ma se si vuole avere una visione completa della realtà immaginata dalla Hunter, nei successivi si approfondiranno sicuramente quegli indizi che sono stati lasciati qua e là già dal primo volume.
Consiglio questo libro alle donne forti e passionali stufe delle storielle facili (in tutti i sensi, sia nei libri sia reali!), così come lo consiglio alle romantiche lettrici adulte che sognano ancora di trovare il Grande Amore, che non si tirerebbero indietro nemmeno se si trattasse di un uomo appena risalito dall'Inferno. Perché le ferite dell'anima si possono guarire, se credi nell'amore.
Nel primo volume "L'ultima resa" il guerriero protagonista era Aethan, e il cuore mi aveva battuto forte nell'attesa che si lasciasse andare con Echo: una storia d'amore che colpiva perché molto trattenuta dalle emozioni che Aethan si portava dal passato, e per via del potere immenso e letale che lo contraddistingue.
In questo seguito il protagonista è invece Blaéz, il Celtico, che non è proprio tormentato, ma peggio, dannato. Ciò che ha subìto nel Tartaro lo ha reso incapace di provare emozioni, e l'unica capace di spezzare il vuoto che ha dentro è quella legata al dolore: coi guardiani combatte i demonii, ma nelle lotte clandestine si lascia pestare e ridurre in uno stato pietoso. Una sera, la sua consuetudine è spezzata per salvare un ragazzino dalla lotta in gabbia; riaccompagnandolo a casa incontra la sua giovane zia, Darci, e inspiegabilmente, guardandola, prova qualcosa... Ma l'effetto svanisce quando si allontana da lei. Che cos'ha, la formosa bibliotecaria ventisettenne single, di così speciale? Tranquilli, non si tratta di insta-love, colpo di fulmine e quant'altro: c'è dietro una motivazione precisa e la scoprirete verso la fine del libro!
Quegli occhi vuoti, inquietanti, si strinsero. No, non vuoti; qualcosa di più profondo, più oscuro, si muoveva in quelle gelide profondità. La diffidenza le strisciò lungo la schiena, scacciando la sua belligeranza. Fu travolta da un dejà vu confuso. Ebbe la sensazione di aver già visto quegli occhi.

An amazing Author that created a World that evoked all my senses & emotions. The intense pain Blaez endured and only Darci could release him. I felt every hideous infliction upon him. I had to set the book aside for a few days as I cried for Blaez. I am sure Georgia Lyn Hunter felt everything Blaez endured. Characters so well entwined. Captured me from the first page. Fantastic. The Fallen Guardian Series will sure make an amazing TV Series.... More Of Your Amazing Books. If only they can be released as fast as we read. Damn You Are Awesome

Hot, sensual and sexy! The author has done an amazing job, this book has it all, edge of my seat, nail-biting suspense, and a plot that grabbed my attention from the first page. Hunter has out done herself again.Fantastic series~ Do yourself a favor and read this series !!!!

Eccoci qui con il secondo appuntamento di questa serie urban fantasy e, protagonista a questo giro, Blaéz il celta.
Un uomo criptico, freddo come i Mari del nord direbbero altri.
Da quando è tornato dal Tartaro nulla è stato come prima, le sue emozioni sembrano non esistere, tutto lo spettro emotivo si riduce ad una singola emozione: il dolore.
Di quest'arte nulla gli è precluso, sa come infliggere dolore, come uccidere, come ridurre il nemico ad un cumulo terrorizzato e, ancor più, come provare qualcosa, come dirottare nella giusta direzione i suoi pensieri.
Come? Combattendo.
Non solo contro i demonii, ma combattendo al punto da ridursi lui stesso a una massa sanguinante.
Proprio in una di queste occasioni la sua buona azione, ricondurre un umano, che si trovava al posto sbagliato nel momento sbagliato, dritto alla porta di colei che gli rivoluzionerà il mondo.
Dopo millenni nel più completo buio, risentire qualcosa è qualcosa di dolceamaro, qualcosa di cui non si capacita. Non a pieno almeno.
Se dapprima cerca di combattere la cosa in ogni modo, ancora non ha idea di cosa gli accadrà quando lascerà tutto perdere.
Aveva rovinato un momento che avrebbe dovuto essere perfetto. Perfetto? Che stronzata. Non c’era niente di perfetto nella sua vita… tranne lei.
Darci nella vita ha sopportato molto, ma di una cosa è sempre stata grata: la famiglia che ha, l'affetto per i suoi cari.
Suo fratello poi è la sua roccia, così come suo nipote una sua estensione, e sua cognata... la sorella che non ha mai avuto.
Farebbe di tutto per loro, senza doverci neppure pensare su.
Quando uno sconosciuto le porta il nipote, la sua visuale si riduce a un unico punto: lui.
E diciamocelo pure, Blaéz non è abituato ai no, a rincorrere la preda, ma quando si ritrova davanti a Darci è del tutto impreparato a cosa gli stia accadendo, al punto che l'inevitabile accade, le buone impressioni vanno al diavolo e tanti saluti alla galanteria.
Mai la strada di un immortale e di una mortale si sono incrociate così tanto e mentre Blaez si ritrova a combattere per salvarla da un mondo che non avrebbe dovuto mai conoscere, Darci si ritrova a combattere per qualcosa di molto più prezioso.
Perché solo con lei il suo cuore aveva reagito come se fosse stato attaccato a un defibrillatore? Perché solo con lei aveva provato qualcosa? Era un bastardo senz’anima.
A caldo scrivo questa recensione, le emozioni ancora molto vive in me e wow, che dire, una bomba. I punti di vista, sempre in terza persona, si susseguono per tutta la durata del racconto, mettendo alla luce non solo il mondo in bianco e nero di Blaez, ma anche le sfumature di cui quello della protagonista è saturo.
Ogni capitolo un colpo al cuore, un tassello messo e levato, in attesa del compimento dell'opera finale, qualcosa capace di mozzare il fiato, perché è così che ho vissuto questo urban fantasy, qualcosa di cui necessitavo, assolutamente.
Per chi ama gli urban e in particolare le storie di demoni e di redenzioni, questo è un libro che non vi può mancare dal momento che è qualcosa di non solo accattivante, ma anche avvincente.
Le pagine scivolano via, il tempo scorre senza mai pesare, al punto che il lettore potrebbe effettivamente non rendersene conto, proprio come è capitato a me.
In pratica? Un must have nella mia libreria.

After finishing the first book in this brilliant series I had to read more. I was so glad I did, this second book in the Fallen Guardians series was as exciting and mesmerizing as the first book.
This book concentrates on Blaéz, one of the guardians who were banished to Earth to look after the mortals and protect them from the Demons and Demonii that would come to kill the mortals. He lives in a beautiful castle on its own island with his fellow guardians. All of the guardians were super alpha males but all different in many ways. Blaéz had his soul taken from him by Maloch a demon from the underworld, and as such was unable to have any feeling and seemed cold and heartless.
Darci was a librarian, one night there was a knock on her door when she opened it there stood her nephew, Daniel, he was covered in blood and dirt. Behind him was the most amazingly built man she had ever seen, even the bruises couldn't take away from his good looks. It was only when she reached to help Daniel into her house, her hand brushed the giant that she felt the electricity shooting through her arm. What she didn't realise at the time He had felt it too.
They shared a bond that could not be broken, but others didn't share their optimism, people didn't want them together, their fight would be a hard one, could they come out of this battle as strong as they went in? Would their love survive?

Scontro col destino è un romanzo capace di confondere il lettore e farlo innamorare allo stesso tempo, ogni personaggio a determinate caratteristiche che te lo fanno amare oppure odiare, Blaéz invece mi aveva affascinata, il fatto che ci fosse sempre per i suoi amici, ma al tempo stesso nascondeva in se molta sofferenza. Lui è un personaggio complesso ma al contempo fragile e determinato.

Sono felice che in poco tempo sono riuscita a terminare anche questa nuova lettura, sempre scorrevole e mai ripetitiva da suspance a non finire, oltre al fatto che mi è sembrato di rivevere alcune scene di Twilight e Eclipse ed un termine che usa Blaéz per la su Darci. Mi ha coinvolto in ogni momento, catturandomi in ogni personaggio e nelle loro avventure, non pensavo che un tipo come Blaéz potesse aver sofferto così tanto e ancora continuasse per colpa di un maledetto Demonium; certo inizialmente cercavo di capire che ruolo avesse Darci, perchè Blaéz in sua presenza era così diverso, e perchè solo con lei provasse le emozioni ma quando l’ho scoperto è stata una vera sorpresa. Darci mi ha colpito davvero come personaggio, rispondendo più che bene ad ogni rivelazione che Blaéz ha fatto, molto più rispetto ad Echo, che lei stessa ammette. Una ragazza dolce che ha fatto ogni cosa pur di avere una vita, non mi aspettavo il suo gesto coraggioso verso Blaéz una volta scoperta la verità, ma probabilmente avrei fatto lo stesso per salvare la persona che amo, avrei fatto ció che ritenevo giusto e Darci questo ha fatto dimostrando un grande coraggio. Blaéz che per poco stava per perdersi nuovamente grazie a Darci ha ritrovato davvero sè stesso. Ma ció che mi ha spiazzato più di tutti è stata la Morrigan, del suo modo di operare la conoscevo già attraverso altri libri, ma in questo mi ha spiazzato davvero, sebbene speravo che intervenisse nel momento in cui si fossero uniti, a volte il destino riserva delle grandi sorprese

This book… wow! Georgia Lyn Hunter has left me completely speechless. The twist at the ending was completely unexpected. And while I had some idea of where the story was going, I definitely did not see the events happening like they did. While the story can easily be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading book one first to get more of the background. I loved book one, and this one completely blew me out of the water!

Breaking Fate was the best book I have read in a long time. I fell in love with Blaez literally wanted him. Wow and Darci was great also. There were times I wanted to cry and I didn't want the book to end. The first book in this series want as good. I bet I read it again.LOL

Just gets Better
Oh my goodness what an exciting time. I could not put this book down. In fact, tnis my 2nd time ready this and im still enthralled. On to the next one.. I love this series!!!

This book is well written, every emotion you can think of is in the pages, words flow and develop into any amazing story!! Will Darci and Blaze get their happily ever after or will the powers that be, be their destruction?
