Set in Thailand's seedy underbelly, in Russell Blake's Jet - Betrayal, Jet rescues a ten-year-old girl named Lawan from Bangkok's red light district. Jet Rescue explores more of that story from Lawan’s point of view, chronicling her time at the Top Cat Club and her escape with Jet and Matt.

i received this in exchange for an honest review from kim herself. wow. this one i could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. Wow. I hope there is more volumes. I loved it. I felt sad happy and then sad. this is a must read.
Cano rewrote a troubling episode from Blake’s second book in the series, Jet – Betrayal. It’s troubling because it’s about forced child prostitution in Bangkok’s notorious red-light district. Former Mossad agent Maya, code-named Jet, is chasing a quarry hiding in the jungles of Myanmar, or Burma. She begins by infiltrating a sex club in Bangkok, Thailand, where some of the favourite selections are children, including a 10-year-old girl named Lawan.
It’s a heartbreaking part of the action-adventure series, and Kim Cano has taken it and scored a touchdown. She presents the whole episode through the eyes of 10-year-old Lawan, and manages to craft a believable story. She presents Jet and her partner in this story through Lawan’s eyes, as well as the sex club and its owner and manager. She keeps the style simple and honest and clear.
I had heard of these types of things going on in the world, but it wasn't until I read about Lawan that it hit home. This story is a heartbreaking tale of human trafficking.
JET: Rescue takes the reader on a journey into the horrors of Thailand's child prostitution business told through the eyes of eleven-year-old Lawan from Russell Blake's JET: Betrayal. JET: Rescue is short gut-wrenching and emotionally-charged read!
I was thrilled when Kim Cano asked me to read an advanced copy of her novella JET: Rescue as I am a fan of Cano's work and of Russell Blake's JET series. I love Cano's idea to tell the story, an eleven-year-old girl from Blake's JET: Betrayal. Although JET: Rescue is short, Cano does an excellent job a capturing the fast-paced action of the JET books, while capturing the horrors of Thailand's child prostitution industry. My heart went out to Lawan and I really wanted her to escape from her desperate situation. Even though I knew what was going to happen to Lawan at the end, having read Blake's JET: Betrayal, I was still on the edge of my seat, hoping for a different resolution to her plight.
Fast paced, with excellent dialogue that captures both the innocence and worldliness of eleven-year-old Lawan, Jet: Rescue is a top-notch edition to the JET series.
