About the author

Caroline Cooney knew in sixth grade that she wanted to be a writer when "the best teacher I ever had in my life" made writing her main focus. "He used to rip off covers from The New Yorker and pass them around and make us write a short story on whichever cover we got. I started writing then and never stopped!"
When her children were young, Caroline started writing books for young people -- with remarkable results. She began to sell stories to Seventeen magazine and soon after began writing books. Suspense novels are her favorites to read and write. "In a suspense novel, you can count on action."
To keep her stories realistic, Caroline visits many schools outside of her area, learning more about teenagers all the time. She often organizes what she calls a "plotting game," in which students work together to create plots for stories. Caroline lives in Westbrook, Connecticut and when she's not writing she volunteers at a hospital, plays piano for the school musicals and daydreams!

* So, Mary Ellen is dating Troy (who she doesn't really like) and still refusing to dating Patrick because he's a dust man 🙄
* Angie is dating Marc, but he's gone off to college.
* Nancy is still dating Alex.
* Pres fancies Kerry who is a sophomore, and he thinks it's love at first sight. She's dating Andrew, but wants to date Pres.
* Rumours are circulating that Mary Ellen is a shoplifter and Angie got on the honour roll by cheating. Both untrue and both started by Vanessa.
* Vanessa even goes as far to steal stuff herself and put it in Mary Ellen's bag, but thankfully Angie notices and saves the day.
* Vanessa is such a bitch! Again!

For young adults who like cheerleading, high school characters, with romance and a different storyline with each book although it completely revolves mostly around cheerleading, hence the series title. These books are out of print now and were written in the 80’s so to read them now they would be outdated compared to todays world but they are still good books.

The end was a bit abrupt and there was no resolution to Angie's storyline. Vanessa didn't get her comeuppance (AGAIN). But I looove these books. Almost everyone is a sociopath! So much cattiness & drama! Vanessa is so evil, all she needs is a mustache to twirl! Keep it coming!

Mary Ellen is accused of stealing, Angie is accused of cheating, and everyone else basically goes crazy.
