I think Matt Murdock needs to return to the classic black mask. It's his absolute best costume, no contest. He deserves some minimalist artists stylizing that costume. Chris Samnee, Cliff Chiang, and Matt Wagner are all names that deserve to tell a story of this costume. John Romita Jr.'s illustrations are unique, and they're stylized, which is amazing. There's loads of talent in that. Having said that, I don't think he's the absolute best artist for a superhero costume like this. I want an artist who draws better shadows and takes full advantage of ink. JRJR's contemporary style, I think, is at its best when he drew for Black Panther. That story and character fit his shape-focused style amazingly. It feels compatible to nature and tribal art, which was fitting for a setting like Wakanda. Daredevil is more of a David Mazzucchelli type of character. Shadows. City. Alleys. Water tanks. Catholic Churches. I will say, JRJR draws rain very nicely, though. :)

Starting to get really good now, just a little disappointed that Kingpin hasn’t been utilized so far, but don’t get me wrong he’s definitely menacing.

Hopefully the last issue will flesh him out and use him more.

You can see the influences of this comic on the tv show. It’s good but if you have seen the tv show, it doesn’t have a lot of impressions on you!
